Worst deapership ever!!!!!!!! Save your money and sanity. I have taken my car to them 4 times already to fix the same issue that is covered under warranty. They call me to tell me my car is ready for pick up and they are charging me $175 for the repair!!!! They do not have to go thru the warranty company because it will be more expensive for them!!!! Ummm I think not! Plus they took 8 days to "fix" something that would only take 2 days to do. I have already wasted $400 on a rental for all the days they have had my car! Customer service is non-existant! Intergrity LOL yeah right. Scammers and liars!!!! Oh and I'm pretty sure you can see right thur all the fake happy customer post.

I bought a Chrysler 300 at Hopkins Auto Sales last year and recently scheduled routine service work. I dreaded not having my car for a day, but Hopkins made it easy. When I called to schedule the work, the service manager told me about the Hopkins customer shuttle. She said it would be no problem to take me to work and pick me up in the afternoon. The shuttle worked like a charm.

WOW what a total waste of time. DON'T waste yours!! Trying to find a first car for my son. Went in to HOPKINS sat morning and so begain the solidification of the bad reputation car salesman have. If yor are a car salesman you can blame donnie at hopkins for all of the bad press car salesman get. I understand deals can or cannot be made but the way we were treated was ridiculous. From the lack of knowledge regarding their own inventory to the total lack of respect and from this dealership has left me and my son with a total lack of desire to ever deal with a car salesman again. Won't go into all of the gorey details of the day as too many to list. I will warn all: DO NOT SET FOOT ON HOPKINS LOT. RIDE BY. KEEP GOING. THIS OPERATION IS SHADY AND DANGEROUS. DON'T TAKE THE CHANCETO FIND OUT YOURSELF. YOU WILL BE VERY VERY SORRY.

They are the worst dealership, I was in there every week paying on my car and it was fine up until the receptionist told me I didn't have to come back until I was going to pay it off such was the next Friday and Thursday night my car was turned off and 10 minutes later my car was being towed. So the receptionist told me she forgot to write in the computer even though she told me at that time that she was writing it in the computer than. So they amitted that it was their mistake but I still got to pay the towing fee, even though they knew I was coming in the next day to pay my car off so when I got my car back I had no reverse I took it to the nissan dealership and they said my transmission was done for. I told the towing company and hopkins and Russell said he just assumed that i knew I didn't have reverse. So now tommy said it was just a consequent that it went up the same time it was towed even though I had no problems with my car up until I decide to pay it off. Now that's a consequent. Don't ever go to hopkins to get a car.

I was referred to Hopkins Automotive after one of my friends bought a Lincoln LS from them. She said that they had guaranteed financing and could definitely get me in a car. I was skeptical considering my credit history, but was desperately in need of reliable transportation so I went. I was greeted immediately by a salesman who patiently took my information and didn??t make me feel bad about my credit. After giving him all my information, he came to me with my options for vehicles and boy was I impressed! I was expecting him to show me a ??clunker?, but he didn??t! I was given great options and after reviewing them all, was able to choose the right vehicle at the right price for me! I couldn??t have been more pleased! I??ve had my car for 2 months now and am still tickled with it! Don??t hesitate to go to Hopkins Automotive, they are truly great!

We purchased a truck from Hopkins in July and as of today have spent 12,000 in repairs. From injectors, tire rod, head gaskets, and the list could go on. They ran it through their service department alright. For the first repair we took it to them and they had the truck for a month for a 10 hour high pressure oil pump repair. And something was kind of fishy the warranty card never came effective until after the truck was sent back to them not the date of purchase when we signed the papers but almost a month later

I read some of the other reviews and I cant help but think some of the problems the folks are talking about are self inflicted. I happened to be going by Hopkins Automotive last night and got a flat tire. I pulled in and the place was packed. The service and the sales department were just a busy as could be. I had my family and Christmas gifts returning to Va from my sisters in NJ. These people went our of there way to get me and my family on the road as quickly as possible. I was a complete stranger and they know I would not ever come back for a car or service but it did not matter. They took care of us in less time than they said, What a great feeling to know that there still are people out there tha tdo care about there fellow man. If I lived close by I am smart enough to see that these people do care about there customers. Contrary to some of these reviews and as hard as it for some people to understand the customer is not always right,

