bought a Jim Hjelm gown from a retailer who had been in business for over 40 years, Kleinfelds. We paid thousands of dollars for a "designer" dress as well as an alteration fee for their tailoring expertise. We expected first quality designer item and ended up with a dress whose zipper broke 30 seconds after putting on the dress.
I had my last fitting where the seamstress had a hard time zippering the dress. I asked her if there was an issue with the zipper and she said no - assuring us that every thing is perfect and that since the dress is altered to be fitted to the body it was just hard for her to maneuver the zipper since it was a small piece.
We picked up the dress which was stuffed with tissue paper and that's how it was transported for the wedding ceremony. The dress was not touched until the time it was put on to where my nightmare watching the zipper come apart began. An hour late to the church and $300 later, I was sewed into my dress by a local cleaners, but cleary could see the uneveness and damage, not to mention the embarassment of showing up an hour late to the church!
We paid for alterations at Kleinfelds and expected 1st quality alterations by experienced staff - they were the experts on whom we relied and to whom we paid for their services. I as a consumer expected the dress to be first quality and usable for the occasion for which it was bought. I did not expect trauma on a day which should have been care free and to hassle in locating a tailor to come and sew me into my dress.
Kleinfelds offered to pick up the dress, reimburse us for the tailor and to preserve it for me. FOR WHAT?? I need it on my wedding day, not after!! That is not acceptable. We did not get the 1st quality product we paid for and this was a one time only dress, what will I do with it now??!?
I am shocked at their lack of response and attitude towards this and the ruining of a day which should have been perfect. I contacted them and it takes them days if not weeks to call me back. I leave messages, nothing.
I am now going through my credit card for a full refund. This place is a joke....they only care about their show and the "stars" that work there now....if you want true customer service you are better off with a smaller retailer that will provide you with true customer service and not the run around.
I am never one to write reviews, however based on my experience, I couldn't resist. First, let me start off by saying that I was not planning on going to Kleinfelds..at all! I wanted to get my dress locally in NJ. I always pictured Kleinfeld's to be a pushy, stuck up type of place that was only known because of their popular show (I've never seen the show). However, my mother really wanted me to "go for the experience". I was not planning on purchasing a dress (I already had a small deposit on another dress). WELL, my family and I had such an amazing experience at Kleinfeld's that I purchased my dress! My sales consultant was Rosaria and she was AMAZING! I explained to her what style dress I like and she knew exactly which dress I wanted. My advise for future brides: Go to other salons before Kleinfelds so that you know exactly what you want and so you don't feel pushy. No matter what, definately try to get to Kleinfelds. It's affordable and worth the time. They are VERY professional, the quality of the dresses are uncomparable, and they really care about you and making sure you feel like a princess ;)
their show should be called say yes to the commission and not the dress. they are more concerned about getting u in and out and making that sale then the bride. and god forbid u ask if they can hold the dress for a few hours so u can think on it coz when u come back the dress may have been sold to another bride.its true they said they would hold my friends dress over night (mind u it was the only one left) and when she called 4 hours before her cut off time, they told opps we sold it. and they tried to sell her on a dress way out of her price range. stick to the small boutiques, they really know how to treat ya, and in the end that where she found her dress.
This place is amazing. When you look at the gowns, they are arranged by styles and the room seems like the size of a football field. The saleswoman are very knowledgeable and the place is lovely. There is a nice area for father's to wait. They have all the accessories from shoes, to undergarments to tiaras.
Over 200 famous brands,over 80000 products,incredible price,free shipping.If you are looking for footwear,clothing,bags&handbags,jersy and accessories,think about it.welcome to 365buyonline
I went to Kleinfeld's armed with around 10 pictures of bridal dresses that I like, which is what their website tells you to do. My saleswoman barely looked at any of the pictures and brought me gowns that weren't in the style of what i wanted. My friend that was with me kept pointing to the pictures I had brought, and kept saying, do you have anything like this? These are what she liked. The saleswoman kept saying, oh we don't have anything like that.
How is that possible? This place has a huge gown selection, hundreds of styles, yet they don't have fitted A-line gowns? Hard to believe. She kept saying, 'you're young, you want something fun'....fun, maybe, but she seemed to have one image of what young brides want, and that was not me. I would say the whole Kleinfeld's experience depends upon the saleswoman, and if they are really listening to what you want or not.
Pros: large selection
Cons: depends on saleswoman that you get
I was greeted by a rude front desk receptionist followed by a sour-pussed "specialist". Then the smallest and hottest dressing room I have ever seen. She ended up pulling exactly opposite of what I was looking for. They make you feel like they are doing you a favor by spending your $1000s there.
In the end I bought my dress at a smaller boutique where I was given superior service.
