Benjamin's is under new ownership since the last review was written, and the change is a positive one. The restaurant has been remodeled inside and out, the service is very good, and the food is great, particularly the seafood--the

Owner is arrogant and rude.
The waiter forgot to put the order in for the appetizers. The owner happened to serve the main course and when asked what happened with the appetizers he abruptly and rudely responded "I will take it off the bill" I replied that we were a little disappointed. The owner then asked very rudely "Do you want the main course or do you want me take it back. Do you want the food or not." SIX times making me beg for the food. I said politely fine but please cancel the appetizers. He then responded rudely ?I told you I would remove them from the bill?. He then went to the wait stations and commented to the waiter very loudly ?Everybody has a problem?, he made sure we heard.

The owner was a complete arrogant imbecile. Not once did he or the waiter apologize for forgetting half the food order. The waiter then delivered the appetizers after the meal was completed and people were eating desert.

I have never been so insulted in my life. Mind you the food and prices were good. BEWARE OF THE IDIOTIC ARROGANT RUDE ILL-MANNERED OWNER AND DIM-WITTED ABSENTMINDED WAITER.

The staff did put on a good show. The bus boy was clearing the table next to us and since the waiter had disappeared for 30 minutes we asked for ice tea refills. He obliged immediately and left (without finishing clearing the table). He never returned with the ice tea or clearing the table. He finally appeared in the dining room only to get ice from the ice maker. He spilt an enormous amount of ice and looked confused. He pushed most of it back in the small closet (with the ice maker) with his feet and some under the adjacent table. The bar tender arrived shortly after opened the closet door and all of the ice went flying in the dining room.

I still gave the waiter a 20% tip. It is not his fault that the owner is moron.

Pros: Excellent food, great prices.

Cons: The owner serves and he is arrogant, rude and makes the dining experience insulting.

Lobster is a great deal, but don't expect to find a hidden gem here. Waitstaff is busy watching TV at the bar and cooks are busy looking at the help wanted ads in the local paper. Food is bland. You don't even want to take what you didn't eat home after your finished.
