When I brought him in, the guy at the front desk barely said a word. He didn't make any effort to pet or say hello to my dog. \r

I have taken my dog to Pets at Play for over a year now. I am a professional dog trainer and I know how well they take care of my dog. The staff is amazing - when I bring in my dog he goes straight for them and they give him a big hug

Not recommended. My dog was injured there twice and the staff claimed they did not know what happened.
1. The dog's ear was ripped and they did not tell me. Noticed it when I took the dog home and had to go to emergency for stitches.

Beware! horrible owner! Great workers horrible owner.\r
Referring to "the guy" as a business owner is horrible insult to anyone who runs a small business.\r
The owner is rude and unprofessional . The workers are great but I have no idea

We've been bringing our puppy here since the day she got her final vaccinations. My husband and I walked her over from the vets office as we were anxious to socialize her from the beginning. To say our dog is active and in need of exercise

Unprofessional! I filled out a form to enroll my dog in doggy daycare on Monday morning, but still had not heard anything by Wednesday midday. I gave Pets at Play a call and was told that they could not accept my dog without a four hour

We have used Pets At Play 3 times and have been completely satisfied with the job.
They take the best care of our pup and always remember him by name. Our pup gets excited when he turns the corner to the store and when we drop him off he's so thrilled he doesn't even look back at us to say goodbye!

We don't know what we would do without Pets at Play

Our experience with Pets at Play has always been great. We started bringing Lina two years ago. We loved the staff and the facility immediately.

We love it that Pets at Play offer mobile daycare service when they pick up and drooping off the dog. They pick up Lina at 7:30am and drooping her off at 7pm. They are very responsible, always make sure that Lina has water, the AC is on, the Light is on and of course always leave the keys with the doorman. I feel safe when Pets at Play staff taking care of Lina.

I love Pets at Play and not sure if I could do it with out then and my crazy work schedule

At first we were hesitant to bring our puppy, Lucky, to day care, but bringing him to Pets at Play has been
a totally wonderful experience for all of us.

Lucky was shy with other dogs when we first got him, but now he is very well socialized and ready to play with just about anyone.

The staff are responsible, caring, and fun-loving.
We feel very comfortable leaving Lucky in their care.

It gives me great peace of mind to know Lucky is well cared for there, I have recommended Pets at Play to all of my dog-owning friends.
Thak You Peta at Play for taking care our baby!

Pets At Play is my dog's heaven on earth! We have to avoid it when on walks in the neighborhood if he's not going there otherwise he tries to pull us there.
While the owner seems a little rough around the edges, once you get to know him, he's a big teddy bear and always wants what's best for the dogs. The staff is friendly, knowledgeable and loves your dogs just like you if you were there. They separate them by size and temperment and even keep track of which dogs like to play with each other so they can have playdates there.
When my boyfriend and I moved in together, we stayed in Manhattan mainly for Pets at Play.
If I can't be with my dog, there is no place else I'd rather have him be!

My two-year old mix Curtis (who is friends with Brooklyn!) has been going to Pets at Play for the past year. My dog is completely A.D.D. with limitless energy, but after a day of boarding (or daycare) Curtis comes home chill and relaxed. It's kind of a miracle. The individual attention Greg, Emmanuel and the crew give the dogs is unmatched in the city. Trust me -- this is like the fifth dog daycare we've tried. As soon a we turn the corner, Curtis starts wagging is entire butt because he's so excited to get to Pets at Play. The staff is lovely, the location is convenient and the attentiveness to the dogs is unparalleled. I wish they had online invoicing and reservations, but other than that -- it's damn near perfect.

