Ok do this is not do bistro or any other 5 star place but the food is great and the ambiance is always great. I live in the area and love stopping in for dinner and a few drinks. The host is friendly and the staff is great !

I live in the neighborhood and thought I would try this restaurant out - it always appeared to be busy. I should have left the minute I walked in the door and my date pointed out that the restaurant smelled strange. Moving past this I asked for a table other than the one they had given to us (place was nearly empty) and the waiter refused to accommodate my request because they had a large party with a reservation at that time --- after 1 hour of dining they still had yet to show. I ordered the Flank Steak and my date had the Mussels. The steak was not edible - Literally had ONE bite and left it on the plate - the waiter never came by to ask if we were enjoying our meal and when he Finally did show up it did not dawn on him that something was wrong with the meal; as it still sat on my plate virtually untouched!!! The bread they served was left on tables in a basket, when I asked the waiter for more bread he grabbed a basket off an empty table and handed it to me....it goes without saying that the bread was STALE!!!Do yourself a favor and skip this restaurant. This is the first bad review I have written ( please note that I dined here March 25th and I am now writing this review - because it still bothers me to this day) and the reason behind it is I do NOT want anyone else to WASTE their hard earned money in this establishment!!

The menu is unique and innovative.
I enjoyed having a variety with each course.
The meal. Worth every penny.
Be ready to drink for they have a wonderful wine menu.
Regardless I am in love.

Mom and I came here on Friday night. Very nice space, ambiance very cool in its own quiet way. The place was good and crowded.

Had the Poulet Cordon Bleu -- nice plate presentation, but not an astonishingly good dish. That said I'm not a huge chicken fan in the first place.

The onion soup was nice, but again, not special.

The dessert was fantastic -- had the apple tart and it impressed. Great conclusion to the meal.

Very reasonably priced. All in all, seems like it would be a very reliable, safe place to bring a date if you're risk averse and not a total food snob

I went to this very outdated mid-town place with my two French friends to check out the food. Everyone spoke French, which I thought was excellent since if I want to eat French food, I want the real experience, not the Americanized version. The second the owner, who was behind the bar getting DRUNK, looked at me and spoke to me in French and I said, I'm sorry I'm American I do not speak French, he turned and left.

He later brought us some appetizers and with a cynical smile, brought out KETCHUP & MUSTARD and said "So you feel more comfortable" to me. I asked him if this dish typically calls for Ketchup and Mustard and he said NO. He discriminated against me because I was American and assumed I did not know how to enjoy food. I was very disappointed that he upheld the negative French stereotypes of SNOBBISH, FULL OF THEMSELVES, UNFRIENDLY, IGNORANT French people. I have many foreign friends and am disgusted by people like this ignorant guy who are so closed minded that they cannot see past the tips of their noses.

It is sad to me because I was born in Argentina to an Italian father. We moved to the US when I was young and therefore I proudly consider myself American. I am well traveled and went to this place to experience traditional French food. SHAME on him for being so discriminating and closed minded. I did not even get to enjoy my food since I was so infuriated and ONLY stayed since we had waited a long time for a table. Besides this, the hanger steak with shallots was EXTREMELY fatty and served with tasteless mashed potatoes and the side order of Fries were undercooked. Overall besides racism, fatty meet, tasteless food and undercooked fries, this place HAS NOTHING TO OFFER.

This "authentic" french restaurant is probably good to home-sick people and tourists around Times Square. The only worthy item on the menu is the Frog leg entry.
Although they have nice people working here, the food is good but overpriced for its quality, apetizers not wonderful, and you can definitely skip the desert here.
The 1st room is very noisy and the back... well the back looks like it has been set up to accomodate more people in a hassle.

There are other places here in New York that do good food + good service at a decent price, this one is definitely not on the list.

Worst service ever! Our party had an early pre-theater reservation and informed the staff of our 8pm show. Even this wasn't enough to get us our food before we had to rush out to the theater. It took almost an hour for our appetizers to arrive! The manager and waitress apologized every 20 minutes but were absolutely no help. I was looking forward to the authentic French atmosphere and food but I suppose I'll have to find it elsewhere. Tip: If you do order the pre-theater menu, ask for dessert to be brought out first. You certainly won't get to it otherwise.

This place is a true Midtown gem - authentically French, cramped full of indulging diners, amazing food, unbelievable portions and insanely reasonable prices ... get the mussels as an appetizer and try to save room for dessert. Tout va bien, indeed!

My friend and I went to this cozy bistro after the theater. We were early (5pm) so we were the first there. The escargot was deliciously garlickly. The steak poive was perfect. The ENORMOUS crepe tvb was almost too much for two. The value was excellent. The total with one glass of wine, two appetizers, a large bottle of water, and the desert was about $110 with tip. We were not rushed at all.

We loved the food and the price was very affordable as we opted for the prix fixe menu. More importantly, the service was attentive and very warm. The wait staff had good recommendations and when i broke a wine glass, they reacted in a way to put me out of my embarrassment quickly and even filled me a new glass of wine. Finally, as a sweet ending to the night, the server offered us a free glass of dessert wine on the house. How nice!

This is a great restaurant to hit up before you head to the theater. The food is great and the ambiance is very french. The value was great too as my girlfriend and I had the Prixe Fixe menu. She ordered the mussels and I think they must have brough "5 pounds of them. They had to bring a second garbage bowl for her shells. The fries are great too.

If you are in the mood for fabulous non-fussy french food this is the place to go. From Appetizer to Dessert, you can't really go wrong with this place and if you can coax your server to make up a batch of their sangria, you won't regret it. The boisterous and crowded atmosphere (especially pre-theatre) does not make it ideal for dates, but it is a great place for large groups of friends.
