This place is absolutely distasteful. A group of my friends, 5 of us went here for a night out to smoke some hookah. I've done this plenty of times, but my friend wanted to try this place he often came to. First off all the waiter was rude, couldn't really explain much to us about what the Viagra hookah was. The hookah was decent but the prices were highway robbery. We bought 2 hookahs for the five of us, which was fine, that total came up to $50, then 5 waters, what place charges $4 for waters??!?! That's absolutely dreadful, and we're not even at a baseball stadium to justify a typical $1 bottle of Poland spring water that was not cold. So far our bill total is 70, then the additional taxes which was $7, and a service charge of $14, with a grand total of $91. Why were we charged $108?!??! I think they thought because we were college students we wouldn't look at the bill? But this place is absolutely a rip off with how expensive everything is. I would not recommend it, not at all, not ever! Not ever again! Save your time and money! It's not worth for what you're paying. Check out a real hookah bar Fayrooz Cafe in Astoria or ANY other hookah bars around the area. Also the seats were not cozy who has benches with small pillows? Talk about back pains after leaving.

This is really the place to go when you're just looking for a good night with friends sitting around a Hookah chilling. Nothing more relaxing, and I do it a lot. And this is definitely one of the top places in the city to go. Make sure to bring some friends, and you'll have a night to look back on for a while.

Before going to cozy, I have decided to go over the reviews on city search. I have heard so many good things about cozy cafe for a few years, but never got the chance to go. So, despite the few negative reviews I have decided to go there and try it out. I went there last Saturday with a group of 12 people. Saturday at cozy is very busy and fun. One of the owners, the woman, took care of our group. She treated us very nice. She gave us a very good service and didn't rush us anywhere. We have stayed there for about 2 hours. We ordered a few of the viagara hookahs, and Stella's specials, drinks and deserts. The bill came out to be fair for everything that we ordered for 12 people. There was a belly dancer there at the time that we were there, and it was so much fun. My friends and I have enjoyed our experience at cozy cafe, and we'll definitely go there again soon. I highly recommend going there to experience the cozy and fun atmosphere at cozy cafe.

Cozy's is a good hookah place if you don't know any better. Once upon a time, they were a customer oriented, friendly establishment. But soon, in part bc of super young kids [people who are are clearly 16,etc.] and maybe local students?, Cozy changed its ways. It's uptight, unfriendly mom-ager [the owners wife?] is there constantly, literally policing everyone adn every action. They changed their policies from however many hookahs you want, for however long you wanted to stay, to however large you wanted your group to 2 hookahs/couple [I mean... 4 people are in no way gonna need TWO hookahs between them-- thats rather excessive], to time limits and being rushed, etc. I once even made them refund part of my bill for rushing me and my friends out. I'd been going to Cozy for over 5 years and even established a bit of repoire with them but will never support them again. There are a TON of equally as great, cheap places on the same street [all up and down 1st avenue/LES/alphabet city ] who will treat customers with respect and appreciation. It's sad to see a fun, small, family owned establishment turn into a monster. Popularity really go to this place's head. It's no longer fun. Save yourself the trouble and head to Karma around the corner or Babe's or Horu's ... really.

If you are passing through the city for sometime or you live in the city, Cozy Cafe is a stop you will never forget. The atmosphere is up-beat but relaxing. Music is diverse, up-to-date and never stops. If your looking for a nice stress free time Cozy Cafe is where you would go. A diamond in the rough, memories you will never forget.
The hookahs are one of the best I have ever had the pleasure to stumble upon. I would recommend ordering White Grape with Blueberry. The food is great! I would suggest ordering the chicken with cheese wrap.

Dont go here, they are over priced and charged us 50 bucks to use the hookah for 30 mins and made us buy water for each of us and charged us 4 dollars. STELLA is not nice person, she is the owner or main staffed person, stay away from this,., I would recommed Leseuk harem in west village ( 5 stars to this place) worth every dime,

We went there last Saturday for the first time and were quite impressed with the service. My friends and I prefer crowded places to hangout, so it was definitely a good choice. For those of you who don't like crowded places they have a beautiful back room (moroccan room) for chilly evenings. The staff was very friendly. The DJ even played our favorite songs from our ipod. We were invited to come back on a weekday for a free hookah. Weekdays there are considered to be Monday through Thursday

Cozy Cafe is one of the chillest loungest in Nyc. The name Cozy fits the Lounge perfectly because of its relaxing, low light, and warming atmosphere. The service is good and the staff is very attentive. The prices are very affordale and they range anything from 15 dollars for a hookah; which taste amazing, by far the best Hookah I have ever smoked. SO if youre ever near 1st street and 2nd Ave make sure t stop in for a Visit :)

Went there last nite with a couple of friends. Its very tight and small, the host was nice but that's about it. The server we had was very very rude! He only seem to be nice towards the white ppl. Don't be upset about what I just wrote but its true. But besides that, the hookah was great! It had me forget all about the rude waiter. The music was cool, it was a mix of different things. Nd the ppl were great, nice and relax. Besides everything I would go back for the cheap hookah nd chicken wrap.

P.S they do check ID and they only sell beer or wine that's it.