My best friend, Scooby, has been going to Pets at Play for more than three years now. I did a lot of research before I brought him in, and I can attest that this is easily the best day care organization I've encountered. Now, Scoobs is generally ambivalent when it comes to other dogs, but when he sees one of his friends from Pets at Play, he howls and wags his tail like nobody's business. This is mostly because of the staff, and the way the organization is run Whereas, at most day care places I've seen, caring for other people's dogs is a McJob. They stick the dogs in a big room, and that's about the end of their involvement. At Pets at Play the staff really cares about, and loves the dogs, from the owner, Brandon, to the managers, to the daily staff. Pets at Play provides the little extra touches that just go to show how much more they care about their clients than most day care places. They separate the dogs into different play groups by not only size, but also temperament. They note which dogs get along with which other dogs, and which have problems with which. They have separate play rooms and rooms to rest (as opposed to "restrooms") for different groups at different times, and the dogs are ALWAYS under supervision. The facilities are clean, the floors of the playroom are covered in rubber so that the doggies' paws don't hurt, they are willing to make special accommodations for different dogs, and the staff never seems to have a bad day. Scooby always plays so much that he basically has to sleep through the next day or two. I cannot recommend Pets at Play highly enough.

Incidentally, if anyone wants to ask me and scoobs about p@p, I'm happy to talk to people. I'm at daveclay12 (at) gmail . And if you mention that Scooby's dad sent you, they'll give you a nice discount on membership and maybe a free day of day care, just to prove how much your dog will like it there. :)

Wow! I am mystified and more than a little suspicious of some of the comments on this site regarding Pets at Play. I have been taking my dog there for years and count myself a as very satisfied customer!

I don?t know how much experience the other posters have with dog care in this city, but compared to what I?ve seen, Pets at Play by far has the best reputation for putting the safety and comfort of their canine charges first. I personally would never entrust my pet to a dog walker. I mean, no offense, but do you really want to entrust your pet?s safety to an adult whose chief qualification is that they have a lot of free time during the day and they are ambulatory?

Yes, the owner has, shall we say, an outside personality. So what? I?m not paying for a buddy or counselor, but a professional. I also find that when it comes to pets, some people are amazingly cheap and less than clearheaded about what it takes, and costs, to run a fully staffed, professional pet care business. These are usually the same folks that think every scratch and sniffle their pet exhibits must be anyone?s fault but their own.

I, for one, am more than happy that people with these mindsets aren?t bring their toxic energies and attitudes to the place I trust, Pets at Play.

There. Now I feel better.

I have brought my dog to a couple of doggy day cares and this is by far the worst place. This place is extremely disorganized and the owner and manager are extremely rude. When I went to pick up my dog, I had to wait 15 minutes and they had no idea which dog was mine. My dog was then sick for 2 days after being there 24 hours. When I got my credit card bill, there were all of these extra fees that no one could explain to me. I was told I would get a credit for these extra fees but never did. The owner was so rude when I asked him about it. If they treat the owners so poorly, I wonder how they treat the dogs. If you love your dogs, don't bring them here. I would rather cancel a vacation then ever bring my dog here again.

I agree with first reviewer 100%. The owner of this place is sooo rude! He knows he's the only game in this neighborhood and really takes advantage. I've stopped going to them and instead walk down to Paws in Chelsea. It's slightly inconvenient but the owner and everyone else who works there are professional and really take care of my dog - I don't worry at all about leaving him there. I wouldn't recommend Pets at Play to anyone. Find a dog walker instead - use one of the college kids from John Jay or Fordham - money better spent.

I've had the unfortunate experience of needing to use Pets at Play several times since they opened in the neighborhood a few years ago either due to a sick dog walker or working long hours. For a while I even used them regularly for daycare and my dog was sick constantly until I pulled him out.

The owner of this establishment is constantly raising prices and changing the 'pick up rules'. If you call to have your dog picked up or walked for 8am, you are LUCKY if someone comes by 10 or 11am and that's only after you've called 3x and have dealt with the annoyed owner or associate on the other end of the line. No one has ever called in advance to let me know they would be late, and when I've called no one has ever said "I'm sorry for the inconvenience" or any such thing. The only response is 'yeah, we're sending someone over now'. Rude does not begin to describe the service, and unreliable is an understatement. I would never recommend using these people to take care of your beloved pet.

There are plenty of other services and dogwalkers in the neighborhood who can take care of your dog with a bit of professionalism and courtesy. Two thumbs down for this overpriced, overhyped dog run.
