Wow. I was warned about this place, but out of desperation tonight for a hostess gift for a party (my usual, lovely wine store - Columbus Wines and Spirits - was already closed) I went to this place. I just can't get over how rude and condescending the two people (especially the man) behind the counter were. Strangely. . .the chilled bottles of wine are in a tiny cooler behind the counter, so of course you are not allowed to see them or their prices, so when I asked about them, the owner got very huffy and only pointed out the most expensive ones, rolling his eyes when I asked for something in a more affordable price-range. The woman with him glared at me and my husband the entire time, then the man proceeded to correct me when I made a verabl "mistake" about champagne - I felt like I was back in first grade. I should have known when there was no one else in the store - to not go in. Please, Upper West Siders, visit another wine store like Columbus Wines and Spirits (Columbus and 96th) or Vintage (Broadway). Sheesh.
