We recently visited TWO and were blown away. Where to begin? First, the valet service (Valet for Life) greeted us during their busy rush of incoming/outgoing cars with a pleasant smile, greeting, and instructions on how to enter the restaurant. Next, we dined on very well prepared food that was very affordable. Lastly, we exited the restaurant with at least one-hundred other guests that were nothing short of rude and pushy...the valets were covered in sweat (temp. in 40's), but they were grabbing keys left-and-right. One valet, Jim, approached us and said, "I do apologize for the temporary wait, we're only grabbing eight tickets at a time to ensure that everyone is helped in order" Waiting ten minutes while watching twenty-seven new cars enter showed us how hard they work. The best part, the valets share their tips with local charities. I saw no problem with tipping Jim $5 because he really busted his tail for us. My only complaint, Jim wasn't able to chat with us longer. He first greeted us, held the front door, explained the check-in procedure, and suggested a spicy cocktail.

My friend orders the tuna tartare every single time we go :) The valet guys are nice as well. I appreciate a good staff. Oh, and they stay open late for you knight owls. Try it !!

Went to a birthday party there for my friend who loves the place. We were seated rather quickly as she had reservations. The place was balmy hot so they had plug-in fans running to move the warm air around. This added to the loud noise of the place. The fan near where I was sitting had a click to it so it sounded somewhat like an air compressor running beside our table through the course of the evening. Then add to that everyone talking extremely loud trying to be heard. I was seated on long rickety bench that is attached to the wall. It was rather uncomfortable. The server was pretty good for the most part and his prevailing attitude when a question or comment was made was "You are fortunate to be here in our super-trendy restaurant, so sorry if you don't like it but we wont change anything". I am working the Dave Ramsey plan so in an effort to keep cost down I ordered only the Ravioli $10.00. The four flat raviolis were pretty bland with sweet cherry tomatoes and crunchy English peas over them -- not sure how those conflicting flavors got shuffled together but that is a taste preference so I will give them a pass on that. I did not like it -- I was hungry and couldn't make myself finish the tiny dish. (I had to eat when I got home.) The food was brought to the table very rapidly and that was a positive. I received my bill: the Raviolis were $10.80 with tax and the gratuity was $8.82 -- 82% of the bill - wow. The server said they divide the gratuity equally across all of the people in the party -- so how nice, I get to subsidize the gratuity for the others at the table... bite my tongue... I was thinking I have to keep quiet and write this off as a lesson. One other major positive about the place was the valet service. Everything inside the restaurant was lackluster for the most part.

Valet was great. The menu is not big and everything has a "kick" to it. Im not a big fan of spicy food. The big ASS burger was good but I wish they had more on the menu. Overall the atmosphere was excellent and the live music was great.

A industrial restaurant feel with high ceilings and exposed pipes. Cool art, and wood fire kitchen smell. Very cool vibe when you walk in. We ordered the salmon chips as an appetizer and it was fresh and tasty. For entrees we ordered the ribs and the jerk chicken. The ribs are a wood smokey taste and a little on the dry side as most wood smoked meats are. The jerk chicken was humongous and was a little dull, but you could tell they tried. If I could do it all again I would have just ordered apps and small plates. The main plates were underwhelming.

I have been here twice and noticed a big difference in the service and the food. The first time the food was wonderful and the service was fast. This is why we went back. The second time, the service was really slow and my filet was salty. I don't know if I want to go back and try it out for a third time.

We went to this restaurant for as a dinner party for a special friend. we waited at the bar for 1 hour before being seated. Then as far as the food it was horrible I ended up getting the food removed from my tab & only paid for my soda. I ordered a steak it was burt to a crisp & had no flavor except for the burnt flavor. I have NEVER asked to bring a dish back or complained when going to a nice restaurant . I wasn't the only one at the table to turn the dish back several did & even tried another entre.
The only thing I can say good about it was the valet & it has a nice decor but food service & very compact I would NOT recommend this place ... to anyone.

Being invited to a dinner, i decided to check the reviews before i headed out. Made a note to self, not to look forward to the valet service, grabbed the keys and got on the road. Got to the place, gave my car to the valet person, actually they were professional, and headed inside. The place looks great, sitting, art work, and lighting. Heading to my table, almost got run over by the wait staff, I guess the customer doesn't matter here. Finally got to my table, feeling like Indiana Johns going through a battle field to get to a table. And came the waitress. Oh boy, have you ever felt like being rushed to order, eat and get the hell out...well if you haven't, you are welcome to come to this place and get the first hand. Food, well, it was just a child's play, salmon being too salty, and the lamb being too sweet. I felt like the owner's grandchild was training to be a chef at the age of 4. It was an insult to someone who run a restaurant and knew details of what it takes to make a presentable and tasty dish. The drink that I ordered, well came with the napkin after i was done with my meal, after 40 minutes or so. Finally the check came on time, paid and went out to get my car. The only positive thing for the night was the valet service, i guess after previous reviews, the valet got better, and the rest went down the hill. Out of 10, I would give the restaurant a 3.