Cons: Rude, unfriendly, stuck-up
I went to Kleinfelds after having a bad experience at a bridal salon in CT, I found an amazing dress but they didn't tell me till after I was in love with it that it was twice my budget. I had seen the show, say yes to the dress, and figured that if anyone could help me it would be Keasha and let me say she was as amazing as she was on the show and even more. She listened to exactly what I envisioned myself looking like and to my budget and though she let me try on about ten dresses, I fell in love with the first one she showed me and couldn't get it out of my head the whole appointment. She didn't rush me, and she was so fun to work with. She has the ability to listen to your ideas and somehow find the dress thats perfect for you, even if you doubt it when you see it on the hanger. I walked in very intimidated by the reputation of the salon and immediately felt like family. They even got the designer to lower the price for me, and so many people came to compliment me and to introduce themselves, even the owner who gave me her home number in case I had any questions or problems. They are so professional and yet make you feel so comfortable at the same time. I would definitely recommend Keasha to anyone I met and Kleinfeld's overall. I left that day in happy tears feeling ready to be a bride. They go above and beyond what is expected of them and they deserve the reputation they have.
Pros: individual & personalized service
please anyone who is looking to work for kleinfelds RUN RUN RUN
I came to Kleinfeld with my friend (for whom I am a bridesmaid) and we had an AWFUL experience. Our consultant kept disappearing, we had to pull our own dresses because we had no idea where the woman went, her superiors interrupted our appointment twice but didn't apologize, they were late taking us and then tried to kick us out early. I could go on and on about all the things they did wrong. My friend loved a dress she found there, but ended up buying it at a different store because she didn't want to give them her business.
It wasn't worth the frustration and I would not recommend anyone to go there.
Pros: fun to see this famous store
Cons: rude employees, poor service, unprofessional
From the beginning, the consultant did not hear what I was telling her about my wedding day. She heard me say "fitted" and immediately put me in lots of mermaid and trumpet style dresses. When I expressed my discomfort with the fit and how it hit my hips, she just told me that I needed to get over what I think is a flaw.
I tried on about 15 dresses but only showed my friends who were there with me 2 dresses! After an hour I was exhausted and wanted to leave. The consultant also forgot to get me a robe so while she was pulling all these dresses, I was left sitting there in the room, by myself, in my underwear!
Go to Wedding Atlier for an AMAZING experience with consultants who really take pride in their work - and don't rely on the commercial "Say Yes to the Dress" fame.
I found my dress the same day. The service is great and the person i worked with was amazing.
Enjoy the experience.
Pros: Great Service
Cons: not enough time
I must say that when I made my appointment with Kleinfeld's I was expecting world class service and expertise..boy was I wrong!! The saleslady that helped me was rude from the very beginning. I specifically told her what I was interested in and she would bring the complete opposite. What really put me over the edge was when she insulted my maid of honor!! She was extremely unprofessional and I was very dissappointed with the way that we were treated. They have completely lost my business and advise brides to not waste their time with this store!!!
Cons: Rude saleslady, Mediocre Service,Very Unprofessional
I really should have listened to the other negative reviews that I had read previously. I had the WORST experience here from the moment I walked through their doors. They are rude and didn't seem to want to help me find a dress, but only to pressure me to buy one when i did. The rooms were sweltering hot and after being cursed at by one of the saleswomen, I left immediately.
I ended up finding my gown at RK Bridal and had a fabulous experience. I even got my dress for a much better price!
Pros: nothing is good about this place
Cons: horrible service, mean sales ladies, pushy and pressured
No dress 2-1/2 weeks before the event? Check the contract, Bub. We don't guarantee delivery dates. Also note that your deposit is non-refundable. Have a nice day!
Pros: Bride-to-Be's Are Treated Like Queens
Cons: But if anything goes wrong, it won't be their fault
Kleinfelds is the best! I had a disastrous experience at a local bridal shop with my first dress and decided to go to the experts 4 weeks before my wedding. The staff is very professional, knowledgable and experienced. I had complete confidence in their team and was able to put my worries and stress at ease. They found me the dress of my dreams, had it shipped from Europe and altered to fit me perfectly all within 2 weeks and 2 trips to NYC. I highly recommend them to anyone. Don't risk going to any other bridal salon.
As soon as you walk into the door of this fairytale place your eyes wonder over a sea of white elegant fabrics, you begin to realize your dreams are about to come true! It all begins with your own personal consultant who makes you feel better than gold and confident that they will match you to the dress of your dreams. On the day I had my appointment the designer I love ( RS Couture) was there, I think my heart stopped when he helped me pick out my dress and fitted me for it!!! He and the staff posed for numerous pictures with my entire family and the dress of my dreams. It is a day I will remember for the rest of my life.
Pros: Best Bridal Selection
Cons: Going on Saturdays are a little crowded
Keysha made my experience a breeze. I was a nervous wreck, as I had no idea what I was looking for. She was not phazed in the least and was determined to help me find the perfect dress in 90 minutes - which I did. She was brutally honest and by the end of the visit I was feeling much more relaxed to the point that I was shopping with a friend. I ended up with a gorgeous gown, something I would have never pictured if it were not for Keysha. Tremendous patience and fashion insight. Thanks so much.
All of the staff there were great, you feel like the only one there even though you are not. There are so many choices but they make it feel not so overwhelming.
