Pros: cheap

Cons: undependable, dishonest, slow, poor quality move

.

Movers were very polite and moved all furniture into house. Then I realized they stole my jewelry out of my closet. Called the company - of course, they can't do anything about it. Now I am filing a police report. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY.

Once ADS gets their hands on your furniture, they will hold it hostage while demanding that you pay a much higher price than what you were promised.
We had to move from Florida to Texas. Comparing prices, we noticed that Budget Van Lines advertised the lowest charges. We called Budget Van Lines and were promised that we would be charged a total of $1473.41. Budget Van Lines told us that they were a "broker", which means that they contract a moving company to take the furniture.
We were promised that the movers would come either on Monday, March 30, 2009 or Tuesday, March 31, 2009. And we were promised that the furniture would be delivered in Texas on Wednesday, April 1, 2009.
On Saturday, March 28, 2009, movers from ADS Moving & Storage showed up at the apartment two days earlier than promised. They said that they had to move the furniture that morning. We called the ADS manager James White, who assured us that we would be charged the price that we were promised by Budget Van Lines. So we let them load the furniture on the truck.
But as soon as the furniture was loaded on the truck, the ADS movers told us that we would be charged $2113.34 - which is $640 more than what we were promised by Budget Van Lines.
We told the ADS movers that we wanted them to give us back our furniture. We told them that we did not want them to move the furniture for us.
The movers told us that we could not have our furniture back until we paid them the new higher price. James White, who I think is the owner of ADS, specifically said to me that we would never see our furniture again unless I agreed to pay him the new higher price on my credit card.
We called Budget Van Lines, the "broker". But Budget Van Lines was part of this extortion scheme. Melissa Lilly from Budget Van Lines completely supported ADS seizing our furniture against our will, and then holding our furniture hostage until we agreed to make the ransom payment.
ADS and Budget Van Lines continued to blackmail us for 6 whole days until I finally decided to make the credit card payment because I feared that we would never see our furniture again. I let them take the money from my credit card. We finally received our furniture on April 3, 2009.

I moved a little over a week ago with ADS Moving and Storage from Atlanta to Oklahoma City. My husband and I were very impressed with Jim Mack when he came to our home to give us a quote. He was our 4th (and final) quote and we decided then and there to go with his company. The next day, I found these reviews on City Search and started having second thoughts! But we decided to stick with them and are we ever glad! They did an amazing job. This is the first move I have had where the movers did NOT damage multiple pieces! I have a lot of family antiques plus a baby grand piano and they treated everything with kid gloves. A crew of 4 guys came and worked for 12 hours to load us. They all remained cheerful and courteous the whole time. It even rained for a short period and that made their job even harder but they never complained! I really can't say enough nice things about all of them! By the time they finished, my husband and I were worn out and we hadn't lifted a finger! I truly think those guys could have gone another 12 hours!

The driver and one of the guys delivered everything two days later and had two local helpers who were also top notch. They took special care with all of the antiques and didn't leave until I was happy with where all of the furniture was placed. We also appreciated Nancy Williams who was our moving coordinator ! She called regularly during the whole process to make sure we were happy!

Of the 10 or 12 professional moves I have made this was by far the smoothest! I am also a Realtor so I am around my fair share of movers. ADS will be the company I refer from now on! They are the best! Thank you Mr. Mack, Nancy and the whole crew for a job well done!

Pros: service, price, and customer service

A friend recommended ADS Moving & Storage to move me and my son into our new home. The lead estimator came out to our apartment to give me a free estimate. ADS provided me with different sized boxes and they offered to help me pack our things. I told the estimator that I did not need help packing because most of our things were already packed - I was just concerned about my furniture, and other unboxable goods. ADS assured me that they would take good care of our things and he sowed me an example. ADS gave me a very affordable rate, so I booked! On moving day someone did call from the ADS office to confirm the services. They told me the time slot that the moving truck and staff will be arriving at my apartment. I have dealt with a moving company in the past, and they did not make a call to confirm, so I thought that, that was pretty nice. An ADS truck and three men arrived on time and they were all wearing uniforms. I consider myself to have a lot of junk, especially clothes and shoes, but ADS used the right size truck to hold all of my clothes, furniture, and my son's things. The men wrapped all of our big furniture items in these special blankets so they would not get scratched or dented. They bubble wrapped all of our glass and porcelin items. After loading our belongings from our apartment, it was time to transfer everything to our house. The men were really friendly and helpful. They placed everything exactly where I wanted them. I did not receive any attitude from them, nor did I see signs of laziness! Most moves can take up to several days, but this happened all in one day!!! A day later ADS called me to ask how the move went. They wanted to know how the workers were and if there were any damges to our belongings. I told them the truth, that everything went perfect. I gave ADS Moving & Storage five stars because they were very professional from start to finish, and it was affordable. If I relocate again in the future, I will definitely use them!

