Thanks to Lynda, it was my best massage yet! I had the Silk Supreme Massage and it was the most relaxing 90 minutes ever! I had a knot on my back (near spine) for almost a year now and I could not figure out why for the life of me. I told Lynda about it, she found it on my back then worked her magic concentrating on that area and my knot is gone! I will definitely be there for round two :) THUMBS UP!

My friend, who is Korean, got a facial at this spa. The owners of the establishment are also Korean, and so one would assume they would know how to treat the facial skin of someone that is similar to them. Instead, they messed up her skin with a facial giving her bumps, dryness and causing a massive breakout. When she went in to rectify the situation, the owners tried to make it better but in fact made her skin worse. Two days later, my friend called the spa because the bumps and breakouts were not going down, and the skin specialist that treated her told her to call her if the skin was not healing. When she called, the workers said the owner was not available.

Several minutes later, THE OWNER CALLED AND STARTED ACCUSING MY FRIEND OF TRYING TO OBTAIN FREE SERVICES. More heinous than that, my friend is getting married soon and only came to start getting pre-wedding facials. You would think that this spa would try to maintain a good (?) reputation by a) giving a good product, b) giving decent customer service and c) NOT ACCUSING CUSTOMERS OF BEING THIEVES.

Do yourself a favor and don't go to this place. Their manners are like that of their mongol ancestors (think Genghis Khan).

In my line of work (ad sales), I frequent many spas in New York with clients and I was so pleased with my recent appointments at Silk. My colleague and I took a small group of clients to Silk to treat them and I was blown away at how easy the staff at Silk made it for us. Upon arrival, the friendly staff took over and made sure that we were as comfortable and relaxed as possible. The beautiful locker room and "relaxation area" really made an impression on my clients and the therapist were ?out of this world" as one client put it. We had a caterer deliver a few small treats to enjoy after our service and the staff took care of everything and set up a beautiful display for us while we were in our treatments. It's obvious they've definitely done this before and are very comfortable with accommodating groups. From booking to saying goodbye this was a wonderful experience and I will definitely be back!

Silk Day Spa has a beautiful interior, with Eastern-style design. The relaxation room is exotic and zen-like, and you can munch on yummy jelly beans and chilled water while you wait. The therapists I've worked with have all been lovely and accomodating ... the only suggestion I would make is that they need better trained behind-the-counter people - they always seem new and unsure of what they're doing.

There's no sauna, but the locker rooms are spacious and lush, with showers and amenities.

Rather than a warm and fuzzy feeling that I was expecting, my day at Silk Spa made me feel like I was part of a herd of cattle. I was rushed to the lockers, called by the wrong name, waited for fresh towels and then had a mediocre facial by a woman who couldn't wait to get me off the bed! It wasn't at all what I expected- yet it certainly cost plenty.

Customer service....Not sure they know what customer service means...The staff answering the phone is extremely rude and unhelpful. The most unpleasant spa I have experienced.

I enjoyed my facial at silk and am generally okay with the quality of the facial i received. But if you are expecting a 'spa experience', this will not do. By 'Spa' I mean a nice sauna, steam, waterfalls, a special place like great jones or something like that. Unfortunately, that is what I wanted and that is what the reviews here led me to beleive I would get. But if you just want a facial and mani/pedi, then silk would do. Would I go there again? maybe. Would I recommend it to my friends? not exactly. I would go to a nail spa and pay half the price.

silk day spa is a wonderful, not-to-be-missed experience. ever since i have been there, very few other spas have measured up. that is - if you go during a time when it's not packed with people. friendly service, great facials and hot stone massages....

I recently went to Silk on a Monday morning, tired from the weekend and not willing to start the week like that, so I took the day off, and went to Silk!! It was beautiful inside, the locker rooms..(shouldnt be called locker rooms..they are so beautiful and CLEAN!) nice showers, plenty of towels and nice robes! went to the "relaxation area" to wait for my therapist, Eileen, and she escorted me to the room, very polite and she REALLY listened and focused on all the areas that needed it the most, and was a really Great massage.... I was so relaxed(not really like me at all) and enjoyed every minute that I completely forgot about the outside world for part of my day. It was just what I needed!! I would Recommend going on a Monday to start your week right!

I had been to Silk in February and had gotten the Eastern Indulgence. It was an amazing experience and so i returned again, with my boyfriend for a massage. When i booked the appointment, i asked for 2 massage therapist that had previously been employed at Silk Sookie and Way but both were now gone. The receptionist gave me the names of the two people that would be massaging my boyfriend and me, and they both sounded like women names so i took the appointment. Well upon arrival, we found out my massage therapist would be a man. What the hell? They had suddenly changed. i was very uncomfortable with that but i still went along with it. Anyway, i proceeded to have the worst massage ever. My boyfreinds massage therapist did not even use the essential oils that Silk promises. He claims it was the worst massage he's ever gotten and mine was not good at all either. With the high amount that Silk now charges you would expect to receive excellent service. Well we recieved much less than perfect. My boyfriend told me the crappy massages i give him every night are much better than the one he received at silk.

I would not recommend Silk again and will never return.