Danielle from CT
Pros: Great salesperson! Keysha is a must have!
Cons: Pressed for time!
Before visiting Kleinfeld for the first time, I went to 3 other stores trying on bridal dresses. My first visit to Kleinfeld was memorable. I took my mom, sister and 2 cousins with me to get their input on the dresses I tried on. Upon arrival, everyone there was super friendly. And we didn't have to wait long until my consultant, Rita, called us in. So began my Kleinfeld experience.
I must have tried on about 10 dresses while there. There were a couple I liked, but weren't "the one". I struggled with this concept because I felt like so many dresses had a few things I liked, but nothing really had everything I wanted. Unfortunately, I wasn't able to find the dress while there, though Rita was super, super nice and not pushy at all. We also noticed the owners, Mara and Ronnie, there and I made a mental note that it's nice to see the owners of the store there. It makes it feel more personable.
For another month, I visited more stores throughout the area, making my bridal store visit totaling 11 stores, including Kleinfeld. Figuring I try on about 8 dresses per store...that's a LOT of dresses! I was starting to get discouraged and frustrated. Then I got an e-mail from Kleinfeld informing me of a Henry Roth / Michelle Roth trunk show. I looked at the designer's website and loved their designs so I made a second appointment to view the collection.
Back for our second visit, Rita recognized us immediately and greeted us warmly. We wasted no time and I told Rita I was there to view the Michelle and Henry Roth collection. So we wasted no time and pulled dresses and I was trying them on in a matter of minutes. I tried on about 4 dresses before putting on "the one" dress...I think I knew it was the one when Rita made all the necessary dress pulling and adjustments and it took my breath away. Michelle Roth, the designer, was there also and between her and Rita, provided me with all the accessories to show how the look would be completed. I definitely knew it was "the one" when I kept walking around in it and never wanted to take it off.
Needless to say, I bought the dress and can't wait til it comes in!
Lastly, Mara and Ronnie were again present at the store while we were there. I just thought it was really nice to know that the owners of the store are so into their business and dedicated to making their presence known in the Kleinfeld name. I really did feel like family there!
Thanks Kleinfeld for helping me find the dress!!!
Pros: Not pushy, prices reasonable
Cons: Alterations pricey
I was anxious and terrified on the morning of my appointment at Kleinfeld's. I had waited 2 weeks for the appointment with my mother and sister. Wouldn't you know there was a terrible snow storm the day of the appointment. I had to go alone. I even considered having my fiancee come and wait in the lobby.
To my most pleasant surprise, Nancy Shishik was my sales person. From the moment she started working with me, not only was she absolutely in tune with what I was looking for, she was beyond comforting.
It turned out that there was an issue with the dress I loved. There was only 1 sample that was not going to be available for me to try on for my mom when she could come in. But that didn't stop the team at Kleinfeld's. Nancy and Randy Fenoli went completely beyond the call of duty to get this dress back for me to try on again. I can not express how pleased and how shocked I was that they took every necessary step to make me happy. 110% customer satisfaction was the only option. We all know how rare that is to find any where today.
Please don't pay attention to any stereotype you may hear. Nancy and this team are beyond amazing.
Pros: selection, staff, everything
My daughter, Erin, found the wedding gown of her dreams with the help of Keasha Rigsby. Keasha led Erin and I through Kleinfeld's myriad of gowns with expertise and patience. It was due to her efforts and that of Randy Fenoli, who provided the finishing touches to an already magnificent gown, that Erin found exactly what she was looking for. Keasha Rigsby is truly a professional. Kleinfeld is most fortunate to have her in their employ.
Pros: Lovely gowns and great attention
March 12,2009 I was so excited to try bridal gowns on at Kleinfeld. When i got there my consultant Keysha was so friendly and was determined to find the dress of my dreams. As we were picking out gowns i wasn't finding the dress of my dreams. I had brought in a picture of my dream dress and we were searching everywhere for it. I was starting to feel frustrated cause the dress i had chosen was alittle bit of an older gown and no where to be found. 15 minutes later Keysha had searched everywhere in the store and finally came in with the dress i had been looking for. I was so excited and couldn't thank her enough. She definitly is dedicated to her job and made my dream of having the perfect wedding dress come true. She is AWESOME!! Also Liz and Joan Roberts were a big help to. Liz helped me find the perfect veil and acessories and was so friendly and sweet . Joan was so awesome and made sure i had everything i needed. All of them congraulated me and wished me the best of luck. This was definitly the best bridal experience ever. What a fabulous group of girls to be around. I did say YES TO THE DRESS!!!! Thank you
Pros: Awesome Bridal Store with Fabulous Consultants
When one thinks fashion forward Kleinfeld does not come to mind. Ha
Nancy is miracle worker and if she's not the most genuine salesperson in bridal then she's an Oscar worthy actress.
Mr. Rothstein needs to put her on the show.
