High turnover of staff, corp chain high prices. No peer review.
by Cyrano d.
A regular customer since they opened years ago. They keep going thru VMDs so much that it seems like I can never keep the same one. One wanted to to surgically remove my dog's navel until another doctor told her that is was not a tumor. Their large administrative staff also has a high turnover and seem to be more concerned with job security and pleasing the new, also every changing clinic manager. Brand new building, half of which is vacant so they have a very high overhead. The director of medicine is a quack They sell and profit from the very food and medication products they prescribe. A conflict of interest found almost universally. Very convenient location keeps them in business but if you don't have pet insurance go elsewhere. Find an independent not a chain. Get insurance early.

In regards to VCA Animal Hospital of Lynnwood
by Girl G.
couldn't locate a response section in regards to VCA Lynnwood, so this was the closest option. Been to the Alderwood location once to pick up some flea treatment, the front staff was alright but not very nice.
AT LYNNWOOD: They are overpriced and don't spend the time with your pet that you are allegedly paying for. Our chihuahua whelped at this particular location to ensure safety, it cost us over 500 dollars and every few minutes they were attempting to guilt us and pressure us to get an unnecessary C-Section on our young dog (who also has a heart murmur) This was the only complaint we have had thus far besides the fact that they charge an astronomical amount for their services. I would recommend seeing a vet who owns their own business and is not a chain.

Human level care for Human leel prices
by Marie D.
While this hospital may be full of experts with all the latest equipment BRING YOUR POCKETBOOK. These are accountants first and vets last. If you don't have the cash for thousands of dollars UP FRONT or can't qualify for credit, forget treatment. Insanely expensive (think THOUSANDS, minimum, not hundreds the minute you walk in the door) they not only stick you for procedures and xrays and tests at a rate that would do a human hospital shame, they won't touch your animal without money in their pockets. If you can afford huge bills and your animal is worth thousands of dollars to you and you have excellent credit to qualify for the usurious credit plan, you'll get expert care. If not, talk to your regular vet about options you can afford before you try this gilded palace.

NO complaints!
by 3Pets4Me
We have 2 dogs and a cat who have each been seen at the Alderwood Companion Clinic. We live clear up in Lake Stevens and the things that continue to bring us back to the clinic are the people! On the phone we are always treated as if we are their only clients....almost like we are family. Everyone there has the honest belief that animals are extremely important to their owners. Their prices are competitive and they are truly honest and thorough!
Pros: Service, hospitality, value and compassion

Wonderful Staff
by intranzit
We've been clients at this clinic for about 8 months now. In that time, we have made 2 emergency visits (1 for our dog after he ingested some coffee beans, 1 for our cat after she broke her hip playing with our other cat), and we've taken both our dogs in for their annual shots.
First, the hospital is open on Sundays. This was a lifesaver for our dog the morning of Christmas Eve.
The staff is wonderful, always friendly and helpful. More importantly, they seem to know how to keep records properly, which I have found to be a rare quality. Whenever I need information for an airline or a boarding facility, I have a very easy time getting it from the receptionists, which I really appreciate. We have seen 3 different vets at the hospital, and while Dr. James is definitely my favorite, they have all been very competent and good with our animals.
Over the past 3 years, we have had an absolutely miserable time finding a competent vet who had an equally competent and friendly staff. After bouncing from clinic to clinic, I can happily say that Alderwood has our business from here on.
Pros: Staff is friendly, vets are competent and good with the animals.
Cons: Veterinary services are expensive. But that's anywhere.
