We work with several doctors in the San Antonio, Tx. area and have become well-known for our fitting and consulting. We dont just sell stockings, we give valuable information and education on how to manage your life while dealing with certain diseases including lymphedema and venous stasis. This information and daily planning is all free ... even if you dont buy stockings with us we will still be here to help you in any way we can. A lot of patients that we see coming in and out of wound cares is due to the fact that they were not properly informed on how to manage their day while having to wear stockings. Also, they are not being informed on how to wash stockings to increase the life of the garment, when to wear stockings, easy ways to get stockings on and off and etc. There is alot more to this business than just selling someone stockings. There is a lot of information and education that is mandatory for maintaning healthy legs. For this very reason Physician Choice has stepped up to help educate our clients in compression therapy ... the way it should have always been done!! Our main goal is to help educate! If we can help someone to become self managable, that is the greatest reward. A lot of times I see a patient and they tell me that they have been in and out of wound cares because their circulation is bad and they keep having to go back time and time again to the doctor and the doctor prescribes compression stockings. I have to say that hearing that makes me feel bad. Could you imagine having to go in and out of the doctors office for the same thing over and over again. That doesnt have to happen! They usually have to go back because they didnt know how to manage their daily routine while using compression. There are a lot of factors involved when it comes to figuring out when to wear, when to wash, how to put on the easiest way- what works for one person might not work for anouther, and especially with the older generation we need to make sure they dont forget to replace their garments on time. Not replacing your garments every six months could lead to the doctors office very quickly.