Pros: Example: best croissants in town
Cons: What are the drawbacks?
i bought my dress at Klienfeld and I was helped by a Hispanic women named Blanca. She treated me like her own daughter. She was very warm and helpful and even though I was very overwhelmed and tried on about 10 dresses that had a corset in the back, she had so much patience and didn't even rush me at all. She is a great member of your team and I hope she gets recognition for it. I would highly recommend anyone looking for their perfect dream dress to be helped by her. she was amazing
Pros: great dresses
Today I had gone to Kleinfelds hoping to find a dress at their Sample Sale. I had Renee as my sales associate and she was amazing. I couldn't find any dresses that I loved in the sales section but my sister came across a dress that was full price. I tried on several dresses that I did not love until I tried on the dress my sister picked out. It was beautiful and I fell in love with it. Renee was very honest with me and she treated me as if I was her daughter, giving me honest advice. Thank you Renee!
Pros: Great sales help!
Although I've never reviewed a place of business online, I feel compelled to write and say what a wonderful experience I had at Kleinfeld Bridal. I can't say enough what a positive experience it was! The store is beautiful and the women who assisted me were professional, down to earth, attentive and fun to spend time with. *Nancy Shishik was my consultant and did an excellent job helping me select a dress. The personal attention I was given went above and beyond - at one point I was surrounded by at least six women helping me! Thank you so much to everyone who made my day so special.
Excellent Service. Excellent selections to choose from. Let me start by saying the receptionist was very pleasant, even though I was 7 minutes late for my appointment. She told me to have a seat in the waiting area. In less than 2 minutes my consultant was me. She was great, she didn't seem upset that we where starting later than scheduled and that made me relax. I was very nervous and then I was nervous because I was late. But like I said she was great, she asked me a lot of important questions (price point, time of day the wedding would take place, when and where) things of that nature. She listen to me, brought out samples of what I was interested in, as well as what in her expert opinion would look good on me (that I liked and appreciated). I also liked that she spoke Spanish that made my mother feel very comfortable. Thank you Blanca. At no point did anyone rushed me, even though I went over my scheduled time. Nor did I feel pressured to buy a dress, although I did purchase my gown that day. From the receptionist to the billing department everyone was great. A nice and sweet touch was the "Thank You" letter I received from the owners Ronnie and Mara, as well as the email you receive the following day. I highly recommend Kleinfeld to any bride.
I love Kleinfeld. My experience there was truly amazing. My consultant was Nancy, who has an incredible eye for detail and and a knack for putting things together just right. I went in convinced I would buy one dress but she found something that was even better and actually much more me. She found the most beautiful dress that is truly unique, the perfect veil and headpiece that brought it all together. At no point did I feel at all pressured. In fact, I was very impressed by the willingness of everyone from my consultant to the designer, Michelle Roth, to the the store manager to work with me on every aspect of the experience. Everyone I worked with made me feel so beautiful and special. I consider myself fortunate to have been able to buy my dress here. I definitely do not have a $10,00 budget but if you are trying to find something under $1000 this is probably not the place for you. The service is just outstanding and it was a day my mother and I will remember forever. Thank you again to everyone at Kleinfeld for making my experience so wonderful.
Pros: Personal, attentive service, great selection, beautiful store.
Cons: Only being able to buy one dress ;p!
My daughter and I had the pleasure of visiting Kleinfeld Bridal last week. I had come in from Fort Lauderdale to help her look for her wedding gown. The afternoon was wonderful! Her consultant, Jacqueline, was warm, welcoming and extremely knowledgeable. She quickly recognized my daughter's style and personality. The selection of gowns was extensive, and beautifully displayed. The personal, genuine attention my daughter received was far above anything we had imagined. There was a real feeling of excitement as she tried on the gowns. All the staff participated in helping to select appropriate headpieces, and honest opinions and suggestions were given. There was no feeling of urgency, of needing to make a choice quickly and finish the appointment. Jacqueline's professional, yet caring demeanor and her ability to offer suggestions but let my daughter make her own decisions, made the recognition and ultimate selection of "the dress" a joy. Everyone was extremely friendly and obviously enjoyed participating in the process. I would recommend Kleinfeld to anyone who is starting the wonderful task of selecting a wedding dress.
Pros: atmosphere, selection of gowns, professional, caring staff
I recently got married in November 2008 and bought my gown from Kleinfeld! It was the first and last place we went. The store is beautiful and our saleswoman, Rita, was helpful but not pushy. I tried on about 10 gowns and as soon as I put on "the one" I knew I had to have it. Being the kind of girl who never makes a rash decision, I slept on it (it was over my budget, of course) and called Rita the next morning and ordered the dress. They were even able to work with me on the price just a bit since another salon was offering it for a bit less.
From there everything went smoothly - the dress arrived on time, fitting appointments were convenient. My seamstress, Josephine, was great. And the dress was perfectly packaged when I picked it up!
Overall I give Kleinfeld an A+ and will definitely refer friends and family!
