Dr. Jacobs is amazing. I am a health care professional and I have spent the last 10 years with 5 different primary physicians who did not listen and spent less than 5 minutes with me per visit. Those physicians did not care about my well-being. Dr. Jacobs is different. At my first consultation with him he spent at least 45 minutes listening carefully to all of my concerns. He took blood tests to rule out any serious underlying medical issues. Then we made a list of lifestyle changes that I could make to alleviate my problems, and he suggested that I start taking a multivitamin. In subsequent visits I received the same excellent care, having 30-40 minutes consultations with the doctor. Thanks to Dr. Jacobs my issues are resolved and I have my health back. He is competent, professional, and patient. Let me say it again because it is the most important thing that any physician can do during a consultation. He listens! Dr. Jacobs gets my highest recommendation.
Thank god for Dr. Jacobs! I went to see him for my seemingly unrelated symptoms. He spent time with me and really investigated into my life. He suggested some lifestyle changes and took me off of most of the medication I was taking. I went to him a few times after that initial visit and we kept making various lifestyle changes and changing my meds until I was on the lowest dose possible to achieve the results we needed.
He taught me to view my whole body as a system with many parts. The system works together with my mind, lifestyle, diet etc. He was right, by making the suggested adjustments to my life, I not only reduced the medications I was taking, reduced my depression, but I am actually healthier and happier inside. The advice he gave me was hard to hear but 100% right on.
Dr. Shahram Jacobs was able to diagnose my issue after 5 other doctor failed!! He spent time, asked me several questions and put together several of what I thought were unrelated symptoms. He is nice and really approachable, his bedside manner is great and his office staff is friendly. I just wish he would validate my parking ticket.

I was visiting LA from NY when unfortunately I came down with a fever and sore throat. Since I didn't have a doctor in CA one of my family members suggested I go see Dr. Jacobs. All I have to say is that he is an absolute pleasure! Even though he knew that I lived in NY, he agreed to see me and took his time to explain everything clearly and thoroughly! His bedside manner is exemplary and he was very knowledgable. If I lived in LA, he would definately be my PMD.
A compassionate doctor who really cares about his patients is hard to find. But I found that in Dr. Jacobs, who truly took his time and listened to my problems and symptoms with care and compassion. His office is very well-run, the staff is friendly, location is great, and he himself is a rare gem among the many doctors around. I would highly recommend him!

I had a great experience with Dr. J. His diagnosis of my symptoms was right on. He spent time with me explaining my diagnosis, what I can expect and my treatment options. Real nice guy.
To the reviewer below- It was hard for me to hear a diagnosis of depression as well. In my case, once I treated the depression (after dismissing the notion for almost 1 year) my seemingly unrelated symptoms went away...
A big NO vote on Dr. Jacobs. I came in with a tentative diagnosis from an out-of-network provider at Cedars-Sinai, hoping to establish a relationship with a doctor covered by my insurance. Even though I have test results showing autoimmunity, allergy, malabsorption and digestive issues, Dr. Jacobs treated me like a hysterical middle-aged hypochondriac woman by insisting I was depressed and the depression was causing all my symptoms. What a load of shite...and I'll be paying cash for the CS doc, who actually thinks that the lowest vitamin d levels she's ever seen might be more than a lack of sunshine and too much stress. Dr. Jacobs actually seemed to concur with the CS docs opinion at one point during our visit, but essentially said that the condition usually comes back after treatment, so what's the point of treating it. If you're looking for ersatz charm, Dr. Jacobs is your man; if you need more substantial medical care, don't waste your tijme and seek help elsewhere.
My mom (who swears by Dr. Jacobs) referred me to him for certain medical issues I was having. Dr. Jacobs exceeded my expectations, he spent time with me and told me exactly what I need to do and what I need to avoid. he made sure everything was clear and that I understood everything 100% before I left his office. He properly diagnosed my condition and was able to treat it as well. He has great bedside manner and is very approachable.

Most doctors I've been to dismiss me out of hand without even listening. I look young and healthy, therefore I must be young and healthy or a hypochondriac. Dr. Jacobs was the first doctor who took me seriously, listened intently for a great length of time, ran extensive tests, and pointed me in the right direction of a specialist who can fix my problem. I've never been so impressed with a doctor, and I've been to quite a number trying to get a diagnosis. I can't express my gratitude for Dr. Jacobs enough!!!

I finally found the best primary care physician in the valley! Dr. Jacobs is great since he practices internal medicine and complimentary medicine. He knows so much about the mind-body connection, he helped me get through my IBS with out meds. I used to see another doctor that did some of the things dr jacobs does (integrative medicine, complementary medicine etc) but he was really far and did not spend enough time with me. It is about time a more open minded, caring traditional physician came to our neck of the woods!
