(I would have given zero stars if I could). Home warranty company sent them. The techs don't seem to know much about HVAC and cause more damage than anything. I've been without AC for a month and today they didn't show--this was the fourth attempt at fixing my 2 year old AC that originally only needed freon. I am hot and I am furious. I have insisted AHS send me a new company as I refuse to let these incompetents on my property again. Don't let them near your AC; you will regret it.

This is the worst contractor I have ever experienced. They are unprofessional and lack the technical skills to resolve problems. I have had a problem with my central air conditioning unit and used Piedmont Mechanical, it took 45 days of dealing with them weekly, there have been over 5 service calls to my home. I have asked to speak to a supervisor or the owner for 2 weeks and was ignored. Now, the problem has still not been resolved and I have flooding in my bedroom ceiling and they have told me that is not their problem. I did not expect perfection, but I did expect accountability for completing the work and also for any damages that may have resulted from their negligence. I have interacted with at least 3 of their service tech, nice guys but cant fix a problem. They also do not work on your problem on consecutive days. They visited my home once a week for 5 weeks. I would NEVER use or recommend this company for the above reasons.

Called last week when it was pretty hot out and got same day service. The guy was professional and quick, explained the problem well, gave me options and had it fixed in 20 minutes. Not to mention the bill wasn't nearly what i was expecting, would recommend to my family.

This company is still horrible.

I don't mind paying for a fair days work, but what I do mind is someone incapable of explaining how they came to the charges trying to strong-arm me and my family into paying an outrageous charge for unnecessary work. I don't know about you, but I work hard for my money and I don't like being swindled.

They SUCK!! I contacted Piedmont through American Home Shield. I was told that they would come to my home on 6/29/13 between 2-7- great so far, 24hour turnaround. Well Saturday came and then never called or showed up. I have left several messages and have not received a return call. Not only did I lose my entire Saturday afternoon, but my home is still hot. VERY UNPROFESSIONAL. I can understand a missed appointment if you call, but a no call, no show, no return call?

They got 1 star instead of 0 because you must give at least a 1. I have been without a working a/c for one week now, even though the original call was made to them 6 days ago. It took them 5 days just to get out to my house and even then they couldn't fix it. That was yesterday, but the tech assured me that he would be back today.

When I called today to verify what time he was coming I was told that nothing had been scheduled. When I tried to explain the situation to the representative she got very defensive and told me that if I kept talking she was going to mute me and put me on hold. I tried to explain that I wasn't upset with her personally, but at the situation. And since I spoke without her permission I was put in my hold "time-out." After 5 minutes in time-out I hung up and called again. I asked for the general manager who actually listened without being defensive, but the best he could do for me is send someone out in two days.

Well here it is in early August and I am without a/c. Whats more is that I have NEVER been treated with such little regard in all my life. Why on earth someone would do business with this organization is beyond me. I've learned my lesson. I write this to try to save anybody else the aggravation that I've had to deal with.

i have AHS warranty... Piedmont mechanical came into my home over 12 times in a year trying to repair THE SAME HVAC . FINALLY ahs DROPPED ME (THEY DO NOT HAVE TO TELL YOU) then piedmont mechanical would not come back out to reevaluate my cooling system.
i had to go to another company.
that company told me my unit was repair with incompatible parts and was not fixable. new unit $5800.and repair of duct work torn and left open...for all the hot air come into the unit.then my home...
i paid AHS since 1998 and not they drop me and Piedmont mechanical had destroy my h vac to beyond repair.
can i get some reinburstment for this?

They are the absolute worst company I have EVER had to deal with. Their technicians are unskilled and this girl that answers the phone is the rudest ??customer service? person I have ever spoken with! Air conditioner still leaking, 3 trips and 4 weeks later!!! They do not return phone calls and love to avoid or leave you on hold until they think you will hang up! AHS needs to drop them as a contractor or they will lose customers right along with this company!!!

it's been 6 weeks ... i have a flooded basement ... and I STILL HAVE NO AIR.

The customer service is a JOKE. the girl who answers the phone is the biggest JERK that i have ever encountered. calls to management are not returned. NO ONE cares about these customers.

