Do NOT get a massage there. I have had many massages and from both male and female therapists. I was asked if I had a preference for gender and I said I did not. What a huge mistake. Ivan did not respect any privacy. ALL other therapists I have had in the past from other places use the sheets/blankets on the table to cover me in the right places. I left Vada feeling exposed and unhappy. It was an awful experience.

when going to get your manicure ask for Marina.
she is great at doing manicures. i have a problem when my cuticules grow too fast. so whenever i am there she removes it to the 'T', unlike other people there. her tools are always sharp and she is very careful.
when she puts nailpolish she does a great job: precise, clean and neat.

I went here for my first ever manicure and it was great. I was suppose to go to a near by salon to get then done but the appointment was lost. I ended up here and the price was hard to refuse. $10 for a manicure in Manhattan is a rare find and my manicurist was soo nice. One star subtracted for the reception

I got a facial today and the facialist was very nice. She was attentive however she left me with horrible skin at the end of the facial. My skin has dark purple blotches and marks all over and it feels hot & stings.

I don't know what to do now, I am probably going to wait one or two days before calling my dermatologist for an emergency appointment. I don't know if I should call the spa.

Ivan gives an amazing massage. He is polite, strong and extremely skilled. I often get deep tissue massage, and I think Ivan is the best I have had.

I have been coming here since they opened and must have gotten all of their services so far. I really have absolutely no complaints. The prices are very affordable, The service is satisfactory and the front desk girls are always on top of what needs to be. Once they messed up with me. They saw I was upset and the girls really were darling in doing everything possible for me to feel better and forget the mess up (which eventually I did.) There are really not to many places that will do that. This is why I will always stick with the girls at Vada Spa. Thanks for everything and keep up your great work.....

I booked through lifebooker and after my wax (which i was happy with), I went to pay and they DOUBLED the cost of my wax by claiming that I had additional services done which have always been included at previous spas. The front desk was nasty when I tried to protest and upon leaving I was told that this happens often. For the amount that I ended up paying I could have gone to a top spa.

I made an appointment through Lifebooker for their laser. It was really well priced and I read the Lifebooker review. I am very satisfied with everything here. The front desk was professional. The spa was clean and comfortable. Some places have these little rooms where they do laser, wax, massage everything. My laser tech Emily was very knowledgeable and the ordeal was relatively painless. Is there anything more that is needed?

I have been coming her for about 3 months now. I bought the laser 6 session package and so far everything has been exactly what I expected and just the way it was explained. Maybe even a little better as the pain was not even close to what I expected. Yesterday I got a facial with Rena and am thrilled, she really showed me some tricks about skin care and the Pevonia cream was excellent for my skin. I can honestly say that this place does what it says and delivers on good service. Of Course if you care about the price (which I do) then it makes this even more of a gem. I give it 4 not 5 stars because it was a bit chaotic sometimes and I did have to wait. But The savings is real and the service is very satisfactory so I guess like most New Yorkers I don't mind.

I went here last summer for a manicure and pedicure. The front desk person was polite and brought me a glass of wine while I was getting a pedicure. The manicurist did a good job on the french pedicure and it came out REALLY nicely. She was a little rude though making comments about how I need to get my nails done more often, relax!, etc.. I came to relax not be berated.

I would come back again because they did a good job especially for the price but hope that the manicurist will be more polite.

I am writing to inform everyone that that the staff working in Vada spa are truely unprofessional, underqualified, most don't even have a license to perform the services they do. A CERTIFICATION IS NOT A LICENSE!!! A licence requires several months to several years of education and training, which also requires knowledge of the English language. A certificate can be brought for a small fee and a few hours of time. The piece of paper means nothing! People, if you want to be burned by a laser tech who never got licenced, ok! If you want a wax on your face with the same stick that was just used on someone elses butt, ok. If you want a broken back by an unqualified massuse, ok. If you want to catch an infection or disease by the unsanitary conditions of the tools used for mani pedi, ok. But, I think that the only one that should be in scars for life, is the owner, Kate! She should be ashamed of herself! I hope she has good insurance. She's gonna need it!!!