I usually do not write reviews online. this is my 1st time. I just felt like I had to take the time and mention what a wonderful experience i had at Dr. Jacob's office. He is a young smart and highly educated doctor (he went tgood schools and had awards and things like that). He knew what I meant when I explained my symptoms he listened and asked questions about differnt parts of my life until we figured out why I may have such bad allergies and this horrible skin condition. It was great to go to a doctor about this and not be given the same allergy meds and steroid cream. He personally called me the next week to see how it was going. He was not the "you are in and the you are out" type of doctor. He is like one of the old school type internal medicine doctors who actually care about people and not just money. what a nice and caring person. Too bad he is married.

Dr. Jacobs makes you feel like you are part of his family. He sincerely cares about his patience. My mom was in the hospital, and I was in need of a good internist. The staff at the hospital raved about Dr. Jacobs. He called him and he helped us through one of the most difficult times of my life. He explained every procedure and the pros and cons of every medical decision that the specialists urged us to make.

My brother in law told me about Dr. Jacobs and I decided o switch doctors and start seeing him. I am glad I did.
His office is well run and his staff is professional and caring.
He is a very smart and caring internist. I was amazed at the connections he made and the health advice he gave me. He spent time with me and made me feel really cared for. He sat down and asked me my history himself. He took me off a prescription medication I was taking and said that a certain supplement and life style change would have the same positive effect as the medication I was taking but without the side effects. He told me about various studies that support that idea and also told me about why the previous doctor may have want dot put me on the medication.
We made decisions together. He gave me info and asked me what I wanted to do. I loved that he didn't just tell me what to do.
HIghly recommend him!
I have been going to Dr. Jacobs for several years now. He is such a great guy and a caring doctor. He slows down and really takes his time to figure out what is going on. I started back pain unlike the last few doctors I went to he did not just give me pain meds and send me off, he took time to ask about what my day is like, my posture during work, during exercise etc until we figured out what could be causing the pain. He suggested several several things I could do to reduce the pain. He takes time to ask about my life and my relationships and help me future out practical ways to reduce my stress/improve my life.
I've lived in the area for a few years now and have been looking for a great Doctor from the beginning. I'm very apprehensive to start relationships when pertaining to my health, one may say allergic to the thought. Finally, I decided it had been too long and scheduled an appointment with Dr. Jacobs, hoping I had met my match.
The girls were very sweet and inviting; not only on the phone, but when I arrived for my appointment. I waited no time at all to be checked in. Dr. Jacobs was very personable and informative. His demeanor made me feel very comfortable, as well as his approach to holistic treatment. I have never had a Doctor spend so much time as Dr. Jacobs did with me, nor care to listen to every detail and ease my concerns.
Dr. Jacobs is a wonderful physician who is not only intelligent and kind, but also really cares about his patients and their mental and physical well being. I recommend him to all my friends and family. I trust his opinion and have never had any problems or difficulties at his office or with his staff.
I moved to Studio City a while ago and had been looking for a good Internist/ Primary care physician.
I found Dr. Shahram Jacobs on city search and I agree with the other reviewers. He is a REALLY good doctor! He has great bedside manner and really cares about his patients- IT SHOWS!
Rarely do you find a doctor that is also spiritually attuned. Its obvious that Dr. Shahram Jacobs is extremely up to date in what is going on in the medical field. He knows and tell you about the latest studies and how they relate to you. but the most amazing part is that he knows what is going on in mind-body research and how that plays a role in his patients' healthcare.
Its AMAZING! I just read the Secret and he knows and applies that information to your health.
FYI: Not everyone is into this stuff so if you want to get into it with him, bring it up.
My family and I have been Dr. Jacobs' patient for a while.
He is such a wonderful person and a really caring doctor. He really digs deep into my medical history/life style to figure out exactly what is going on rather than just handing me some meds and telling me to come back.
I really appreciate his effort/time, especially since most of the other good doctors have stopped taking insurances.
Was a patient for awhile and then he started ordering unnecessary and expensive tests that were not covered completely by insurance. He overcharged them and then slapped me with the remaining bills. Watch out, ask questions about price of procedures because, to me, he's just lining his pockets at your expense and health.
Agreed with earlier reviews that the front desk people leave much to be desired, they are quite rude via the phone and barely aware of your existence when in office. His hiring practices also leave much to be desired.
Beware of this doctor's judgement at all times.
As a doctor, nothing special. How ever i noticed two charges on both visits for ""Bevhav. Chng. Smoking"", when I called the office, I was told it was a smoking counseling service $40.00 out of pocket each visit 9-10 minutes. WHAT COUNSELING?? Not to mention and additional $40.00 (NOT covered either) for ""previous medical counseling"" medical info? What kind of doctor does that. I already paid for the $300.00 OFFICE VISIT.\r
FINALLY on my second visit, the front desk girl reeked of ALCOHOL. I get that people can do whatever, in their spare time...but when you run a ""whole body health center"" I think your front desk girl should not reek of booze and look that tired.\r
All in all, ok doctor...but the billing was BS (that was an additional $120.00 out of pocket from me to total that up) above all. I WILL NOT RETURN.
