Message from Loca Luna

The New Loca Luna has arrived at 550 Amsterdam Avenue in Midtown! The new spot still has the waterfalls, bamboo, palm trees, koi ponds, extended patio, private rooms and festive atmosphere We also have added an upgraded sound and video system and tons of free parking. We are still the best Latin dining and entertainment venue in Atlanta, and look forward to welcoming all our old and new friends to the New Loca Luna!

Editorial by Citysearch

The Scene
Loca Luna works the tropical theme--and works it hard. Intense splashes of primary color meet the eye at every turn. The dilemma of a less-than-inspiring view of a parking lot is solved by painting idyllic seaside vistas into pretend windows. The expansive interior courtyard adds to the sense of escape from Midtown and makes a great spot for that large group get-together.

The Draw
The place borders on "get on the banana boat" silliness, but it's blessed with an infectiously festive atmosphere and killer grooves courtesy of the house samba band. When the place is packed and the rum is flowing, you might think, just for a minute, that you're in Ipanema. Lula frita, bife com banana, brochette de galinha: You don't have to know what they are--these tasty Brazilian dishes are reason enough to venture to Loca Luna. It's a tapas restaurant, so order several and share.

Key Points

  • Live Latin Music
  • Tapas & Exotic Drinks
  • Dancing

The Inside Scoop

  1. When to Go - It's mobbed on weekends. Make reservations and arrive on time. Tables are held for 20 minutes max and all members of your party must be present. Want laid-back? Try Tuesday or Wednesday.
  2. The Extras - For a unique keepsake, Loca Luna sells a $265 bottle of Piper-Heidsieck champagne dressed in a red vinyl corset designed by Jean Paul Gaultier.
  3. Know Before You Go - Loca Luna can set a menu for groups of 20 or more. A 20% deposit is required to hold a reservation.

Loved the old location better

by andrea b. | insider_expert Insider Expert | Rank: 8,893

When they moved, they lost their zip. Food not as good, atmosphere too commercial, and drinks over priced. I love tapas but this place just doesn't get it anymore. Their old location was the first time I had mojitos and tapas and I was hooked. But now, this isn't the place to get them. Sad because it was a great place.

Very fun tapas restaurant

by Dan T. | insider_guru Insider Guru | Rank: 789

Loca Luna is a very fun tapas restaurant that gets even better as it gets later. Its a very fun place to hang out and have some drinks, and you can't miss it if you're into salsa, samba or merengue.

Fun evening out

by Bananas2531

My fiance and I usually come here if we feel like dancing some merengue, salsa and bachata. So we usually don't make it for the food beforehand, but for the party afterwards. We always have a good time there. It can get really hot and crowded, but it's better than empty!

Pros: Great music and dancing, drink prices aren't bad

Cons: Can be very crowded

Really Bad Business

by laineysam

After my second experience with Loca Luna during which, they changed a promotion after advertising it, I felt I had to share this with the public.

I have a large group of friends and we frequent venues such as Loca Luna often because of their ability to sit large parties on the patio. We were going to visit for a friend's birthday on Cinco de Mayo and after advertising one price, when we got to the door, they were charging double that.

A similar incident happened today. I made reservations last week after seeing an email that said "All you can eat and drink for $25 on Tuesdays." I also confirmed it with their OFFICIAL WEBSITE. When the person at Loca Luna called me to confirm on Sunday, I asked her if the promotion was still in effect and she said, "Most definitely." My reservation was for 7:00 for ten people. At 4:03, someone from the restaurant called to tell me they would not be able to honor the promotion. I pulled up the website and told him that it clearly said on their website that Tuesday nights were "all you can eat and drink for $25." He said he knew that, but they were not honoring it.

Not only that, but the guy was rude and blaming it on "promotions." How is that Promotions fault?

I could understand if it happened once, but it happened the only two times I tried to take advantage of a promotion at Loca Luna and I will NEVER visit the establishment again. Integrity isn't something you dabble in, Loca Luna. And obviously you don't have it.

Cons: False Advertisements

Great food, atmosphere, and music

by kl2

My girlfriends and I went out for my birthday and this was a perfect place to go with a group. While sitting on the patio, we shared a bunch of different items such as the goat cheese, plantains with coconut milk, ceviche, chicken kabobs, and not to forget the fish tacos. They were all EXCELLENT!! (The fish tacos had fantastic flavors with a great kick!) Our waiter was very helpful and was always there to take our on going orders. Definitely a place to enjoy with friends while taking in the music from the band. We will be going back in the near future! Good job, Loca Luna!!