I decided to go to Vada Spa on a wim and I have never been so pleased with my Brazilian as I was with this place. Unlike a lot of these reviews, I did not have a traumatic experience with my waxer. Excellent job in 7 or so minutes. I did not feel rushed. Who actually wants their Brazilian to go slowly? It was quick, not too painful and Rena was excellent. I will definitely go back!

I really shopped around before agreeing to get my legs and Brazilian laser. At first I guess I was a little afraid. I found this place online and had a sea and earth facial which I was really impressed with. Samantha went over everything and really pointed out some points that I didn't know all of that was just $85. Recently I had my first session of laser. AND the pain wasn't even close to what I expected. Much much better then waxing. I am thrilled that I had it done and am writing about how great the whole thing turned out. The whole thing was just $199 with this special they are doing. I know that it is much more then wax but in 5 more session I can forget about wax altogether, definitely worth it 100%!!!

I went there on an impulse. After my work I hopped on the subway and walked in to the salon. The girl at the front was polite. I asked for Earth& Sea Facial and I was told I could have it in 15 minutes. I was led upstairs. In less time the beautician took over and gave me a really nice facial that included eye treatment , extraction and massage. I was satisfied.
Why four stars then? I was expecting a little more information. It was my first visit and I was hoping to get more information about what was going on. I also asked if I could have a different facial (I have rosacea prone skin) and I was a little disappointed with what I heard. It is a place for someone who knows what s/he wants.
Would I go again? Maybe.
If I do it will be probably for the same facial I got.

I am thrilled with my back once again! I have been waxing and waxing forever. I was always afraid of the laser and all of that stuff, plus it was expensive, so I waxed and continued to wax. But i got this coupon from Metro one day, went to their website and called them up. It was a bit expensive (compared to waxing) BUT now after my 6th treatment, I can honestly say it was well worth it. I felt like a fool for not doing it sooner. Now I am ready for summer and can't wait for the beach, come on July!

I had a very nice massage, manicure with pedicure gift. My boyfriend surprised me with this gift card for vada. I just got my treatments done and it was just wonderful. Ivan gave me such a relaxing massage that I fell asleep. I was sorry to see that the 60 minutes were up. I was taken down to get my manicure and pedicure. A very nice woman, Sara did a great job on my toes and fingers. Everything was perfect. I will try to come back in a month as I work pretty close. I really cannot say anything other then I was very happy with everything and everyone.

Saw in Time Out that they were having great February deals. Went in for a spa mani/pedi and boohoo...they really didn't do a good job. My friend and I sat side by side and we were truly disappointed. No massaging the feet, the manicures looked sub-par and took over three hours to dry - we both went home after drying for 1/2 hour and when I woke up the next morning, my nails were all creased and nicked. My friend took her polish off that night because it looked such a mess. They were very very nice, but after an embarrassing episode where the woman helped her put her tights on - in the front window for the whole world to see - although it gave a us a good laugh - we agreed we would never forget this experience as strange and disappointing and will stick to the cheaper nail salon across the street from work. Sorry, Vada. It just wasn't worth the $$.

I got a cut and color and couldn't wait to get home where nobody could see me. Then I cried over my poofy mushroom hair that was supposed to be a cute modern pixie cut. The worst part of the service was the color which is brassy orange in some places, greyish purple in others, and the whole thing has a kind of greenish tint. it has also been stripped of all silkiness, from root to tip. i feel really mean complaining because the woman who did it was so nice but it looks horrible i'm positive i could've done it better myself. also it cost about $200.00

I have been here twice, and it's great. All of the Manhattan spa services and settings you would want with very low prices. So far, I've had a facial and manicure/pedicure. Both times have been on weekends, so it has been a bit busy and I have had to wait. But once the services got started, I had no regrets! My facial was perfectly relaxing and the specialist seemed very interested in learning about my skin and skin care routine to personalize the experience for me. My manicure and pedicure were also great - though due to timing I had to switch technicians during my manicure which was a big annoying. I have recommended this place to plenty of friends and plan to come back soon!

