We recently moved from Queens to the East side with Oz Moving. The initial walk through with the salesman was pleasant and built up a lot of confidence. Then once the movers arrived we still felt confident.
However, after about 3 hours of them packing our furniture (and after we gave them tons of good food and drink) they started acting completely unprofessional. It started out as an overall attitude, but it turned into much more. This long and drawn out nightmare of a move has too many details for here, but for your sake, I will bullet point a few of the occurrences. All of this was from one bedroom apartment to another. Not a big move!
-They underestimated how much furniture we have--and therefore did not send enough movers. This made the move last until 1030PM!!!!!They started at 9:00AM!!!!
-They scratched and ruined several of our most valuable pieces of furniture (to their credit they have a great carpenter who fixes the damage--but there shouldn't be such damage in the first place)
-During the move, there was constant misconduct. So much, that the building told us that if they have one more problem with the company they will not let them move into the building again.
-I caught one of the movers cutting side jobs with one of our neighbors!!! No joke, he was in a neighbors apartment helping the neighbor with something while he was supposed to be moving our stuff!!
-The things that we packed on our own came back okay, EVERY ARTICLE that they packed came back with a defect.
-Towards the end of the move, when it came time to pay--at 10:30PM!!!, the movers started laughing at us to our faces in our living room.
-Worst for last--We moved in the summer, and went away right after we moved for a month. When we returned, we realized that after this horrible move, our winter coats never arrived at our apartment (we had them pack and deliver all of our winter coats). I right away called the "customer relations" lady Nancy (who in general has a chip on her shoulder), and she gave me a vague--"I'll look into it" answer. In the mean time I made sure with my old super that it wasn't accidentally left behind at the old apartment--it wasn't.
I didn't hear back from the "customer relations" lady for a week. Called her up, she barely remembered the case and said it isn't relevant if it's a month later but that I could fill out a claim. I filled out ANOTHER claim. When I called to ask about the claim, she started accusing me of lying, and saying that I am just trying to get money from them, and that I cannot prove anything.
I told her if she wants to know about the misconduct she can ask the building management. Then, she starts yelling at me that I am trying to bribe/blackmail her and how dare I threaten her. I was in complete disbelief!!! I had to then calm her down, instead of her calming down the customer.
My experience with Oz storage is not over, because they still have not agreed to help even try to locate my winter coats, and have said that none of my insurance will cover the items THEY LOST!
Oz Storage is one of the worst customer relations experience I've had and by for one of the most unprofessional companies I've ever dealt with. I do not like writing reviews, and I really don't have time for this, but for your sake--stay away from the OZ!!!! I wish someone would have told me.
PS-Small claims court and internet reviews--here we come!!!

I love Oz. I used them in my last move. Sure they were a little pricey ($400 min.) but it was literally the easiest move of my entire life. They came in, they saw, they did, and they set up my bed, table, couch, and tv in my new apartment. They padded everything really well before loading it with blankets that they brought. They brought enough help that it took maybe 30 minutes to load up my old studio and about as long to unload into my new place. I have a friend who has also used Oz and also has nothing but positive experiences.

Oz Movers was amazing

I used Oz movers recently when I moved from an apt with a roomate to by myself. Seeing as I didnt have a lot of help the movers really made my my life very easy. They were very quick with moving me from one location to the other. The movers that helped me were so nice and made the experience a lot better. Most movers arent this friendly either! I would highly recommend these movers to anyone who needed to move fast and easy.

Efficient Mover

After searching for a mover, I came across Oz Moving and Storage. They seem to be one of the top movers in NYC based on the previous reviews that I've read. Since this was my 2nd move in 3 years I was very careful when choosing a mover. The foreman arrived on time and were very fast and careful. I would highly recommend them when choosing a mover. Hopefully I won't have another move in the near future, but if I do, I would definitely hire Oz again!

I can't believe I found a moving company on Citysearch. Moving is always a dreaded task but Oz Moving & Storage made my moving worries disappear in minutes upon arrival. Their moving crew was courteous and their timing impeccable. I will never dread a move as long as Oz Moving & Storage are there for my needs.

Great Moving Company

I never thought I would write a review for a moving company, but Oz really outdid themselves. My roommate and I were moving from an elevator building to a 2nd floor walk-up. I called Oz when I was price shopping and they immediately came in lower priced then most of the other people I spoke with. They assured me this would be quick and easy. The guys came on time as scheduled and wrapped all of my furniture in plastic to assure no damage. They quickly moved everything to the new walk up in no time. The price and the service made moving painless. I highly recommend!

I had to have a movers accomodate me spur of the moment during the busiest season for movers. I could not get anyone to help. I called Oz and it was a pleasure working with them start to finish. They accomodated all of my needs, were on time! and very courteous. I HIGHLY recommend Oz moving - a cut above the rest!

The BEST!

