I am John Rogers, the owner of A Special Moment. Here is my story- yes i was very rude to this mother of the Bride. Why? welll, i contracted directly with the bride 3 months earlier and no contract nor check was recd. No commmunication of any kind. Then, I get a call from the Brides mother about 1 month prior, and she starts off asking me "how do i know you are going to show up at the wedding? How do I know you arent going to run off with my $325? I replied- you dont ask the person in question this kind of question, you call the officiaol folks that handle complaints in Honolulu (cant name them here) and see what their record is. I was totally offended by this inquiry, and I was not pleased with the total lack of communication and no contract and no check for a one hour photo pkg that I was nice enough to give to the Bride on a saturday afternoon in august, which we do not generally do. Take a look at my website and verify that. So after explaining to this mother that We are members of The visitors and convention bureau, Professional photographers of hawaii, and board members of The National Assoc of Catering Executives, and have an outstanding record with the Bureau, she continues to treat me like a convicted felon, so I told her- "we have no contract or payment and were due those things months ago, you are treating me like I am a sleazy con artist, you do not trust me to show up, so I dont want to cover your wedding, and I am not in any way obligated legally to do so, and you have offended me to no end after I gave your daughter a special favor doing this smallest pkg on a saurday afternoon in august (primetime) and you neglected to follow thru as required, so go find another photographer". She filed an official complaint and I offered my version of what happened and she never replied back so they closed the case. Moral is- follow thru with contact, check with bonafide authorities that i cant neme on this forum and dont judge blindly.

John Rogers of A Special Moment tried to rip us off by charging us a lot more than what was specified in our contract, AND he cancelled on us at the last minute, saying he wanted to "book someone else who is asking for a bigger photo package." We were almost stuck with no photographer for our wedding!!!!! We were so lucky we found another photographer who would film our wedding. Brides, I don't want any of you to go through what I went through; stay AWAY from John Rogers!

John Rogers of A Special Moment tried to rip us off by charging us a lot more than what was specified in our contract, AND he cancelled on us at the last minute, saying he wanted to "book someone else who is asking for a bigger photo package." We were almost stuck with no photographer for our wedding!!!!! We were so lucky we found another photographer who would film our wedding. Brides, I don't want any of you to go through what I went through; stay AWAY from John Rogers!

Pros: Through this bad experience we learned a great lesson

Cons: He tried to rip us off, and he cancelled on us at the LAST minute on our WEDDING!!!
