Ladies Only Total Fitness

DO NOT JOIN THIS GYM! I like to research before I spend my money. I came across these reviews and was shocked to read that so many people were dissatisfied. I thought that I would give these people a fair shot and check the gym out for myself. First of all I had to wait almost half an hour for one of the managers to see me. She was busy coercing another customer to sign a contract. I understand this is a business, but I was hoping there would be someone to serve me promptly. However, I did not hold this against her. She then took my friend and I into her office and the sales pitch began. She showed us the 1 year, 2 year, and 3 year contract. I only wanted a short time contract, but she bipassed the first two and focused on sucking us into a 3 year contract even after I explained it wouldn't fit my needs. The price was outrageous! It was almost 179.00 just to join then it would be about 43 dollars a month, which would be fine to me, but paying almost 200 just to initially join!!??!! Then she started this sales pitch that she would reduce the price if I joined to day by taking the enrollment fee off, basically slashing the price in half. I told her that I wanted to continue doing my research and look at some other gyms before I commit. This aggravated her and then she told me that she would allow me to join for 7 days free, if I fill out the contract.She stated that if I was unsatisfied after 7 days that she would tear the contract up. Yeah right!! Then the telephone rang and she answered it, striking up a long conversation with someone. Knowing that this lady did not have my best interest in mind, I got up to leave, attempting to take the price list with me. She then grabbed the price list, hastily stating that they don't give the price list out because the prices change every month. What!! There were no brochures and the whole time I was there I only saw two people in the gym working out! This company will not be in Conyers long! They are only after getting your money! I left disappointed at the customer service. I really wanted to give this gym a chance because I like the idea of going to a ladies gym and having child care. However, God works in miraculous ways. I went home and did more research and found out that there is a fitness center called Body Tech in Conyers. I called and the lady was very nice. They also do not try to lock you in a contract. Its only 35.00 a month! You pay as you go! No contracts and no monthly automatic bank deposits! It's also 24 hours!

I strongly disagree with a majority of these comments.It seems to me as though a lot of these remarks come from people who have probably had a dissatisfying experience and are holding on to a grudge, so they come on to this site and want to blow the entire situation out of proportion. I am a Caucasian female and I have been a member since Jan 08. I have seen staff come and go and yes some are more motivating than others. It may be their jobs to help to educate you on how to improve your health, but it is not their job to hold your hand every step of the way, especially if you are reluctant about receiving information that will only benefit you. You have to care enough about your health and well being to motivate yourself. Here are some of the positives that I would like to share with those who are looking for a gym home. The staff is helpful, the facility is clean, the classes are exciting, the prices are affordable,there are no men allowed in the facility unless they are employed there(which my husband appreciates), the personal training is FREE, the childcare(being that I have 2 children) is a definite plus and it is close to my home. And where the racism comes into play, now this is just my opinion, but I am from California and I have lived in Atlanta for 3 years now and I have observed that the demeanor of many Caucasians in conyers seem to represent that of the "old south" as many refer to it. Could the REAL issue regarding racism within the facility be because of the fact that deep down inside Caucasians have a problem with the owner's being African American? The bottom line is, this is a great facility, and those on here whining about racism and what not, sound like they are just using any excuse not to exercise or not to support an African American owned business.signedHappy to be healthy!

I am caucasian, and I recently joined this facility. THe staff are thus far very friendly and motivating. This facility offers many amenities that others do not, such as free personal training. They even gave me my first month for free. My experience has been positive up to this point. Ill let you know if this changes.

For those who have left messages regarding prejudices I can see why you may feel that way. This location IS predominately African American. And I've noticed that ladies who are black but have Caucasian features EVERYONE reacts in jealously. anger and prejudice. It's simply deep insecurity most Afro-American women are intimidated by White women due to the added social pressure to be beautiful according to White America's standards.
What most AA's don't realize it that Caucasian women have these same pressures under their own set standards of beauty. That's why they workout so much!!!
Anyway....this is not a good reason for anyone to be discriminated against. I've worked out at plenty of gym's especially those that were predominately White. I cannot recall once feeling discriminated against. In fact I was greeted with open arms and enthusiasm that was infectious! :-)

I would like to get more info from all of you. I am a white female who was treated great until I showed up for my first visit. Then it went down hill. If you're not black you were treated like crap. The staff is so hateful to all white people. It makes me sick. I can not stand the way they make me feel or the way they treat others. I tried to get out of my 3 yr contract (2 years remaining) & they do not even allow you to buy out. Oh & forget about getting a supervisor to call you back. I have called the 1 800 # 12 times & no one will call back. I am considering a law suit for several things. I have been a member at this gym since July 07. When I joined the environment was great. The trainers and staff were very positive and encouraging. Recently most of those folks left and the atmosphere has changed. If you are looking for motivation, this is not the place to go. I motivate myself so this works for me and it is close to where I live. As for the classes there are very few "good" ones. The step classes are great but floor aerobics are almost non-existent.

Regarding the Ladies Only Total Fitness facility in Conyers, GA I read the two reviews and wanted to add my own comments as well. I cannot speak on whether they are prejudice against whites or not but I can concur on the rudeness and level of customer service provided. I made the mistake of joining the gym and have a two year contract that will be up at the end of this year and I absolutely hate it. I used to go faithfully and fell off, and cannot bring myself to go back. I tried one day last week and I just did not like the atmosphere. Their class schedule is not good, some classes are only offered once a week. The people who work there do not appear to be fit and it is very discouraging. Definitely not worth the time or money spent. I wouldn't suggest this place to anyone.

I have not even had the chance to visit this gym b/c I'm not going to waste my time when nobody will even return the calls I've placed inquiring about membership info. No thanks!

this health club is located in the big lots shopping center. the trainers are rude, as well as the owners.they have prejudice issues against white people. they promised a class on the aerobic floor every hour. -never happened, and they try to lock you in to 2-3 year contracts! in my opinion this place stinks!
