I have been a member of Fine Lines Fitness since the beginning of January this year. I was very excited about my new membership due to the welcoming atittude of staff and current members. I enjoyed the fact that everyone was very personable and remembered my name after only being there for one week. The classes were scheduled at the best times for those individuals who had regular working lives.

My best friend and I decided that we wanted to start working out on a regular basis so upon membership we attended the gym 5 days a week. These visits are recorded and dated for each visit. We also decided to pay our full year up front due to the incentives offered. We did receive a student rate but it wasn't that much of a price break on us. Never the less, we enjoyed and took full advantage of our membership.

I am a recent college graduate and upon May 11 started an earnest job search. I did not limit myself to the Tidewater area due to opportunites that may be offered elsewhere. After a couple months I received, through a member of the gym I met several weeks prior, that she may have an opportunity for me. She left her information to contact her and I did so immediately. With her help I set up an interview with an Attorney in Northern Virginia approx. 130-140 miles from the gym. To say the least the interview went well because I am currently employed there. I moved from Smithfield on Sunday July 20, 2008 and I began work the following day.

I contacted Tammy July 17, 2008 to inform her of my sudden move and to see about cancellation of my contract and possible reimbursement of the time that I will no longer spend at the gym due to relocation. I currently live 3 hours away and work five days a week M-F 8:15-5:30. I do not have the time nor the interest in driving home every day just to go to the gym in Carrollton. She refused to give me a pro-rated amount back in the form of a check due to reasoning I'm sitll unclear on. Tammy did offer me an 3-year extention of my contract with the stipulations of goin to the gym within 2 week increments at a time. That was very thoughtful of her but being that I NO LONGER LIVE in that area I find it hard to go to the gym within a two week period if I'm 3 hours away. I don't think I will take a two week vacation in order to just go to the gym, especially when there are other more popular gyms in this area.

Personally I am a little upset that I have to go through so much just be treated fairly in such a matter. I hope you can understand my frustration. The gym is a wonderful place but the business portion that is currently being handled is extremely poor and if not handled promptly and correctly then I will be forced to report her to the Better Business Bureau and take this into legal matters.

Very friendly and supportive environment. This gym is not one of those high-tech centers with TVs on the treadmills - Fine Lines is simply very functional and focused on fitness; and it's really clean...wow! Tammy is constantly planning another outdoor activity and has actually gotten a 55+ year old (me) to mountain climb... yeah! Thanks!!!

I joined Fine Lines Fitness Center last year. I signed up with Tammy Harper as my personal trainer. She was fantastic! She pushed me without being pushy. She met me at 5am every Tuesday and Thursday. I felt her rates were very reasonable. She has redone the entire gym. It's gorgeous. They have a fantastic variety in their equipment as well as classes. Karate, Yoga, Nutrition, you name it; I just wish I could get myself there MORE!
