Coggeshall Jewelers is a great little shop in down town Bristol. It is family owned and operated. I like how when ever I happen to stop in, everyone greets me like I'm part of the family.

Also they have a great selection on gift ideas

Do not trust Coggeshall Jewelers with your jewelry. I got engaged and I needed to have the ring resized but I wanted to wear it a bit first. I was in Bristol doing some errands and stopped in for a ring guard. The guy was very friendly and said it would be for no charge if I come back to get my ring sized. My mom asked him if he was sure he could do it because it was really big and there are diamonds all down the sides. He said it would be no problem. She specificly asked if he would need to use beads to fit it, he said no way. She asked how long it would take and he said 5-7 days. I live about 45 minties away but I was impressed with the customer service so I decided I would come back. When I did, that very same gentleman looked at the ring and said it would need beads to be sized and it would take two weeks. I'm a very forgiving customer and figured he must have been a little over zealous on my last visit and gave him the ring. Two and a half weeks later I received a call saying it was ready. I picked it up and wore it out. I immediately noticed the beads pinching my finger and started to get a blister. About an hour after picking it up I noticed there was a small diamond missing. I called and the woman said quite rudely "well did you even look at it when you picked it up?" as if it was my fault. She begrudgingly told me to bring it back and they would fix it. When I came in, it was the man I had originally dealt with who apologized an said he would have it fixed immediately and back to me within 5 days. When I showed him the blister it had given me, he said he would smooth out the beads to make it more comfortable, all at no charge. Over three weeks goes by with no phone call. Finally I called and they said that they tried to fix it but the diamond kept popping out so they were going to need to send it to a specialist and it would take another three weeks. This was a couple days before Christmas and I wanted to wear it so he said I could pick it up and drop it back off after. When I went to get it, I told the woman that I was upset that I never even received a phone call and that it took so long. She pointed to a sign on the wall saying all repairs take 2 weeks and said "besides we're fixing it for you for free anyway". I explained that it was because it was their error. She started making excuses and saying that it was a busy time of years to which I responded that it wasn't busy when I had originay dropped my ring off over two months ago. All I wanted was a phone call and an apology. I am very understaning. But there is no excuse for this poor customer service. I was then completely fed up with them and asked to take my diamond so I can take my ring elsewhere. They said okay and the jeweler said he needed to see the ring to find a diamond that would fit. Clearly they had not worked on my ring at all or if, as they said, the diamond keeps popping out, they would have had it with the ring already. The beads were never even addressed at all. Thy didn't even care about losing my business at all.
