4 Stars: Great chiefs, food, and service (by Jim N.)

I had an important business dinner at Repast and everything went perfectly. The dinner was fantastic and the two chiefs were extremely accommodating. We sat at the chief's table and could see them preparing our dishes. The service was outstanding and it was a memorable experience.

4 Stars: Good food and good service (by aperture)

We tried Repast last night for the first time. We wanted a romantic dinner for 2 to celebrate out wedding anniversary. I saw that the restaurant wasnt noted for romance so when I called to make the booking I asked if they could give us a romantic corner. The hostess was very accommodating and gave me several options, including opening up the upstairs section just for us!

When we arrived at the restaurant we were seated at a two top far from other customers, which was OK. It wasn't the best romantic seating, but given the restaurants layout it was reasonable. The decor was mixed, but there was definitely an asian influence. It was upclass, modern and chic.

Drinks: I had the signature martini - the Repastini - vodka infused with ginger. It was very nice, although a tiny bit sweeter than I would have expected. My wife has a glass of cabernet, recommened by our waitress, that was very smooth and decent value at $15 for the glass.

Appetizers: I had the dates wrapped in bacon. DECLICIOUS! This was actually better than my entree. The sweet gooey dates combined with the slightly crisp bacon worked really well.

Entrees: My wife had the filet mignon and raved about it. She had asked for medium and the steak was really medium-rare, but still good. It came with porcinni mushrooms and cheese pasta with a 4-days-to-make wine sauce. My wife LOVED it. I had the chorizo encrusted pork chop with sprouts, bacon, apple and a turnip and sweet potato gratin. It was good, but not excellent. The pork chop was about 2" thick, which is too thick in my opinion. As a result it was a tiny bit dry in places.

Service: Service was excellent. The waitress was very attentive but we did not feel overly so. The time between courses was just right. To top the meal off, the chef sent us a complementary molten chocolate cake with "happy anniversary" written in chocolate. A very nice unexpected touch.

Only negative was the music - hard rock at times.

5 Stars: I LOVE repast (by rabbitpin)

It has been a year since last time had a dinner at repast restaurant and went back last weekend, It was Saturday night and the place was Packed with midtown crowd. We got there earlier than our reservation so had a cocktail at bar, their coktail and wine list is excellent...we had a "repastini" thier original ginger infused martini, loved it! had two glass each.
The owner/chef ( lovely husband and Japanese wife team ) change the menu every seasons, that's so nice and you don't really find the restaurant like this in Atlanta. We had a appetizers,"pumpkin soup", "Tuna beets salad" and " mussle cook in a coconuts milk" and cheese plates. For main course, Pepper corn crusted sea bass, duck with red wine rissoto and hunger steak. Everything out-standing !! Service is excellent and professional, know about foods and wines.. Don't forget to try their dessert!
We had a such a wonderful time and give them ****** 5 stars!

4 Stars: Another good Atlanta restaurant (by Brandon G.)

I've been here a few times and the food is excellent. It's a little tucked away if you're not familiar with the area, but is well worth it. Decent prices but everything tastes great. You can watch the chef's while they cook your food. Would recommend to everyone.

3 Stars: Not So Great (by kokoATL)

We had been looking forward to dining at Repast for a long time, and finally had a chance to visit during restaurant week. We thought this would be the perfect time to try it out assuming that they would be putting their best foot forward. My husband and I both started with the grilled halloumi cheese. It was very fresh and delicious. The entree was ok. We both ordered the special pork dish (it's not on their normal menu). It seemed like something I could have easily made at home...nothing special. The best part about the entree was the slaw and the sauce. For dessert, I ordered the cheesecake, and he ordered the warm chocolate cake. The cheesecake was excellent. The chocolate cake was ok. The worst part about our visit was parking. Half way through our meal, our waiter (who had been great up until this point) told us he'd have to abandon us for a while to help the valet move cars. Apparently, the valet had been illegally parking cars at City Hall East, and they were starting to tow. Could you imagine leaving your car with a valet at a nice restaurant, and coming out to find it had been towed?!?! Needless to say, this left a bad taste in our mouths. Our car had not been towed, but it did take the valet FOREVER to find it. I doubt we will go back. There are too many other good places in Atlanta...especially in the Inman Park area.

