Went with a few friends for my husband's birthday in 2007. Drinks, bowling, atmosphere- all good. At approx $200, I chucked it up to the drinks and although the DJ was bad, all in all we had a good time. Figured I could do the same this year, by reserving 2 lanes for 2 hrs for a group of 10. Almost $800 ($125 PER lane PER hr AND you MUST cater @ least 3 items)!!! And we haven't even talked about beverages!
PROS: Good, fun atmosphere for a COUPLE of friends
CONS: More expensive that its worth, you can get a better value else where. Unless, you've got it like that....
I also don't like 300's obvious plug in the reviews in an attempt to raise its rating.

A few weeks ago I went here with people from work for a holiday party. We all had a great time. The food was better than what I expected it to be and ofcourse the drinks were great. The person who put together the event at our company purchased one of their drink packages that really kept our group "rolling and bowling". I went back with a few friends for their, I think it's called a Tuesday bowling bash. Anyway, with a DJ and 28 bucks for all you can bowl it was great. We all got on the lanes right away and were well taken care of by the staff. Will certainly go back. If you haven't been here you should go. By Manhattan standards it's very cool and affordable.
Pros: Lots of space...great atmosphere and service
Cons: been there twice and really don't have any

I am in the military and after being underway for over a year I went back home to have long needed visit. On a family outing we stopped by the Chelsea Piers and went bowling at 300 for the first and last time. The service was a disgrace, slow and unwelcoming. The unprofessional management was prejudice and disrespectful and the staff was untrained and incompetent in their jobs. For all the money people pay to 300, it seems as if not enough goes to better hiring practices.
Cons: Management/staff completely unprofessional

I was there on a Friday evening about 10pm. Just walked up with a friend, no wait time, clean environment. I like the disco lighting, but the loud gangsta rap was a bit much for me, but if I was 18 I would have enjoyed it more. Funny but after 10pm they do not allow anyone under 21 to be there, not a bad thing. Very expensive, three games some appetizers, beers about $150 for two people. For a more traditional bowling experience, I'll look elsewhere..
Pros: No wait time when I was there, attentive service..
Cons: Costly, it's bowling not clubbing..., food just OK

I went here 5/9/2008 to celebrate a friend's birthday, and it was just ok. We got there way around 5 and waited an hr and a half just to pay 4 dollars more for a game which I thought couldve been a bit better. they wait time is very ridiculous and it was more noisy than any bowling alley I been too, it sounded like a cafeteria. Parents were'nt controlling their kids, little toddlers to 10 yr olds rolling on the floors, jumping on the couches and play fighting, I never once saw a staff member give the parents a clue, even when the parents were looking at the kids play unsafe. the food was good and piping hot despite the reviews. we had sum nachos, fries and chicken tenders that were a big enough portion for 3 people to share. the only thing I hated was the bottle water thing, they serve one type of water and dont inform u there's a water fountain. The lanes were just average, they were indeed clean but too close to the next party which was extremely loud but one good thing is the setup of the lanes, they've got music videos (recent and old) playing while you bowl to a particular theme, pretty cool. Another thing they could do better on is the service, the staff is all laughs not really paying attention to your needs and most of them were steady checking out the birthday girl while we waited an extra 15 mins after the hr and a half just for sum1 to show us where 2 get shoes. also they could use some more activities to do while you wait, the little arcade is'nt much and quite expensive ($1 for 1 token)...Overall i'd recommend it to some one but I'd point out go after 6 when the kiddies are gone or if you go early, pack you patience!
Pros: Good atmosphere, nice lanes
Cons: service, wait time

We went there yesterday for my boyfriend's birthday and, while waiting for lanes for over 90 minutes, we had some birthday cake and cupcakes that friends brought in for the occasion - in addition to some beer and drinks we ordered from the bar. We eventually got our lanes and had fun bowling, but after spending about $300 on bowling and drinks, we still got charged $25 for eating our own cake and desserts that were brought in to celebrate the birthday. The managers were inflexible when we tried to get a refund - they said we should've gotten cake from their so-called restaurant, and that was just cheap and petty on their part. Oh - and when I wanted a glass of water, they only wanted to sell me bottled water, and neglected to tell me that there was a water fountain near the bar. We won't be coming back !! There are plenty of other more accomodating places around!

