Dr. P knows that I don't like medication. We are trying cholesterol-lowering foods and exercise first- she is open to alternative treatments- I had a great appointment and her staff is great! A+!

Would not recommend for suspected serious illness or injury...I have gone there for routine theraputic phlebotomies, simply because it's a closer hospital for me. They could never find a vein, stabbing me with the huge needle several times before giving up. Once the nurse fell off her chair, leaving the large needle dangling from my arm as my blood was shooting out and running down my arm. I now go to Lawrence & Memorial Hospital for my therapy now, as I had before, the staff at L&M are exceptional, never a problem. Most people go to South County Hospital that lives in and areas surrounding Westerly, the feedback is always good. Several people I know who have had various types of surgeries there have had them botched at Westerly Hospital, leaving them with a condition worse than before. Choose your Physician well and you will be in good hands. There are some amaznig Physicians in Westerly..., as good as they are, if you have a procedure done, when that amazing Dr. is finished doing his thing... you are now at the mercy of the staff there, and that's the scarey part. They should release all of their existing staff and replace them, I think more people would use Dr.'s associated with this hospital more. As far as the ER... I once went there with a kidney stone????... they never found the stone but treated me for having one..?? how do you do that????.... Another time when I went there (before the dangling needle thing), I had a nurse argue with me about the purpose of my therapy... she had absolutely NO IDEA what she was talking about, since I've had this condition for over twenty years and am quite certain what it is.... Another time I was there, I had surgery, the Physician is brilliant... I was in the recovery room and as I begin to wake, I called out for a nurse, interrupting her conversation with another staffer about a recipie they were sharing... she shouted at me, loudly... "Okay Joy, what is it you want... you're fine... go back to sleep"!!!! and she continued discussing the recepie! last words of advise: BEWARE.. and again choose your health care provider with caution. Also, make sure your doc is board certified....

Very thorough, but almost too much so. Good care but a doctor who expolits your insurance company in a very short time.

Westerly hospital is a good place to go for non life threatening illness or routine surgery. I wouldn't go there for a mammogram however. They seem a tad lost in that department.

The westerly hospital is awful. When I had pneumonia I had a very high fever and it took them 2 hours to bring me tylenol. At that point my doctor had me transfered elsewhere. Would not recommend.