5 Stars: $20 special plus $5wine!!WOW Great deal at repast! (by eggreen)

I found out about $20 deal from web letter. since me and my husband are big fan of repast needed to try out. There is a regular munu plus $20 special menu. Pick one appetizer and an entree, you can chose from 5 dishes. I had a chicken liver mousse for an appetizer and a fish and chips for an entree. Both dishes were so delicious, the size was perfect. and $5 nice glass of white wine.
I highly recommend to try their $20 special. I am planning to go back this week again.

4 Stars: Terrific but with a few significant problems (by neatomosquito)

So here's what I liked about it. The food, the service and the ambience. Yup. The food was good. They've started a new $20/two deal. Not sure why since it looks like very small portions. So....our table of 4 because we were hungry ate off the regular menu. Pate special--outstanding, charcuterie plate--outstanding, beet salad--very good. Porkloin main--outstanding, duck--outstanding, pork belly and scallops--great flavor......real problem with serving size. Two scallops, a dab of cole slaw and a 1/4" x 2" x 4" piece of pork. Oh yeah, a couple of tiny carrots. Not sure what point they were trying to make here because this was at the most appetizer size.....for $20 somethin' dollars!!! Tasted really good. Dessert?? The banana bread is absolutely outstanding!!!! The chocolate pie, not the molten cake was outstanding. So, from a food point of view it lived up to it's reputation. I also liked the ambience and the outdoor seating area was charming.

So what's the problem? Well, in one dish out of 12 served the portion size was way too small. And.....it's noisy as all get out. If you're on a date and you're sitting across the person at the table, you probably won't be able to hear that person. I just spoke to the powers that be there and they said that sitting upstairs might help and didn't seem to have a real concern about it. Too bad. I will have to give it a second thought before I go back. I hate to yell!!! If it weren't for the noise, this would be 5 stars!!!

5 Stars: Best Food in Atlanta (by meggam)

I took a friend to Repast to celebrate a new job and it was amazing. A coworker told me to get Daniel as our server because he's really good with the wines, so we did and he was fabulous with everything. I was warned that the portions were small, but we all need to watch our portions anyways and enjoy what actually goes into a dish- herbs and spices. We had the bacon wrapped dates and they literally melted in our mouths. I had scallops and pork belly, which sounds nasty but it was soo yummy! We also ordered the salmon and it got great reviews as well.

I will honestly say this meal was my very favorite in all of Atlanta.I will be back VERY soon. Yes I've been to Baccanalia, Wisteria blablabla..... Stay hidden Repast, so there's always room for diners who appreciate good food and wine!

2 Stars: pricey, not-great food in small portions (by swissmiss2000)

I have to agree with the negative reviews... and am confused at the enthusiasm of the positive reviews. The ambiance is nice and the service is polite and unobtrusive. But onto the food... We started with the salmon pizzette, which was ok, but too salty and bordering on the oily. We ordered pork cutlets with dried cherry sauce and citrus-mustard topping (or whatever they called it). The cherry sauce was cloyingly sweet, and clashed with the "mustard topping." My best description would be "sweet and sour" gone very bad. We also ordered the macrobiotic composition. (It should have been called "micro macrobiotic")... It consisted of about 3 leaves of baby bok choy, a hunk of uncooked tofu with a too-garlicky green sauce, 3 small cubes of delicious (I wish there were more) stewed kabocha squash, and a few strands of seaweed. We also ordered a side of agnolotti, which were tough on the outside (probably cooked too long). They left a dry, chalky taste in the roof of our mouth. This was our second time there . The first visit was not much better in terms of food or service (we were kept waiting for over 30 minutes past our reservation time). Both times, our stomachs and wallets left hungry, but not for more of Repast's food. Some people may love this place, but we didn't.