I have gotten laser hair removal at another place that used Cynosure as their laser machine. I really can not say anything bad about the other place other then that it cost me about 3 times more than what I paid here at Vada. I just completed my 3rd session and everything has been wonderful. I don't regret going to the other place they were nice too, but I really got equal service here, Kate and Gina were very nice and I actually started coming here for massage as well. this is a good place and so far all of my experiences have been extremely positive.

Thank you for making my first laser hair removal experience comfortable and as pleasant as something like this can be. I had my first session (with 5 more to go) of laser hair removal with Emily and it was 100 times better then I expected. I can't wait for the sessions to be over and say good bye to shaving and waxing FOREVER!!!!
The only negative is that I had to wait for my appointment to get started even though I came in on time. but the waiting was definitely worth it as I am looking at my legs now and they are smooth.

I am writing because I really feel that I could a greeat deal and service here at Vada. JUST $75 I got my feet scrubbed, full leg with Brazilian bikini wax done and a great, excellent manicure. And my girl Rima, (can't speak for everyone) was terrific. The waxing was perfect, I had this done before at a few other places, and dreaded it every time. But Rima made me feel as if my next waxing will not be as dreadful. I really did not expect how great everything turned out given their price, (and I was wrong to do this) SUPER, SUPER and I will be back!

I know citysearch for a long time, I know who and what kind of reviews people can write, I know how ppl are using the "same language", I know that spa managers/owners can write good reviews for their spa-well, nothing to judge-this is their business, but why do you have to write bad reviews for the competitors????? this will not help you to get more customers. I would recommend to concentrate on the business instead, how to improve it, what specials to make etc, but not to waste time and to show your stupidity (excuse my French :)) and write bad things about other spa. I was working at Vada Spa. What can I say? There was not even a ONE customer who was complaining, who was not happy with the services etc. I know for sure that this spa is always CLEAN, fresh, stylish!!! And if you are a smart person (not the one who is writing bad reviews) you would at least write something that is close to the truth-every review has the same complaint, has the same words! Do you have imagination to write something different? well, you need to try the services at Vada spa to write your opinion, not just to make it up! I am not writing this review to be on Vada spa side due to the fact that I used to work there, but those "bad" reviews are just ridiculous! If a person who tried at least ONE service at Vada read/saw these reviews, he/she would never trust any word from that!! And please, if your spa is dirty (I know that-it took me 2 minutes to see that, plus I was interviewed in a waxing room which was not clean at all)-that does not necessarily mean that all other spas are like yours! Please, be an adult-at your age it's a common thing to understand-don't do that, everything comes back to you! Think about it!

Vada spa is the best spa for all services that you would expect from a spa at a price that is very reasonable and affordable. This is why our competitors such as the "reviewer" below are frightened to such a level. This term "double dipping" has been used before in another fake review. We have never re-used wax or sticks. This is a ridiculous assertion that only another spa (one that is very close to us) would write. They do not need to go far to make up such a story as I know this kind thing happens there everyday. Unfortunately , on CitySearch there are many ways for the same person to write as many reviews as he or she wants. All we can say about this is come in for yourself and see. Our place is always clean and spotless, our technicians are knowledable, our services and our prices make our next door competitors cringe. AND IF YOU MENTION THAT YOU READ THIS REVIEW WE WILL GIVE YOU A 10% DISCOUNT FROM OUR ALREADY LOW PRICES ON EVERYTHING!