Pros: perfect portion sizes

Cons: Some of the drinks could be better

Hollwood comes to Loca Luna!

by AtlantaCityGal

What an unsuspecting surprise to venture out for tapas and drinks only to find yourself in the middle of a Hollywood Who's Who at Loca Luna! A couple of my friends and I headed to Loca last Friday night for dinner and drinks. Once inside we realized Loca was hosting a party for Bill Murray, Robert Duvall, Sissy Spacek and the entire cast and crew of the upcoming movie Down Low which had just finished filming in Atlanta on Friday. It was quite surreal to look over at the band and see Bill Murray playing the bongos! Of course the Wrap Party (as it was called) had its own section of the restaurant (the main dance area and patio) for a few hours in the early evening but around 9pm the VIP ropes were removed and the party was opened to everyone.

I can say the celebs were more than happy to take photos and dance the night away with us regular folks!

Another great night at Loca! The sangria and mojito's were perfectly poured and our tapas were great - I am partial to the Golden Beet Lollipops, the Yellowfin Tuna Ceviche, the Balsamic Ribs, the fried Manchego with Quince Paste, the Fried Plantains, the Tacos de Pollo, the Calamari, the Lobster Bisque Shots and their Mussels. Oh and the sauteed spinach and mac and cheese are great, too!

As for previous posts about Loca being closed, that's just not true. They are open Tuesday through Sunday. If you haven't been to Loca Luna since the days of their old location on 6th street, I highly recommend you check them out at the new spot at Amsterdam Walk. The patio is AWESOME in spring!

Pros: Yellowfin Tuna Ceviche, Tacos de Pollo, Fried Manchego - YUM!!!

Cons: None for me!

Business must be closed!!!

We went there twice, once on Monday and the door said closed on Monday. Went the next Tuesday and it was still closed. It would have been nice to update the notes on the door or the voicemail to read closed.

Loca Luna as great as EVER!

by brooksidenc

To date we have never had a dish that we have not loved. We do not go there for the nightlife. We go with friends for the food. I have read many reviews about the nightlife... someday we will have to stick around later in the evening to experience what others are raving about. FAV TAPAS: Fish Tacos, Calamari, Ceviches & Ribs that melt off the bone.

Pros: Best Tapas in TOWN!

Cons: Waited a little while for drinks to be refilled

Not What it Used to Be

by Babsinblogland

I went to LL on Friday with a group of friends. It was not my first time so I pretty much knew what to expect- average food, decent drinks, good music and tons of people. Well, the music was good and that's about it. The food is still average and so were the drinks. There definitely weren't the same crowds as in the past so it seems as if people are heading elsewhere for their Friday nights.

The worst part of the evening was the service. We had a group of about 10 people. Our server, Donnie, started out fine taking orders and getting us our drinks. That quickly ended, and Donnie was no where to be found. The last time I saw him, he took our water pitcher and disappeared. The water was never brought baack out, plates were never cleared and we were never offered the opportunity to order more drinks. We were there TO DRINK so this was really disappointing. By the time he finally made another appearance my buzz had started to wear off and I figured ordering another drink was pointless.

I guess he figured that since we were a party of ten and he was guaranteed a 20 percent tip, he didn't owe us anything. Well he is the one that lost out because he would have received 20 percent of every extra drink we ordered.

I doubt I will ever go to or recommend loca luna again. There are far too many places in the area where my group of girls and I can go for good food, fun and most importantly SERVICE.

Pros: Live music is good and you can always dance

Cons: Horrible service if you have more than 4 people in your party

I love the music and dancing at Loca Luna.
I also like that you can walk into the outdoor

talk. A great place for a night out!

Pros: Always a good time!

Cons: Far to drive from Canton

THEY NEED AIR CONDITIONING!!!

by Angeezy

What a great club to go out dancing. Only problem is, they keep all the doors shut and there's NO AIR in that place. As crowded as it is, that's ridiculous and I think it's going to cause them to lose a lot of business. Other than that, it's a very fun club!