5 Stars: The best restaurant 08' (by twotomatoes)

I have been to the repast twice this year already and every time go there we have a such a wnderful time and make us come back again . The food , service and vibes are excellent and different from all other midtown or atlanta restaurants. I don't know why people left hungry? well, repast is not an one plate dish fills you up place, it is more like casual fine dining restaurant, you go there to order appetizer, main and dessert plus cocktail and wine, so I Don't want you to expecting to go there to get an over potions one meal south style dish and sprit the dish with friend. We love to go there for Monday 1/2 price wine deal night. They got a great wine selection too.

5 Stars: Outstanding Food and Service (by arj826)

For my money, the best restaurant in Atlanta. For the serious foodie, you can't beat it. The staff makes every effort to make you feel at home and goes into great detail to explain and give recommendations. I have been here twice and look forward to the third visit.

2 Stars: Small portions, high prices, food inconsistent. (by dannydavis)

Very, very small portions. High prices. Unfriendly cold waiters. Food inconsistent. Strange seating. The valet service is a pain. You park far from the door. Slow to park your car if busy. Slow to retrieve your car. Charge me and let me park myself! If you go, question the size of every dish you order or you just might be very shocked at the extremely tiny serving size.

2 Stars: Agreed - left hungry, food took forever to come, and way overpriced (by caorestaurants)

I completely agree with the review 2 below mine. I read the first review only when I found this restaurant on citysearch. I wish I had read the next review. While the atmosphere is nice (agree with below) and the service friendly (also agree on this), the food took FOREVER to come and was way overpriced for what we got. I was with 2 other people, and we all left hungry after waiting for our food for close to an hour. Scallops entree includes 2 scallops only, for example. Everything seemed really great...until the food came. With so many restaurants in Atlanta, it's hard to know which ones are actually good. After reading the other review similar to this one, I would advise anyone to add this to the list of not so good. I thought maybe we didn't order the right things, was a one time bad experience, etc. but after reading this other review, which is very similar, I think it's safe to say it's just not that great. So, I am also very confused by all the "rave" reviews. Overall, not that great, way overpriced for what you get, and I'm starvinvg right now! The only way I would go back is just to get a drink at the bar.

5 Stars: Best service in atlanta (by atlspyderboy)

We came here for my boyfriends birthday. I had made the reservation online and mentioned that it was his birthday. Upon arriving, we were seated immediately and EVERYONE on the staff who passed by stopped to offer a quick happy birthday. It was very nice. After explaining to the waiter that we were vegan, he made suggestions as to what we might enjoy and the kitchen made changes to our meals to keep with our diets. He even said to call ahead next time and they would make a vegan birthday cake for us! Overall, could not have been better. We WILL be back

3 Stars: Very nice ambience, left hungry (by kcmp)

I'm surprised at all the rave reviews-they are very misleading. Repast is a very nice restaurant but I think that it should also be mentioned that the portions are somewhat small for what you pay-it's "pretty food." It is pricey and you may leave hungry. I understand that great food and restaurants aren't usually based on portions but 4 bite-sized portions of a Halibut special for $26 is not what I consider a meal. I went with friends-all of us were first-timers there. My hanger steak came out burnt and very tough, and I wasn't about to wait another hour and 25 minutes-yes, that's right-for something else to come out. Apparently there was a mix up with our order and our food was given to the wrong table???They were nice enough to give us complimentary mini appetizers-after our own ordered one- as it was later explained that they were unexpectedly slammed and everything was crazy. This appetizer came twice, since we waited so long. The pork cutlet for $24 was also very over-priced. All that said- I highly recommend the Banana Pecan Bread Pudding for dessert. It was delicious. We waited an extremely long time overall-which the management was apologetic for-even offering free dessert for each of us. The staff was very friendly, I'll give them that, but the experience wasn't great. They were sporadic and each time they came to the table, we had to wait at least another 10 minutes before they came back. We sat down at 7:15 only to leave at 10:00 and not because we were just chillin'. We were waiting for food. The food overall was tasty, but for what you get and the price you pay, you can very well have some of the same food elsewhere.

5 Stars: Wonderful addition to lackluster Atlanta dining scene (by teacozy)

While there might be five new restaurants popping up in Atlanta every week, most of them are mediocre at best. Repast is a definite welcome to an otherwise lackluster dining scene. We tried Repast because it was recommended by coworkers and we also had a gift certificate (which really came in handy since many of their dishes are a bit pricey).