Took four days to come out and service our AC as part of an American Home Shield warranty. Said it was fixed but it wasn't. We called within twelve hours, but it took another four days to get them back out to figure out what was really wrong. Then another 3 days to get back and actually fix it once they had the part. Two weeks later the unit is down again because the service tech (the only nice person we spoke to) installed it wrong and caused the whole unit to short out from a spliced wire! No big surprise it will take another three days to get someone out to see the problem even though their work has left a dangerous situation at our home. The company's customer service is horrible, the manager never responded to my request for a phone call, one particular lady who answered the phones was extremely rude and condescending (they never offered their names) and couldn't care less about how they treat customers. The only reason they probably stay in business is because AHS is feeding them work. Maybe they only treat their AHS customers like this because they know they can without any result. Companies like Shumate and others can be there in 24 hrs to fix your problem and big surprise they aren't an "approved" AHS contractor! Being in the construction business, I plan to tell everyone I know to never use Piedmont and explain the horrific service I've received.

They have been out to my house on several different occasions, and we have been more than pleased each time. Timmy was very professional and quick. We have an AHS warranty and are so pleased with it and Piedmont Mechanical... Thanks for all you do!!!

Our A/C upstairs was blowing hot air. I called AHS and then followed up with Piedmont Mechanical myself to make sure someone got the service call. Two days later the technician showed up. He said he couldn't find anything wrong. He checked a few things and said it all checked out and was working fine. I later went upstairs and it was blowing hot air again. I called AHS to get them out and they said it would be 2 days again. In the meantime, I noticed the outside unit wasn't working. My husband called to see if he could get them any earlier and they said "No". The SAME guy came today, changed the capacitor and said it now worked. He left and half an hour later it was blowing hot air again! I called and they said he was still in the area and could come back. I requested a different technician and they told me he was the only one in the area today, The saga continues but I WOULD NEVER CALL THIS COMPANY AGAIN!!! We are probably going to drop AHS as well since they aren't flexible as to who we use for repairs.

Great company, We have used them many times for our A.C. and Appliances. the customer service in the office is great!! Always returned phone calls and they always called to adv when tech was on way. Always on time very profesional and knowledgable techs, and we recommend them to everyone!!

Our heater broke over 2.5 weeks ago. AHS told us to use this company. Technician came out the first time and said that he needs to order a part, it took them several days to get that part. Then technician came to our house to install it but the heater still wouldn't work. The technician said that he didn't know why and left. We had to schedule another appointment with another technician (with more expertise) to come out. He did and said that there is another part that needs to be ordered. Again, it took them several days to get the part. Then, they finally installed it. The heater worked for 1 day and stopped working again. I had to move to my relatives house because I have an infant and it was 40 degrees downstairs. Aweful!!

Also, service people (Robert and Paul) do not return phone calls. Not to mention it takes at least half an hour to reach someone in the service department. The phone lines are constantly busy. One time I was put on hold for 15 minutes before hanging up. Several times my calls were droped when on hold. Also, technicians are always late to their appointments, USUALLY 1-3 HOURS LATE!!

We had an appointment scheduled for today, my husband was running 10 minutes late, I talked to Paul and he said that it's no problem and technician will wait for him. When my husband got there, there was no one at the house. I called the company and spoke to Robert who was very rude and hung up on me! How can they stay in business if that's OK in their book to be rude to customers and to hang up on them?!! I've never encountered a company that is so bad.

To sum up 2.5 weeks of waiting, still no heat, lots of stress! NEVER USE THEM!

I had a representative from the company out last Monday because my laundry had a bad odor and the washer was not spinning the water out of the clothes. The man was here approximately 15 minutes in which time he told me my problem was a maintenance issue and that he fixed the problem with the spin. He reported back to American Home Shield that there was nothing wrong with my washer. He did recomment that I purchase a new one because this one is old and less efficient. Shortly after he left I ran a load of laundry only to find that the machine still did not spin. I decide to look a little deeper into this myself with a second opinion and found a major leak in the machine. All the man had to do is move the machine to see all the mold on my sheet rock behind the machine and the two inch build up of fabric softener and detergent stuck to the tile floor. I had an odor in my garage that had the same smell as the laundry room with all its damp stinky clothes so I decided to check the garage and sure enough there is major sheet rock damage from the water running all the way down the wall. I will now have to call my insurance company to make sure there isn't any mold behind the sheet rock. Anyway another repair man took my machine since I didn't want to hassle with this company again and we just purchased a new machine. It didn't require a rocket scientist to figure out that there was a leak but this man never bothered to even look behind the machine. I would not recomment this company or AHS to anyone.