Their Cocktails Are Not Professionally Mixed

by ontheeats

Loca Luna has a large facility including a long bar side, mobile tables and slim chairs indoors and outdoors that can be put away or moved easily to accomodate more space. There is a dance floor area next to a live band stage; giving an overall pleasant of a so called latin tropical experience. As for the drinks I warn you about the cost and taste. I paid 8.50 for a horrible tasteless Long Island Ice Tea cocktail and some new friends bought a pitcher of Saint Gria for 25.00 that tasted like ice water with a tint of grapey winey fruits. My goodness I have trouble paying my gas, fix me a real drink!! If you enjoy the tastes of drinks with satisfication don't ask for one here, because you will be embarrased how this bartender mixes a drink. My advice is don't go if you want to get ripped by someone making a killing off tabs that has no right making an expensive cocktail.

great food

by piedone

This place is now on Amsterdam near the Park. The small plates were great, we were seated promptly at the upper level. This made the craziness downstairs more tolerable, but it was a bit too hot. Downstairs, near the bar, there is a serious dating scene and the music (on the week-ends at least) is at full blast. The service was a bit slow, but generally OK. the mojitos were too sweet I thought.

Pros: food

Cons: the noise level

Best Foodie Experience in Atlanta ever!

by 2truefoodie

BEST FOODIE EXPERIENCE! A group of 7 girlfriends went to this restaurant on 2/29/08. We had dinner reservations made through Open Table, yet I did call the actual restaurant the day before to ensure that this was honored. NO problems.
PROS: (1) The food was fantastic. I am not a picky eater, but I can tell the difference between good food and great food and Loca Luna dishes were SUPERB! It was a large group so we tried many items yet didn't leave room desert. The calamari, butternut empanadas, spare ribs and spinach were my ultimate favorites. Everything on the table to eat was wonderful, fish taco, traditional empanadas, potatoes, flat iron steak, etc! (2) Peter the bartender; the best. I was compelled to give him an extra tip even though a customary tip was added to the table because of the size of our party. Thoughts of his Tropical mojito make me want to make the trip there now. (3) The vibe of the place is great as well. The band is a wonderful plus. (4) Our server was good and extra runners brought out most of our very large order quickly.
CONS: (1) Bartender's drinks could be more consistent. If Peter didn?t make it, it wasn?t worth drinking, but I know who to go to for my drinks. (2) It rained that night so sitting outside was a little challenging due to some rain coming through their covering. I would usually pitch a fit about something like that, but the dining experience was so positive, who cares!
BOTTOM LINE: Give Loca Luna a try. I have only been there once, but I will go again and hope to have another great experience.

Pros: Excellent food, ambience and drinks

Cons: ALL bartenders need to be trained by Peter for consistency

Worst service! terrible experience

by lcl59

I made a reservation for my birthday for a group. When I made the reservation all I was told was to get there a little bit early to secure the table. We got there and ordered drinks and appetizers. We had been there for about 30 minutes and the waitor rudely told us we had 15 more minutes to get up and leave. I asked why and he said that the we could only stay at the table for 45 minutes. At no point while I reserved the table was I told there was a time limit in sitting down and eating. The waitor crossed the line by saying "you can't just sit here and not order anything." Every person in my group had ordered food and drinks and the tab was huge! My friend waited an additional 15 minutes to see the manager and never got to see him. They almost ruined my birthday but we somewhere else. I went there because it supposedly is a latin scene and I am Latina. This is NOT a latin scene. It's more like Loca Gringos! I will never go there again.

Pros: Nice decor

Cons: Poor service

Don't Believe It All

by dontbelieveit

Sorry, but I have been told that as a rule, employees are still encouraged to write reviews.
This should make the critical reader wonder if any of the recent reviews can be trusted.

Actually, besides my personal dissatisfaction, friends who have long stopped visiting as well and gave it another shot at the new local, have all said pretty much the same thing. Not such a cool late night vibe.

The problem is the later crowd. Where does they come from anyway?
Younger and a bit more more down and out is a fair description.
Especially as it gets to be later on Fridays and Saturdays, it seems.

Few older guest -- let's say over 30 -- who have reached a more discerning level of company will enjoy a crowd that is, well, a bit rough.

While the food has maintained its quality, skip the later night plans here -- even though the bands are certainly OK.

Oh, and be careful. There have been some crimes reported in the parking lot.
How about some more security, please?

Sorry, it's just too rough for the time being for this guy to hang out where I don't feel completely safe.

Had a Great Experience !!

by amglobal99

I recently took my entire family to Loca Luna. This was the first time we were going there so wasn't sure what to expect. We were seated promptly ( on the patio) by the lady at the front desk. We realized that we preferred to be inside where the band was playing - so we requested that with Casey ( our server). Casey promptly gave us a great table ( which had been reserved for the owners). Casey is the best server we have had anywhere.

He made our evening special. Right from asking us if this was our first time there to explaining the menu and the portion sizes etc .....everything was just perfect.

