Loved Dr. Bills - Bashuk was still there when I was (son born 3/2/10) as well as Hsaio - really liked Dr. Bills, but Dr. Hsaio performed my son's circumsion in the hospital and was great as well. I would love to use Alliance for our 2nd pregnancy, but we have moved.
I will be calling Alliance though and trying to get a referral to another OB in our area...would highly recommend this office and Dr. Bills especially.
I have had four different doctors tell me I needed to have a hysterectomy, but I was having trouble finding one that would listen to me. One doctor said since I had a c-section she would have to cut me through the same incision. Another said he needed to take my ovaries out too, and the other two wouldn't even answer my questions.
Dr. Bills listened to me. He did an ultrasound and showed me where all my bleeding was coming from (and he showed me my normal ovaries).
He did the entire surgery through my bellybutton. Not even the robot doctors could do that! www.sils. com/bellybuttonsurgery is the website that I found him on. You can't even see a scar! He was awesome
The office staff is rude and disrespectful. my appointment time got messed up by the staff, so they asked me to come back at a later time the same day, and they didnt even apologize for their mistake, or for inconveniencing me by asking me to come back. I went back to the office later in the afternoon as they asked me too, and when they asked me for my copayment, i reached in my purse to find my wallet, only to realize i left it at home due to changing purses.
I explained to them that i left my wallet and can pay later, and ive been going to them for over a year, never missed a $15 co payment .
I spoke to office manager who happens to be Dr. Bill's wife, and she saw that i never miss a payment, but still refused to allow me to see a gynecologist for my health issue, just because i didnt have my wallet to pay the $15 co payment,!
That was the last straw for me, as they have made many mistakes, one being getting my nationality wrong in the system, scheduling my appointments incorrectly, and being rushed by Dr Bills on some of my office visits!
If i pay my money over a year to a doctors office on time, i do not want to be rushed, and i dont want to interact with RUDE office staff, and lastly and most importantly, i do not want to do business with people who have no compassion and care more about a $15 copayment more than a patients health!
Every time I see Dr. Bashuk he acts like my long lost friend. He remembers delivering Joshua like it was yesterday. He never gave me any grief about missing appointments, but his staff always does.
Pros: Dr. Bashuk acts like my friend
Cons: staff is too uptight
I had both my kids with this group after transferring from one of the "mega" groups. It is great that each of the three doctors know me (and my diabetes) as a person, not just another piece of cattle in the office. The only problem is that you can't slip anything past their office staff. At the mega group, I could slip by a lot of the time without paying my copay and get away with it. It seems like the negative reviews are mainly about that.
Pros: Each doctor is a pro, short wait time
Cons: Office staff won't let me slip anything by them.
I went to see Dr. Bills for my annual exam at a time when my husband and I had been trying to get pregnant for about 5 months. I had some concerns about this and Dr. Bills put my mind to rest and reassured me that I should be fine conceiving a child.
However, a couple months after my visit, I used their website to "Send the nurse" option and asked a question regarding my efforts to get pregant, a question that I hadn't thought to ask the doctor. The response I received was basically "We told you at your last appointment that the definition of infertility is trying unsuccessfully for 12 months. Either wait the 12 months or have your husband go to a urologist."
I am looking to find an OB-GYN to work with through out pregnancy and this response told me that whoever responded to me could not be bothered to actually answer my question. Lastly, I paid my co-pay at the office and another company that they used for testing my pap sent me a bill. When I called Alliance about it, they told me to call the testing company and straighten it out. Thanks, very helpful. I am going to go elsewhere to a OB-GYN that has better office staff and customer service.
Pros: Doctor Bills is a great doctor
Cons: Nurses/Office Staff
I got recommended to this practice by my hair stylist, nonetheless. I had just moved to the area when I found out I was pregnant. I got pregnant while taking birth control, so I was very upset, but Dr. Hsiao was very kind while sitting me down when I first met him, explaining the reason why this may have occurred. I never once had a bad experience at this office. When I went in to labor, I was terrified, Dr. Hsiao was on call for the night. He came in and calmed me down and talked me through everything. He then explained to the nurses how much of a sweetheart I am, and they all took extremely good care of me. I ended up being at 10 cm for about 5 hours because I was too tired to do anything. Olivia's heart rate dropped dramatically and stayed low for a few minutes, Dr. Bashuk came in and explained that the baby needed to come out now, and gave me the option of either trying for a suction delivery or emergency c-section. He hooked up the vaccum and 1 push later, out she came. He was great. After everything was all said and done, he gave me a huge hug and my baby a hug. Then after my second day there, Dr. Bills came upstairs to check on me and my baby, and gave her a hug and myself as well and told me how beautiful she was. I had an incredible experience with each and every doctor, and when I decide to have my next child, I will most definitely be returning to this office.
Pros: Professional, understanding doctors. Great staff.
Cons: At times the wait was long.
