This place supposedly has been here for years. I'm guessing the only reason it's survived is that it has a big sign and is on the water.

We waited almost 2 hours, but subjected ourselves to the wait with the mistaken assumption that "it must be good if everyone's waiting." We couldn't have been more wrong.

The food was poor to fair. Certainly passable, but not impressive, and not worth the price.

The service was poor. The waiter was pleasant, and could answer all our questions about the food, but he vanished for long periods of time. Other tables seemed to have the same problem.

Don't waste your valuable time in Maui here. Drive a little further and find something else.

Pros: Not much

Cons: Poor service, average food

There are a lot of Fish Restaurants on Maui. Most tourists will not eat at the same place twice, so mediocre cooking can be saved by a Great View. This is true of Buzz's Wharf. Three fish of the day were offered; Mahimahin, Ono, and Opakapaka. After ordering Ono with Mac Nuts, at the last minute the server declared that the kitchen was "out" of macnuts and I was served an overcooked fish covered with a caper and somewhat lemony overthick sauce. My husband's panko opakapaka with mango salsa was much better, but I expect more consistancy when the lunch prices approach $30 per dish. My husband would go back anyday for the fried oyster appetizer with tobiko, but my library paste clam chowder did not win me over. Go elsewhere for better cooked fish.