It is so difficult to find a good primary care physician.
I don't have any serious conditions, but it was important for me to find someone that my family and I could have a relationship with for many years so that he/she could understand my body, my family history and my medical needs - Dr. Jacobs is the one!!
He is patient, understanding, knowledgeable and caring. His office staff are very helpful and it is easy to get them on the phone.
The office is very nice and does not feel cold like some other doctor office can. The parking is easy and the wait is not long.
I normally would keep a good thing like this to myself, but this is too important in people's lives - Do yourself a favor and go to Dr. Jacobs for your primary care needs.
I have been to many doctors in Los Angeles and I have taken my parents to even more doctors. I have not met a doctor who is like Dr. Jacobs.
This doctor is obviously very smart and takes his role as a healer very seriously. He was very up-to-date on the latest research and answered all of my questions.
I went to see Dr. Jacobs last month for a check-up and clearance before having surgery. After seeing him there is no way I will be going to any other doctors in L.A.
He took the time to personally call me himself and see what was going on with me. He also worked me in at the end of the day when I showed up and even stayed late to do all the necessary testing. He was so nice. He called and checked on me himself after my surgery with another doctor as well. My doctor that did the surgery didn't even do that. He goes above and beyond to treat his patients well. You will love Dr. Jacobs.
Lets put it this way, I drive from Beverly Hills to see this guy!
I have been to a few Integrative/preventetive/functional Medicine doctors over the past few years in my quest to find the a well trained Internist who is also educated about alternative therapies and who can make holistic suggestions where appropriate.
I found him!
I am always very nervous about meeting with new doctors, but Dr Jacobs and his staff put me at ease right away. Everybody was friendly and informative, and the office itself was very clean and comfortable. After hardly any wait I met with Dr Jacobs who spent a ton of time with me and made sure ALL of my questions were answered. He didn't make me feel like my questions were stupid or that I was wasting his time- and that was very important to me. It was such a good experience, that my husband will be changing over to Dr Jacobs as well. I highly recommend this practice.
i hardly ever bother to take the time to write reviews on anything- let alone a dr's visit- but I HAVE to share how much i loved dr. jacobs and what a great experience i had in his office!\r
from the moment i walked in I felt at ease. the space was inviting and staff- sooooooo patient and helpful! I didn't have to wait at all. Dr. Jacobs has such a genuine demeanor- so friendly and patient- sat down the entire time while I asked my questions and didn't make me feel like he had anywhere else to be. His questions and later on, medical advice were insightful and spot-on.\r
he's definitely my new internist!
This doctor was exactly what I was looking for. I need someone who understands and knows both Western Medicine AND alternative medicine.
Dr. Jacobs is able to tell me which natural alternatives will help me and how effective the natural treatment is compared to the traditional western treatments.
He helped me decrease my symptoms and reduce the number of medications i was told to take by my regular doctor. He substituted some of the medications with a natural alternative and gave me a few suggestions to try to change some of my habits. He really listened to me and heard what I had to say.
I really respect and trust his advice. He is the best Integrative medical doctor in Los Angeles!
I've been searching for a good physician in Encino for quite some time now and can guarantee that I have found the creme de la creme of internists. Dr. Jacobs is knowledgable, caring and patient. He really took his time with me, and cared to hear my concerns. I can confidently say that Dr. Jacobs is hands down the best doctor out there for both internal and integrative medicine.
Dr. Jacobs will stay a little later to fit me in the schdule to accomidate, and never do I feel rushed once I am there. He listens to all my questions & addresses each one, making sure they have all been answered. He helped me raise my iron levels to get out of an anemic state as well. Dr. Jacobs looks at everything as a whole make sure one problem isn't stinted from something I would have never considered....for example if I cant sleep, instead of just giving me a pill, he'll ask about stress levels at work, exercise or diet, etc. Erin is fabulous, always freindly & makes my blood draws qick & painless.
I am so happy I found Dr. Jacob's! This doctor is one of a kind! He really got to know me and cared about my health, not just my medical health but my overall well-being and happiness. He said that it is all connected, and that when we are happy and experience a better quality of life, our health improves as well. He made a few suggestions and advised me to make a few changes in my life. None of these changes were drastic, but the difference it made in my life is noticeable.
I really had such a great experience at Dr Jacobs office! I can't believe I was at a doctors office and not a spa... they had hot tea and water in the waiting room. I didn't wait long and really felt good about my choosing Dr. Jacobs as my Internist.
Pros: beautiful calm office, amazing experience.
