OK they are ITALIAN! That makes the food good but the attitude edgy, especially to demanding yuppie scum beemer drivers.

As mentioned elsewhere in these reviews the salad dressing is the best you will ever eat and the cheesecake is "to die for". The other food is very good but typically Italian. The wine selection is limited but what they have is OK.

If you have a problem with the food, try a nice attitude first. Hostility will bring hostility back - they ARE Italian, get a grip. We had a problem with the food once (of the many many times we have visited). We asked nicely for it to be fixed. The owner got attitude but we just insisted, politely, and got what we wanted. Next time we went everything was fine.

Just pretend you are in Italy and don't act like the ugly American and all will be well and they will treat you like family. BTW this IS how they treat their own family!! lol

We got a large white pizza from Fini's. My husband was in a hurry when he picked it up and only briefly glanced at the pizza before leaving the restaurant.

When he got home I opened the pizza box to see that there was literally a pool of oil on top of the pizza, and when I lifted a slice the entire bottom of the box was saturated with oil.

We don't like to complain so we attempted to "blot" the pizza with paper towels, but the pizza was still inedible. I tried calling the store several times and got no answer. They close at 9 pm and it was only 9:03 the first time I called, yet they wouldn't answer the phone.

I put the pizza in the fridge and called again at 11am the following day. I first spoke to "Joanna Fini" and as I was explaining to her my issue, very nicely and politely, she tells cuts me off to say, "What do you mean it had too much oil? Most people complain that we don't put enough oil on our pizza. You're going to have to hold on, I'm on the other line with my father" and immediately placed me on hold.

Several minutes later a man got on the phone and identified himself as "Moss Fini" and was IMMEDIATELY VERY AGGRESSIVE with me, without even giving me an opportunity to speak first.

He essentially called me a liar telling me that "bad pizzas don't leave my restaurant" and told me that we probably ate the pizza and enjoyed it and now we were just looking for a free meal. He spoke in a very hostile, aggressive, and accusatory tone and went into a rant about how some woman dropped a pizza and wanted it for free, how his business is down 50% due to the economy and that his people work 12 hours a day...What all of that had to do with the blob of oil they sold us, I have no idea - and I told him exactly that. I also told him that if that's how he speaks to all of his customers that I was surprised his business was only down 50% and not 100%.

I asked him why he felt the need to speak to a customer in such a manner for no reason and he said he "was tired of people trying to get something over" on him.

I told him that I initially was just going to ask for a replacement pizza, but due to his attitude I now wanted a full refund and would no longer be a customer of his.

He told me that I could bring the pizza back but if he looked at it and thought it was a good pizza there was "no way in hell" that I would get a "damn refund" and he hung up on me.

I took the pizza back that night prepared for a fight. He was not in the store and an employee had to call him. He went on a rant with that employee - I couldn't hear the words but I could hear the tone 2 feet from the phone.

He then asked the cashier to have a cook look at the pizza and tell him what he thought. The cook looked at it, agreed that it was sogging with oil and told "Moss" that.

"Moss" then asked to speak to me and told me that he would give me my money back but he wanted ME to take the bad pizza with me and not leave it in his restaurant.

There was no apology from him for the manner in which he spoke to me on the phone the first time and it was obvious that he was NOT happy about having to refund my money. The poor guy who made the bad pizza probably got fired, but that may be a better fate than continuing employment for such a DICK.

Oh and I left the nasty pizza on their counter...

On August 4th, my husband and I took my Mother who was visiting from Texas to Fini's. Previously we were big fans of the pizza and food. We ordered pizza, the menu doesn't state that the specialty pizza is charged double by the slice. You pay for the basic pizza, and then for each additional topping on the specialty pizza. The menu clearly states the charges for the create your own pizza , but not the specialty pizza. Our Server also did not mention the additional fee. When we got our bill, I inquired about the charges. It took them some time to figure out what the charges were and then the server came back and said that each slice of pizza my mother ordered was charged at almost $7 per slice. She ordered two slices so it was $14 for her two slices. I handed the server my credit card to pay, and asked to speak with the manager. My concern was not the charge, but the deceptive menu. When the manager (Joanna Fini) came to the table, she immediately approached us with a hostil attitude. When I mentioned to her that I felt the menu was misleading, she stated that she "created the menu myself" and that she didn't think the menu was at all deceptive. She also stated that she was a Fini as if that should change my feelings. And acted as if I was trying to get the pizza for free. I had already given my credit card so that wasn't the case. I told her that her attitude was going to prevent repeat customers from coming back, and she said that's my loss not hers. During her rant, she also told me she was already taking a loss on the pizza. I didn't see how that was possible considering I could have ordered a small pizza for the amount she charged for two slices. I also asked how she could be taking a loss on the pizza when I have already given my credit card to pay for it? I don't recall her exact response to my question because I was so upset. I mentioned to her that if there were charges like this on their menu and it is not clearly stated, that the server should notify the customer during the ordering process. I stated that maybe the server wasn't trained correctly, to which she replied that she trained them all herself and that she has a degree in Restaurant management. I told her that I did not need her resume and that she should really reconsider how she speaks to her customers in an economy when people are not eating out that often. I also stated that she should consider that her server did not tell us all the information. To which she replied, "well, don't tip him then". I ended the conversation at that point. Any small business owner can tell you that the way to keep customers is to listen to them and to hear what they are saying. I did not want anything for free. I just wanted her to know about her menu.

I asked for her business card on my way out, to which she replied, "if you're going to tattle on me to my parent's I wouldn't do that if I were you" and handed me the card. I replied to her, " I'm not one to 'tattle' on people to their parents" What an immature manager of a restaurant. Someone really needs to reconsider having Joanna in charge of the Duluth Hwy location before it goes under. She is running it into the ground.

Pros: Decent food

Cons: Customer service, rude employees,

Fini's uses very delicious and quality ingredients on their pizzas. We actually take it home and re-cook it in our oven to get the dough a little more crispy, but I seriously cannot get over how much more yummy (yes, yummy!) their toppings and cheeses are over all delivery places and other carry-out pizza places. Plus, the people are super nice. And, yes, their salads are delicious as well!

We have ate at Fini's many times. There are actually two locations in Lawrenceville; the original one is off Old Peachtree and the second one is off of Duluth Hwy. My husband really likes their pizza. I think their pizza is good, but they really aren't what I crave when I think of Fini's. It is their salad that I think is the best! Fini's makes their own balsamic vinaigrette and it is so good. Add grilled chicken to the salad and their homemade bread and you have a delicious meal. Eat your vegetables next time you go and order a salad. You'll be very happy you did!
