I am a bit surprised at the other review of Vikhyat. Maybe this person is somehow connected to the restaurant, because it is simply not that fabulous. The lunch buffet has the typical offerings at an average price. Nothing I have eaten from the buffet was outstanding, but nothing was bad, either. I think the dinner prices are high, especially for vegetarian dishes. Vikhyat is average Indian food at average prices. I don't you think you'll be disappointed, but I don't think you'll be blown away, either.

Stay Away from this place unless you want to come down with food sickness and a severe case of flu! I attended a baby shower at this place on 08-29-09, the food was just plain awful, no service to speak of, water was provided in a large utility cooler! Saw them actually re-heat the food in a mircowave in the back before bringing it out to serve. At least 40 people out of the around 200 that attented got sick with either food sickness and flu! Later found out this restaurant received a health rating of 44 in Feb 09. I have to wonder why this place is even still open!

Tucked away in a small strip mall behind Northlake Liquor, next door to Wendy's, at Lavista Road and Henderson Mill Road is a fabulous authentic Indian restaurant.

Simplistic in decor and table setting, the charm comes from the gracious host who caters to your every need and the amazing freshly served Indian delicacies.

The menu is several pages long and caters to all tastes and diets. There is wine and beer available. Vegetarian dishes are cooked separately.

Come and taste the wondrous dished from India and spend time getting to know the host who's wit and simple charm will bring a smile to your heart.

just went recently to mirch masala on lavista rd and really liked the food. non-veg dishes like chicken tikka masala, tandoori chicken, lamb kebabs, tandoori platter, chicken nilgiri(in mint sauce, wow wow MUST TRY DISH)and many more are the best . veg dishes like palak paneer(spinach&cottage cheese),veg curry are also very good.
veg appetizers like veg samosa are also very good and served with different sauces.one thing i liked was that they make the food according to your taste like from mild to spicy, thats a very good impression.it was very wonderful.i liked it very much.
lunch buffet is also very good.they serve freshly made bread naans during the lunch buffet . the price for lunch buffet is only $6.95, its quiet good i must say.
staff is very friendly.

We went several times to try to give it a fair shake, but it just doesn't meet our expectations. These folks took over Maharajah's location, but it's nowhere near as good at executing Indian cuisine as the previous owners were. The Chicken Makhani was full of unpleasant little bits of bone and gristle. The only reason I'm giving it an "Average" rating instead of a "Below Average" is because the buffet seems decent enough, and they do bring you never-ending bowls of fresh naan as part of the buffet. Our servers have always been polite; I just wish the food wasn't such a disappointment. I've heard that the original Mirch location is better, but I haven't tried that. Even if you're having a craving for Indian food, you can do better than this lackluster offering.

Pros: All the naan you can eat with the buffet

Cons: Lackluster food, particularly when ordering from the menu