I've been here twice for a Hot Stone Massage, and each time they've been great. The service from the receptionist to the bathroom attendants was perfect...they were calm and didn't interrupt the flow of the experience. The ambiance was perfect as well. It's a peaceful and clean place. I recommend it.

I've had hundreds of massages in my life and I'd rank Tom as one of the
best massage therapists I've ever encountered. He read my intake questionaire
carefully, was friendly and easy-going and really got all my painful, knotty sore
spots. He really worked magic. I'm definitely going back, just for him! One note -
they should enfore a "quiet" policy in the relaxation area and i would prefer dried
fruits/nuts to the jellybeans. But otherwise, an excellent, wonderful massage experience.

I am a frequent spa goer and Silk is by far the best spa in New York. The staff is really friendly and always looking to help. It seems like they really care. Whenever my girlfriends ask where to go for a spa visit I now tell them to go to Silk.

while I've had excellent massages at Silk, I recently made the mistake of adding a pedicure. The seating was extremely uncomfortable, especially for a tall person, and since it was scheduled after the massage, I lost all the benefits of the excellent deep tissue treatment. To their credit, when i complained, they did not charge me for the pedicure. Although I appreciated that, it did not make up for the pain I was in or the waste of time and money for a massage whose benefits I did not get to enjoy.

That this storefront spa had a gorgeous underbelly of spa treatments and excellent service.

I have been to the TOP spa's of NYC (including the $1000 price tag of the Mandarin Oriental) and Silk takes the cake.

From your choice of music, to the excellent selection of product to the no pressure sales technique to the amazing array of services and the cool waiting area, this place is the BEST!!!!!

Walking into Silk Day Spa, I was warmly welcomed with the staff already knowing my name when I had never been there before!! The reception staff all were so eager to help out offering different fruit infused water, tea, and jelly beans. The questionairre had questions that no spa I've ever been to has ever asked and this made my massage that much better. The locker room was fully stocked with everything I needed for my dinner appointment that followed. My massage therapist was so personable and made me feel like gold in both skill and the comfort level he created. (I was hesitant on trying a male therapist). From head to toe, and the places I requested focus on, all knots were untied. As busy as this spa is, it amazes me how much attention to detail Silk puts into everything. I would rate this a 6-star spa!

I had the worst experience from a stone massage. It was like a nightmare. The girl has absolutely no clue what a stone massage should be, just did the regular sweedish moves except used stones instead of hands. The stones were hot and burnt my back. She appologized and 10 minutes again did it again. Used way too much oil and just repeatedly stoked my back and legs with the rocks. Needless to say they will never see me there again.
Waste of time and money.

Everything about Silk Day Spa is exceptional! The staff is knowledgable and more than willing to cater to your every need. The hot stone massage I received was breath taking! It relieved any tention that I had upon my arrival. I also recieved the Papaya Mango Smoothie facial which left my skin clean, refreshed, and glistening. If I had to recommend one spa in the city, I would say Silk Day Spa!

I've never in my life written a letter of praise or complaint. Here's my first:

After hearing about Silk for some time, I finally made reservations for massages for my husband and me. Upon arrival, little did we know that downstairs from the darling storefront boutique is a huge spa. The boutique is filled with some of the most interesting and marvelously chosen items I've seen in NYC. I did severe damage to the credit card on my way out!

After receiving the best massages of our lives, the staff had champagne and flowers awaiting us! I didn't even remember mentioning it was our anniversary. This attention to detail and the kind and caring staff will definitely bring us back.

With spas opening every day and each one being more plush and grand than the last, I happily have found the perfect one of the lot: Silk Day Spa.

As a regular traveler I have been to many of the best spas in New York and around the world. Silk Day Spa's service and treatments rate among the best. It is obvious they spent alot of time training their staff from the receptionists to the therapists. My massage and facial treatments were fantasitic, but even better was the entire experience from my greeting all the way to check-out. Best spa in New york by long way.

I recived a gift certificate for a massage & a facial at silk. It was great from start to finish, the spa was beautiful the staff very friendly ( I hate pretentious receptionists!) I had the silk ki facial with Anna, it was the best facial I ever had. She asked me what I wanted to focus on and I almost fell asleep it was so relaxing! She made some suggestions but no hard selling (I hate that too). Then I had an awesome massage with Brian! He was brilliant and very sweet. I am a student so the prices are kind of steep for me, but I guess that's just "the city". Anyway it was great and I totally recommend it to anyone who can afford it!

As soon as I walked down the stairs of this downtown oasis, I knew I was in for something unique. The luxurious, airy decor immediately removes you from the heat and noise of city outside. This weekend, my friend and I experienced the spa's signature treatment, the Silk Empress... basically three hours of pure heaven. Starting with reflexology treatments and ending with head to toe exfoliation and message, we certainly felt like queens for a day. Silk Spa totally pampers you with your own personal therapist and guide to walk you through each service, allowing us in our "so-relaxed-we-are-completely-brain-dead" state to fully enjoy the facilities and treatments. In my opinion, this place is a good deal for the money- so you should hurry and make an appointment before they figure it out too.