Unfortunately I met Dr. Bashuk during an emergency cesarean section. I was hemorrhaging and my doctor couldn't stop the bleeding. She called out for any doctor to help and Dr. Bashuk came in. They had to do a hysterectomy to save my life, but I have a healthy baby and I am here to take care of her. I am so thankful he came in when he did.
Pros: Saved my life
Cons: I didn't know about them first
Sadly, a practice is not only the doctor. However, the office staff was rude, did not return calls about billing errors.I had to escalate things with my insurance company. Instead of having a human being call me back, they insisted on sending a letter. I asked REPEATEDLY to speak to someone. No luck. (This is over a $6 interest charge) I attempted to resolve situation, no response (shocker). I had an appt, was kept waiting - no one would address it with me personally - wasted my time - leaving me at the front desk for 45 minutes.
There are too many other doctors in the area that value customer service. RUN!
Pros: Doc Bashuk is great
Cons: Back Office Staff Horrible
I visited Alliance OBGYN based on the positive reviews here at Citysearch. Dr. Hsiao took time to speak with me in his office before the exam, he discussed any questions and concerns. He was patient, relaxed, and professional. I do not have anything negative to say about Dr. Hsiao. My annual exam was quick and painless.
The problem I encountered was actually with billing. At the time of my visit, Dr. Hsiao and I discussed the possibility of an IUD. He said he would have his office contact my insurance company and let me know what I would have to pay. I told him this was fine, but I wanted to get a quote before scheduling the procedure (to make sure it fit within our budget.) Unfortunately, my insurance company would not cover any of the cost, so my husband and I decided not to proceed with the IUD. I never scheduled an appointment to have the IUD placed, and I did not at any point approve the procedure. Alliance OBGYN still billed me for the IUD. When I called to let them know that I never agreed to have the IUD placed due to the cost, they said they would send it back, but if I ever wanted it in the future, they would charge me an additional $25 fee since I cancelled this order. $25 definitely is not a lot of money, but I'm confused about what this $25 is supposed to cover. In a way, it feels like some sort of penalty for cancellation (even though I never agreed to the IUD in the first place.) I'm not terribly comfortable with the billing practices here after this experience, so I will not be returning.
Pros: I felt comfortable with Dr. Hsiao, and exam was very quick
Cons: Billing was not communicated clearly
Anytime you call Alliance OBGYN office the front desk women sound very glum, and always have very sour disposition. Apparently they dont take into consideration that when people call there, they are asking questions about the customers/clients actual health and well being. If you dont want to work there, you shouldnt. Because if I take the time to go and get work done, when I call to ask about it you need to be able and willing to tell me about it, and not give me attitude.... The front desk needs a makeover.
Pros: Dr. Bills is the Best
Cons: The customer service/front desk staff are the pits
I have some horrific experiences with obgyns but wheb I met dr bills I was amazed! I've had doctors be painfully rough, rude, doctors with no nurse present and a doctor who felt around "downstairs" for over 15 mins when nothing was wrong. Dr bills was gentle, very in tune to my feelings and he made sure before and after everything that I was extremely comfortable! I would reccommend him to anyone and everyone I know!!!!
Pros: very gentle, comfortable setting, kind nurses and drs
Dr. Hsiao has delivered both of my babies at Northside Hospital. During my second pregnancy I developed this rare condition which caused me to lose hearing every 2 weeks (the ENT specialist said it's due to the fluid edema in my eardrum). Dr. Hsiao was very patient and took out a prescription pad and wrote everything down to communicate with me. A routine OB visit ended up being almost thirty minutes but Dr. Hsiao never rushed me or looked annoyed. He also scheduled my induction during the week I was able to hear so I wouldn't be deaf on the day of my delivery and not hear my baby cry for the first time. Thanks Dr. Hsiao and everyone at Alliance Ob/Gyn! I recommend them to everyone!!!
Pros: Skillful, Patient Doctor
Cons: Can't think of Any!
My husband has KP Insurance from his job and we are limited to see the doctors from the HMO. I recently had to go through a terrible experience with an early pregnancy complication. After 4 visits and numerous lab work and ultrasounds with the HMO doctors I still have no clue what's going on with my pregnancy. My sister told me to see Dr. Hsiao for a second opinion. I know my insurance limited who I can see but I was willing to pay anything just to know what's going on with my body. Dr. Hsiao did not disappoint at all... he took his time and talked me through what a blighted ovum is and personally performed an ultrasound and explained to me what happened to my pregnancy. He discussed the lab work I needed and the different options I have now while handing me tissue after tissue ( I was so embarassed that I lost it! I am sure I was crying for at least 15 minutes..). He never walked out of the room like he was too busy for me or rushed me out of the exam room and that meant a lot to me. That one visit with him was worth more than the four five visits I had with my HMO. To my surprise when I was checking out at the front desk I saw that Dr. Hsiao has given me a big discount on the visit since he knew I was paying out of pocket and is going through a difficult time. He has brought me hope and compassion in a difficult time and I am so grateful to have him care for me. I am switching insurance so when I am pregnant again I'll be able to see Dr. Hsiao from the very start!!!
