Over rated pizza for sure. I don't know what happened to their pizza but it sure isn't like the old days. Boring atmosphere, rude counter help and less than average pizza. Won't go back, that's for sure.

I was the biggest Caserta fan back in the day... I'd travel 30 miles for a Caserta Pizza and in RI that's BIG !!! But just like anything else with new owners ,and time ,comes change. Caserta was the king for many years ... they went up against a pizza at the Bryant College Annual Pizza Challenge this year ( can you tell I'm a Pizza Lover) and the winner this year was a place I've never heard of... Pepino's Pizzeria in Lincoln... OMG !!!! The NEW REIGNING KING of PIZZA... from the northend of Boston !!!! Best kept secret in RI !!!

Their pizza is disgusting. The sauce is wicked salty, the toppings are few in variety and not very good. Go to Bob & Timmy's - it's much better.

Better than chain pizza. Decently priced. They don't usually skimp on the toppings..usually when I ask for "extra extra pepperoni and olives" and make it a point again to say I want it covered, I usually get it that way and it's still under $10. They lack the consistency though, I guess depending on who makes it because sometimes there's sauce overload and it's too gloppy with a bunch of those little tomato things. I like how the crust isn't too thick and not too thin but it's bland and tasteless. Its weird, like they just sprayed some olive oil on it and fried the bottom. And twice I have found a piece of hair in it. I noticed the first piece at home and the second time I went back in and took a refund on it (didn't want an irritated cook spitting in it..) So I now make sure to inspect the pizza before leaving.....

Pros: Price. Crust not too thin and not too thick, usually lots of toppings.

Cons: Tasteless, white crust that they spray oil on and fry the bottom, had hair in pizza. Made differently each time.

THE BEST ANYWHERE!! THOSE SPINACH PIES? CAN'T GET ENOUGH! PIZZA? IN BOSTON, REGINA'S AND SANTARPIO'S ARE THE KING. THEY DON'T EVEN COME CLOSE TO CASERTA'S. BELIEVE ME, IT'S WORTH THE TRIP!!!!!

My wife and I just enjoyed a delicious large pepperoni, olive and cheese pizza for lunch. She had a pizza craving since before our cruise last week that was left unsatisfied until today. We had incredible food on the cruise ship including pizza but I kid you not, Casserta's pizza satisfies like no other. Just the right balance of crispy crust, olive oil, sause and toppings so that you can perch your slice on your fingertips. We ordered a large so we could have some for lunch tomorrow but could not stop eating just one more slice 'till there were only five squares left. Yes it is a square pizza. RI's best!

I found this site looking for the phone number to pre-order our pizza for lunch and read some nasty reviews. Although seeds of doubt were planted I went with my gut and enjoyed an amazing icon of RI once again Caserta's pizza!

This was my first review and felt compelled to correct what I felt were misrepresentative impressions of a Federal Hill treasure. If you are not from RI maybe you have a thin skin to an attitide of toughness. Hey If we come off as abrupt it does not necessarily mean that we are bad people. We may actually be having a tough day. Share a smile with us and you will discover the side of us we share with our friends. Get to know us and you will have a friend for life.

You would have to be an idiot to order green peppers on a Casserta pizza. That's like ordering ketchup for your stake serloin. Don't get me wrong peppers are good on Chicago style pizzas and the like but this is not Chicago or New York. This is Providence, Rhode Island. And this is our pizza (and our atmosphere for that matter)!

I worked at Uncas Mfg. from 1967 to 1972. A work friend introduced me to Casserta's. Thirty nine years later.... I still loved their pizza. The menu is almost the same now as it was then. I don't mind the parking, waiting for a table, the limited menu, or picking up my own order. I am a loyal customer, and will be until I die. Casserta's..... don't change a thing!

I moved here from NYC and thing first thing I ask is "where can I get a good pizza?" Lots of Italians here, so I figure I can't lose right? Wrong! Man, Rhode Islanders do not know good pizza. Glaring example is Caserta's. I've had frozen supermarket pizza that was better. For what Caserta's charges for a pie, you could send a kid to college. Another clunker is that they act like they're doing you a favor by serving you one of their atrociously over priced pizzas. Tasteless crust, like Wonder bread. Sauce like ketchup, horrible!! If they opened up a joint like this in NYC or Brooklyn, they wouldn't last a week. They'd find the owners in a dumpster along with their pizzas! Anyone coming in from out of town...stay away! The locals just don't have a clue, they haven't tasted what other cities have to offer.