Pros: Great selection, beautiful salon, smooth process
Cons: Nothing major worth noting
experience at kleinfeld's was more than i imagined it. i have to agree with another reviewer and rave about keasha. she was fantastic, not overbearing, and got me more excited about the whole experience than i already was! i have to admit i am unhealthily addicted to tlc, and the experience does vary slightly from the show, but in a good way. there is way less drama in the store than is portrayed, but i guess not too many would watch a show without any. i started out so nervous i was actually shaking in the waiting room-i had a tiny tiny budget and the appts. were limited to 1 hour due to a sample sale. this was my first and only experience wedding dress shopping and i am sure a lot of places would make you feel like a special bride, but this place felt magical to me. they let me stay over time, to make a decision(which i'm sure the managers didn't love, but it only took a few extra minutes to be certain about buying.) i do work in sales, so i understand not everyone wants to wait on someone with a small budget, but they made me feel like i was a high roller. to those complaining about being asked about the budget early on, that is the most important issue to discuss, and they are merely trying to prevent you falling in love with a gown you cannot buy, and might possibly get upset over! also, why should they waste their time fitting you in gown that is not a possibility!! and if they were being snotty, it may be due to a poor consultant, or it may be due to the fact that you were wasting their time-which i guess you have every right to do, but they work hard and deserve to be treated respectfully too. again, i cannot say enough about this place... just go in with realistic expectations-if you are on a budget, don't try on dresses you can't afford and you will get an experience of a lifetime!!!
Pros: service, selection, atmosphere
Cons: seeing beautiful gowns way out of budget!-not their fault though
What an incredible experience! Besides the store being absolutely magnificent with high ceilings, beautfiul stark white walls and lights to make you feel like your in a studio - the dresses are like you've never seen anywhere else. From simple but elegant to unique and breath-taking, theres something for everyone in every budget. And if you happen to be a bride who is looking for something that you wont see any other bride wearing, I suggest Pnina Tornai. Her dresses are insanely gorgeous!
You honestly cant go wrong at Kleinfelds. The staff is incredibly friendly, accomodating and reassuring. The owners are on the floor walking around and make you feel at home. It's not your typical Bridal Salon thank god, its every womens dream: beautiful gowns, friendly staff and involved owners. I highly recommend! Ask for Barbara she was awesome!
Pros: Friendly staff, owners walking the floors, Barbara - awesome!
I never write reviews for ANYTHING, but had to after visiting Kleinfelds!
I was really nervous after reading some of these reviews...I am on a budget and wanted to buy a dress on the cheaper side (not really cheap - but on the lower end of their range. If you've been to their website, think the dresses with the one $ sign!). I feel like people that had a bad experience here were probably just with a bad consultant. You NEED TO request Keasha. She was amazing. Beyond amazing. I can't tell you how comfortable she made me feel, how funny, sweet, and enegeretic she was. I brought in a few pictures of what I was looking for and she brought out a bunch of dresses that I really liked. I ended up finding the perfect dress, which I bought that day. At one point when I was trying on dresses, she actually told me I looked better in the less expensive gown! And when she looked at the tag for one of the dresses she had brought in the room, she saw that it was on the higher end of my price range and she told me to not even bother trying it on since I already found one that I was leaning towards. She wasn't pushy at all. You would think that since she works on commission, she would be pushing to make a more expensive sale, but she really was looking for the dress that made me look the best. I feel so lucky that she was my consultant and I would recommend her to anyone! Don't feel like you need to spend an arm and a leg here. You can definitely find something beautiful if you're willing to spend their minimum of $1,500 on a dress. And with Keasha, you will have fun doing it!
Pros: Keasha is amazing!
I visited Kleinfeld with my mother this Saturday (10/4). From the moment we arrived, our time at Kleinfeld was absolutely amazing. Rosaria was my sales consultant, but at least a dozen other sales consultants stopped by my room to view the dresses and to offer compliments (including the receptionists who met us when we first arrived). Rosaria and the rest of the team not only selected dresses that were beautiful, but they recognized my unique style and they fitted me in dresses that were beautiful, glamorous, appropriate for my body, and they were also very conscious of my budget.
I just want to say that anyone who has had a bad experience here must not be happy in life. This bridal salon is everything and anything I could hope to experience as a bride to be. I have looked forward to this day since I can remember and Kleinfeld has made my dream come to live. Their reality show "say yes to the dress" is great for TV, but in person it's a whole different experience. I LOVED my consultant Debbie! and when it came to my fittings I felt like I was in my home away from home. Make sure you ask to speak to Amy... or Nicole...this duo is your best friend, your family and the honest people you hope to have during this process. Amy told me to call her or e-mail her with anything I needed even if it wasn't related to my dress. ..and I have! I told her I wish I could get married again and again...she told me that was fine by her...just hopefully to the same guy :)
Pros: selection, people, the beautiful store
Cons: if i have to say something it would be parking...
I was hesitant to shop at Kleinfelds as I heard it could be overwhelming, but it was an overall excellent experience. Audrey, my consultant, was incredibly helpful. She listened to both my price range and style, and she did not try to up-sell in anyway. I ended up ordering my dress from Kleinfeld later that day (after another appointment as another NYC shop). I can't say enough about Kleinefleds and the wonderful service.
