I have a family member that resides in Russell County that is a little larger than most folks. There is not ONE hospital that can accommodate any of her needs. They have NO LIFT large enough to lift her and they have NO bed large enough

Most docters there don't know what they're doing! I have seen only 1 docter there that is thorough and takes his time with you. Dr. Dennison is a wonderful dr. But the center now has a new policy that you can not switch docters anymore

I wanted to address the other two reviews because I am very familiar with this facility having been treated by doctors here my whole life. I can't speak for the nurse that "treated badly" saw, but I do agree that the doctor you saw does

It is Thursday ,November 12th 2009 and i just got home from the Bristol County Medical Ctr, and once i walked out that door i was in tears for the way i was treated, or should i say "not treated"!! . It began with the nurse saying "oh you have done this before. The last time i visted this medical center was 1 yr ago after i was in a car accident. Since then i have been diagnosed with 2 herniated and 1 disk tear. My cervical 2-3, thoracic 5-6, and the tear is l-5-s-1. Arthritis in my thoracic, djd dz, and spondylosis. Ive been in rehabilitation for this problems. I injured my back 2 days ago, unlike what is already going on. I was on the bike path in Barrington with my daughter, which was in an elmo walker. I saw a biker coming fast so i quickly turned bent over and quickly picked her up. As soon as i did i heard and felt something in my lower lumbar rip, or something for 2 days i have been in serious pain. I was trying ice , and anti-immflamatories, but it is getting worse as time goes on. On a scale of 1-10 the discomfort is a 9. Dr Howard Perrone came in the room never examined my injury, did no vitals. I explained what happened the past year and his response was welll i can give you flexerall. He said " is that good enough" immediatly the way he said it was as if i was a drug addict lookung for drugs. I was shocked, and horrified. He wrote the prescription for a muscle relaxer without even examing me, and walked out. I nicley asked the nurse when was the last time i was seen here and for what. She replied "Oh a while, a year ago, 1 week after you were in the car accident". I walked out and broke down in tears, because i was painful, and the way he looked and spoke to me. A YEAR! i Felt dirty. Im now going to RI hospital, because unfortunatly this state has a HIGH ratefor drug abusers and seekers. It's not right to ASSUME that with a patient that has legitmate chronic back problems.

Pros: its in BRISTOL

Cons: The inconsiderate DR'S

.

My son fell off of his scooter and cut his hand pretty badly. I brought him to the Bristol Medical Center where we were told the doctor thought it was too much work for her. We were told he could not be treated there. I was informed that they are only obligated to treat adults. Ridiculous, just plain ridiculous. Good to know I will have to call 911 in the future if I have a mild emergency with one of my children. Basically, the doctor was too lazy to treat my son's wound, but she wasn't too lazy to treat what appeared to be a hypochondriac who came in because she had a small lump in her arm. Just another reminder of how little the people in Rhode Island think of children and their well being.

Pros: Hmm....

Cons: Incompetence and laziness by the entire staff
