Best Spa EVER!
by norman m.
The I Spa San Francisco is located in the Intercontinental. It is on the sixth floor which is cool, because if you get a massage there on a foggy day it can literally be heavenly, since you would be getting a massage in the clouds, weird I know but someone has to think of these things and I do, and now that the theme is set I am going to run with it.
The spa itself is the stereotypical version of heavenly, it has flute/native American/ soothing sounds/ enya ish music playing, which personally is my version of hell but the great thing is that I can bring in my I-pod and connect it to the stereo in the room so I can listen to the clash, my personal view of heaven. The interior is very sleek and soothing, like you are in a modern cloud, raindrop and all.
The facilities within the spa are great as well, steam bath and a swiss shower are two things that are a must when I become rich and famous, well maybe just the swiss shower, I don't really need the steam room that much. It also has a nice area to sit down and wait for your massage treatment and just relax, or wait, but at least it's a nice waiting area, and its quiet.
Going into massage is great because the rooms are gorgeous, and well really as long as the clash is playing I am pretty easy to please. Joe strummer rocks my socks off. The massage was great, they focused on everything that I asked them to and all of my kinks were worked out.
The treatment was great. I left the place feeling uber realaxed and a little bit sweaty, that's my fault for using the steam room though. The experience was great and I will be back, I think this is the only place in the city where I can bring in my i-pod, once again I love the clash and I am going to use it to close, this place was heavenly, as in the sence of heaven that is portrayed in pictures and movies.

...wish i was back in san francisco
by heather l.
when i walked in I was greeted by a very friendly staff who patiently described the services to me...and how they can CUSTOMIZE everything to my need (just communicate)
the facilities (which btw is on the 6th floor of this new hotel) are SUPER clean. no hairs on the floor. no hairs on the drain. everything was clean serene and pretty ...just as it SHOULD be you know?
my massage was called traveler or something. i got 80 minutes because i think i deserved it. it was a little bit of everything swedish a little deep tissue with aromatherapy. PERFECT.
then i got my facial with i forget her name but it was amazing. she said that they were murad only but their stuff was PERFECT. my face had a bit of a glow afterwards...a little red from the extractions but who isn't right? then~ i sat in the steam room for a while to total detox (last night's drink...okay 2 drinks) and i never felt i was pressured to leave. sales were nevery pushy it was more to educate me on how to take care of my skin....
after my little detox, i went back into to the lounge area, got some snacks, and hot tea then got my ass out of there =) i took advantage of some discount coupons that i found~ yayy!!!!

Really great spa
by holly94123
I-Spa is near my office and I am so lucky! The staff is wonderful and everything is very nice and relaxing there. This is probably only the 3rd spa I've been to, but it is the best. Hmm, I should probably make an appointment there now... ;)
Pros: Great staff, great place
Cons: Inside hotel, but not a big deal

Such an Awesome Spa
by rynoc
I came here for a facial, it was amazing. I heard on myspace that they had a special for 80 minute treatments if you printed up a coupon. I got the Thyme peel facial. All of my dead skin cells were gone. All of them. It was so great. I looked like ten years younger. Melinda was my aesthtitician, i have no idea how to spell that, anyways it was great. I got to use the steam room and just be calm, which is great since I am working more than fourty hours every week. Such a good little oasis and super close to everything. YAY I-Spa
Pros: Intercontinental, need I say more?
Cons: Its on the 6th Floor.