Our reservations we made through OpenTable were honored, and we were pleasantly surprised that the restaurant was not at capacity at 6:30pm on a Saturday night. The service was prompt and friendly. The server thoroughly explained the dishes we had questions about. We started with a special appetizer, the Tempura Maitake Mushrooms. They were phenomenal, especially for someone who doesn't eat much fried food, it was so delicately seasoned and was a great introduction to the meticulous attention to flavoring that permeated the rest of our meal.

I tried the Macrobiotic plate which came with four small plates. Each one very different from the next. My favorite of the four was the tofu topped with chantrelle mushrooms and a walnut/pesto/cilantro paste. It was delicious! My next favorite was a shittake, carrot, hijiki and adzuki bean salad. Very good, though slightly dry. Next was a brown rice concoction. I wasn't sure what was in it, and the flavor was very very light, almost to the point of being bland. The last plate was my least favorite because I was expecting it to be a hot dish and it wasn't. It was brussel sprouts and ginger, the ginger was a nice touch, but I think it could been restrained a little bit more.

My boyfriend had the crab cakes off of the appetizer menu, and he devoured them at an astonishing speed. So, I'm guessing they were good. All in all, we were really happy with our experience at Repast. Our only complaint was the price, but with their excellent use of vegetables, meats and spices, it was worth it. I can believe their overhead is quite high since they're using everything fresh.

4 Stars: try the octopus salad (by kjones71)

Unlike many of the other reviews, I went to Repast during restaurant week and had a delightful dining experience. You enter the restaurant through a cute little courtyard patio/waiting area. Once inside, the ambiance is very warm and inviting. They have a partially open kitchen in one corner of the restaurant (it adds a nice, lively touch) with a mezzanine level overlooking the seating below. The dimly-lit dining room with candles flickering makes for a perfect date spot. Although they were pretty booked up whenever I called to make the reservation, they made room for my guest and I within several minutes of arriving. Meanwhile, the bar served as a nice waiting point. Once we got to the table, the server was very knowledgeable even though he informed us that it was only his second week. All of his recommendations were fantastic. The menu offers a good variety, anything from a Kobe burger, to lamb chops, to several types of fish and seafood. My favorite item was the octopus salad, which was to die for. My dining partner ordered the cod special, which has a significant amount of bones still in tact. Overall, it was an awesome dining experience. I will surely go back.

2 Stars: Are you Kidding ? Horrible (by spotorecty)

Good service and location cannot make up for overpriced fare and over hyped food. I want to encourage new restaurants to come to my community but I'm consistently disappointed with Repast. Wine parings suggested by staff are ALWAYS disappointing. Food portions are often of the amuse bouche serving size when you order a dinner portion. Avoid Tomato Fennel soup as it is highly greasy. Scallops where VERY gritty. This is NOT one bad dining experience I had at this restaurant, this is 5 or 6 times because friends want to try it. I and they are giving up on Repast. BTW ... While they have valet parking, it is a nightmare to get your car back.

2 Stars: Never again! Terrible food during restaurant week (by ljpede)

I can only hope that management chose to serve the worst quality cuisine for restaurant week and that this is not standard for Repast. Since it was restaurant week, price was not an issue but the dishes themselves were boring, lacked depth of flavor, and were really somewhat tasteless. We had pork shoulder and chicken which were both the most basic dishes I could imagine...the chicken tasted like the pre-cooked ones you get at Publix...honestly! Dry, tough, and absolutely disgraceful. In typical fashion for restaurants with something to prove, they made us wait at the bar for 30 mins for our 9:15 reservation. We were the last ones in the place and they were cleaning up around us....and it was only 11 or so. The server was nice but that was the only bright spot about this place. FYI...my favorites include Rathbuns, Fritti/Sotto Sotto, Eclipse di Luna, and La Tavola. I would be ashamed if I owned Repast at the quality of the food i served on Friday Aug 31!

