The food at Ichi Ro is edible, but that may depend on the night. I've eaten ua few times and sometimes it's decent, others I can barely finish. This goes double for the sushi. The prices are reasonable if you're willing to take the risk of whether you'll get a good dinner or not, and they deliver.

Very poor service. I went there for a leisurely dinner, but left aggrevated and disappointed...The sushi was average - you can find at least 3 better and cheaper places within a block radius i.e. ging on 3rd, etc. I felt very rushed throughout the meal - the waitresses were literally breathing down our necks and i had barely put down my chopsticks, when one of them cleared the table and brought the check...we were literally there for 28 minutes...If I wanted fast food I would have swung by Go Sushi up the street...Don't bother.

Pros: none

Cons: pretty much everything....including the rice - it's supposed to be STICKY, so you don't lose half of your roll before it even hits your mouth...

To start, they give you a hot moist towel to cleanse your hands, which was delightful. To end, they give you orange and pinapple slices. In between, they give you sushi that's fresh & fairly good. For the price it's a great deal, and I'm particularly fond of going in for lunch, when they offer those box specials, which in this case provide both soup and salad with an entree for practically nothing. I also like going in when it's less crowded because they service you to the extreme (though not pushy). Pretty much as soon as I finished my soup the other night, the gal was approaching to clear it away, with a smile at that. I've never been there when it was very busy so not sure how that works. The other downside is they close between lunch and dinner so if you come at the wrong time, you'll have to search for sushi elsewhere. Definately a great neighborhood spot to know about. Not sure if I'd travel more than 10-15 blocks out of range to get there, but I am a semi-regular for a reason.

Pros: service, value

Cons: sporadic hours

The fish is extremely frest at this UES sushi house. There are some creative combinations, but their real strength lies in the traditional rolls. The service is not the best but their delivery is speedy.