This company has refused to honor a claim for broken and missing furniture - twice! Deliberately
ignored my complaint and claims, and completely ignored other formal orgnaizatiosn who handle claims. There is now a claim in with the American Moving and Storage Association.
DO NO-DO NOT under any circumstances use this fraudulent company

I set up a move with company through transnational vanlines which makes them a broker even though they said that they were not...I found out that they were on the moving day on NOV 1....The company only brought two movers, they charged me double for the weight...I was quoted for 3100 lbs and they said it weighed 6200 lbs!!!...Keep in my mind I live in a one bed room apartment...After the sale was made, I did not get any phone calls at all about where my stuff was at..the dates kept getting pushed back...after two weeks I finally received my stuff....Atlanta to Baton rouge should not take two weeks!!! Luckily my stuff was ok and the movers were nice...But overall bad experience and these sales people should get penalized for false advertisement..

The job was outsourced to ADS from Nationwide Relocation Services. ADS did EVERYTHING wrong: arrived late, delivered late, several items damaged in transit, several items left behind and delivered later. To add insult to injury they charged more than the not-to-exceed estimate, and customer service was joke.

We booked through Nationwide Relocation. We were told to expect a call at least 48 hours in advance with notice about when the movers would arrive. Never got a call. They showed up on the originally scheduled date with their truck half full and could not pick up our stuff. They delivered and returned late that night & worked until 3am but only got half of our stuff moved. When my wife asked when they would return to finish it, the man in charge rudely said "look I'm too tired to discuss it right now" One guy returned the next afternoon. He had no help to move much of our large furniture. He had to fill out forms, sticker the goods and load them himself. After 6 or 7 hours he told my wife that he wasn't going to move or pack our framed art, a bookshelf and some other items. She told him that she needed to talk to me about it and he refused to let her. He tried to intimidate her into not calling me. She became so upset and the two of them engaged in a full-on confrontation that our neighbors called the police. Ultimately the driver left so much stuff that we had to rent another truck and I had to leave work, drive 3 hours, load the truck and drive back 3 hours in the middle of the night. The delivery truck arrived before I could return with everything. I explained the situation and they charged us extra for the wait time. It was prearranged that my company would be billed on a credit card for the move. The movers insisted that we pay cash. We didn't have cash so we all waited another 4 hours for my company and ADS to work out the payment. Their were 4 guys who unloaded the truck and they were nice but they couldn't find hardware to put some of our beds back together and any items were broken. Tables with broken legs, lots of dents and packing tape residue all over our furniture. Our train table that the kids grandfather build is missing. They also charged us about 50% more than the quote because of the weight.. which I'm sure is a fabrication.

I originally contracted with America's Moving Service who outsourced my move to ADS Moving & Storage, so I had no opportunity to asses them before they showed up at my house to move me out (3+ hours late). We had a small (3 bedroom) house that had already been about 60% emptied. It took 6 hours for them to load the truck - and that required help from me & my husband.

When they arrived to deliver the stuff, again, they were several hours late. Several items were missing & we were told they were still in the warehouse & they'd deliver them soon. Most importantly, the movers BROKE my PIANO!!! I had to pay an additional $150 for the special piano handling fee... and they BROKE the PIANO! The mover informed me that the problem was with the piano (apparently, Baldwin doesn't know how to build Pianos...). Give me a break - they picked it up by the top & broke the top clean off.

They also left a box belonging to someone else at our house.

I sent in my claim as I was instructed to do... and received NO RESPONSE. I've called three times and no one has taken my call. I have informed them that I have someone else's items as well (so, I can help them satisfy another customer who is missing items) and they don't seem to care.

They have been totally unresponsive and I will never use them or recommend them to anyone. The men who moved my stuff were friendly and worked hard, but all of that is overcome by the fact that they are completely ignoring my claim & won't even take my calls.

STAY AWAY! There are many movers to choose from and some may actually care for your belongings and your happiness... but NOT ADS MOVING AND STORAGE

These guys were great. Our driver Jim and his partner Jerry were amazing. They had our house in Dallas, TX packed into their truck in only eight hours. With over 11,000 lbs. of stuff I think they did a great job, especially in the 100 degree heat. They fit our whole household into a truck with two other loads already on it. Jerry did a great job wrapping all our furniture in paper and shrink wrap and packing it on the truck.

Jim, our driver, handled the business transaction in a courteous and professional manner. These guys are real pros. Our stuff arrived in Raleigh the following Saturday, a minor inconvenience, since everything is geared towards scheduling with price of diesel being 5 bucks a gallon. They unloaded our house and re-assembled everything in just six hours of 100 degree heat here in Raleigh, NC. The best part was NOTHING ABSOLUTELY NOTHING WAS DAMAGED!! Great job and cudos!!

Never use ADS Moving and Storage. I could not get them to call me back with a delivery date. They showed up 2 weeks late. And 11 items were damaged and destroyed. It has now been 3 months and they will not reply to my disputes about the items delivered damaged even though they signed that they were damaged during the move. Never use this company.

I had an extremely terrible experience with this company also!. They lost approximately $2,000 worth of my things too! They damaged a significant amount, and they delivered a week late too!. I could never get in touch with them and had to call multiple times before I received a call back. . I have not had satisfactory responses to my missing items, and no satisfaction with the nothing this company does!

Do not use this moving company. They advertize the lowest rates to hook you and then they add little charges every step of the way ...$75 for an elevator change is one, no elevator more.

Also they lost or stole my flat plannel TV. I needed to get the authotities involved or they would not make a claim and they are still fighting it.

Also the team comes in to your house to move you and they start going through your refridgerator and liquor cabinets to see what they can take home to tip themselves.