My husband and I are from the area and we weren't impressed at all with their pizza. We have had better elsewhere. Everyone has a right to their own opinion but we prefer not eating there again. Nothing to brag about and we don't understand why they have such a high rating to begin with.

Ok I know pizza and I know value however this pizza joint in the middle of mafia land is just plain boring...what the heck are you people thinking. The sauce is over cooked and bland, the crust is hardly cooked and worst of all your locals run around saying how wonderful this place is - I think they use the words "wicked good" to describe the pizza...so sad - you need a brick oven to cook pizza and for goodness sake add some spice to the dishes. Wake up - go to Italy or Chicago and get back to making real Italian fare.

I think this pizza has a far greater appeal if you grew up eating it. I am from New Haven CT, and I don't care for this particular type of pizza at all. It is very heavy, and the sauce is very acidic. Although it looks and smells great, I don't care for the taste or aftertaste at all.

I think this place had a good rep "back in the day" and now people go on what they hear and like in many things in life, they follow others. My parents brought this stuff home when I was little and I hated it. Now I'm in my mid-twenties and I still hate it. Bad crust, terrible, terrible sauce, rude young women with claws for nails working at the counter. Terrible dining atmosphere. That's my opinion, but if you check out what other's are saying, it seems to be the consensus. Ick! I'd rather go to Felini's for NY style pizza. Or Zaccagnini's in Cranston for pizza strips. Those are yummy!

I have been here several times before and the pizza is so-so. BUt this time, the crust was burnt and they wouldn't redo it. They wouldn't give me the manager name. My 2 daughters and I just left and will not go back. Another mistake was the terrible parking, if I wanted to pay this much for pizza with no parking, I'd go to Pizza Hut

I am amazed that this place rates ANYWHERE near the top of ANYBODY'S best pizza. They must have put out an excellent product for their to be so much latent good will expressed for this place.
The pizza was sub-par at best. The atmosphere has all the charm of a cattle car. The service is downright hostile. What gives? Do not waste your time and money on this pizzaria.

Caserta Pizzeria has extremes. Some of the staff are obnoxious and condescending. The pizza is either one of the best you've ever had or one of the worst...overcooked and tough. There is no
rhyme or reason. I do stop in there fairly regularly
to buy Wippy Skippies (spinach pies to die for) but almost never to order pizza. I overheard customers from out of town as they were leaving the restaurant saying that there must be another Caserta's in the area because this couldn't be the one they'd been told about. Unfortunately, that has been the problem with Caserta's for EONS.

This place has the worst service in RI. Counter personel think they are doing you a favor taking your order. Last time I was there they told me order was not ready and then 30 minutes later found it on the counter. It was cold, the young lady told me to take it or leave it she did not care. Well I have not been back there since.

Caserta's is rated as the best pizza in Prov? YOU HAVE GOT TO BE KIDDING !!!!! Maby it was when the orriginal owner ran it. But, in my opinion, it rates right up their with Pizza Hut, Domanos, Papa Johns and even Chuck E Cheeses. In other words, nothing special short of lousey. If you really want good piza in Providence, Bob & Timmies and Cecelias are good choice's. Antonio's on Thayer Street (next to College Hill Book Store) is an excelent choice as well. Sorry, but Caserta's just dosent do it for me. Sorry.

Caserta's has the wonderful homemade taste of my grandmothers cooking.Just the smell alone makes you hungry. The atmoshpere is very simple and homey feeling. And there is nothing I like better than eating pizza with my fingers instead of sitting in a fancy restaurant eating wood fired pizza with china and a fork and knife.I intoduced my husband to Caserta's and now he can not get enough.Being in Federal Hill is like being in Italy all over again. My father always said it is like being where he is from.

Pros: good portions, home cooking, area

Cons: parking

Caserta Pizza is the best Pizza in all of Rhode Island. Their trademark sauce pizza is incredible, and no other resturant can come close to matching it. Caserta doesn't pretend to be a gourmet resturant, but instead, a great pizza place, and it does this.
