I've had terrible experiences with this store, despite initially spending a lot of money there. I've heard terrible things about them from many people in town. Their customer service is very bad, and their return policy is absurd.

They declined to honor a return on a product that malfunctioned within a few weeks after purchase, even though I tried to return it after only a couple of weeks, with the receipt, but without the box (I loved it until it malfunctioned...who would have thought I'd want to return it?).

An earlier time I tried to return speakers that didn't work, right out of the box, and was told I'd have to pay a restocking fee (even though I simply wanted an exchange). The manager said they didn't want to let people try to return things fraudulently (??). I asked (nicely) to have the owner call me, so I could plead my case and request reconsideration. He never called. I emailed later. No one responded.

I brought a Mac in for a warranty repair once. They repaired it grudgingly, looking for a reason to deny the repair, even though Apple reimburses them. They were not friendly, and have never been friendly any time I've been to the store (they generally appear unhappy). When I or my girlfriend or friends have first entered the store, we haven't been greeted or even acknowledged.

When I've told other people about these experiences, without fail, every one of them has said they've heard the same bad things about the store.

Because they're the only store in town that sells Mac computers, they get plenty of business and will do fine, I'm sure. But it's terrible. I can't bring myself to ever return there, not out of spite, but because I can't count on them to stand by the products they sell and take care of things if something goes wrong. I will always buy from Apple directly online, or from another store if I happen to be out of town when I want something. I strongly recommend you do the same.

I don't have any faith in them after recently dealing with them. Apparently, they don't know how to communicate either. Had I known this, I would have ordered straight from APPLE. After spending this kind of $ & being treated this way, it only takes once...Mac Haus of Fairbanks has lost our business!

Luckily I havent needed their services often. However, I had need of them three time for three different things, and none went well. The latest problem I have with them is I took two IMacs in so I can get the older Mac's pictures and ITunes files copied onto the newer one. I dropped it off, and they said it would be done in two days. I came to get it two days later, its still sitting there, not done. They said they would get to it right away, and have it later that day. This went on for four days. Finally I went to take them out of their possession and just forget the data transfer. However, they just finished and were packing the computers back into the boxes. Yay me. Get home, and the newer computers files are no longer there. Pictures and files gone, and it looked different. Put both computers side by side, and found out that instead of copying some files over, they CLONED the entire drive!!!! Now I have to redo settings, re-download missing files, etc. Way to go guys!! Bunch of amateurs!
