My recent experience with Queens Alterations was less than satisfactory, actually very disappointing. They specialize in formal wear alterations. The first thing they will tell you is that you have the wrong bra for the dress that you're wearing, then they'll fit you (incorrectly) with one they sell. I waited for my alterations to be finished, and found this to be the case with every customer who came in, as well as two that I visited with during my wait. The charge for a simple alteration was exorbitant! My dress had to be taken in at the top, only. They charged $85! To compare, my daughter just got married in the DC area had to have her wedding dress altered. They had to take it from a size 16 to a 12 (long story) There was a ton of beading, a train etc. It cost her $120! In addition, they made my dress too tight, I couldn't breathe! When I asked that it be taken back out so that I would be comfortable, they tried to convince me otherwise. Finally, after protesting, they reluctantly, but angrily agreed as I requested. I was not happy with the way the dress looked and I would NEVER use them again!