The food was delicious ( we loved the Fish Tacos - I still have visions of the Caramel Flan) ..... all items were served very promptly ( within 10 minutes each time ). The music was great and we loved watching people dance. It was an extremely enjoyable evening and our family will be going there soon.

Pros: delicious food, excellent service, dancing

Cons: none for now

Get Low movie wrap party!!!!

by rumcat

As to the previous two entries, Loca Luna is DEFINITELY NOT closed!!!! They are closed on Mondays though.

When I stopped by for some drinks and tapas this past Friday, I stumbled upon a wrap party for the movie Get Low . They had a portion of the restaurant closed until 9:00 or so for the cast and crew. The cast that was there included Bill Murray, Robert Duvall and Sissy Spacek. Loca Luna opened up the event after awhile and all the celebrities were very welcoming and approachable. While I didn't eat this time, I did get to have some cocktails with some really amazing actors. I got my photos taken too! Now that the patio walls are rolled up, I will be enjoying the Spring weather a lot at Loca Luna this Summer! Thanks again for a great evening!

Pros: Food, music Fun

Cons: None for me

Great Tapas, Great Vibes!

by tj26

I went here this weekend for a Girls Night Out. I was wary of the whole tapas thing, having heard mixed reviews from someone who went to Pura Vida (and spent a fortune). So I was prepared to leave Loca broke and hungry but oh how I was surprised. I over ordered with a plate of fish tacos, an order of calamari and a Mojito. The food was served promptly, and very fresh, plus the portion sizes were great. After eating my share and passing plates around to others, we were all satisfied and none spent more than $30. The service was curteous and experienced, she promptly split the check 6 ways with gratuity included, which was very convenient. After dinner, we danced and laughed in the adjoining room with the live band. I felt like I was watching an episode of Dancing with the Stars or something, the regulars were grooving. This was the perfect way to spend an evening with a group of friends or even a date.

Pros: Great prices, Large portions, See and be Scene!

Cons: Tight dance floor/bar area

by dolly5

I've taken small groups, I've taken large groups (my wedding party, in fact!). Management was helpful and courteous - even though I could tell he had a hundred things going on. The service has always been incredible, the food too! This is by far one of the best places in Atlanta to take a date, a group of friends, out of town guests, whatever. The patio is gorgeous and the people watching is first rate. Go... go now.

Pros: the food really is amazing; the patio

Cons: unless you think drunk people making a spectacle of themselves is a con... I can't think of a thing

Delectable Dishes, Sparkling Service

by famousmockingbird

I will definitely return to Loca Luna very soon after my latest experience there over the holiday weekend. I brought a friend who had never been there before who I promised a good experience and tasty food. What we got was beyond our expectations....Delectable Dishes and Sparkling Service. We dined on plate after plate of creatively prepared tapas that were both cooked properly and seasoned with care. Our server Allison was quick and precise but with all the grace in the world (and a very nice smile as well).
I have created a new customer with my friend and we will both return soon to our new favorite tapas paradise.

Pros: casual, fun, excellent food

Cons: there can be a wait on the weekends

Much, Much Better....

by pintsetter

I have left Loca Luna the past few times that I have eaten there very unhappy. I decided to give it one last chance and I left smiling and ready to go back. Something has changed.
Our server was a young man named Joseph. We wanted to order a bottle of wine and he was both enthusiastic and well learned with the wine list. The thing that impressed me most was the fact that he was trying to lead us toward a bottle we would like and not the most expensive on the list.
The food was outstanding. It arrived at the table as the wine was being poured and every item we ordered was seasoned perfectly. I usually ask for salt but it was not needed.
Well worth the second chance.

Pros: Everthing but the parking

Cons: Parking.

Good Tapas

by tiffnicky

I really liked Loca Luna until I went to Eclipse di Luna. HOwever, on its own, Loca Luna is a good restaurant with a different ambience than Eclipse di Luna. I would highly recommend making reservations on the weekend. With reservations, we were seated promptly (but not until everyone in our party was present). Once seated in the patio, we immediately smelled smoke. At the table next to us, a large party of women was smoking. When I asked to be moved, the server informed me that the whole restaurant was smoking and that we could be moved but there would be no guarantee that the same problem would occur. However, she also informed us that it would be difficult to move us since we were already seated and seating was limited. For the rest of the evening, I enjoyed cigarette smoke with my meal. I ordered some chips and queso dip, but the dip was cold. Queso is supposed to be hot and tastes better hot, not cold. My friend ordered Riesling wine and the bartender gave her something else that was definitely not Riseling. The other dishes we ordered were good, including the plantains, the bistec, and the shrimp. But I definitely enjoyed the food at Eclipse better.