Sorry valet company at Two Urban Licks should be FIRED- rudest guys. After a poor dinner, we went to retrieve our vehicle. We were told 4 times they were getting our car-my husband walked to the end of the dock and saw the valet inside our car (valet did not even lock the doors when he parked it). Asked what the problem was, and they lost the key! It had been 35+ minutes and they did not even have the courtesy to inform us. My husband asked where the key was and the rude valet said ??I don??t know, do you think I ate it?. I had to hold my husband back as we asked for the manager; he came out to find us calling the police. They finally admitted the VALET GUY TOOK OUR CAR KEY??s HOME and he was 1 hour away. We waited 2 hrs 10 min for the key. The manager insulted us more by offering $50 he took from the valet tips. We had a $60K Mercedes in his lot with no key, do we look like we need a $50 tip, HOW DARE HE!!!! We sat in his place of business for his low budget rent-a-valet character to return with our key. Concerned he made copies of our keys. WARNING, DO NOT LEAVE YOUR KEYS WITH THE VALET AT TWO URBAN LICKS. Owners don??t care enough about customers to invest in quality valet!!

The hubs made a surprise reservation at Two Urban Licks for Valentine??s Day, since he heard some good things about it. We were early for our reservation so we waited at the bar and had a couple of cocktails. I had the Purple Rain specialty drink, rum and simple syrup infused with lemon thyme and lavender. It was very smooth so I had a second. His traditional martini was well executed. Everything was starting out well.

When we were seated, it started to go downhill a bit. We were seated at a tiny table with a large fire extinguisher butted right against the table. However, all the two-seater tables are tiny but the extinguisher feature was rather annoying. It was also extremely noisy, crowded, my eyes started to sting a bit from the poor ventilation system.

For appetizers we ordered tuna tartare and a barely cooked, thin sliced beef called carpacio. Both were delicious although a miniscule portion size. The tuna was fresh and had a nice light sesame and citrus taste and the beef had a pleasant, smokey note.

For the entre, I ordered the rotisserie chicken and the hubs had lamb. Here??s where major disappointment crept into the picture. My chicken, while juicy and nicely caramelized, had a coating that was cloyingly sweet with no salty balance. It was served on a bed of lackluster mashed potatoes and nothing else??nothing green or orange or red or any other color. The dish was three shades of brown.

The hubs?? lamb looked promising but failed to deliver deliciousness too. He commented it was way under seasoned and the white bean accompaniment was also under seasoned and a bit toothy, not creamy as well-cooked white beans are.

Our waiter checked on us and was perceptive enough to notice our disappointment. The hubs told him we thought both entrees lacked seasoning and he quickly brought us the salt and pepper shakers. The salt did help a little; however, a well-cooked meal should not need any seasoning at the table. It was as if the sous chefs hadn??t tasted any of the components of our dishes before they were served.

One of the managers came to our table to find out what we did and didn??t like about the food so I was pleased to see the staffers did actually show concern about our experience. She comped our desserts??carrot cake for me and bread pudding for the hubs. Both were pretty good but then again, when spending $100+ for dinner, my expectations are so much higher than pretty good.

Well, went to Two Urban Licks expecting typical Valentines Day service. I knew they would be busy-and I did not realize how busy they were. Valet asked when we arrived "do you have a reservation" we did, and boy was I glad!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Seriously, I have been to Two a 1/2 dozen times with friends. It's always fun, but tonight was really amazing. I ordered the flash friend oysters, my friends has the emenadas and craw fish spring rolls. Came out so fast. I was so surprised. Our drinks were yummy, and strong. They came out fast too. Our server seemed really friendly and suggested Prime rib for dinner. So we got it, and it came with the best freakin mac and cheese I have ever had- and I know mac and cheese. I am really glad I got invited to Two Urban Licks for Valentines-I love the skyline and how bust it was, but the best part was the food. I have not said that about a restaurant in a long time.

STAY FAR AWAY FROM HERE IF FOOD IS YOUR PRIORITY! (That's why you go to a restaurant right?) I was utterly horrified by the lack of seasoning and flavor integration. The menu looked tasty and imaginative but failed at execution. The price point suggests otherwise. The noise level is so high it's near impossible to have a conversation without shouting. This is really a bar scene. To sum it up I would say this place is Chucky Cheese for 22 year olds. It's loud with screaming children (oops young drunk adults) and serves sub par food for inflated prices.