Everyone should check this place out. I got a facial that was better then bliss and half the price. I must say that I was a bit hesitant because I felt that it was to cheap, but what the hell the price was so low that I figured there was not much to lose. I guess I am like most people when it comes to these spas. I go to get my nails done twice a month or so and sometimes get a facial. I found this place through my friend that has been coming here since they opened and it really turned out to be a great deal. I came out very happy with everything especially what I paid for it. I really agree with some of these others reviews about what a great deal this place really is. With these prices I could probably come here more often.

As a senior citizen, I was quite concerned about receiving a brazillian wax...It had been some time but my husband (right before he died) dared me. As I wanted to begin dating again, I wanted to look trim "down there" while also not paying a large amount of money, as I am on government assistance. BOY AM I HAPPY!!! They took great care of me and "down there" looks like it it did 10 years ago....well...20 years ago! They gave me wine but when I told them I was on prescrption anti seizure medication they had the bald short receptionist man get me milk instead. And he went out of his way to get me soy milk. Anyway I just wanted to take a minute and express my gratitude. Great people, great waxing and they treat the seniors well.

I found this place through Metro as they were advertising in it. Here's the deal-- the front desk girls are a little short with the conversation, I almost wanted to leave it was as if I was doing them a favor. But then we got started on my package deal that was super priced, just $135, I got an awesome massage with a body scrub in cranberry and a great manicure and pedicure. The place was clean, convenient to me and the girls knew what they were doing. It was really a wonderful deal and I realized that I was a little stressed and maybe even over-reacted about the front desk. I guess I will have to come back and see, and I will most definitely come back.

I went here for a brazilian wax, despite mixed reviews because of location. I clarified beforehand that they do not 'double dip' in their wax and they said they do not. Halfway through the waxing I realized she was. The woman was very unexperienced. They did not do a real 'brazilian' and when asked why they don't do it like every other spa in the city, she just said they don't. It was messy and she left patches. At the front desk they announced in front of male clients the cost for my 'brazilian'. The woman who did also stood and waited for her tip. It was a poor job and completely unprofessional service.

I just got a very nice back neck and shoulder wax and It hardley felt it. Usuallly I fel a lot of paine but the rima was very profeshional and I igiver her +++ for her work. I will ber coming here evertime.

I found this spa through Lifebooker and I was really pleasantly surprised. I just came back from my second appointment there and both times I really could not have asked for anything more! First, the service, (while not great as in some of the other more expensive spas I go to) was very good for a spa that is price conscious. I look at the total package of price service and what I'm actually getting. AND I must say that these guys get the prize. I got a full leg Brazilian for half of the price I usually pay and I got their wonderful, highly recommended Vada sea and earth facial also at half of what i usually pay and this facial was actually BETTER! I felt I had to write a review for this.

I just got my fourth laser session and I felt that it was time that I recommended this spa. I have gotten nothing but positive experiences here every time! The hair on my back is gone and I can't wait to finally be shirtless this summer. I told my friend and he is also starting the sessions. I have been to a more expensive place in the east village and I can honestly say that with the price, service, the staff (which is very knowledgeable) and most importantly the final result, this spa is unmatched. All of my appointments were with Emily, but I did speak with Gina and Kate and feel that they are very professional and qualified just as well. I honestly feel that there is no way anyone needs to pay 2 or 3 times what this spa charges if they can just come here, to this spa! If you care about what you pay and what you receive come here first and check it out for yourself.

It has come to our attention from the many false reviews by our competitors such as the one below that business must by really bad and slow for them. I don't know how they have time to run a business and smear our spa at the same time. But as always smearing our spa will not cause them to have more business. Our clients are satisfied with our price, service and the full package which they receive , that is why they keep coming back, you should try it. I know that soon you may need to close but don't blame us for your misfortune. AND as always, YOU of all people should know this-- what comes around GOES AROUND! We will no longer waste our time answering these preposterous fictitious reviews carrying their 1 star. We will let our clients answer for us! So, in conclusion good luck and if you are on 6th ave stop by and see how real services are to be done maybe you will learn something.

