very pleasant workers, did an excellent job of refinishing our floors i live in a building and lisa from the office was very helpful with the insurance and the management company i didn't need even to call the management for that .
They were careful and professional, and we're delighted with their work. We would definitely recommend them to others.

I had my apartment done by Classic Hardwood - the wood was not cured and thus leaving millions of dents on it. I complained to Classic Hardwood about this problem and they came to look at it - they told me I should speak to the wood factory. My contract was with Classic - not with the wood factory. The wood factory went bankrupt and the wood was never replaced. Classic Hardwood did not want to take the responsbility. Classic dumped the problem on me saying that I should deal with them directly. The baseboard they installed is coming off the walls, space between the wood is wide and looks terrible. I have tried to get them back to fix it and so far haven't. Once the work is done Classic does not want to take responsibility. I had a very bad experience and I would never use them again.

Pros: Good with keeping appointments - bad following up

Cons: Dont want to take responsibility for the crappy work they do

While my hardwood floors look better overall, there were some unexplained scratches that I did not remember seeing before, including a six-foot long scratch in the middle of a room. If, indeed, it had been there prior to refinishing, I assume it would have been sanded out. When I called them, I felt that they were just trying to explain it away, saying that the scratch was probably too deep for it to be sanded out evenly with the rest of the floor. They also said it could have been a knife used to cut wall-to-wall carpet used by a previous owner or worker which scratched the floor. In the KITCHEN?! Then I was told that redoing the entire kitchen would have lessened the life of the hardwood floor anyway, which may be true, but I felt that if Classic had done a better job of pointing out hard-to-finish places beforehand during the estimate then the experience would have been better. The owners come over for the estimate and do a fast-talking sales pitch complete with a portfolio of previous work and references.

The work crew was a bit sloppy. One of the electrical plates for an outlet was damaged when I came back, and there was also a large clump of wood shavings stuck in the middle of the foyer on top of the polyurethane. At least they came over and took care of that. While they advertise "dustless" refinishing, there was still a LOT of dust to clean up afterwards, so either regular sanding would have created a lot more dust, or these claims of dustless refinishing are all hooey. I probably would not use them again and will try out another vendor next time.

Pros: Accurate estimate

Cons: Response to dissatisfied product, carelessness with equipment/neatness