Pros: Food was good

Friday Night Birthday Party-Tapas, Sangria, & Dancing! Celebrate With A Beat!

by jaymaygm

This past Friday night, was another 40th. Birthday Party, again, for the same person, third time around. And we always go to the wild and crazy Loca Luna. LL has some of the best Tapas anywhere in the ATL. Our jovial waitron started bringing us multiple pitchers of Sangria, laden with fresh fruit. Some of the tasty Tapas I can remember were the Sauteed Shrimp w/Spicy Coconut Cream, Calamari w/Pico De Gallo, and those wonderful Crisp Fried Potatoes w/Roasted Pepper Aioli. About that time the Brazilian band kicked in, and so did the Sangria. I don't know how I remembered to do the Salsa, but I do remember one great party at Loca Luna!

Pros: Creative Tapas, Wonderful Drinks, and Great Dancing Music!

Cons: Parking Can Be Tricky, If Driving!

ABSOLUTELY OBNOXIOUS SERVICE

by aperez1

After using this restaurant for my law firm's recruiting events and lunches, I will NEVER return to Loca Luna again. I planned a brithday party for a friend and 17 other people. I called THREE times during the week to confirm the logistics with Loca Luna. However, they sat us at a table for 12 and forgot 6 chairs. The management then tried to tell me that at a tapas restaurant, customers are suppose to "sit very close." The manager then proceeded to give me a tour of the restaurant to show me "how close" the patrons sit. WHO CARES?!?! At one point, the manager finally offered to sit us at a larger table. However, it wasn't until a hour later and after we were served our food, that the table became available.

The fact is they screwed up and DIDN'T CARE. When I asked them to please compensate my friend for ruining her birthday, they said "no" and that they "were doing the best they could." What the hell?

Loca Luna is a second-rate restaurant with terrible service.

Cons: Everything, including terrible service

Great food, service, atmosphere

by eevans11

I went this past Friday night and everything went smoothly. Our reservations were for a party of nine but they had no problem when we cut it down to only six. Arthur was our waiter and would highly recommend him. His service was great, always there to check up on us, got everyones orders right and didn't make us feel rushed or slowed down. The food was excellent, it was very artistic and just the right price for the service and quality we got. Parking nearby was $10, but it is just what you would expect anywhere in downtown Atlanta. I wouldn't say that was a con. The music and the atmosphere was just what I expected, with the Latin music and beautiful pond.

Pros: Great atmosphere, food, and service

Cons: None

Fun atmosphere

by bildosmiles420

This place is a little confusing to find, it's around a lot of one way streets so if you miss it once you're driving around in circles. And parking was horrible, we had to pay $10 in a nearby lot. Love the inside, the place is huge and the atmosphere is great. Food, although very basic is good but not great. Was disappointed that there were no ceviches. Prices are good though. Did not care for my caipirinha, it tasted like it was made with tequila. Pura Vida's are much better, as well as their tapas (much more creative). Service was efficient and nice enough but I wouldn't say overly friendly. Would definitely like to try it again sometime, maybe in the spring they'll have some ceviches on the menu, and I hear they have a great patio.

Pros: Atmosphere

Cons: parking

Not Brazilian but still good

by peachpixi

This restaurant pops up under Brazilian cuisine. It is not Brazilian, but it is good. Its got a Latin Fusion Tapas thing going on: empanadas and fish tacos. For lunch the service is never good, but the drinks are. No matter what time you visit, the server will always tell you that the kitchen is about to close. Visit at night for a completely different atmosphere. Hot.

Pros: Location, great drinks, great prices

Cons: Poor service, limited parking, music not that great.

Best Live Spanish Music

by tequilla_sunrise

I've been here several times with friends and we always have a memorable experience. Love the atmosphere- rustic tropical vibe and a diverse crowd of people from everywhere. Great band on Friday nights, DJ on Saturday not bad either. Food ok but not very filling (mainly tapas). Nice drink selection, from strawberry margaritas to pearl necklaces. It's also one of the best places you can go in Atlanta if you're under 21. Try to park on Piedmont Rd or one of the lots on Juniper- Loca charges $10 for their lot. Other qualms: because it gets so crowded, expect to wait a good 5-10 minutes for the unisex bathroom.