I can't speak for the person who just wrote the review below but that is not my case. I am very greatful that I found this place. i was thinking about laser for a while but I was nervous and thanks to the prices that kind of kept me away. But Vada had gave me the free test patch with the consult. and I went for it! I can honestly say that after 5 treatments my hair is gone! and I don't even need the last treatment. Go to Emily that was my tech. highly recommend!

Kate is the best. No wait no problems no issues! I always get top treatment at Vada. Since it opened I have had, a:
- massage- great,
- facial (4 layer-recommended)- excellent,
- manicure, & pedicure, (every week),
- waxing of my areas (I will not say anymore)- perfect,

I am nervous about the laser but that is next on my list. Please, Please come here if you are looking for great wonderful service and prices that are well within reach. I cannot say anymore just come here. You will say the rest for me...

Yay! I found Gina! Gina is my laser tech- I used to see her at Rande Elaine, but the last few times i went in they claimed something crazy like " she broke her back" and gave me to someone else. This place is super sketchy so I got a lil suspicious and started looking around and here she is!! Gina is awesome, sweet personable and makes me feel totally comfortable ( even though were doing my brazilian) also shes super professional and concerned with a light touch. Do come to vada! its sooo much cleaner, prettier and more professional than any other place in the neighborhood! Instead of being worried about the pain of the treatment im looking forward to the pampering!

I visited Vada Spa for the first time- and the last- this evening. I asked the colorist for a semi-perm. color just to cover grays and add shine. I stressed to her that I wanted it to look very natural- keep my same shade, and it came out very brassy and red tinted. I cried all night, and washed it out as soon as I got home. I am going to a different salon tomorrow to get my hair Professionally dyed.

The bathroom upstairs was nasty: paper towels on the floor, dirty towels lying around, etc.

Salon area was very dirty, too. The chairs were covered in hair and splattered with dye, dirty robes, and floor.

The waxing services were good; thank you, Mary!

I love my results and only regret not coming here sooner!! It has been 2 sessions so far and Emily is a doll. Basically everything happened just the way she said as I was a bit concerned not having done this before.
I can honestly say that Vada did the job and much better then I expected or anticipated and my bare under arms and legs are the proof. A+

Esfira is wonderful!! I was very nervous about doing this laser hair removal. Usually I stick to waxing for my legs and bikini. But the girls at the front desk kind of always mentioned to me about laser and how effective it is. So last month I decided to go for it and bought a package. I am on my second session and there is no way I can compare this to waxing. The pain is by far less and the hair is definitely less much much less, I can't wait for the sessions to end and to say good bye to waxing! The price of laser is a bit more then waxing, but now I see that it is definetly 150% worth it.

this place should stick to nails and stay away from laser. the laser technican burned me and i ended up in the hospital. they are very unproffesional, pushy and do not care about the clients well eing. save your money and do not go here..beware of vada

I went to Vada on my day off when I needed some pampering. I had a wonderful experience. Rena did an excellent job on my facial, I will go back every month. I got a massage from Eric, he was the most knowledgeable masseur I have ever had, I have a lot of injuries and he knew how to work with and around all of them, will definitely go back once a month as well. Alexa did my mani/pedi and she was wonderful as well, I have recommended all of them to my friends. I do agree that its odd to pay before your services I have never encountered that before, but the girls behind the counter were very sweet and even helped me pay so I wouldn't mess up my nails.

Linda was friendly and efficient and left me very smooth. It was as close to pleasant as a Brazilian wax could be! Also, I used a coupon and got an amazing deal. It was a pretty basic setup, but the quality far exceeded my expectations, given the low prices.

