I have twin daughters, and one has been with Kiddin Around since 2006. The other signed on in 2007. As for honesty, Eva nails it on the head. She told me that my one daughter had what it took to be successful in the business. That one has worked for the last year with a reputable company and gone on a handful of auditions. As for the other one, she decided on her own that this was not what she wanted to do (me, faced with the dreaded "have to do for one what you do for the other" paid all of the money for pictures and such). When her pictures came back, Eva told me that she just didn't have the desire. She could see it in her pictures. And she was right. I think they are knowledgeable about the business. I think that my child has been represented in a professional way. She has more than made back her money that we spent, and she is very happy with everything she does with and/or for the agency. This type of profession is a gamble with any person/child.

Pros: Margo is amazing to deal with!

We have been with Kiddin Around Models for seven years and we have always been very satisfied with their level of courtesy and professionalism. They tell it the way it is and don't lead you on with false promises and insincere compliments. They are in the business of finding Talent for their Associates and then making sure the Talent and their parents are prepared to audition in a professional manner. They have always treated us with the utmost respect and have always made us feel that our daughter is a high priority for them and that they have done all they can to set her up to succeed. We recommend Kiddin Around Models to anyone who is interested in making sure their children are prepared to succeed and then understand that not every child is the perfect fit for every audition and that their self esteem is always more important than getting every modeling job that comes their way. We look forward to our continued relationship with them, appreciate all they have done for our daughter, and how they have always made her feel special. They really care!

Pros: a caring and hardworking staff who know their stuff

I totally disagree with this. My brother and I both modeled for this agency as children. I am now a 30yr old mother of 4 who still deals with the agency. My oldest son is with them, and now my 5 yr old daughter is starting. They have always been upfront. If i felt they weren't being honest, I would not continue to deal with them after all this time. I was very disgusted by this comment because they have been really good to me and my family. I would recommend and refer Kiddin Around to anyone who wants to get into modeling!

Pros: straight foward, good people

I felt like i had to comment on Kiddin' Around because i've read some negative posts and while one person may have had a bad experience, it's not the norm. We have been with Kiddin' Around for about 6 years with our oldest son and are in the process of setting up our youngest. We have had a very positive experience with the entire team at Kiddin' Around and have felt like they have been nothing but straight forward right from the start. They don't sugar coat, they don't feed you a line, they tell it like it is and you get out what you put in. Our son has had steady work since the first year he started and payments have come without issue. If i ever had a problem, it was resolved with a couple of discussions with the Kiddin Around team. It's a tough business. We have gone on many auditions and haven't been selected for all -- that's the way modeling goes. The clients are looking for something specific and your child might not be the best fit. You have to be prepared for that going in. So while you think you've made an investment that isn't paying out...that's not necessarily the fault of the agency. If you are considering modeling for your child -- research them all to figure out the best fit for you, but as a long-time client, i can tell you that Kiddin' Around is a trustworthy agency with years of experience in the industry.

Pros: Professional, Straight Forward, Prompt w/payment

Folks, I know you love your children and I know it is exciting to be accepted by an agency, but PLEASE TAKE MY ADVICE. Don't use these guys!!! They are very sneaky and treat you like a head of cattle. Their goal is to sign as many kids as they can, take a lot of money up-front and ignore you the rest of the time unless it's time to pay your $110 to get your kids photo posted to their crappy website (which takes them all of 10 minutes BTW). They have several of these profit centers and most of their talent rarely books enough work to recoup the up-front, which adds up to about $800. Also, they tell you that you should treat acting like you would soccer or ballet (i.e. another youth activity). A real agent treats it like a profession!

We were with them for a year and booked a couple jobs. They were good jobs, but good luck getting them to remember to send your checks! (We got a W-2 for almost $10K for 2008 and never received a check until we called them and forced them to pay...they told us it was just a computer glitch and to ignore the W-2.)

We are with a new agent now, a real agent, and the difference is like night and day. When you get with a real agent they give you personal attention, they know your child's name and interests, they send you on lots of REAL auditions, not just go-sees and open calls and THEY TREAT IT LIKE A BUSINESS!!

PLEASE! STAY AWAY FROM THESE GUYS!

Pros: None

Cons: up-front $, shifty, too many kids to get personal attention

I paid a lot of money for nothing (over $600). I am very disappointed in everything. I had to pay $ per year to put my daughter's pictures on the website and her pictures were only on the site for 4 months and the website was down alot. As a website designer, I know that the more pictures you put on a site, the more costly the site will be. So for them to keep down the cost of their site, they replaced the new children' pictures with the old children' pictures in hopes that the parents did not check their website often. They try to be very sneaky. Also, we had to pay alot of money for my daughter's pictures to be taken for the website and comp cards. They picked the Ok pictures out of the entire 2 rolls of shots. She had a lot of beautiful pictures and they did not chose them. They never contacted me for anything other than to spend some money. They are a big rip off! From Shania's mom

I was told one thing, and then after I paid all the money I received one go see. The 1st picture they chose for the site was not the classic shot from my child's photo's. Her picture in a classic light blue dress was not the one the lady from the agency chose. Unlike the photo's chosen for the other girls, and unlike the information I was told, when I showed up They chose a picture of my child in a green plaid skirt. The picture was cute, but her shot in the light blue dress was beautiful. They have favorites. My child did not have a chance. The agency said what companies would look for in the 1st shot, and then they chose the photo, from her shoot, that did not reflect their advise. I did not pay over $600, for the "professionals " to ask me what picture I like. Thanks for nothing, and always showing your true colors. sydney's mom

Pros: You can find out who just wants your money.

Cons: I was a stay at home mom and got ripped off