I just had my first appointment few days ago with Dr. Bills. He seemed to be very nice although he speaks too fast... He did all the necessary work and give me all the recommendations for a healthy pregnancy, lets see how the other appointments will go... but for now, it's highly recommended
This is our first pregnancy and I was referred to Dr. Bills through another doctor. To date, though we have not yet had our baby, our experience has been outstanding. I cannot believe that our actual delivery will be any different. We have also seen Dr. Bashuk and Dr. Hsiao and can say that we would feel comfortable letting any of the 3 deliver our son. They seem to have a diverse set of personalities and it seems there is one to fit each patient they see. I have a very "detail oriented" personality and each doctor at this practice has taken all of my questions seriously and has never made me feel uncomfortable or silly about any one of my questions or concerns. When I have called the after hours line my call was returned promptly and the same with any emails that I have sent. I cannot say enough great things about these doctors. I tell everyone about them and if we have another child their office will be the first place we go.
Pros: Short wait time, Positive attitudes, I feel like they remember and know who I am each time they see me.
Cons: None that we can think of!
I had been a loyal patient for over 5 years. When I became pregnant with my first child I was confident in having Dr. Bills as my provider. Unfortunately my trust was misplaced. I ended up having an unnecessary c-section by his partner Dr. Hsiao. The office is very interventive with inductions and c-sections. I would advise anyone considering this office for their obstetric care to ask them what their c-section rate is and then do your research. The office now has 3 Doctors with little benefit to the patient. If you go into labor during the weekend none of the doctors at this practice will attend your birth. This practice is getting a "baby factory" feel, much like the hospital they deliver out of (Northside).
Dr.Hsiao is a amazing doctor. I have never felt so comfortable with a doctor as I do with Dr.Hsiao. He did a fantasic job with delivering my son. I have a heart condition which not many have heard of and the day I went to his office and told him he said he knew of it which impressed me right away. Because of this condition we had decided that a c-section would be best since it was a high risk delivery. He took the time to call the hospital that diagnosed me which was in another state and he relaxed me by telling me he had read all the materials that they had sent him. The day of the c-section I woke up and felt amazing I had no worries and the only reason is because I knew Dr.Hsiao was going to do a great job. He joked around with me through out the whole c-section I didn't even know when he had started and it flew by so quickly. Anyhow to make a long story short he is the best and any future children I have will be delivered by him.
Pros: Everything was perfect!
Cons: Can't think of any one bad thing!
My friends and I all have extremetly positive experiences with the doctors in the practice. Dr. Hsiao did my C-Section and the Scar was barely visible!!! All my friends are very impressed. My friend Tara had a lapraroscopic hysterectomy at the end of July and she was able to go home the same day and ran the Peachtree Road race 6 days later (she never told Dr. Hsiao =). The staff is friendly and on the few occasions I spoke with Dr. Bills and Bashuk they have all been wonderful and helpful! I Recommend the practice to everyone I know.
Pros: Short Wait Time, Excellent Doctor and Nurses
Dr. Hsaio appears very young, but he seemed to know everything there was about my polycystic ovarian syndrome. I had been to numerous other doctors and all I got was birth control pills. Dr Hsaio explained insulin resistance and how I have to change my diet and use special medications. I've lost 40lbs.!!
Pros: Takes time with patients
Dr. Bashuk delivered all three of my children. I had to follow him down to Crawford Long for one of them, but now he is closer to Forseyth. I wouldn't trust anyone else to take care of me. My first born was an emergency cesarean section. Dr. Bashuk wasn't even my doctor then. But when little Brian's heartbeat went down, he came running because my regular doctor was at her office. I've never left him since.
Pros: Easy to talk to
For my first visit, Dr. Bills had me waiting in his office for over an hour. He offered a pathetic apology when he came in, looked frazzled and distracted. I went back for another appointment when I was having problems. Again, I waited for an abnormally long time. Dr. Bills said my problem was caused by generic birth control pills, and that they weren't working. He wrote me a prescription for the brand-name pill and said that he is indicating that generic is not acceptable. He said the insurance would not have a problem with it. Sure enough, insurance refused to pay. I called the insurance company and they told me that all I needed was to have my dr call them. When I said this to the very rude, very poorly-speaking office woman, she said the doctor was too busy to do anything like that for me. When I pleaded with her to ask him, she called back and said that Dr. Bills told me to go ahead and stay with the generic medicine. Either the office staff is lazy and unwilling to help or Dr. Bills doesn't care about the health of his patients. I think both is true. There are several other good OB/GYN's in Alpharetta. Go to one of them. I would not trust a baby to these people.
Cons: Long wait, lack of patient care
I have been a patient of Doctor Bills for 6 years and I would and have highly recommended him to everyone that is in search of a great OB/GYN. He is extremely knowledgeable, very compassionate and very thorough. Great Doctor!
Very helpful staff, The wait time is minimal. Both Dr. Bills are Dr. Hsiao are very thorough, gentle doctors. Overall very positive experience..
My first visit was a wonderful experience and i would go back every year. They are wonderful doctors and I love the staff there.