Dr Jacobs is one of the most knowledgeable physicians I have seen. He conducted a very comprehensive physician exam and was able to figure out AND resolve my medical issue by asking me questions. He asked about my job, relationships and my social life. I was so impressed that he figured it out and didn't try to dismiss my concerns as unimportant.
I sent several friends/relatives/coworkers to Dr. Jacobs and they too are impressed at his ability to figure out/solve their issues by asking questions.
Pros: knowledgeable, intelligent, compassionate
Cons: wish he was in west LA
A doctor that actually listens to your worries and gives you answers. I felt taken care of in his office as he was caring yet totally professional and very knowledgeable. I dont think I ever enjoyed a dr visit so much - as he made me feel valued as a patient. Easy to find office (I didnt get lost!!).
Pros: Friendly and Professional and Convenient Location
I absolutely recommend Dr. Jacobs on a regular basis to friends and family in the area. He is thorough, kind, and always on time. He isn't intimidating like most doctors I've been to and makes it easy for me to ask questions and, most importantly, to get answers. He asks a lot of questions about all aspects of my life in order to get a well-rounded idea of what may be going on with me. I can tell he is always up to date on the latest information and studies because he quotes them when answering my questions. Overall hes a smart and reliable doctor- and hes good looking too!
Pros: timely, honest, patient
Cons: $$parking-park next door and get validated at coffeebean!
Very impressed with Dr. Jacobs! Most doctors have ignored my complaints about my symptoms saying it is nothing and that I was fine. I knew something was off in my body and I had symptoms to show for it. Dr Jacobs listened to me and took me seriously enough to run a few tests and give me a proper diagnosis and suggest a course of treatment. We are currently treating the issue, I feel back to normal and I cannot thank Dr. Jacobs enough! I am so happy I found Dr. Jacobs!
Pros: Very knowledgeable and caring
A big NO vote on Dr. Jacobs. I came in with a tentative diagnosis from an out-of-network provider at Cedars-Sinai, hoping to establish a relationship with a doctor covered by my insurance. I had a great experience visiting Dr. Jacobs at his office in Los Angeles. He was very nice and approachable. Took his time with me I dod not feel rushed at all. He sat on a chair and asked me questions and answered my questions. I really value his opinion and knowledge. I highly recommend him.
Pros: really smart guy, very knowledgeable.
I had a wonderful experience with Dr. Jaocbs. I chose him to be my PCP (primary care physician) from a list my insurance company sent me, and went to him to get a complete physical exam. I did not have to wait long and had my appt with the Dr and the lab work completed on the same day. (The lab is on the same floor). He is a great person, really easy to talk to. I was happy to know he is board certified in internal medicine.
Pros: takes insurance
I hate going to the doctor and needed to get some bloodwork done and a physical. Dr. Jacobs was reccomended to me by a co worker so i decided to give it a shot. When I first walked into the office, the receptionist was incredibly attentive and sweet. I did not have to wait long and was seen right away by Dr. Jacobs. He had a warm caring demeanor about him and was very sensitive to my fears. The bloodwork barely hurt, i hardly felt it! I would highly rec Dr. Jacobs to anyone.
Pros: Caring, sensitive, timely
Being new to the area I was having a hard time finding a doctor that I really liked. On my first appointment he made me feel right at ease. It makes such a difference having a doctor that shows he cares by actually listening to his patients. He not only treated my condition but he explained alternative approcahes and we decided together what would be the best path for me. He is an excellant doctor and I highly recommend him to anyone I know. If you are looking for a caring doctor who makes you feel at ease and actualy knows what he is talking about, I would go to Dr. Shahram Jacobs.
Pros: I was seen in a timely manner.
Dr. Jacobs is exceptionally professional and knowledgeable. He appeared to be up to date on current practice patterns and has trained at highly competitive programs. He is kind, patient and gentle. I am happy to have found a primary care physician that I can rely on, who is willing to take the time to listen to listen to his patients.
I recently saw Dr. Jacobs and was most impressed. He has a great office set up, without a long wait. He had a wonderful bedside manner and appeared to be very knowledgeable. I saw him for my ED and he made me feel very comfortable and took the time to explain my treatment options. He patiently answered my long list of questions and did not make me feel rushed. I am very happy with my experience and highly recommend him.
I've been looking for a caring, smart doctor for a long time. I'm glad I finally found him. Dr. Jacobs is knowledgeable, up to date with current medical treatment and spends as much time with you as you need. I recommend him to all my friends.
I had a wonderful experience at Dr. Jacobs' office last week. First of all, I was able to get an appointment during my lunch hour. Dr. Jacobs' office was punctual and I did not spend more than 5 minutes in his waiting room. \r
Dr. Jacobs was caring and listened to me. He did not brush off my questions like other doctors I had been to. He spent about 1 hour answering my questions. No other doctor has ever spent that much time with me. I didn't feel rushed at all.
