Hair in my Food - Disgusting
I used to like this place despite the hefty prices and small portions, but after our visit this Saturday, we are done with Bombay Talkie. As the title says, we found a piece of hair in our food. The staff didn't handle the situation as they should have and overall, this type of thing is totally inexcusable at any restaurant. Bye Bombay Talkie.
Pros: cool looking spot
Cons: HAIR in my food

Good but pricey
Went on a sunday evening, and were seated right away at a communal type table. The place looks squeaky clean and the service is fast and friendly. The food is a pretty good take on Indian food.I was expecting samosas and puri, but they did not have them.I'm used to going to Jackson Heights for authentic-inexpensive, Indian. The food we did have-nan bread-kati rolls and chicken, both clay oven and tikka masala were pretty good. It's a bit pricy for the size of the portions, but overall,I would reccomend it.

Perfect Birthday Event
I selected Bombay Talkie for my birthday dinner because of the casual trendy vibe. I love the decor, and the wall art: huge painted scenes from old Indian cinema which demand notice and conversation. The drinks, especially the mango martinis are amazing, made with real mango pulp...I ordered a round for the entire table to start things off for the dinner. We were 14 people and opted for the open bar along with the prix fix menu. Everyone enjoyed the vibe, the service and most of all the food. The Pau Bhaji is my favorite appetizer, and the Papdi Chat was loved by all too. The Lamb Chops are divine...and being a foodie with 10 years experience in the restaurant biz, I can safely claim them as the best I've had in the city. My guests enjoyed the Biryani, Kofta and Mahi Mahi dishes as well The service was great, we were well attended and promptly served, including the many many rounds of drinks that we ordered. Some friends came back the next night to enjoy the food all over again. This was my third great experience here, and I'm rating it 5 stars for the food, the vibe, the service and the price. Thank you for making my birthday special.
Pros: not the ordinary chicken tikka serving indian restaurant
Cons: three times and no negative comments for me to make

portions are too small
Bombay Talkie is supposed to be about Indian Street food , little plates to share etc.
The food is very good especially the Lamb. However the positioning of this establishemnt is very much to be th Indian Nobu or the Indian Hakassan - a beautifully designed restaurant with wonderfully turned out staff. The service unfortunatley is not up to scratch (or Nobu) and the food despite being very good cannot be said to be good value - portions are also very small so you need to order a lot unless you are like many of the guests who don't really eat
Pros: tasty foods
Cons: small portions

I want it in England!!!
I come often to the states for work, and love Indian food, my friends recommend me Bombay Talkie so me and my group of friends we head there last weekend.
Let me tell you, the experience was amazing, the place is really tastful and cool, the waiter and the staff were really friendly and helpfull, and the food, my god, those Lamb chops, the chaptpatta, and my friend order the Dosas for appetizers, speachless.
I LOVE THIS PLACE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