Pros: attention to customer and selection
Cons: 1.5 hour consultation limit (although I didn't need the entire time, anyhow).
I took my daughter to Kleinfelds after visiting 2 other bridal shops. The first shop tried to push her into buying every gown she tried on. The gowns there looked cheap and worn. The 2nd shop had prettier gowns, but an indifferent sales staff. At Kleinfelds the difference was amazing. We were treated with friendliness, respect and were not pressured to buy anything. Our saleslady brought out the gowns my daughter had requested to see, as well as others she thought she would like and if the gown wasn't flattering, she was honest and said so. The selection, quality and beauty of the gowns at Kleinfelds was so much better than those we'd seen elsewhere, there was no comparison. Yes, they were more expensive, quality usually is and as with everything, you get what you pay for. Now I understand what people mean when they talk about the "kleinfeld experience" If you are looking for a $500 gown, you won't find it at Kleinfelds. However, there are gowns to fit most budgets and our saleslady kept to our price range. I did not think the gown we purchased was overpriced for the quality of the dress. I don't understand how people can say the staff was rude, or the service poor. Everything about our experience was first rate, why would anyone go anywhere else for a wedding gown? If you can't find it at Kleinfelds, you can't find it anywhere!
Pros: Great selection, friendly helpful staff, quality product
I went in and was overwhelmed by how many beautiful dresses they have. Of course I was looking for that one special dress that was meant for me. And I'm happy to say that I found it here. It was a bit pricey but you want your day to be perfect :) My only other problem was that I didn't know I needed an appointment so I had to go twice. Gladly it was worth the second trip.
I hope every other girl is as lucky to find their perfect dress too. Just be ready to dish out some cash. Perfection isn't cheap :)
Pros: Beautiful selection
Cons: pricey and appointments needed
I'm very surprised by the negative reviews of Kleinfelds.
I purchased my dress there this Saturday and had a wonderful experience.
My salesperson was BLANCA. She was EXCELLENT. First, she wasn't pushy at all. I had visited her at the store at least 3 times before I bought my dress on Saturday. She didn't pressure me on any one of those visits. Second, once I described the look I was interested in for my wedding day, every dress that she brought me to try on was spot-on. She understood my tastes within 15 minutes of meeting me.
After initially going to Kleinfelds, I went to several other bridal shops. On Saturday when I bought my dress, Kleinfelds honored the discount that the designer's store (Priscilla of Boston) was willing to offer on the dress. I was thrilled because most bridal salons' alteration fees aren't capped and I knew that my bustle was going to be complicated, so the flat fee was worth it.
I think that you can definitely have a positive experience at Kleinfelds if (i) you get a great salesperson--I HIGHLY RECOMMEND BLANCA; (ii) you have a definite sense of the type of gown that you are looking for and (iii) you do your homework on the price of your specific dress before you buy--they seemed very open to negotiating a price since it was clear that I had researched the price of the dress at several other salons and I was ready to buy once I started the negotiation process.
Best of luck to all the future brides shopping!
Pros: Great selection, open to negotiating on price
Cons: It does have the "factory"-like vibe, especially on the weekends.
Today I bought my wedding dress from Kleinfeld's and had a terrific experience. My consultant was Keasha and her great energy and personality made the experience extra exciting and so personal. I did not buy the first dress that I tried on (like many people told me I would). The process took longer than I expected and Keasha was extremely patient the entire time. I would definitely recommend that if you go to Kleinfeld's request Keasha as your consultant!
Pros: Wonderful consultant who did not push expensive dresses
I traveled to New York from Texas to find the wedding dress of my dreams. My brother gave me free plane tickets and my mom, sister and I were on our way. In Houston we had visited many bridal shops and once we arrived in New York we went to another handful before arriving at Kleinfelds. I walked in hoping this would be my last stop. By this time I had envisioned the dress I wanted I just couldn't find it! At first it seemed that Kleinfelds did not have the dress I was looking for but I found a gorgogeous dress I just wanted some things added. My sales assitant, Judith, then went to get the Director of Sales to see if she knew of a dress that I was describing. They were in no way pushing me towards buying a dress that I didn't want rather the dress I really liked they said they could change it to the way I wanted it. We went through tons of different embellishments and I cannot wait to see the final product. The whole staff was very helpful and not pushy. When I was paying the deposit for the dress I saw the owner and Judith told him I would like to meet him. He came right over and gave me his cell phone number and told me I could call him day or night with any questions and to go straight through him regarding scheduling my alterations. He even said he might fly my dress down to Texas when he visits family members! He and his staff made my day and I am looking forward to flying back to New York to pick up my dress. ( I really loved the city and want to go back) I would recommend this store to anyone and everyone and wish you luck in finding your dress. The service is excellent from owner on down.