great romantic couples treatment
by NicholasConroy
My wife and I had the romance couples ritual as part of our 5th anniversary celebration and she loved it. It was my first time at a spa and I didn?t know what to get, but Ryan was patient and walked me through all the services so I can maximize my experience there. The spa was immaculately well kept and the staff was very kind. I don?t know much about spas, but my wife says it?s one of the best spas she?s ever been to and the massage therapist Valarie and Gardner were amazing. Gardner focused on the knots in my back and I felt incredibly relaxed afterwards. I defiantly recommend it for anyone looking for a new spa to try out in sf. They also validated my valet parking with the hotel which was nice.
Pros: romantic, lots of natural sunlight
Cons: location

awesome pedicures!
by LaurenHoang
I was there about a week ago to get the hot stone reflexology pedicure since I was on my feet all week around the city. I changed into a robe and relaxed against their plush cushions as the Linda got to work on my tired feet and it was amazing. They use the hot stones to massage and use pressure points to relieve stress and they do the regular pedicure thing too with polish. The whole thing cost me $100 but it was 80 min long and defiantly worth every penny. The front desk was very friendly and knowledgeable about all the treatments and I made an appointment for a facial before I left. So I will keep you posted!
Pros: great pedicures, relaxation lounge, great atmosphere
Cons: the steam room was under construction.

Great place to throw a party
by KatieRays
My girlfriends and I came by (all 5 of us) for her 30th birthday bash. We all decided to get the Spa and the City for like $200 each and included 50min massage and 50 min facial (my choice) and complimentary mimosas and a cute little gift bag to take home with us. All the girls arrived together and they were really accommodating and Megan, the front desk girl, walked us through the locker area and helped us get settled in. The lounge didn?t have enough room (5 chairs) to accommodate the group but we took the party outside in the patio which was a big plus. We ended up ordering food through room service and had a bast! The esthetician and the massage therapist were all experienced and I was happy to be in their hands. The locker area and the steam room was big enough for all of us and the birthday girl was extremely pleased~ it was all our first time there and I think we?re all planning to come back and take advantage of the specials that they have listed. I defiantly recommend it for parties since we were never rushed to leave or pressured into buying products. It?s a new spa so I guess not many people know about it but it?s worth trying out.
Pros: cleanliness, patio, validated parking
Cons: lounge didn't have enough chairs

SO GREAT. BEST SPA EVER
by nmelmac
I spa is one of the best day spas in san Francisco. Its prices are very competitive and they have specials every few months if you look for them which are really good. I know a bunch of people who went to there grand opening and it was awesome.
I had a treatment with Linda, it was the c results manicure and pedicure. It was wonderful and my feet and nails never looked better. It had a scrub and a foot and hand massage included which was a great way to indulge.
I most defiantly will be coming back to ISpa in the future, it was an amazing experience
Pros: super awesome everything

Amazing Brazilians!!
by AngelaLavine
this may be t.m.i. but i HAVE to rave about their brazilians!! their estheticians are very well trained and they make you feel so comfortable and it only took about 30 min but i think the whole thing is booked for like 45min or something. they were VERY clean!! (which is important when they're...working on down there) they also validated my valet parking at the hotel so it was FREE PARKING IN THE CITY!! the last girl i had was ACTUALLY brazilian! haha! i thought it was pretty funny. Lanira was her name. and she is AWESOME go see her...
tip: take some tylenol before coming in to lessen your pain...but you won't need it =)
Pros: best brazilian by a ....BRAZILIAN
Cons: not visible from the street (inside the hotel)

Best Spa EVER!!!!
by abeverhausen
I came here on a fluke one cold and rainy day to get a massage because burke Williams was booked. It was great because it was super close to the Westfield center and a lot nicer than burke Williams, A lot. The rooms here are huge, and the fact that there is not screaming children and shoppers all around really makes me feel a whole lot better and yet it is only one block away from the Westfield center.
I got a massage from Danielle and it was wonderful. The therapist defiantly knew what they were doing. I had a Travelers Tonic which is there signature treatment and it was awesome.
The second time I went I got a scrub and a massage, this time it was gary who gave me my services. Gary must be one of the nicest people on the face of the planet who is also extremely talented with his hands. The scrub was invoigorating and wonderful, it woke me up completely and I left feeling super smooth and really relaxed with the massage right after. It was great.
All in all I spa is the best of the best in my opinion. I think that it has a good vibe since you can get away from the mall and your everyday life and go there to escape.
Pros: Super clean, beautiful spa, rooms with windows.
Cons: No Hydrotherapy