I just wanted to take a moment to recognize the efforts of a few of your employees. We used your services (for the second time) to move my family from a third floor apartment to our new home 6 miles away. A few of your employees, were the lucky guys that got to carry our furniture down three flights of stairs. They did so with great care and speed. A couple pieces were quite heavy, but your men took it in stride and got the job done. They loaded our three bedroom apartment into the truck and then into our new home in less than 3 1/2 hours. They treated our furniture as if it were their own and did not damage anything. They should be commended for their work ethic. It is nice to know that there are still companies out there that care about customers and live up to their advertisements.

Great movers

I used the movers from Oz to move from my studio on the Upper West Side to Brooklyn recently and I was very pleased with their service and punctuality. They showed up on time and were fast and careful with moving my belongings. I will definitely use them again when I move in the future and would reccomend them to anyone looking for a professional moving company.

My brother recently hired this company to handle his girlfriend's move while she was away on vacation, which could have been extremely risky as she wasn't there to oversee things and my brother isn't so responsible, but putting the entire move in Oz' s hands was the best decision ever. They moved everything carefully and with no glitches so that when his girlfriend returned she walked into a finished situation rather than a nightmare. Now that they're married, she told me they're definitely using them again to move into their new home. Oz's not only protects your furniture, it protects relationships!

Used these guys for a quick move last week. They moved fast and did everything at the quoted price. If you are in a jam and need a mover that will help you move quick, Oz is the way to go. They also have storage available. Use them if you are in need!

My husband and I just moved to the upper west side last week from Brooklyn and using this company was the best choice I could of made. There services were very quick and they were very careful with everything. I've been a New Yorker all my life and I moved a lot in and out of the city and this moving service was the best I've every used.

Efficient and cost effective

I used OZ for to move from Boston back to NY and they really did such a great job that I had to write a review. I was very concerned that they may damage my gorgeous bedroom set but they moved it perfectly without even a scratch. I also couldn't believe how efficient they were. They weren't even very expensive compared to other movers. My move was seamless!

Of all the movers I have used over my time here in NYC, these are my faveorite. They make the move quick and easy and they always are careful with my goods. I will try to recomend these people to everyone. So far Oz has never let me down when it comes to moving.

I used oz some time ago but wante dto weigh in on this. they are quick and easy to work with. by far the best movers in the city in my experience. but why try anywhere else? they are inexpensive and kind. There was someone named carol (i think) that helped us and she was an angel.

I had a local move within the City. They came and moved me from the third floor (stairs only - no elevator). They showed up on time, were pleasant, and actually moved weights (ie, pumping iron weights) without complaint. Didn't charge a dime extra. I would use them again, and recommend them when someone says they're moving.

I was moving from Manhattan to Queens and Oz was the best! They moved everything carefully and made my moving expierence extremely less stressful. The prices are great and the movers where very nice and respectful. I recommend them to anyone who is moving!!

Great Mover

I have these 2 extremely large break fronts that i needed moved into my apartment. They weighed so much that i couldn't even pretend to lift one end. I called Oz Moving and hoped that they would be able to safety get these into my non-elevator apartment on the 4th floor! Not only did they get them in quickly, there was no damage, and no complaints!! They showed up when they said and the movers were both really nice about the ridiculous weight!! Great company will use them again when i move out.

My husband and I recently moved from downtown Manhattan to the Upper West Side and we used Oz--they were amazing!! Moving is usually a huge pain, but Oz did such a great job that I was surprised at how easy the move was. We will definitely use Oz in the future and I am also telling all of my friends about them! If you want your move to be as easy as possible, use this company.

Easy as Pie

I can not stress enough how stressful moving can be. Having to box everything up, hoping you dont break anything, hoping you find a few buddies that you can bride with beer to help you load stuff into a van that you are renting. Driving down narrow streets etc etc. Moving is time consuming stress but not this time. This time I decided to let a professional do it. A co-worker of mine recommended Oz and they couldn't have been more right. They boxed everything as if it was there own stuff and I knew my things were never safer in their lives. I finally got to sit back drink a beer and watch people moving my things without any worries. It was easy as pie. Anybody who has to move, do yourself a favor and call Oz. Let the pros do their thing.

Packed everything and did a great job, Was surprised at how good the customer service is with this company. Have had trouble with other moving companies but they were the best I have used so far. The elevator broke in our building and they guys used the stairs for three flights and did it with a smile. I heard no complaints from them at all they just said we will use the stairs and did not break anything, I was impressed. Awesome dude peach out EIEIO LMFBEricisawanker.

AMAZING MOVING EXPERIENCE

I am not big on writing recommendations or reviews, but I cant let this one go. I used Oz Movers over the week-end, and not only did they impress me, but also my neighbors that watched them. There were 4 young gentlemen that packed everything from books to fine china to my most valuable possessions. The men were so careful with my things, and even helped me arrange everything in the new apartment!!! I will definitely recommend Oz Movers to anyone looking to move. Even to my firm which will be relocating in the fall.

I have always had a fear with movers... they are responsible for all of my personal belongings.... but now I know that I don't have to worry anymore. Oz was a great find. They were extremely helpful from the time that I called them to the end of the move. They were very careful with all of my belongings and did everything in a timely manner. There were no hidden charges. I felt very comfortable using them and would reccomend their services to others.
