Best Italian restaurant in NYC. The same great food has been served here on the upper east side since the 1940's. Fabulous food like your little Italian Mama use to make! Wonderful family owned restaurant with great decor. The big red walls are covered with life size zebras. The waiters still wear the white jackets with black bow ties. You can even spot a few "stars", from time to time, relaxing and enjoying the old world cuisine.

As a frequent patron of this old time italian restaurant where i had grown to love their zabiglone and spaghetti bolognese, I've become a dissident as of late and will never go back. their service is atrocious and reminiscent of old men

Pros: one good dessert

Cons: service, prices, ambience..

Overpriced, average food. Place tries to be something it is not. You can get the same quality food at your local pizza place.

The zebras are the most memorable thing about this place, there's no doubt. Then again, they're so very striking that that implies nothing bad about the food, which is a very serviceable Italian. Not unduly fancy, this is a place where you
