I had stumbled upon Baker's Dozen a few months ago. On an outing, without the kids, I ran back. Their prices are great and their creations are delicious! In addition, they have FREE Wi-Fi!!! My husband will be going there to work on his freelance stuff now!

I was taking a laboriously long time choosing eyeglass frames at the opticians across the parking lot street and my 10 year old son was getting restless waiting for me. I had never been in A Baker's Dozen, but I gave him ten bucks and told him to go pick something out for the family for dessert. A few minutes later he came back with a big bakery box and a huge smile. He explained how the lady helped him pick out all the items. He got a lovely long apple tart and several huge fresh gingerbread men (it was right before Christmas) and a few other goodies. I was grateful that she was so kind to him, gave him samples, and treated him as a regular customer. It definitely made his day. The goodies were delicious and we have since snuck back for scones and cookies. Stop by tonight, you'll be glad you did.

I've been to this bakery a handful of times and each time think, "I need to come here more often!" It has a friendly and down-to-earth vibe about it. I've had their bread pudding, apple strudel, gingerbread cookies, and dinner rolls to name a few. All were quite good. I recommend checking it out for a nice change of pace from the Starbucks/Panera fare. It's located at Celebration at Six Forks (corner of Six Forks & Sawmill) behind Applebee's.

The people are really nice and the muffins are baked every morning. About 6-8 different kinds along with lots of other options for breakfast like pastries, cinnamon rolls and the coffee is good too. Much better than Panera and without the crowd. I could eat there everyday. The location is easy to get in and out of if you turn on Sawmill off Six Forks. Located beside the Eye Care Center.

My sister's birthday is coming up and wanted to get her a delicious and fun, yet affordable sheet cake. I did not want to go with the grocery store cakes. While they are delicious, they don't really offer the type of decorations I was looking for. Searching in CitySearch, I found A Baker's Dozen in Celebration at Six Forks. I called and asked for a price quote and ran some ideas with owner. She suggested I come in so that I could taste the cake and so she could show me a sample of what we discussed. First, let me say that Diane the owner and her baker Kathy are pleasant and accomodating. The scent when you walk in is heavenly and the sample I tasted as well as the many goodies I purchased were fantastic. Please don't think thay you are going to get the same type of creativity as you would with Edible Art, because you aren't. A Baker's Dozen does not use fondant, which is much harder to work with hence the higher prices at Edible Art, however you will get the same quality in the cakes, and it will be half the price. They also cater events, open at 7am to get the rush hour folks, and offer Wireless Internet. I recommend this bakery to anyone looking for some yummy pastries as well as those who want good customer service, and affordable, delicious, and creative cakes. Check them out, I promise you will be pleasantly surprised.

This is a real find as there are no other bakeries in N. Raleigh and it is not easy to locate on the Sawmill side of the Celebration shopping center on Six Forks Rd. Comfortable seating, smells great and the staff is freindly. Many options of crusted breads that are good even days later at home. Too many pastries to chose from but the Pain au chocoloate is incredible. I also saw a sheet cake go out that looked terrific too.