5 Stars: My new favorite restaurant in Atlanta (by sweepea)

My new favorite restaurant! What a beautiful space, and the patio is to die for! Cannot wait until the fall to go have drinks on the bright cabana type patio. Speaking of drinks......the repastini was the absolute best cocktail I've had in ages. I was getting tired of my regular old Belvedere martini. Ginger and green tea with French 75. Yummy yummy! We had the foie gras seared and served with a beautiful fig reduction, tomato soup (with it's own little grilled cheese sandwich), mussels with chorizo, roasted pork with potatoes and roast chicken with crunchy olive salad (with wonderful radishes, baby greens and some sort of lemony viniagrette), lemon infused pasta with creme fraiche and chocolate/penut butter potdecreme. With a lovely pinot gris to wash it all down. The service was spot on and very pleasant. As we went for restaurant week, I didn't pay too much attention to the prices on the "real" menu, but one of my fellow diners did, and she said it was very reasonable. Can't wait to go back; might call them now to see if they have any reservations left for tomorrow night.........run, don't walk to repast!

5 Stars: Outstanding meal and service (by wdirkes)

The cab driver wasn't sure where Repast was, but I think they will all know soon. We had a great meal and wine suggested by the chef. The restaurant was on the cusp of changing from the spring menu to the summer menu. Our party of three tried dishes from each. The appetizer of fresh tomatoes and grilled cheese was very flavorful and a nice way to start the evening. My wife had the quail and loved it. My business partner very much enjoyed the grits and shrimp--sounds like an odd combination but it really worked. I had the lamb which was the most flavorful lamb I have tasted outside of Australia.

Repast is not to be missed. Make reservations, it is relatively small. Service was outstanding--even when getting us a cab back to the hotel.

5 Stars: Upscale dining that isn't stuffy... (by smatl)

Repast is my new favorite "fine dining" restaurant. Bacchanalia and the rest are wonderful once a year, but Repast is great upscale dining without the snobbery (and it's a bit more affordable, especially on Mondays with half-priced bottles of wine). I have eaten at Repast 4 times now. My second meal left something to be desired-- my sugar cane skewered scallops were overcooked and the quinoa was flavorless. However, my first and third meals were great-- the duck risotto was creamy and rich and the duck breast with nappa slaw and buckwheat pancake was wonderful (but you have to be sure to get a little bit of everything with each bite-- otherwise the slaw is overpowering and the pancake is bland). On my 4th visit, a large group went late-night and shared a variety of small plates. The cheese plate was to die for and came with marcona almonds. The fritto misto was good, but kind of crumbly-- bigger pieces of vegetables would probably work better. The foie gras hot dog was fun and unique, but more of a novelty than anything. The desserts have been fabulous on every visit-- my favorite is the dark chocolate terrine with pistachios and kosher salt-- wonderful combination.

5 Stars: Amazing Experience! (by lrjr)

My boyfriend recently took me to Repast on my birthday and our expectations were greatly exceeded. We were seated promptly and both the hostess and our server greeted me "Happy Birthday" several times. My boyfriend had the french onion soup and salmon in grape leaves while I had the cheese plate and duck with risotto. The cheese plate was delicious and came with toast squares made with their own bread as well as marcona almonds, pomegranite, and three artisanal cheeses of generous portions. The onion soup was good but I am not much of a fan. The duck was the leanest and tastiest I've ever had and the risotto that accompanied it had plenty of escargot. The salmon was the most surprising, we've never tasted salmon quite like that! It came wrapped in grape leaves on top of an exotic grain salad, the taste was definitely mediterannean and amazing! The chef came out to talk to us and he was very down to earth and personable, he even cleared our plates for us. Then we were treated with an intermezzo of campari grapefruit sorbet with marinated kumquat. For dessert, we shared the chocolate terrine with sea salt, pistachios, and olive oil. It came out with a candle, which was a really nice touch. I could've done without the olive oil but it was definitely an interesting combination, the richness of the chocolate went well with the sea salt. Weeks later and I still cannot forget our outstanding dinner at Repast, I can't wait to return!! Next time, I want to try the Sweetwater 420 mussels and japanese cheesecake.

