The Newest Ethiopian Restaurant in the Heart of Seattle
  • All You Can Eat Lunch Buffet
  • Happy Hour 4pm - 7pm
  • Live African Music Fri & Sat

Habesha, Seattle's newest Ethiopian restaurant, is a great reason to venture into the morass of the Denny Triangle. It is a classy place, melding traditional Ethiopian with modern Seattle. You immediately notice the lamps - all made by local artist Yegizaw Michael. Wrapped in creamy handmade paper & decorated with paper cutouts of Ge'ez letters and figures, the lamps make room glow golden. There is also a sleek, backlit bar & exposed-brick walls. Habesha offers the traditional Ethiopian dishes: tibs, stir-fried strips of beef or lamb; the spicy chicken stew called doro wot. To this list, owner Abiy Assefa has added a few novel tweaks, such as the green chicken & asa gulash. Come for lunch, the all-you-can-eat lunch buffet is a deal not to miss. Come for dinner. On Friday & Saturday nights, there is live African music. Or stop by for happy hour. It's better than waiting in I-5 traffic.

Great lunchtime spot 5 Star Rating - World class

Habesha's a great place to go for lunch. For less than $10, you get an all-you-can-eat buffet with delicious Ethiopian cuisine. The service is good--you're seated immediately, the staff are around to answer questions you have about dishes, and they are very attentive.
