I'm currently taking my daughter here for an injured knee. My first impressions were that he is a very highly skilled Dr. and knows orthopedic medicine very well. With that said I do wish he was a little better with listening skills. I felt at times I couldn't get a word in edge wise. When you're having a problem, you want to explain the problem to the Dr. in it's entirety. I got the impression he wasn't as interested in what I had to say as much as what he saw physically by examining my daughter.

After that he quickly gave his recommendations. I feel the recommendations he made were right on target. He wasn't in a hurry to operate because he didn't feel it was necessary since she's still growing and changing and the problem might resolve with physical therapy. So, his skills are there. I'm just not quite comfortable with the bedside manner. I guess I felt kind of rushed and like I was having to grab his attention before he ran out of the office. I didn't like that feeling.

The exam itself was thorough. However, it would have been nice if he used some visual aids while he was explaining the problem to me. He has several tools, diagrams on the wall, a plastic replica of the knee joint, so I feel if he wasn't so rushed he could have shown me what was going on so I'd have a better understanding of things. I will continue to go here because he is skilled and there aren't many Dr.'s in this area, but I do wish he would stop, slow down, pause and listen more attentively. So, you'll have to make your own final decision on this Dr. because my feelings are mixed.

As for the office staff, they were nice. I filled out the paperwork, paid my co-pay and within minutes my daughter and I were taken back to an examining room. The nurse was nice enough also.

PROS: Skilled, experienced sports Dr., not in a hurry to operate unnecessarily
CONS: In too much of a hurry, lacks listening skills & being personable