5 Stars: Above the Fray (by johnsama)

I have been a regular at Repast for several months after I found out about it from a friend. The chefs have crafted a delicious menu with understated elegance using impeccable ingredients. They have an incredible wine list with tons of personality. Definetly not your typical wines that find themselves on most of the fine dining restaurants in Atlanta. Monday is half off any bottle. What a deal considering the wines they carry. Look for great things from this place. They do an excellent job with Foie Gras, either cold or hot thats as good as any that I have had in France. I have eaten in the best restaurants all over the world and this place has a voice of its own. I took and party of six there last week and called ahead and asked the chef\owner Joe for a tasting menu with wine pairings. We had an exceptional 5 course meal with a personal touch. His wine pairings were first rate.

This small restaurant is beyond great. From the drinks, to the appetizers, to the meal, all the way to the dessert, this food haven scores high marks. The chef is outstanding, this was our second time visiting and our second time meeting the chef. He puts so much effort in the food that's prepared, and is generally a really nice guy. Details on the food: I had the trout w/o the bacon---superb! My husband had the double lamb chops---genius! You can't miss with this one--support the independents and visit this restaurant!

My partner and I live in midtown and we had dinner at Repast last week. WOW !!what a great addition to the culinary scene in this town. Having lived in San Fran for the past 15 years, Repast is simply a great restaurant no matter where it is. The food is lovingly prepared and sourced, and the service is impeccable. The wine list is very well thought out with great value and personality. I look forward to being a part of this restaurants evolution.

4 Stars: Taking Atlanta Up a Notch (by pvisf)

Repast is what a local restaurant should be. The bar serves up incredible drinks (one of the best Manhattans I've ever had). The food is very well made from mostly local ingredients, yet the menu doesn't boast about it. And then the food is fun. The foie gras and sweetbreads hot dog is so incredibly good.

Repast is also beautiful and makes the most of its small space. This is great dining without pretensions.

5 Stars: Repast to Repeat (by bheron)

I dined at Repast last week after hearing how good it was from a food snob friend of mine who is hard to please an often dissapoointed with the Atlanta dining scene. As much as I hate hearing him expound on the Mary MacTea Room dining mentality of most Atlantans, he is right about Repast. This is a unique restaurant that delivers a hgh quality experience. Definetly not your big box burn-um and turn-um restaurant that permeates alot of the so called "great dining scene" in Alanta. This is a small chef driven restaurant with alot of heart. The cooking does not rely on portion size, fat or salt to give substance. It is innovative, clean and delicious. A diamond in the rough.

5 Stars: Ate it...... LOVED it! (by foodlover323)

What a beautiful restaurant. I read about this place in Esquire magazine and went in with reservations because I am a food snob. The Atlanta restaurant scene has very little to offer and, being from New York, I am used to the best cuisine in the US. Go to this place. It was jam packed on a Tuesday night. The Salmon was cooked to perfection. So few places in this town understand that a fish like salmon should be served medium rare to medium. I loved everything about this restaurant. Cheers to Esquire for recognizing that some people still try to innovate in a town where very few people understand that they have a palate or even the meaning of the word. Make reservations. I went in without one and wish that I would have called ahead.

5 Stars: THE BIG PICTURE (by suzyqgourmet)

I have been a regular at Repast since I first dined there six months ago. It is interesting to see all the reviews that have been posted about this small gem of a restaurant that has only been open for 9 months or so. That in itself speaks volumes. Why would anyone not want to support an small independent chef driven restaurant that works hard and cares about the guests experience and the food they serve? It has been a pleasure to be a part of Repast's evolution. They have been recognized nationally by Esquire magazine and the Wine Spectator as as one of the best new restuarants in America on the forefront of the emerging culinary scene in Atlanta. CONGRATS TO THE REPAST TEAM, YOU DESERVE IT!!!!!

Overall experience is below average..maybe is because the rating is pretty high so I expected more.
The food wasn't hot enough, I ordered a fish dish....so I assumed it should be hot, not meant to be cold dish.

Fantastic, succulent food. A nice touch was being able to speak to the chef and congratulate him on his impressive restaurant. The bacon wrapped dates are positively sinful. My only complaint is the cramped seating. My husband and I were there to have a romantic dinner to celebrate his birthday, but instead were forced to listen to the guy next to us brag about himself incessantly to his date. And she actually knocked her wine glass over and spilled red wine all over me at one point.

