Love the back yard and the patrons seem interesting on Thursday and Friday nights. But I have occasionally been there on early weeknights and I do not care for the young bar rep there. I had to literally scream to get her attention to order me and my friends drinks. Need more mature bar staff on the week nights and besides it was empty when I got there and when I left. That should tell you something....

Pros: Polite interesting people on Friday nights!

Cons: Went on a week night and did not care for the bartender

After few mins of horror at the junk yard across the street (hanks) it was very nice to sit on clean chairs, enjoying the beautiful backyard, while sipping on a good drink. I really liked the atmosphere here, they seemed to all know each other here. Think of it as the new "cheers" lol. I didn't really like the music in the jukebox and that when I came back inside all 4 or 5 tvs were set on sports channels. Besides that everything else was good..especially the bathrooms..they have 2 for men and women..and they keep them clean. This is my new neighborhood bar.

This is a great bar to just order a beer, take it to the back patio, light up a cigarette, and just relax after a long day. You'll feel like your'e in your own backyard. I went there with a friend recently after a concert at Hank's Saloon (across the street). This is a great place to mellow out before or after a show at Hank's. The draft beer prices weren't bad. The jukebox had a somewhat nice music selection, mostly rock and southern rock. My only grief with this place is that they keep the music too soft and the patrons tend to all know each other and keep to themselves, so you may feel left out if you're not from the area.

Pros: back patio, friendly bartenders, reasonable prices

Cons: jukebox plays too soft, clicky patrons

I read they charged you $6.00 for a Bud light, but that was a bad bartender that no longer works there, I have been there a few times and the prices are very cheap, the Bud Light btl is $3.50, I have been there on fri, sat and sun and I can tell you I had a good time, the bartenders working both days are cool and professional and the patio is perfect for smokers..give it another try, you will change your mind.

My wife and I checked it out after watching the 4th of July fireworks. Quiet, very casual, and all of the customers, including the bartender, were hanging out on the back porch. Seems like it draws a very friendly close-knit crowd. The only problem is, at $6.00 for a Bud Light, it's hard to see this place competing with the more hip draws around the neighborhood.

This is a pretty nice bar located in Boerum Hill. Prices are reasonable $3.50 for a bottle of Coors Light. It has a Trivia Machine, Jukebox and several large TV's, however they all were tuned to the Bravo Channel when I was there (Friday Night). There seems to be an outdoor patio to sit however it was closed due to the weather.

I am sure the bartenders and staff are friendly to their customers, but when it comes to being nice to their neighbors they're almost as bad as their patrons. I live right above this bar, which has a back garden (if you can call it that, because it's all cement), and have been unable to sleep well for the past 4 months because of the noise . Phone calls, and even visits and conversations with the staff, seem to do nothing to improve the situation. The customers are totally inconsiderate, loud people who are turning what could be a cozy neighborhood bar into a nightmare for the community. I have gone to many other bars and restaurants in both Brooklyn and Manhattan that have back gardens, and all of them have a curfew for customers to move inside and not disturb the neighbors. Is it really so hard to do? I would love to make this my regular hangout since it is so conveniently close to home (and cheap!), but given the circumstances I will never spend any money there, nor encourage anyone else to do so.

The first reviewer offends me. Yes an amazing political group comes in everynight. But they don't bother nobody. Its the underground be all of the new york political world. Campaigns were started and ended their. Protests planned and the unwinding of overworked underpaid political operatives happens. Lou and Chris know all the customers by name. Mercedes and Julie look after thier regulars. Everyone here truely knows your name. And the treat will definetly be talking to old man ray. When Ian's working he's the only bartender i know that'll talk you out of a drink thats ridiculously expensive and probably not good for your liver. Thursdays are staff night so its filled with those political types. The tavern is my must be everytime i'm in NY

Pros: $2 bud lights

This was once an out-of-the way, unassuming neighborhood bar, but now a local political group comes in every night - not simply as an afterwork hangout but to do more work, and they think they run the place. If you leave your seat to have a smoke outside or go pee, forget it. Most of them are rather nerdy kids who will confront you rather rudely and ask whether you are politically correct; others will simply walk up to you and declare that they want to have a conversation with you. A number of the old regulars have been walking with their feet; others just shake their heads in disgust, and there aren't many of them left. Every night the bar gets calls from neighbors complaining about these kids. The staff is still friendly, but it seems as if these people are held hostage.

Pros: affordable drinks

Cons: rude customers, arrogant customers, helpless staff

this bar serves up a fireplace for your winter needs, and a backyard for smoking. thank god.
their most excellent happy hour during the week saves your pocket, and some of the coolest bartenders exist to pour your $3 guinness pints. can't beat it. the crowd is diverse, and new yawk.
