I went one to Aspen dental and will not be going back.\nYes, their receptionist is nice and friendly, but they have no clue about insurance (or they do it on purpose so they can charge you more). \nISSUE:\nI went in for a clearing and was told I had issues with my teeth needing some special cleaning (even though I was visiting a different dentist on a regular basis , was moving to Aspen dental because of location). I asked how much it would cost and how much would be covered, and everything seem to be in order. \nWhen I went for the ""special"" cleaning the hygienist was horribly - no care in the world about the patient - just about getting the job done... (on a side not, while I was getting my cleaning, I heard them tell another guy the same thing about his teeth, that he needs a special cleaning). After the cleaning was done, the dentist examined my teeth and I was told I have a cavity - even though my last cleaning at a different dentist came through without issue. I once again got an estimate and then later came in for the work. The filling went fine and the dentist was fine.\nNow the BIG Issue; When it was all done, I got a bill for the work and a notification from my insurance company. The bill from Aspen dental was WAY above their estimate. The note from the insurance company said that Aspen dental did not complete the procedure correctly, so it will not be covered (the problem had to do with the number of times Aspen dental should have checked the depth to the gum recess...). I never had any issue like this in the past with other dentist. I will not be going back to Aspen dental - I would rather drive the extra 30 minutes than go back there.

I dont have a lot of experiences to compare this one to, but I have nothing but great things to say about the staff and Dr's at this location. \n\nThe staff is always friendly and remembers my name after only a few visits, The Dr's are very knowledgeable and explain everything before, during and after the procedure. \n\nDental work is expensive, lets face it... but I always feel that the pricing and options here are fair and reasonable.\n\nMy recent appointment for 3 extractions was AWESOME! I was so nervous about my first ""no sleep"" extractions and Rachael (my dental assistant) was great! Put me at ease and assured me I had the best in Dr. Shin. After the procedure, I have to totally AGREE! After explaining everything that was going to happen, and answering all my questions, the procedure began.... and 10 minutes later... it was DONE! 3 extractions in 10 minutes. No pain and very easy going.\n\nHope to have a long, great relationship with the N. Nashua Aspen Dental 0344.

I really dont understand what they're doing at this place. I went in to get an examination and a filling done. the examination took maybe 10 minutes and the filling another 25minutes.. but I was there for an hour and a half, and mind you there was only one other patient.. a child getting a cleaning. when they went to give me the novacain shot I hardly flinched and the doctor said ""listen you cant flinch or im gonna hurt you on accident"" Im like wat??! this woman clearly does not kno what she's saying or doing. it was as if she was trying to discipline me. not only myself but my younger sister who is 14 was squirming just a little bit and she told my mother that ""your daughter cannot sit still therefore I would recommend to put her to sleep"" to get it done. mind you it was also much more expensive to do so. we both previously had Dr. Chow from pediatric dentistry on Maine street and NEVER I mean NEVER had this problem. Insurance was another huge issue, they couldnt give us accurate information regarding our billing information till they talked to the insurance. they didnt call back and when they did.. they said our bill was overdue by 2 months??!! WAT?! our insurance pays 80 percent of the bill and they were telling us we owed almost the entire amount!? These people are clearly not trained and have no idea what they are talking about. They also have no idea about customer service because they would talk back on the phone and not let you finish your sentence. This place needs to go.

My husband and I both tried this Aspen Dental office. First off, it took 4 phone calls for to them relaying my insurance info for them to prepare for our visit. Each time someone called they asked for the same information that the previous person had already called for. Then when we got to our visits, we each had bad things happen. For me, they never went over billing until my second visit when money was due. They also had the wrong information on what my insurance would pay. Then when I went in for two fillings, they were over 40 minutes late getting me in. The dental assistant but numbing gel on my gums so but she put so much in there that it numbed my ability to swallow as well. Then they laid me back and gave me the shots and walked away. Since I could not swallow and I was laying back I started to choke but there was no one around for me to tell. When they did come back they told me to open my mouth and then didn't say another word to me until they were done. They didn't explain what they were doing or ask if I was in any pain. They didn't even give me a signal to use if I needed a break. Once I started to choke again and they just walked away without a word. Horrible! When my husband went in they took hours to figure out the billing and get a payment plan set up. Then when he went in to get the scheduled root cannel done the doctor decided that that wouldn't work and wanted to change the treatment plan on the fly which would mess up all the billing they had already set up. My husband walked out. Then, it took MONTHS to get the money we had already paid in back from them. Later, when we did some price comparisons to other dentist in the area we found that Aspen was much more expensive. Also, they always seem to through in additional charges for items that were not listed in the estimates. For example, special Rx mouth wash.\r\n\r\nWe now go to Tuffs School of Dentistry in Boston and love it.\r\n

Horrible! \nThe staff took forever to take care of me, be it in the office or over the phone. I waited 20 minutes to be seen, then waited another hour or so in the dentists office between seeing the various people you see before the actual dentist. After seeing him I waited an hour to be seen by the account manager to discuss the treatment plan. Everyone seemed over worked and frustrated. \nOver the next few days every time I tried to contact the office via phone to arrange appointments or figure things out I was placed on hold for 5-15 minutes on average per call; up to a half hour sometimes!! They often couldn't even help me because the person who had the file or understood what was going on was helping someone else. So they offered to call back. And EVERY time they made this offer, over 5 times, they did not follow through. \nWhen I called to request my x-rays to be rushed so I could find a new dentist after playing games with them for a week; they were incredibly rude and gave me the run around, again. \nI hope my x-rays are ready tomorrow when I go in. My entire family has now changed dentists, sad they had to lose 4 patients.

People were very understanding and nonjudgmental. The staff made a point to remember my name after my first visit. They helped get me in when no one else had an appointment for months.
