I brought my dog here and I can say that he really loved the way the groomers handled him. Thank you very much and you'll get my recommendation.

I must admit, I was nervous after reading these reviews about County Animal Clinic, but set those worries aside because of a coupon I found on their website for a FREE first exam. ( I felt I had nothing to loose, and if I didnt like it, I wouldnt go back. everyone is on a budget these days, but I knew when I got my cat that medical bills were going a part of being a good parent to my pet. I even called around and their prices seemed to match those of the surrounding vets) I thought I would check it out for myself, and I am extremely happy that I did. The front staff is funny and compassionate; they spoke to me about pet insurance, pet nutrition, and gave me an idea of cost for vaccines, blood work, spaying, and shared stories of their own pets.(they even faxed me a copy of my pets results upon request!) They greeted what I assumed were regulars by their first name, and one cute boy with shaggy hair at the desk gave this woman a hug upon entry. The doctor that I saw explained everything (twice) and made Smooch (my pet) and I feel comfortable. He explained the reasons for doing blood work, and calmed my nerves about putting my pet under anesthesia for the spaying (also supplied an estimate for the surgery) . He called me the very next day with my pets blood and poop results. The big day of her surgery he called me when the procedure was completed, let me know how it all went, and gave me a time to come speak about post op care and instructed me on how to give my cat medication. He even had someone call me a few days later to make sure everything was going smoothly at home. I dont know who left those reviews, but they made me realize some strangers opinion isnt worth the price of your own experience ( no reviews on the reviewers lol) . All in all I am glad that I was wise enough to check things out for myself, I couldnt be happier!

My mother brought our cat to this same place and the exact same thing happened where the cat container was not secured after our pet was placed in the cage. Upon leaving, luckily, she was able to close the cage in the parking lot and keep the cat inside without it escaping. They seem to provide professional care but can be very careless in securing pets. If you visit this place make sure not to trust the containers are secure before leaving. Check it yourself very carefully. When she mentioned what happened to her, they admitted to her that cats have escaped before so it seems to be an ongoing problem.

On May 6th, I took my 3 year old cat into County Animal Clinic to be examined for a lump on his side. This particular cat, as I explained to the vet, was pretty feral, as he was born outside and, although he was used to me and I could hold him without any problem whatsoever, he would probably have problems being handled by others.\r\n\r\nThe physical exam went well; the vet was able to feel the lump, but said he wanted to get a sample of it to send out for analysis. He brought my cat into the back to do this procedure. He came out twice, indicating that he had to sedate the cat because he was really not allowing any further hands on procedures. I gave him permission to do so and he said he had to give the cat general anesthesia and that I could leave and he would call when the cat was ready to be picked up.\r\n\r\nAbout 2 hours later, I picked up my cat who was in his carrier, and as I was walking to my car in the parking lot next to the clinic, I heard the crate door burst open and saw my cat sprinting across the lot, disappearing into the apartment complex across from the clinic. Apparently, when my cat was placed back in his carrier, someone did not close the door properly and, being frightened, confused and traumatized by the procedures performed on him, he escaped a the first opportunity by pushing at the partially locked crate door. He was able to create an opening large enough from which to escape. \r\n\r\nOf course, his escape and in all likelihood permanent loss is due to the negligence of someone within the clinic who failed to secure the carrier door properly. Although the vet apologized for the error, I'd like to know what will be the consequences for this egregious error. I know that for me, I lost a sweet and loving animal companion and for my cat, he lost a home and perhaps his life. What are the consequences for the staff responsible for this??? None as far as I have been told.\r\n\r\nI will never patronize this establishment again. I had previously used this clinic exclusively for my pets and over the course of 4-5 years, spent a significant amount of money for their medical care. However, if they messed up such a routine procedure, such as properly securing my pet, I have to wonder how they perform more difficult procedures. I would recommend that you stay away from this establishment.