Hopkins Automotive is THE WORST used car dealership i've EVER been to and I 100% ever purchasing a car from them or even stepping foot on their lot for that matter.......FROM MANGEMENT DOWN, you receive the WORST customer service EVER if you're having problems with the vehicle.......the car i purchased has been in THEIR "SERVICE REPAIR" 5 TIMES (6 in total.....i needed a CERTIFIED repair shop to look at it) w/in a 5 mo, time period w/ 3 of those times being w/in the 1st month of purchase.........i ALWAYS got the runaround when i called regarding the issues w/ the car, i was talked to any kind of way AND the dealership had the nerve to REFUSE to return my car after i've been make prompt payments just b/c THEIR TECHNICIANS could NOT REPAIR the issue after 3 ATTEMPTS!!!! so that the car could pass inspection! (which they supposedly guarantee)......I've asked management "what does the guarantee provide if the car continuously fails" and the MANAGEMENT replied "that's a question that NO ONE has the answer to".......Managagement has also made the follow comments in my MANY conversations w/ them......."i don't want to trade out of the car b/c there's no guarantee that you'll be traded into something better" (my mom witnessed this comment), "if you wanted a car that ran like brand new, you should've went and purchased a brand new car".....my response "No, I wanted a car that was RELIABLE and would PASS INSPECTION!" and in response for my extreme need for transportation "how is that our problem?".......HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE!!!!!!!!!!!! no interest in customer satisfaction AT ALLL!!!! and I EVEN EXPLAINED to the TECHNICIAN how i needed the car to get to work to help support my mom and siblings due to my father's recent death! AND they tried to accuse me of not complying to the contract agreement that i would have to take the car through inspection w/in 10 business days of purchase BUT THE CAR WAS IN THE SHOP THE ENTIRE TIME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! It was just the worst experience ever!!!! and I DISCOURAGE ANYONE from purchasing a car from them UNLESS YOU PLAN ON NOT PAYING FOR THE CAR (in that case shop till you drop!)

Respectfully & HONESTLY (seriously, i have record and witnesses of all accounts) Submitted,

T. FOSTER

Where to begin...I bought a 2002 VW Jetta from Hopkins Automotive on 12/10/2008, the day I took the car off the lot the check engine light came on. I called the salesman that sold me the car, and he had me setup a service appointment. I went into the service department and they put my car on the Diagnostics machine and told me that I would have to schedule another service appointment to get it fixed. 2 to 3 weeks later I took the car up there and they had it for over a day and within 5 miles from the dealership the check engine light comes on again! I called the service department right away and they told me to give it a few days and see how the car is because they said that there was nothing mechanically wrong with the car. (umm ok) A week later I called them and told them that the check engine light was still on, and they set me up with another appointment. 3 weeks later they had my car for another day and a half, and what do you know, the very next day the check engine light comes on again! This time when I picked my car up Russell in the service department told me that the check engine light isn't covered under my warranty, and I told him that I expected it to be fix because this has been an issue since the day I took the car off the lot. I called the dealership and asked to speak to Tom Hopkins and was told that he was with a customer and the receptionist asked to take a message. I explained to her what was going on and she told me that either Tom or she would get a hold of me the following business day. Well neither of them called me instead it was Russell from the service department, he asked me to bring the car in so he could scan it to see what was going on. I took the car to the dealership and after an hour of waiting Russell comes up to me with a piece of paper with fault codes on it. I asked him what diagnostic scanner they used because before I pay to have any work done to the car I want to make sure that I have correct information, and I told him that after the last 2 times they "fixed" the car I didn't have an confidence in what they are telling me and that I would take it to a VW dealership for a 2nd opinion. This must have offended Russell and he rudely said "FINE GOODBYE" I had to remind him that I needed my keys.

To top all that off, I received a phone call from the dealership a week before my temporary tag expired asking me if I had the hard tag to my car. I was in New York at the time and told her that I would have to call her back to let her know. When I checked I didn't have the hard tag, so they had to order a duplicate tag which wouldn't be in before my temporary tag expired so I would have to come up there again to get other temporary tag!. Mind you that they had 6 weeks to register the car from the time I ran it through inspection to the date that my temporary tag expired. The receptionist gave me some excuse about only being about to register 3 cars a day at the DMV, well that's one hell of a sales record if it takes 6 weeks to register a vehicle!

So buy a car here if you like headaches and hassles, They will never get my business again. And I will tell anyone that I know that's looking to buy a car to avoid this place like the plague.

And a note to the dealership - It is very shady to turn off a check engine light for a test drive! Own up to your mistakes and don't let you service monkeys treat your paying customers like dirt!!!