The place was not special. So loud you can not hear the person next to you. My husband and I went there with 16 people for a 9pm reservation. It was my son's girlfriend's birthday celebration, but by 10:15 pm, we were still not seated. My husband and I had to leave as we had to work the next morning, but my son told us that they were finally seated at 10:25. It is very poor business to accept a 9pm reservation and not be able to keep it. For the inconvienence, my son's party should have been offered something - they were not. Not even an apology. With all the amazing restaurants in Atlanta there is no need to ever go to this one.

I planned an evening out for my sisters bachelorette party a month in advance. We had our reservation a month in advance! I love this place. However, from the time we get there, the valet guys were so rude and unprofessional, the hostess was very rude. We waited 45 minutes for our reservation, our entrees came out with out receiving our appetizers. The waiter was not apologetic..."do you still want them?". I talked to the manager about it and was very nice about it. HE DID NOTHING FOR US. He said "ok come back, but write me an email 1st so i remember who you are, and Ill take care of you"...righhht. Why not take care of us now?! I've spent so much money at that place. Then, on top of everything we asked the valet for a cab, which took 40minutes. He said the rest has cabs waiting in front and that he called one. 40minutes later when the cab drove up i realized he had just been sitting in the parking lot and the valet never even called him. What else could have possibly happened? 2 OF THE GIRLS WHO HAD THE SAME DISH THREW UP FROM IT...and no it wasn't from the alcohol. HORRIBLE AND UNPROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE!

Two Urban Licks is trendy, sure, but the food is good enough to make it a place I would go over and over again. The salmon chips sound weird but DEFINITELY merit a try. They are very different but delicious. We had swordfish - fabulous and tuna - a bit too spicy and the cupcake trio for dessert. I was also pretty impressed with the price tag considering the type of dining. Though not cheap, it is pretty reasonable for a trendy hotspot.
The only major issue we had was that we were put on a waiting list despite having reservations. Several tables were seated ahead of us even though their reservation times were later than ours - not sure what that was about.

Cool vibe--yummy food and good looking people! I love this place. If you want to eat, you will probably need a reservation.

Pros: Great Food and Drinks!

Cons: Loud

.

We went here with friends and had a great time. It wasn't too loud. The food was good. The concept was great. It is a very modern space but it works very well.

Heard so much about this place, and it soooo lived up to my expectations. One of the coolest most chill atmospheres i can honestly say Ive ever eatin in, its hard to describe because as nice as it was, it was also sorta like a pub. Id recommend that if you are in college in the area take some friends and have a blast.

after hearing alot of Good and Bad things about Two Urban Licks, I decided to jump at the opportunity to meet some friends for Dinner. While the set-up is very nice...you literally have to scream as you conversate w/ the your party. I'm not sure what causes this, but I definitely do not like restaurants in which everything is Loud and Noisy. It was very difficult to hear each other at the table due to the surrounding noise. The Fried Calamari is Wonderful, but extremely overpriced at $9 for a small portion. If your considering this restaurant for a intimate date....bad choice...unless your comfortable w/ texting each other. You definitely wont be able to hear each other.

Went here with a group of friends for my 23rd Birthday... Had a blast the valet parking was very nice and the food was excellent. i had the shrimp tacos and duck which came with sweet potatoes, the drink menu is great as well. The resaurant is dim lighted which is very romantic, and the view of the city is to die for. Can not wait to go again!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Two came very highly recommended by several friends, so my wife and I checked it out for Valentine's Day (actually the night before to avoid the crowd). The covered complimentary valet was great, and I loved the industrial setting. We had the salmon chip appetizers, duck and snapper, and finished it off with the banana split dessert. Complimented well by great wines, great blues-y music, and a breathtaking view of the city, I would highly recommend Two Urban Licks to anyone looking for a unique dining experience. Can't wait to go back.

My husband and I went for his 30th birthday in June and it was love at first bite - of the calamari appetizer. That was just the perfect beginning to a great meal. We went this past weekend for my birthday, and again it was phenomenal. My husband had the succulent braised pork with creamed greens, and I had the bronzed scallops with gouda grits. The waitstaff on both occasions were knowledgeable and friendly. In addition, they gave us special attention for our birthdays. All in all, it was excellent and I recommend the restaurant to anyone who is looking for a great meal for a special occasion.

Pros: Amazing food with a different menu each night, calamari appetizer

Cons: $120 average tab for 2 - drinks, appetizer and entree

.

Love the entrance to the building...you feel like you are entering a secret hide-away. Very cool vibe inside, but I would say the food is fair to good at best. I've had better meals...but I have still gone back here several times, simply because the atmosphere is so unique. So...I gues it can't be that bad!

After having terrible experiences at One Midtown Kitchen and the righteously defunct Pie Bar, I should have known better than to take a chance on another offering from these so-called restauranteurs.

High handed service and lousy food are evidence that the owners of these joints believe that form triumphs over function. Cool room and snooty staff combined will make my ignorant customers think the food is good! Not so!!