super clean. awesome services & amenities .
by jen0219
okay~ so this place is a bit hard to find cuz it's inside a hotel but the hotel itself isn't thank god =) its the BRIGHTest bluest building standing tall on Howard street...had to take the elevator up but no biggie~
the front desk was super friendly...i've read some reviews that says otherwise....but they seemed friendly to me. They greeted me with a smile and walked me around the facility to show me where everything was....the locker room area was SUPER clean. like...you could lick off of the surface clean. everything was new and pretty (think they finished the buliding this year or something) and their LOUNGE area...had comfy couches with like this hot tea area where you can customize your own tea (which i thought was pretty cool).
The facililties are super spacious so you never feel like you are rushed to leave...you can stay for as long as you want (score!!!!)
the facial...was AMAZING they say they're murad exclusive so i was a bit skeptical but it was the BEST facial of my life. the estheticians communicated with me to make sure I get what I WANT not cookie-cutter type facial you know? and then they made sure i understood how to take care of my skin =)
the massage~~~ they make you fill out this questionairre about what you like....and what you want to work on and they CUSTOMIZE the friggin massage oils for you~ which is AMAZING. i got the deep tissue....i kept saying "deeper" ..think i scared the therapist but whatever....
i was so relaxed afterwards i felt like a piece of noodle just *ptttt* on the floor. and I had this coupon from the newspaper that came in handy =)
so look out for those deals~ like i heard they have online deals on yelp and the newspaper and stuff~ so definantely check it out...take a girlfriend with you and chill out at their indoor pool/jacuzzi and detox in the steam room mMmMmmmmmmmmmmm
Pros: clean. friendly staff. nice amenities and perks. coupons
Cons: inside a hotel....but hotel's not hard to find =)

Best Spa in San Francisco
by Bartlally
Excellent Spa!! Best in the City. From the moment you enter the Friendly Staff will make you feel special. I am a frequent spa user and have been to many of the Spas in San Francisco and feel I-Spa is top. The facilites are top notch. By far the best in the city. Especially for a person that is wanting all the convienience of a health club, spa, and pool! Make sure to get there early and grab a good workout in the large state of the art excercise room. All new machines and cardio equipment. The pool is great and a real treat for someone looking to swim in SF. The whirl pool is also outstanding and deserves some of your time. Relax in the steamroom..There is no other place like I-Spa in SF. The massage is also awesome. I have been to I-Spa 4-5 times and always have experienced an excellent massage.
Pros: great facilities, gym, pool, and steam
Cons: small locker/locker area

Not so much!
by edenmonetbrown
I didn't enjoy my experience here. Rude staff! Off-beat location and terrible low-budget products. Save your money for a nice upscale place with experienced staff.

WORST SPA & EXPERIENCE EVER!!!!!!!!!! RUN FAR AWAY FROM THIS PLACE
by oliver120
I recently visited the newly open I-spa and regret every moment spent there. I went there to check out the place for a group bridal spa day and possibly apply for employment. Not only was the FD staff rude but the assistant manager and spa director were cold as ice. Their FAKE smiles went from "Hi" to "Oh you have a question about employment? Sit over there and someone will be right with you." I waited in the lobby for 35 mins. while the FD girl just stood there on her computer not saying anything. I asked if I could use the restroom and she said "Someone will be with you shortly." I ended up walking out. BTW, I didn't have an interview I just was inquiring about employment AND I was scouting for a location for my sister's bridal party. The executive management staff was rude, snobish, and not welcoming...HELLO, ISN'T THIS SUPPOSED TO BE A PLACE OF GOOD VIBES AND POSITIVE HEALTH & WELL BEING? I guess unless your paying them cold hard cash.....they don't give out FREE, FRIENDLY, and NICE ATTITUDES WORST SPA IN THE CITY.....WAKE UP OWNERS LOOK WHO'S REPRESENTING YOUR COMPANY.
Pros: RUDE staff & management, cold & unwelcoming decor, hard to locate, bad/ugly location
Cons: NOTHING!!!!