Pros: Great after-hours scene, good for under 21, love the live music

Cons: Crowded, parking $10, long wait for bathroom

Forget Fridays! Saturdays are the BEST!

by atl85

Forget Fridays! Saturdays are BEST!
I went this Saturday ngiht and all I have to say is WOW! The music and atmosphere was excellent. From the Salsa Band performing & sounding extremely well to the Dj plating all different types of music. I even heard some Michael Jackson & Bob Marley. That is great, not just Latin. I went before for saturdays, but now it is awesome....good improvements. Free Admission for everyone on Saturdays which is great for my budget. We got there around 11pm and there was a incredible energy and amount of people. A tip: make reservations to eat. You will not find a table if you arrive after 9pm and plan to eat. Also make sure to park at the entrance of Loca Luna. We left when it closed (around 2:50am) and there were still hundreds of people there. Me and my friends will definetly will go back again.

Loved it!

by asm775

My girlfriends and I used to go to Loca Luna nearly every weekend before I got married and we had a BLAST! The live music is AMAZING and the ambience is great. We met a lot of interesting people, lots of dancing, and if Jeff is still one of the bartenders (and you're reasonably attractive), he is SUPER easy! One kiss and he'll give you free drinks all night long! I don't particularly care for the food there, though. I have traveled to Latin American countries and the food at Loca Luna doesn't compare. I wouldn't even eat there out of convenience. Go dance, have fun, and get your free drinks, ladies!

Pros: Atmosphere, Live Music, Nice Bartenders

Great spot for drinking and dining

by circlette

This is one of my favorite restaurants in Atlanta. My husband and I are regulars at the wonderful wine tastings and have always had terrific food and service as icing on the cake. My favorite tapas are the tacos, calamari, and spicy oysters...but I've never had a bad dish here and have tried most everything on the menu. Go and enjoy!

Pros: ambiance, service, value

Awesome Place

by poshangel

I went there with some friends, and we had so much fun, we've gone back about 4 times, and I'm going there this wkend too. They have live music, and even if u cant salsa its still so much fun, and there's a diverse group of people.

At first its like a restaurant and it later converts into ful on dance floor, and the oher section is made to look like your outside, its such a pretty place. And some of us were under 21 (19,20) so we payed just $5 bucks. They also have really hot guys there sometimes. other time, so so

Pros: Cheap, Beutiful, Nice Crowd

great for parties

by oburrell7

i had my 21st birthday party there and everyone had a great time! the manager worked really hard with me before the party to get everything situated and the atmosphere was very lively and fun! The band was great, but it does get really crowded after 12. It was worth the $5 for parking. The drinks were excellent, some did complain about the food but I loved it and can't wait to go back!

Pros: inexpensive, great drinks, lively

Cons: crowded, loud, not best service

Worth the parking

by kikiabom

Endure the $10 parking for a great time! We've been twice on different weeknights and it's been a blast both times. The service is fast, the food is good and reasonably priced and the Mojitos can't be beat. Best Latin music and dancing in town.

Pros: Music, Food/Drinking, Dancing

Sour Maragritas

by marymerc

The margaritas at Loca Luna should not be rated higher than Gecko Lounge. Every time I've ordered one, I've had to send it back for them to make me a better one.

Pros: Music, Food , Atmosphere

Cons: Very Crowded, Poor Magaritas

Bring a megaphone...

by lemonlimeGA

if you want to be able to talk around your table. The concept of an multi-appetizer dinner really does work here. The band (with rainstick mastery), was very appropriate for the overall atmoshere of the restaurant. The crowd is very young and attractive -- if you are over 30, you better be keeping an eye out for being the next Solent Green victim and being fed to Tech students. The service was pretty bad, but not unexpected for bar that strives to be as trendy and noisy as possible.

Pros: Food

Cons: Noisy, Service

Shake your groove thing!

by dude_in_georgia

I was in town from Columbus, GA visiting a friend. We were looking for something to do after a Hawks game. Loca Luna was suggested, and what a great suggestion it was. We arrived around 10pm on a Saturday night. The place was already packed. We didn't eat, so I can't comment on the food, other than it looked and smelled great. The house band, Ruo 6, was the highlight. If you didn't feel like dancing, you were in a coma. This place is highly recommended. And guys, eye candy aplenty!

Pros: Music, Atmosphere, Dancing

Cons: Crowded

Fun

by lindros2

For a new Atlantan, I checked out Loca Luna on a Friday night. Good time, semi-friendly people, strong drinks, and hip place. Bathrooms could be bigger, though...