Recently went to 300 with my company to have a fun night out bowling. The booking and arrangement process was pretty easy, and when we arrived we were quickly installed at our lanes. The Facilities are really good, and some of the best bowling i've ever had. One thing I missed however was a larger selection of bowlingballs to choose from as the only available ones seemed to be the ones already placed at the lanes.
The big let down for me however was the food and drinks. We ordered in a bunch of food, and I have to say it was all very poor quality. Not that you would expect top notch stuff at a bowling place, but this was on par with airport food if not even worse. Prefabricated processed junk that was just heated(and not always heated well I might add). The pizza we ordered was downright disgusting. Not only my own opinion, but the consensus of everyone who came with us that night. The day after at work, people generally said "bowling was great and I had fun, but the food was horrible". The beers we're ok, but only just so. Old scruffy pitchers filled with boring domestic stuff. Stella was avaliable, but that was pretty much the only decent lager. You would expect a large place like this to have a better selection of ales and beers on tap.
I would go there again, but only for the bowling, and not so much for the food.
Pros: Good lanes, ok service
Cons: Food is horrible, poor selection of beer, expensive

300 is the mecca of all bowling alleys! It is has the perfect combination of everything for a
fun night out-even staff who dance to the best mix of hip-hop-made me want to work there!
The girls are hot that work there- this place is all class--
everyone looks happy to be there--and that definately rubs off on us customers--
this place rocks!
Pros: hot staff and dancers
Cons: wish they had some healthier food to eat

I went with some friends to 300 New York for bowling last weekend. We were picked out of the crowd waiting at the door and asked if we wanted to go to VIP. It cost more but they told us it was better so we did it. EVERY GIRL WORKING BACK THERE WAS SMOKING HOT. The drinks were on the expensive side but we looked at the bottle service list and they were not as bad as some clubs in Manhattan. They even had dancers (not strippers) back there. We got wasted and the girls next to us were dancing with us. The DJ was tearin' it up. Everyone was having a good time. I will go back to this place whenever I can afford it.

I have been to this bowling alley before the renovations and it was your average typical bowling experience. I haven't been since then until last week and i was blown away. This place makes leisure time and bowlmor look like a dump! They have giant video screens in back of the lanes with a dj spinning the lastest tunes. The system is post pay now as opposed to prepaid before and your given someone to take you to the lanes. Actual Service!!! Our waitress was great she gaves us recommendations on what to eat and drink. Me and my girls went for the xtreme platter that had everything on it and some drinks (Delicious). It was great! Everything was conveniently on one bill food and drinks. When we finished bowling and a couple more drinks at the bar (try the frozen big blue margarita-it's just like the one @ BBQ's)
we played in the arcade. After a couple of those drinks the dancing game was quite entertaining for us and everyone around. LOL
I would definately go there again. We are already planning our next outing but this time in the VIP. It was already full so we got a regular lanes. But it looks even better than the already chic regular lanes.
Pros: Parking is expensive inside the piers so park in the lot on 18th Street and 10th Ave or be prepared to break your wallet CASH ONLY!--- Make a reservation so you don't have to wait.
Cons: A super-fun time!! On the up side if you do choose to park in the overpriced parking lot there is valet service for free on pier 59.

I went to 300 New York with a bunch of friends for a birthday party. We had a blast!!!. The service was great, our server made sure that the drinks kept coming. We had a buffet and the food was really good not what I had expected. I am thinking of planning a birthday party for my sister her for her 30th in the private lanes called Club 300, which has a cool VIP club feel. Can't wait to come again.
Pros: Great drinks

I am not much of a bowler so when my friends decided to go to 300 on a saturday night lets say I was not very optimistic. To my surprise I was pleased when we got there. The atmosphere is great and the xtreme bowling was wonderful. The staff is pleasent and very welcoming. The drinks and the food are also good. Needless to say I am not a great bowler but I would DEFINITELY go back!! It makes for a great and exciting saturday night and I recommend going,
Pros: Everything was great I was pleased

Was invited to my friend's birthday bowling party and thought it was going to be lame since I hadn't been bowling in 10 years and didn't have much fun then. I was impressed from the moment we entered the door. All of the staff were very friendly and helpful. Our laneside server was attentive and kept the drinks coming. The atmosphere was perfect, from the XL Music Video Screens behind every lane to the high energy music that pleased the crowd. I couldn't believe that I actually had fun bowling. I will definitely be back.