To add insult to injury, on our visit there, a young woman at the next table was so drunk that she vom*ted (City Search wouldn't let me write the real word) all over the floor. The manager offered us free dessert! Can you imagine? As if we wanted to continue dining after the technicolor display next door. Uh, thanks, but we'll pass, though we'd appreciate if maybe you comped us something we already ate. Manager also commented, "this kind of thing happens all the time." Remind to find some other lame pseudo-hipster place to eat during my next trip to East Atlanta.

I love this place. It was the first date night me and my boyfriend had together, and we've always gone back for special occasions. I love the simpe but tasty menu, the staff has always been amazing and the whole vibe of the place is cool but mellow. PLUS.. during summer the bocci ball court and outside deck are the best place to sit and have some drinks.

While the food was good and the service friendly, I will never return to this restaurant.

When I dine out, I like to be able to relax and have a conversation with my partner. Unfortunately, the proprietors of TWO urban licks don't seem to realize the importance of this aspect of dining. When we arrived, we were seated at a small table about two feet away from another couple. I was literally closer to the stranger at my side than I was to my partner across the table. Not only could we not have a private conversation, but neither could the other couple. This ruined the entire experience. When I am afforded more privacy and personal space at a fast food restaurant than a fine dining establishment, something is terribly amiss.

One of Atlanta's hippest restaurants, located in the heart of Atlanta, welcomes you to an amazing atmosphere with a wide arrray of tastes, presentations, and excitement. The salmon chips appetizer is a must have, served on a cedar plank and perfect for 2. You'll enjoy the live jazz-inspired music by the bar Tue-Sat as well as the skyline view outside in the courtyard amidst the retractable roof.

This may be one of the coolest places in the ATL. The atmosphere is certainly unique and the crowd is as diverse as you like. Don?t go expecting the best meal you have ever eaten, but the food is good and you just can?t beat this place for an interesting night and all around great time. Be sure to go on a night they have live music. Reservations are certainly required towards the weekend and always on the weekend. It is worth the effort to find this hidden hot spot.

After my meal thats what i did! It was great... They have a variety of seating which is important for Lovers, Business Networking, Birthday Parties, Etc. Upper management work...they help their staff and visit tables to make sure your meal is good. Great for your first date and out of town visitors.

Great atmosphere and great food. The firepit in the kitchen is a nice touch. The wine selection is huge and very good. The food always tasty. I've made it to desert once and it was delicious. I would recommend this to everyone.

My girlfriends and I went here for the first time during midtown's restaurant week..We each got an appetizer, entree and dessert (Ice cream and cookies, yum!) for $25 bucks. This place is so sexy...and the live music really put us in the right vibe. We had an infusion-sort of a fresh fruit flavored vodka..WOW! My best girlfriend even got a number at the bar. This is the place to take your friends or family from out of town! The food is AMAZING!!! I heard it was good, but I could not believe how great it all was, especially for the price. The service is really busy,,so things took a little long, but otherwise it was perfect!

I went last week for the first time for a bday party. The waiter was patient and somehow all 18 people at my table got their meals at the same time. I was really impressed.

About their food, I love their appetizers. I can't say I enjoyed their entrees as much as I enjoyed their appetizers. The salmon chips were insanely good. The gumbo was delicious and their calamari is delicious as well. I ordered the scallops over grits and they were pretty good as well but I'm not sure if I was just full from eating my appetizer or if the appetizers were a tough act to follow, but the scallops didn't seem that special to me. I will say this, they were done perfectly.

yummmmmmm their salmon chips...... agh

This is not a spot for romancing but it's a great place to be seen or have drinks with the girls. The funky decor and wall mural is a conversation point and there's a very nice patio. The dining room is eclectic but loud and the food was tasty although the pork was way too salty and the bread is horrid (but they said they were changing their recipe because so many had complained so hopefully by now they have). It's a fun place to hang out. The empanadas are the best!

Made reservations for TWO when traveling through Atlanta with some friends last year, and the experience is still on my mind. The atmosphere is contemporary, creative, candlelit. The food was phenomenal. I liked how they served chilled water out of old wine bottles. The sorbet sampler dessert was to die for. I ordered duck for the first time, and while I don't think it turned me on to the bird, it was tasty and the sweet potatoes served with were delicious. All four of us there had a great time on a crowded Friday night. Highly recommended!!!

Years after opening, they just can't seem to get custoemr service down. Because you are a trendy place you can exude attitude? HELLO, tell your bar staff they rely on tips to make a living. Walked in on Thursday, "do you have reservations" Uh, no, live next door, I see you are so busy, tables available all over. Please. Totally understandable on a Friday or Saturday night. Atmosphere is nice, food is mediocre and service stinks, still. This place has ruined all of the "concentric restaurants" for me, i refuse to support any of their venues. I think people come here for the atmosphere and singles scene rather than the food and certainly not the service.