The atmosphere is perfect and the service was great. Our waitress spent a lot of time answering all of our questions about the menu, the specials and the uniqueness of the restaurant. Our party of 6 each ordered something different off the menu and everyone was pleased, rather than wishing you had ordered what your friend was eating. Even something as ordinary as chicken was special at Repast. Their signature martini makes the trip worth it, even to just sit at the bar with a date. Highly recommended.

2 Stars: Very Disappointing (by moorebc1001)

I had read the many wonderful reviews posted on this sight and went into Repast with high expectations. Besides my 2 wonderful martinis, my boyfriend and I were extremely disappointed. Our appetizers were bland, and our entrees were not cooked to either of our satisfaction. The server was attentive, but not the most pleasant person. Also, the place doesn't offer much privacy, so I spent the whole evening listening to the couple at the table next to ours discuss politics and the guy at the table next to them trying to impress his date (and everyone else within earshot-the whole restaurant) with how much money he made.

5 Stars: Fine Slow Food dining and value! (by voicedoctor)

I met Joe the chef on the phone and in the restaurant with his son. Misty, our server, was the consumate host, paying close attention to our party; rather dedicated foodies. Mihoko's macrobiotic composition was a delight to the senses and we shared other dishes that were equally tasty. I could also speak highly of the cheese plate - local cheeses with a variety of textures and flavors. It was interesting to taste the Sweetwater Farms Blue, that was a bit harsh alone, but dissolved elegantly when combined with the compote on the plate. We tried four wines during the meal from a Petite Meunier to a Muscat. And the dinner with wine at under $400 for 6 was a remarkable value for the food, the attention and the atmosphere.

5 Stars: WOW doesn't even capture the experience. (by foodisgood01)

I have been coming to Repast now for several months and I can't find enough ways to say how delightful each experience has been. Of all the times I've been there (6 to 8 times), Joseph has been our server over half the time and my girlfriend and I have nothing but good things to say about the service we were given. The best part about this restaurant is that it doesn't stop with great service. The food is immaculate. The food is always perfectly spiced, but for salt lovers (such as myself), they are not afraid to offer the salt tasting(a tasting of three artisanal salts)
There simply are not enough ways to recommend the restaurant to potential patrons.
JUST GO!

4 Stars: Good ambience but limited selection (by jp1001)

The decor and the ambience was great for a Saturday night out, we left hungry as the food we ordered didn't cut it. But with a limited selection, I'm not sure if we could've done a whole lot better with other choices... Good drinks, though. Service was also pretty good.

5 Stars: Enjoy Repast before the word gets out... it's Atlanta's best kept secret! (by jaytho73)

Delicious bistro inspired something-for-everyone menu with portions large enough to share (the double cut pork chop is superb, as well as the scallops); diverse approachable wine list; excellent presentation. The patio is also great for cocktails and small plates which are amazing! (Try the bacon wrapped stuffed dates with a glass of cava.) Last but not least, you must try the banana bread pudding for dessert. Staff is young and unpretentious and still working out some small details, but overall very courteous. A wonderfull dining experience, and a refreshing addition to the neighborhood. Covered valet parking in the Ponce Spings garage is a nice touch.

I just moved into the ponce-spring neighborhood and wanted to have a nice dinner to celebrate, so I went here. It was so great I ended up coming back within a week. The food was amazing and service was superb. The ambience is perfect. I was blown away by Repast.

3 Stars: Excellent Service; Prices From Hell! (by jaymaygm)

Finally made it to Repast, to check out the hype. Loved the up and coming Poncey-Highland area. Interior, lighting, and wonderful patio were terrific. Service was superb. But the food, we were so dissapointed. Tried the Mussels, only five, and one was not opened. Mussels, not opened, shouldn't be served. Had the pork-chop--$25.00-you've got to be kidding. And it was tough! Owner, Joseph was very gracious. Will give it another try, when things become more grounded.

5 Stars: " Hidden patio lounge" in Midtown. (by atl06)

We saw " Repast " on TV " opening soon" by fine living channel show. and Me and husband were very impressed them how came up with this beautiful restaurant in Midtown Atlanta.
The Food is fablous and the space is gorgious. There is a beautiful modern court yard patio and serves tapas style menu with great wines. Owner / chefs are young sweet husband and wife team and took care of us. " Try their mussle" and " dates" !