THE WORST SPA EXPERIENCE EVER
My boyfriend and I went for a couples massage this weekend which was booked a monthin advance and when we got there they said opps someone else was in the and it would be an hour wait because they over booked the room! The day before the massage I received a call from vada spa confirming my appointment. How does such a mess up happen! This was a gift for my boyfriend and we traveled a long way from connecticut for the couples massage. I was very upset and all they said was sorry there was nothing they could do because they over booked the room! They asked if we wanted to have the massage in seperate rooms ... WHAT!!? What is the point of couples massage then? I don't recommend this place to anyone, very poorly run! I have never had such a bad experience in my life and I will make sure that I tell as many people as I can NOT TO GO TO VADA SPA! I hoped this helped, there are so many spas in the city; why give your money to these people!

Nice experience, ..I read the competitors' COMMENTARY ...SO SAD.....the only thing I can say is, I will never go to give my money to bad people like THE COMPETITOR, with this comentaries waNt to salvatage this new business, I think everybody has to have the chance to make money in NY, have a little ETIQUE COMPETITORS, learn that bad o jealous people will never be succesfull, remember everything is KARMA and may be some day somebody will do the same to you, let people make some money there is enough for everybody, the most important thing is CLEANING YOURSELF OF THAT BAD ENERGY, CHANGE IS WHAT YOU NEED COMPETITOR...aftTer that probably you will make more money...try to be happy stop being so miserable...

This spa was a unique experience. When you come in there is a pleasant waiting area where they serve free refreshments including free glasses of wine.

After receiving a free patch test, I purchased a laser package of six. I then was taken to a room where the technician lasered my hair. The technician was experienced and pleasant. The space was spacious. The entire process went smoothly and there was no unpleasant surprises as in other spas. I expected the experience to be painful and was happy to see it was a painfree operation. I am now purchasing a gift card for Vada Spa for my husband.

I was in on Sunday with a few friends, and I must say, the service was great. The girls at the front were welcoming and very perky. My nails were done just the way I like. The music was a little out of place, but I can't say there was much wrong with this place. I will definitely book another appointment in the future.

I was at this spa recently and I waited a long time!!! for an appointment, not because they were crowded but because they had one person to do the waxing it seemed. the place was not spalike and serene. The person behind the desk was so curt. I won't go here again!

The first time I went there I was a little concerned about how relaxed I could get. It was a little crowded and everyone was very fast paced. But I was pleasantly surprised. The treatments I received were wonderful and a very high quality for the price. The facials are great and the esthetician took time to be percise and gentle with my sensitive skin. The nail technician was pleasant and did a wonderful job as well.
Its not a ritzy place and can be a little crowded but the service quality was amazing, especially for the price.
I especially like that they are serious about their work and the quality of it, but keep it down to earth. Also a very clean and well kept environment.

I have been to this place a few times before and felt that I should write about my experience. Both times I was here in mid-day about 2 or 3. I suppose at that time you can pretty much just come in get whatever you need and leave without any waiting. So far I have had a pedicure, manicure and on Tuesday, I had a facial with a haircut, style and blow-out. I really have no complaints and for the price I can definitely give this spot 5 stars. For me this place is extremely convenient, It is clean and the girls know what they are doing. Jenny who did my hair was wonderful (even though her English was ?not so good?). She does speak Portuguese, Spanish and Russian. I was concerned for 1 minute but somehow she was able to ease my concerns and I am really happy with her work.

My facial was with Samantha who is from the Caribbean. It was amazing. Samantha pointed out my ?problem areas? we did the mask and I really really am glowing. I feel like I have a new face. I can recommend this place, and have to my friends already. The service and what you ultimately pay is incredible and I will be coming here in the future.

They didn't have any air conditioning when I went there. Aren't we going through a heat wave? Spa's are suppose to take you on a mini-vacation...This place was really muggy. Are they going green without ventilation? If so, they should go green the right way. Oh, and why would you yell at your worker, "Jorge?" Don't you have any shame in treating an employee in that manner whether they are a "Jorge" or an "Amy?" For having a big rainbow flag in the window, you seem quite intolerant.