I showed up at Kleinfeld today without an appointment, not realizing my mistake but they managed to fit me in and I only waited for 10 minutes. They were so nice about it. I The first dress I tried on was THE dress. My sister-in-law-to-be was there with me and she, the wedding gown consultant, and I all knew it immediately. The dress was designed by Judd Waddell who happened to be having a trunk show there that weekend so I got to meet him! He told me I looked beautiful and later gave me a sketch he did of me in the dress with his signature and my name on it. I almost cried. My wedding gown consultant, Muriah, was wonderful. She was so helpful and was just a wonderful person. She was genuinely nice and listened to everything I had to say. So so professional yet also very warm and kind. She did not push for anything and actually encouraged me to stay in my budget. I saw this dress that was $4600 and my budget was $3000. I wanted to try it on but she told me I should stay closer to $3000 so that I don't end up only liking that dress and totally killing my budget. What sales consultant actually cares about your wallet?!?! I love this woman! I felt so comfortable shopping at Kleinfeld. The appointments are about an hour long with your own personal consultant so you get quality one-on-one attention. The place is beautiful and I was just totally taken away by the service. The quality of their dresses and employees are top-notch. I cannot recommend Kleinfeld more. The prices for wedding gowns are $1000+. You get a 12.5% discount if you buy at the trunk show. It's totally worth going for a designer you like. I read reviews of people from out of state who flew in. They are not crazy! I live in NJ, so it's not a big deal for me but I completely understand why people do that. The service is unbelievable. Please visit Kleinfeld if you are looking for a wedding gown. (They have other attire but I was there just for the wedding gowns). It is truly a magical experience.
Pros: World-class quality and service of consultants, dresses, designers, atmosphere and value
Cons: Absolutely nothing.
I'm the mother of the Bride. We were not sure what to expect. We had a great experience!! It was a sample sale so we anticipated that it would be crazy. It wasn't. They were organized and helpful. Our Bridal Consultant Debbie was the best!! She picked out the prefect dress for my daughter. She was so good that the first dress was the one. Althought my daughter tried on 12 more. The first one was the one we purchased. They did not pressure us or rush us in any way. Debbie was sincere and had alot of patience.
Good luck to all you Brides.
Pros: great prices
Cons: parking, use a parking lot
I flew in from Chicago just to go to the Kleinfeld's Blowout Sample Sale yesterday. I had heard rave reviews about the sale but did not expect the wonderful experience I had in my WILDEST dreams!! Unlike other sample sales, which are madhouses, each bride was assigned a CONSULTANT! Unheard of at a sample sale!! My consultant was Erika & she was the sweetest, most helpful consultant I have ever had!! I told her exactly what I was looking for & she FOUND it!!! As if It couldnt get any better than finding the dress of my dreams, the owner, Ronnie Rothstein, personally greeted me and gave me advice as I tried on my dresses!! And I mean HONEST advice--he REALLY and truly cared about the way I would look on my big day!! What owner takes the time to do that?? He even gave me advice as to what my FIANCE should wear in order to compliment my dress!! I would HIGHLY recommend this story to ANY bride--even brides across the country who want to jet-set for the day to find the dress of their dreams!! It's WELL worth it!!
Thank you RONNIE, MARA, ERIKA, RANDY and JOAN!!! Such a great team, you made my dreams come true!!
Pros: Great service, excellent selection, all designer gowns at amazing prices.
Cons: None that I can think of!
I hade such an amazing experience choosing my gown at Kleinfelds. I had previously purchased my dress and came back to make sure I made the right decision. The staff was extremely helpful, attentive, and really made sure that I made the best decision for me. Ronnie (the owner) was very personable and helpful and Randy the fashion director was also terrific. They were even taping an episode of the show (which I was not on and nowhere near) and they still put in lots of time with me to make sure I was happy and taken care of. They (and my salesperson) both made me feel like I was a princess! I can't wait for my wedding day and I am looking forward to going back to Kleinfelds for my fitting. I would say that Kleinfelds is a must for all brides looking for gowns.
A friend of mine bought her wedding gown at the Amsale Trunk show in February and had a great experience. Our sales consultant, Pauline was wonderful! I told Pauline that when I got engaged I would come back to her. Well I actually got engaged 3 weeks after my friend bought her gown. I knew that I wanted to go to Kleinfeld, but I made it my last appointment. I decided to see the rest of what NYC had to offer before I went there. I went to Bergdorf, Pronovias, RK and Pricilla of Boston. I went to Kleinfeld last Friday. Pauline remembered me and was so professional and also so much fun! They were having a Pnina Tornai trunk show. I have been in love with one of her gowns for a very long time. I actually wanted my friend to try it on when we were there in February but they said they didn't have it. Pauline introduced me to Pnina and asked me to describe the gown. She said it was from 2007 and they might have the sample in the stock room. By the way Pnina has a great way about her. She is very warm and kind. Pauline took me and my friend into the gown room to look for others to try on while she went to the stock room. What was only 5 minutes seemed like an eternity....Lo and behold here comes Pauline with THE DRESS!!!! I knew it was the one that I would buy when I saw it in the bag...lol:-)
The best part is that the dress was marked down significantly. I put it on and didn't want to take it off. Randi, the fashion director came over and help me match up a veil. He was also very nice and very professional. I also met Ronnie the owner. He was very personable and seemed like he genuinely enjoyed his work.