Great Staff!
by iglam4ever
I have been to numerous spa's and I believe my experience here was top notch. The knowledable staff helped me in choosing a personalized service just for me. I decided to go with the "Travelers Tonic Massage" because it was a combo of all the good stuff IE swedish, deep tissue, and aromatherapy. My arrival was friendly and direct. Much to my liking. After filling out my intake form I was escourted to the ladies locker room and given a brief tour. The shower was amazing. I do admit I was too chicken to try it but I will next time. When I was changing I was greated by a friendly attendant who later made me tea and offered me a warm neck wrap. Deluxe. My massage was just what I was looking for....light in area's; deep in others. When I was on my way out my therapist, Megan, recommended a Jet Lag Salt/Oil combo. I didn't feel pressured to buy it, so I did! I have been using it in the shower together as a scrub. I love multi purpose. All in all I would recommend this to my friends and will be returning. San Francisco is lucky to have this fresh new addition.

Great For Massage
by soundscape
I have gotten several massages and the staff at ISPA has been helpful and professional. They offer a range of massages and the staff seems very knowledgable. Hina has been very helpful and accommodating. I've gotten massages including Swedish mixed with Deep Tissue and Thai massage, as well as Hydrotherapy. Each massage has been excellent and the best ones I have yet experienced. The atmosphere is soothing and the amenities at the spa are nice and well kept up. I highly recommend ISPA if you are looking for a massage in San Francisco.

Massage-O-Rific
by mehersh
Excellent environment. The I-Spa has beautiful floor to ceiling windows, with an unfortunate view of Howard St. Fortunately I spent most of the therapy session face down so I didn't really notice much in the outside world. The staff was warm and welcoming when I arrived for my Deep Tissue Massage. My massage therapist was a polite young woman named Jaime who promptly set to work on my lower back (which has been destroyed by years of business travel). Halfway through the Deep Tissue session Jaime offered to try some acupressure on me when I made mention of headaches. I have no clue what she did but my head hasn't felt this clear in years. After my time was up I truly didn't want to leave. I am definitely coming back for a massage and to check out the Vichy Rain Shower treatments the next time I need to relax and unwind from my business travels.
Pros: Great staff, knowledgable therapist, excellent location
Cons: They wouldn't let me spend the night in the spa

Great Experience, Great Service, Good Times
by jklo
I received a notice that this spa recently opened and I figured I would break away from the norm and try it out. After my time at the I-SPA I feel compelled to write a review. First of all, the hotel is TOP NOTCH. Valle parking attendants were extremely nice and it is free for up to 3-hours. The lobby of the hotel is really nice. Upon getting to the 6th floor I noticed that the spa has a great clean feel and smelled amazing. Locker rooms were nice and the steam room was perfect...lots of steam. The relaxation area was very modern and hip (seperate men's and women's). I still cant get over the TEA. It is the best tea in San Francisco...hands down. My treatment was great. The massage rooms have floor to ceiling windows that look over the city! I was really nice to get the natural light into the room and to date this was one of the best massages I have had. Gary is the Massage Therapist, I would recommend to anyone. So then I was asked if I wanted to relax on the outdoor deck. They have heaters out there and really nice soft seating. I took some tea out there and my wife joined me. She said her facial was great and that they used all the bells and whistles of the skin care machine. She also had a Vichy Rainshower treatment (20-min) that she cant stop talking about. Afterwards we ordered food from the spa menu and had a drink on the deck. I am telling you...really nice experience. This is a gem in the city and we will be going back.
Pros: Facilities, THERAPISTS and treatments, In door pool and gym.
Cons: no full length lockers