I was super surprised at what a great facial I just received. Even more so was that it cost me HALF of what I would have paid at my regular place. Rena did a wonderful job explaining and even though I had the micro done before, this time my skin and face was glowing. I made my second appointment and I am so glad I took the chance to walk in. wonderful, wonderful, spa and I extremely highly recommend it to anyone....

We are visiting New York and come here every beginning of summer. The village is one of those places I enjoy especially this week. Anyway this place, vada is new since I didn't see it last year but I must say that, they really took care of us. I got a full wax done and my partner got the spa mani and pedi as well as a wax on his shoulders. The wine was a great touch and everyone was very nice, I will definitely be back next time and I can recommend this place to anyone.

As I entered the spa for my birthday brazilian wax I wasn't thrown back, it is a clean and tidy place but I just imagined it different with the title Spa on it. The person who greeted us at the desk wasn't all that jolly, but the woman who performed my brazilian was sweet. I left in pain and a bit satisfied from the place, but once i got home to check on my nether regions it was completely irritated I felt the pain!!!! It was horrible I imagined it to be nice and smooth what I got was bumpy red and swollen! I am not satisfied at all!!! Makes me realize that I should have sprung for the more expensive brazilian else where. If you want your down there to be all burned and peeling i suggest you go to Vada... I wasn't the only one either I went with my cousin that day and she had the same complaint, we didn't have a good brazilian experience. There's no way we're going back there again!!

I absolutely love this spa. I used to go to one place for my manicures, another for my waxes, and yet another for my facials. VADA has everything- great products, great ambiance, and great service. Living in the area for a number of years, i havent found another place with comparable service for the great prices.
HIGHLY RECOMMENDED, I have already turned a number of my friends and colleagues on to VADA, all who thanked me for finding this place!!

I don't know about the negative responses written previously, but my experience was nothing but FANTASTIC. The people working there are extremely nice and constantly checked that my manicure was coming out the way I wanted it to look. One time I walked in during a busy period and was told my wait would be 20 minutes--and it was just that- no longer than the 20 minutes they promised- which is rare among salons which usually say 5 minutes when the wait is 30 min or more.

Most importantly, the WAXING was SUPER CLEAN. The waxer wore gloves and didn't double dip her sticks. I lived in that area for 4 years and I think for the quality, price and cleanliness this place can't be beat.

I've been there several times already and I'll keep coming back.

I was looking for a less expensive alternative to my usual eyebrow wax and decided to give Vada Spa a try when I saw the ad in Metro NY. On May 24th I had a pedicure and an eyebrow waxing. The pedicure was fine and uneventful, which I fully expected for the price.
The eyebrow wax was another story. I told the aesthetician that I had an eyebrow waxing the week prior but that I wasn't satisfied with the results. She just nodded her head and proceeded. I got some serious burns from the procedure. It really hurt for som e 30hrs. While I waited for the pedicure to dry, I told them about the pain and they put some ointment on it. I asked for ice and they supplied it. They also said that my skin was just sensitive due to waiting only a week between waxings. I do wish I had been told that PRIOR to the waxing. I didn't know since I had never done it a week apart. The next morning a number of large open wounds (or maybe scabs? It hurt too much to touch) were visible all around my eye area. I wore shades all day and used Neosporin. Friends asked what the hell happened to me.
I emailed pictures of the damage to Vada. They wrote back apologetically, offering me a refund and a complimentary eyebrow waxing with their sensitive skin wax (which is one of the reasons I decided to try them). I got my refund but can't see myself going there for another waxing.
They were friendly and courteous. Though I think the title "spa" is excessive. I expect more when I hear that word used.

