Mexican cuisine is by far one of my top 5 throughout the world, and Chipotle satisfies my taste buds like no other. Their meats, beans, veggies, etc., are always served fresh and timely. Although I would really appreciate if the price was

I usually avoid places like Chipotle Mexican Grill, which opened last month on 44th Street, near Third Avenue. It belongs to a chain partly owned by McDonald's. That places it squarely among the forces that are ironing the country's quirky regional wrinkles into a smooth national uniform in which Anchorage equals Akron. Each franchise, whether restaurant, coffee shop or drugstore, arrives with focus groups, market surveys and other tools of bureaucracy, relentlessly homogenizing flavor and creativity.

While the components of Chipotle's burritos, fajitas and tacos are made in advance, they are assembled to order, a crucial element in the leap from sustenance to pleasure.

The chain trumpets its use of free-range pork, chicken and beef, from humanely raised animals that are not fed hormones or antibiotics. I can't help applauding, though Chipotle applauds itself enough without my help. Still, poor kitchen practices can overshadow even the best ingredients. What's most impressive is how carefully Chipotle controls its cooking and serving operation, a difference you can taste, not just between Chipotle and other fast-food places but also between Chipotle and independent burrito shops.

Nonetheless, Chipotle's burritos are different, especially those made from braised pork ($6.50), which has a rich, deep porky flavor. It goes especially well with plump, well-seasoned pinto beans and a medium-heat salsa that combines the brightness of tomatillo with the spark of green-chili heat and the fresh jolt of cilantro. I prefer a burrito with a modest amount of cheese and no sour cream, and as I made my way along the swift-moving line at the counter, I could oversee its fabrication to my specifications.

Right by my job there's a Chipotle and I go with co-workers for lunch all the time. The food tastes great and is affordable and it feels like a real Mexican meal!

Their menu says "naturally raised" but I don't know what that means and neither do their line cooks. One of them said it meant organic, no, I don't think so. The veggies aren't pesticide free either. I swear I have tried almost every

Some one in these review said that Chipotle had Poor Ingredients. That person has no idea what hes talking about. Chipotle naturaly raises there chicken and pigs. Half of the beef they serve is natualy rasied as well. All there ingredients are very healthy. I have lost many pounds due to eating only Chipotle. So do your reseach on what you eat and you will see that many or not all the meats you eat are from stressed out animals that were injected with hormons. CHIPOTLE IS ON TOP FOR ME!

Pros: The best food ever!

Cons: Some time there could be some bad staff and bad Ambiance. 44th and 3rd Ave is the best one.

If you want a cheap, messy, and humongous burrito made with poor ingredients go here. They do not even have yellow mexican rice here. The whole point of eating a burrito is that you can get all of the flavors in one mouthful but Chipotle burrittos fall apart after your 3rd bite. Everything is so throw together by the third bite after your burrito explodes you can't even tell what your eating anymore.

If anyone has had anna's taquieria in Boston it's hard to go back to eating this stuff. I'm never eating here again.

Pros: Cheap, Very Filling, Quick Service

Cons: Poor Ingredients, Messy, Heart Attacks

Big burritos, great prices, what else can you ask for? Sure, the place can get filled quick, but thats Times Square for ya. Come here during the late night hours to enjoy the place when its more quiet.

Pros: Food, Prices, Burritos

Cons: Crowded, Wait In Line

.

I go to lunch here a number of times. When I first went, there was a REALLY long line that went out the door, and by the looks of that, it was discouraging to even want to try it. However, I heard great things about it; so, I gave it a shot. I was surprised how fast the line went! They make them really fast, and the wait doesn't feel long at all. The food is GREAT, and I love how you can pick and choose what you want in your burrito/fajita/bol/tacos. My favorite is their chicken fajita, and I'm addicted to their salsas! Not to mention, their burritos/fajitas are HUGE!! It's such a great value!

Cons: paying extra for gucamole

I have never seen a burrito stuff so much. You go thru three people that builds the burrito the way you want it (meats, beans, veg...)---mines was spicy and really good---i couldn't finish the entire thing. This place serves one of the best burrito in NYC.

I first ate Chipotle in Denver about 6 years ago and was so excited to see one in the city. If I am craving a burrito, this is hands down the only place I go, the chicken is wonderful. Ambience is sort of fast foodish but if you're after quick, great food this is the place. They are so big that I often make two meals out of it

Near restaurant quality food at fast food prices. The service isn't always great, but then again this is a fast food establishment.

You have no idea what everyone is talking about it until you go. Without a doubt best chicken burrito in the city, if not ever, the burrito bowl is also a great alternative...I just wish this place had stock

Chipotle is hands-down the best Mexican in this city. The food is fresh, the meat is high-quality and they know the secret to amazing guacamole (the test of any true Mexican place). Puts places like Burritoville to shame!

I first tried this in Denver, CO a few years ago. I just tried their new East Village location near Astor Place. It is your best bet for cheap eats and good value. You can't possibly not be full once finishing one of these burritios! Good for lunch or dinner! Easy on the wallet and your palate!

Chipotle just does something special with their food, somehow all the parts just add up to create more then their sum. In particular I think there is something magical about the cilantro/lemon rice they use. Its like nothing else, so give it a try.