5 Stars: Incredible! (by narcissus622)

Knowing the owner from my employment at Chateau Elan, I was very excited by news of Repast's opening. About a month ago, my fiance and I finally found time to have dinner there. This was the best dining experience I've had in quite a while. Where else do you find quick, helpful service; flawless ambience; a wonderful and well-stocked bar; an executive chef/owner who stops by to talk with diners, and exquisite food? Nowhere else in Atlanta, I'd answer.

After read all these great reviews, I could't wait to dine at Repast. Their service was great, especially the owner/chef ( husband & wife team ) are very warm people and care about " EVERYTHING". I had The shrimp, scallop and grits, was fablous!! It was perfect amount and so fresh. The grits taste like the grits( not cheesy and greasy ) and cooked perfect. If you think over priced, you must be used to eat frozen shrimps at " Red lobster or Captain D".
I can not wait to go back and try other dishes.

Very impressed with this new old fourth ward eatery. Only open a month or so and my experience was stellar. Ingredient driven menu in the hands of skilled chefs who have learned not to over do it and let the food do the talking. Look for great things to come when this place matures. Had cocktails on their beautiful patio before dinner. fritto misto, medjool dates, oster stew- braised lamb shank, merluza with artichokes and pork chop all first rate. Gotta have the Japanese style cheescake and banana pecan bread pudding OFF THE CHAIN!

My friends and I went to Repast on Monday night for their "Martini Monday" special. We sat out on their incredibly comfortable patio and enjoyed the best cocktails I've ever had. We will not only be going back for the adorable staff (Joe you made the night a blast!) but also for the Repast Martini...with candy ginger infused vodka...(whatever that really is I'm not too sure but it was amazing!) and the Cantelou-tini...with canteloupe, champagne, and vodka...excellent. Oh-and the food is to die for, get the shrimp and grits you won't regret it.

3 Stars: Seriously Don't Understand the Hype (by 2inmidtown)

I ate here a few weeks ago with friends, they had the shrimp and grits dish and for the money, I would have expected more than 2 shrimp, 2 medium scallops and not much more than 2 tablespoons of under cooked grits. We honestly thought it was an appetizer when we saw the portion size on another table; if we had known, my friends would have ordered something else. I had steak frites, it was ok, but certainly not great. The interior is very nice and the service was attentive without being overwhelming, but the food definitely didn't match the price. Maybe with some work it will be better, but it will be a while before I try again.

Heard about this place from a friend in the neighborhood and my wife and I ate dinner there this evening. WOW! Was not expecting to find this type of quality and sincereity in this neck of the woods. Atmosphere, decor, service and food were in sync with each other. Sweetwater 420 mussels with goat cheese were off the chain as was the tomato fennel soup with a mini grilled cheese. Entrees were stellar, best hanger steak I have ever eatenand my wife had the merluza ( hake as we were told) which reminded us of a summer spent in Spain. Great wine list with 50% off bottles on MON and TUES nights.

3 Stars: Interesting - but not for me (by destro)

Nice establishment with friendly service. The chefs at Repast have a very earthy palate. I'm personally not a fan of earthy food. They have great bread, though. I had the Duck with escargot risotto. The duck was fine but the risotto and snails had a mossy taste to them - almost like dank shrimp. Escargot usually has a more butter/garlic taste from my experience which I think would be great with risotto. Theirs was a little too funky for me. My date had the chicken - which was also fine - but the sauce tasted like Allsport or Hi-C... it was very strange. To those that are into that beet/earthy taste I bet this place is awesome. it's definitely different But not for me.

This place was wonderful! We were promptly seated and promptly served by a very knowledgable and perky server. We order 3 appetizers, all of which were delicious. Of all the 4 entree's we ordered, I could not even begin to pick a favorite. Dessert was just as good. The manager, chef, and bartender all greeted us at different times and were very friendly and cordial. I would definatlely reccomend this restaurant for a first date, or even a 20th date.