Got my hair removed from my legs for the first time using a laser and it was amazing. I will never go back to waxing. Esfira was wonderful and I highly recommend her. I had a coupon from another place near by when I picked up the voice and found this place. Honestly, I went in by accident as I was going to use the coupon at the other place. I got a manicure while I kind of checked the place out and the girl at the front mentioned about laser. We talked and she said that they accept other coupons. I got the consultation and I really wasn't sure. But after a little patch piece they did I went for the whole thing. I don't understand the other reviewers; maybe they had a bad day or something. But I will definetly be back and already told my friends to come by.

So here's the lowdown. Yeah, a lot of what has been said is true- the ambiance is hospital-like, the staff is a bit aloof, pushy at times, etc. BUT the prices really are great and the results of the services are great. Rina is an amazing aesthetician for a facial, she is knowledgeable and will do wonders for your skin. The place promises and delivers, at least for facials, though it doesn't have its act together 100% on timeliness or customer service. It is nowhere near 5 star service, I wonder if they really do have the amount of business they say they do, but at least you'll get a great deal for Manhattan.

I visited the spa for the first time this week and loved the experience. I got a couple of treatments done and was very satisfied. The girl who did the facial for me (I don't remember her name) did such a thorough job plus she gave my face a soothing massage which not all facialists do for some reason. I also had a massage and body scrub with Ivan who was just so nice. I had my massage upstairs (didn't even know they had a downstairs like the other girl said) and I was given a robe lol. The place is clean and trendy and for the prices you can't go wrong. I'm definately going back.

A friend and I decided to come here for spa week for a massage. We figured since it was new it couldnt' be that bad. WARNING, this is a nail salon not a spa. Upon check in, I was asked for the payment prior to the massage which is unusual for spa. A masseuse had walked me to the massage room, which was downstairs of the nail salon, since they do not have a locker room. As I was changing and about to go under the blanket someone walked in on me and saw me in the buff. The person quickly closed the door. I was horrified and jumped under the blanket. The person didn't even have the courtesy to knock first. Anyways, five minutes later my masseuse comes in and doesn't even apologize even after being told what just happened. She then proceeds to ask me if I have anything to tie my hair because "it will always get in her way." Of course she was annoyed that I didnt. I've been to many salons and they always have a locker room and never have they asked me to tie my hair back. During the massage all i heard was the people upstairs in the nail salon walking back and forth and the workers speaking very loudly right outside my door. Not a very relaxing atmosphere, it was so bad that my masseuse had to stop, open the door and shush her coworkers. Someone again opened the door while i was getting the massage and quickly closed it. This time the person only saw my back but again how rude is that?! After the horrible rubbing had ceased, the masseuse had asked me if I would like to take a hot shower or be wiped down with towels. I asked where the shower was and she told me it was upstairs and that they didnt have bathrobes that i can wear. So I really didn't have a choice but to be wiped down with a towel. This is absolutely the WORST place I have ever been to. The best thing the owner did was to offer 15% off the next service,saying that they were so busy because of spa week. (There was only one other person there aside from me and my friend.) Avoid at all costs.

They gave me a nice massage on my feet with the chair massaging my back. That was great. But what I really liked was the pedicure. You should have seen my feet. I had 2 ingrown toe nails and the little black fuzz that collects in between my toes, not a pretty site. Rima (I'm sure, closed her eyes and prayed) took my feet and a short 40 minutes later made my feet look like movie stars. AND it only cost me $22. I will definitely be back, and I hope to have Rima do my feet now that they are so pretty

I found this spa through spa week and made an appointment for their 60 minute massage. At first I was not that comfortable because it seemed that there was to much going on and I had to wait almost 30 minutes. But the massage with Ivan was great and just what I needed. I took their menu and their prices seemed really reasonable so I decided to get the chocolate facial done. I thought that I had to make an appointment but the front desk took me in and apologize for the wait explaining the "spa week" situation. Clara gave me some super advise on what to do with my dry skin that I didnt think would work, but one week after the facial my skin looks better then ever. I will definitely be back when their outside deck opens for the summer. Great looking place, great knowledgeable people +++