Because the dress is a sample, I was able to bring it home that day. My wedding is in February of 2009 so I will book an appointment at towards the end of this year for alterations.
Kleinfeld is the place to go! I also recommend Pauline as a consultant. She really listens to what you are looking for and is patient, as well as honest in her advice and opinions.
i just want to say kleinfeld made my gown shopping the best experience so far in my wedding planning! and its definetly one i will never forget. they service so many brides and they truly make you feel like your the only girl in the world getting married! their was excellent service and from start to finish, they really made me feel like they were a part of my family .the only way i can describe kleinfelds to you is that i felt they were making it their mission to find me a dress. and who wouldnt want that kind of service!!!!!!! Every person in the store greets and introduces themselves to you (even the owners!!)and being such a large corperation i was not expecting that at all. but ladies if you can get keasha as your consultant YOUR IN GOOD HANDS!! EXCELLENT EXCELLENT place for every bride to be!!
My sister is getting married in September so we made an appointment for her to try on some dresses at Kleinfeld's yesterday. We had originally made an appointment for the previous week, but needed to rechedule - which they were extremely flexible about. Upon arrival, we were introduced to Rita who was absolutely wonderful. My sister had brought pictures of some dresses she was interested in trying on, and within 10 minutes the dresses were in the fitting room. Rita was great - offering her opinion when it was asked for, but not being pushy at all. She completely listened and complied with any of my sister's requests. After trying on about 10 - 12 dresses, Rita was still in high spirits and offering suggestions as to other options. It was a great experience made better by Rita's demeanor and eagerness to help.
Pros: Employees, Atmosphere, Selection
I cannot rave enough about my fantastic experience at Kleinfeld's yesterday! Jacqueline assisted me and was invaluable. We began with an interview, in her private dressing room, where we discussed what I specifically was looking for in a dress and the feeling I was trying to capture. She thoughtfully considered my ideas and NEVER tried to force her ideas upon me. She asked about our budget so she knew where to guide us in the showroom. Then, the search began! The gowns are displayed well so you can easily see them. They have a wide selection of wedding gowns. The prices are very reasonable considering the individuality and quality of these gowns and they have a wide price range ($1800 and up). I picked approximately 8 gowns and then we returned to the dressing room. I tried on the first gown, which I really liked, and we walked to the center of the showroom. There, Randy, the fashion director, found the perfect veil, discussed how to bustle the gown, and completed the look with a bouquet. I have to say, that was the first time I really visualized myself as a bride. For the next hour (each appointment is for 90 minutes), I continued to try on gowns. We laughed (and danced!) with Jacqueline. We had very similar thoughts on what gowns worked with my figure and which did not. I was actually surprised at our similar mindset. I ended up selecting the last gown that I tried on. It was "the" dress. Jacqueline never tried to convince me to buy one gown over another. There was absolutely no pressure. I have been looking forward to shopping for my wedding gown and imaginging the whole experience since my fiance proposed. I really was giddy with excitement because this experience surpassed my expectations. Every employee I encountered was pleasant, smiling, and accommodating. I would highly recommend Kleinfeld's without hesitation. Jacqueline was an absolute joy to work with! My mother is looking forward to shopping for her MOB dress there next!
Pros: Selection, service/personal attention
I am the girl that?s dreamt about her wedding since she was 16. I am the girl that has the 3-inch thick binder. That said, the expectations for Kleinfeld's were very high.
I walked into Kleinfeld and it was truly surreal. From the receptionist who greeted me to the consultant that helped me, it was truly a great experience. Muriah (my consultant) listened carefully and helped me pick out dresses. She quickly got a sense that I ?meant business? and that I knew what I wanted. She helped me in and out of dresses and did not once try to ?sell me? ? but instead, gave me honest input. I narrowed it down to two, but unfortunately, I just couldn't commit.
The following Saturday I was greeted by Muriah once again, who knew exactly what I was looking for and how to handle me. I showed her a few additional pictures and she started pulling dresses. Once again, I was stumped, as was she. So I decided that it would be best to take some time to think about it.
On my way out that afternoon I ran into Ronnie, the owner, who asked me if I had decided on a dress and how my experience had been, thus far. He was absolutely sincere and genuine in his questions about where I was getting married, what my fiance did for a living, etc.? truly an amazing guy who loves what he does and makes each and every bride feel special ? not because he has to ? but because he wants to. Ronnie?s parting words to me were: ?You have to come back. I have to see you in both dresses and then we?ll make a decision??
Three nights later I went back. Muriah again greeted me with open arms, not minding that she had yet to close the deal after two previous visits. She had both dresses waiting for me and immediately let Ronnie know I was there. Fifteen minutes later it was a done deal.
Kleinfeld had a tough critic in me, and they far exceeded my expectations. From the environment to the service to the genuine nature of the staff to the quality of the dresses? I recommend it to every bride-to-be.
