I would NOT recommend this venue for any private functions!!! I was trying to plan my future sister-in-laws bridesmaid luncheon at 700 Drayton but was told you have to use a private room with parties of more than 9 people. They then charge you $250 rental fee plus require a minimum $250 food and beverage bill. The events manager thought she was doing us a favor by reducing the rental fee to $100 but refused to negotiate anything further. I even asked for something as simple as a champagne toast upon our arrival so I didn't feel like I was throwing $100 down the drain - a cost of $10 to them for a bottle of champagne but was told 'No'. We should have known this venue was a bad choice when they didn't even return the phone call of my sister-in-law inquiring last year about having her wedding there. This is now 2 missed opportunities for them to have made money from us. Do they really think this is the only venue in Savannah to have events at? They definitely need a reality check and need to learn to work with potential customers! Maybe once they see this bad review of their willingness to work with potential customers they will rethink that $10 bottle of champagne....shame on them!!!

The elegant 700 Drayton, located at the Mansion on Forsyth Park, is elegance without posturing. The staff is cordial, welcoming, and seem to be as happy to be there are you are!

Their bar actually serves Absinthe, using the "flame ritual", and their liquor and wine choices are world class. There is outside seating in good weather, overlooking Forsyth Park.

The cusine choices range from classic to challenging, and all are memorable, as are several of their unique desserts. You should expect to pay $100 for two with drinks, and a modest wine, which is not overpriced for the food quality and the ambience. We have dined there on three occasions, and have decided it is "our" place now.

Be sure to tour the museum and fine art displays in the lobby areas of The Mansion.
