The New Loca Luna has arrived at 550 Amsterdam Avenue in Midtown! The new spot still has the waterfalls, bamboo, palm trees, koi ponds, extended patio, private rooms and festive atmosphere We also have added an upgraded sound and video system and tons of free parking. We are still the best Latin dining and entertainment venue in Atlanta, and look forward to welcoming all our old and new friends to the New Loca Luna!

The Scene
Loca Luna works the tropical theme--and works it hard. Intense splashes of primary color meet the eye at every turn. The dilemma of a less-than-inspiring view of a parking lot is solved by painting idyllic seaside vistas into pretend windows. The expansive interior courtyard adds to the sense of escape from Midtown and makes a great spot for that large group get-together.

The Draw
The place borders on "get on the banana boat" silliness, but it's blessed with an infectiously festive atmosphere and killer grooves courtesy of the house samba band. When the place is packed and the rum is flowing, you might think, just for a minute, that you're in Ipanema. Lula frita, bife com banana, brochette de galinha: You don't have to know what they are--these tasty Brazilian dishes are reason enough to venture to Loca Luna. It's a tapas restaurant, so order several and share.

When to Go - It's mobbed on weekends. Make reservations and arrive on time. Tables are held for 20 minutes max and all members of your party must be present. Want laid-back? Try Tuesday or Wednesday.
The Extras - For a unique keepsake, Loca Luna sells a $265 bottle of Piper-Heidsieck champagne dressed in a red vinyl corset designed by Jean Paul Gaultier.
Know Before You Go - Loca Luna can set a menu for groups of 20 or more. A 20% deposit is required to hold a reservation.

Fun place. Lively & tropical. The only thing missing was the ocean breeze and salty air!! The tapas and sangarias (though a little on the weak side) are a treat.

A wonderful festive atmosphere perfect for a birthday celebration or for taking out of towners. Order lots of tapas--I've never had a dish here I didn't like--get a pitcher of sangria and let the party begin.

Great atmosphere, cozy date spot

When we went to Loca Luna 2 months ago, we did not have any trouble with the waitstaff.
The music was really great! It wasn't too loud either like some bars you go to & end up feeling deaf afterwards.
The atmosphere is so cozy! You really feel like your thousands of miles away from Atlanta! The decor is incredible.
The only thing I didn't dig was only 1 toilet for the women - so there was a considerable line all evening while some women took a ridiculous amount of time in there doing who knows what.
I'd go there again! Guys, it would be a great place to take someone on a first date!

Pros: great atmosphere, wonderful music, parking was good

Cons: only 1 john for gals, drinks a bit weak, too small