My boyfriend threw me a surprise birthday party @ 300 New York on Friday, June 8th. It was the best party I ever had. He rented these private Club 300 Lanes. I never seen lanes like it before. There were big screens with my pictures and our video from our vacation. It was so cool. The food was great, and there was a private bar in club 300. There was our own private DJ = he was awesome. The staff was very attentive and on point. I didn't want to leave, the drinks were good and they even decorated the private space for me. I was so surprised. Til this day I'm getting compliments from all of my friends. I never been bowling in Chelsea because I always thought it was too far. The commute was actual very simple. I will definately recommend this venue for anyone who wants to have a party. And the waitress told me they even do corporate event.
Pros: Great Venue, food was great & service was on point

Went with some friends there recently on a Friday night. We had a blast. One person in our group had been there before with her company and was amazed how great the place looked. She found out they recently renovated the whole place. We did have to wait a bit for a lane but even that was no problem. They have this great lounge area where we sat and had some drinks, really a great atmosphere. They were playing some really great music video's on these huge screens down by the bowling pins, unbelievable, I've never seen that before. We had some really good food while we bowled and just had so much fun. The service was great, we had our own server. After bowling we went upstairs to this other lounge, our server called it the Loft. It's a really great spot. The music is different but still great. You can look out and down to the lanes, really cool. We had a drink up there and it was just a real nice time. Great atmosphere like downstairs but different. I will definitely be going back. As New York goes not too expensive either. One person in our group was talking to a manager there and found out they also do kids birthday parties and has since booked a party for his neice for a Saturday afternoon.
It's just a really nice place to have a great time. I can't wait to go back. It was busy and great all at the same time.
Pros: Service--Atmosphere--Different areas to sit and eat and drink--Music
Cons: The wait for the lane if I want to be picky

I took my 13 and 10 year old girls here for a birthday party and was pleasantly surprised. After having and attending many parties at Chuck E Cheese type places I thought that this was just going to be another party along those same lines. When we got to the bowling alley we were immediately greeted at the door (who knew) and escorted to our lanes after getting sized for our bowling ball and our shoes. I was used to going and getting everything myself in the past so this was interesting. Once we got to the lanes the attendant put our names in the computer and we were off. It was very easy and the staff was very accommadating. When the party got started the food (pizza) came out on time and the staff controlled the kids so that they would all get to bowl and have a good time. After this experience at 300 New York I booked my 10 year olds next party there. My kids had a great time.
Pros: kids birthday parties
Cons: looks like it gets all grown up the later it gets in the day

I went here with some friends of mine that normally go to Bowlmor in the city and this place really blew it away. They have video screens above every lane and a cool private space in the back. We went by to waste some time on Chelsea Piers and ended up staying for 4 hours. Great time and a great spot.
Pros: great fun

I didn't know that bowling had become cool. When I went to meet my friends at 300 New York I had no idea what I was in store for. I have not been bowling in 15 years but all of us had a great time. This place carries everything from Budweiser to Crystal! There is a total of three different bars all carring different brands of beer and we tried them all. The service was great. What other bowling place has fresh flowers in the bathrooms along with their own bathroom attendants. I like the way bowling has changed... I will be back!
Pros: great beer selection, cool vibe
Cons: hard to get into the private club area

300 New York is like a breath of fresh air. Everything that we wanted in a cool spot is here! From the great music, food, and excellent service this place rocks. We have been looking for a place that we could hang out in and do something other than stand around and 300 New York was perfect. We compared this place to Bowlmor and 300 wins hands down. Great food, great service, the really cool house music loft and the option to be in the private club 300 make this place great. Not alot of people know about it yet so get there now before it becomes a mad house... plus really cool on Tuesday, Thursday, Friday, and Saturday is the rotation of live DJ's in the space... Awesome!
Pros: great food, great service, great space plus private lanes in a private club
Cons: will get very busy very soon

This place used to be Chelsea Piers Lanes and although that was cool what they have done to the place is amazing! We had our corporate party there and it was off the hook. The drinks never stopped flowing and we had the private VIP space in the back with our own bartender and video DJ. It was very cool how the dj spun the videos on the screens above the lanes. I had never seen anything like that before. The staff was great and after our party we went upstairs to their place called the loft lounge. This was all house music with a really cool vibe. I couldn't believe that this was a bowling center. I came back that same week on Saturday and although I had to wait my 13 and 7 year olds had a great time as well. This place really can be all things to all people. I highly recommend it. If you like bowling great if not it is still a cool place to hang. It beats everybody else in the city hands down!
Pros: great drinks, good service and food, VIP lounge, cool vibe
Cons: none