Cozy cafe is exactly what the name says, the cozy little gem hidden away on 1st Lower East Side. Cozy has every thing you could desire. Excellent food a great wine and beer selection and hookah that will have you coming back day after day. The key beauty in cozy cafe is the staff they are always playing the hippest music , suggesting the best hookahs, and keeping the atmosphere entertaining and relaxing. The variety of hookah at cozy cafe creates near endless new flavors to try that go with its excellent environment. You can make your cozy experience unique to you just by calling ahead and reserving a spot for you and your friends. Or you can just head over there and enjoy a hookah in the company of cool people, great music, and an experience that you will be talking for a long while.

i honestly head to cozys almost every night after work or class. the weekdays are not crowded, the atmosphere is nice and relaxing especially after a days work. the staff here are friendly and accommadate your every needs. on the weekends it gets pretty crowded and every friday and saturdays there is a personal dj playing bomb music and caters to different taste (house, techno, hiphop,r&b, and etc) i definitely rate this place 4 stars and recommend everybody to check it out :)

If you are in the mood to have a fun, chilled out night, this place is ideal during the week. It becomes more lively on the weekends, however it is still a lot of fun.

Crazy expensive and they FORCE you to order. Some hookahs were like 30bucks, and make sure you check your billl...they tack on extra fees and items!!!!!\r
\r
I came here with about 20 friends on a Friday night, they forced me to order stuff that I really didn't even want.....\r
\r
After that they kept sneakily picking up hookahs while we were still smoking and rushing us out!!!\r
\r
At the end of the night, our bill came out to be about 620 dollars but the service was HORRIBLE...they literally kicked us out despite ordering so much!

I LOVE Cozy Cafe! The staff is super friendly and always have good suggestions for the hookah flavors. I highly recommend you try it out. Besides the great hookah, Cozy has great food. I highly recommend the kofta and the lamb. And the hummus is unusually good. Also, I really like the sangria. It doesn't taste just like pure juice; you can actually taste the wine in it. Cozy Cafe always has a great crowd, no matter what night of the week it is and there's also a outdoor patio in the back which is great when the weather is nice. Fun place to go if you are a local or just visiting the city. And the prices (food, drink and hookah) are very reasonable.

The place "Cozy's" says it all. Far from being just a typical hookah bar, Cozy's affordable, comfortable, and welcoming. I have been to Cozy's several times which each experience is quite different with many creative flavors and bases to choose from. Although Friday nights and weekends are quite packed, the waiters still seems to accompany each and every needs and wants to the customers. The setting is great with traditional middle eastern hookahs and lively music of all kinds. I guarantee you will have a fun and exciting time. For large groups, I suggest calling in for reservations before going, but the wait is not that long from 5-10 minutes.

It's a great place not only because of their great hookahs but mostly because of their really cozy, warm, and 1sexy1 atmosphere. However, if you dont like crowds, loud music, and rushing then go there during the week day, since Fridays and Saturdays there are extremely busy days.
The good thing is also their not expensive prices. Price of a hookah is just 15 dollars.

Dropped by with a few buddies early on a Saturday evening (~10PM). We had to wait a minute before being seated in their backyard garden area. The crowd was certainly interesting and seemed to be enjoying themselves. Our waiter, Ali, made sure were catered to well, and made sure the coal was kept fresh. The cheaper shisha is alright, but if you want the most value for your buck, you should go for the slightly more expensive ""Al Fakher"" branded hookahs that come in fruit bowl. Overall, a pretty nice Hookah lounge with decent service and fair prices.

If you read the two reviews before this one you can see they are the same but with different names. I beleive this is a scam to get people to go here.\r
I went to this place on saturday and it was nothing like the reviews said it would it was actually the total opposite. The hookahs are nasty the service is terrible and it is over priced. if you go to this place you can see it for your self. \r
If you order something half the staff does not speak english and they do not understand you. You have to keep on repeating yourself until they ask someone else for help. Go to a different place where you are not over paying and being scammed.

If you order something half the staff does not speak english and they do not understand you. You have to keep on repeating yourself until they ask someone else for help. Go to a different place where you are not over paying and being scammed.

Pros: scam

Cons: scam

Best Hookah bar in New York City, No Best hookah bar in New York State. This place has the most amazing service, the most creative and best tasting hookahs ever. No hookah bar can top their tuti-fruity hookah (my personal favorite). Also the service is amazing, the waiters treat you with respect and give you anything that you need. It is also a reasonable price. If your looking for the best Hookah bar in New York City, Cozy Cafe is the best! Best of luck to Cozy Cafe :]

Being an avid hookah smoker, finding the best place to smoke in new york city was very easy! \r
\r
Cozy cafe has the full middle eastern style hookah service - from the best and most creative hookahs, (including ones made out of pineapples, gresh grape tobacco, liquor based filters etc) to the best middle eastern food. Their hummus is simply great, their feta spreads and sandwiches are a great value.\r
\r
In addition, the lounge has 5 different ambience seating - a bar, outside seating, an intimate cozy backroom, and two main areas. Each with its own significant feel that can cater to any mood. \r
\r
All in all, a great place to

I was in town on a Sunday night with a friend looking to check out hookah places for my birthday and I was looking forward to checking out Cafe Khufu, but when we got there, they were closed. So since I had a coupon to Cozy Cafe, we decided to check it out. It's a pretty typical hookah place; it's small but dark with plush decor and red lighting and a flat-screen tv playing Arabic music videos. It wasn't too busy, so we were seated right away. However, we were seated at the very back right underneath the ventilation system, and it was freezing. Not very cozy for its name, but understandable.

They had a pretty interesting menu, with all the typical flavors and drinks you would expect from a moderately upscale hookah place. However, the two things that stuck out for me were the strangely-named ""Viagra Hookah"" which the ""Shock Hookah.' The first used wine instead of water in the hookah vase, and the second apparently used liquor. We ordered a viagra hookah with watermelon shisha, even though my friend was still weirded out by the name. Our mint teas were served quickly, but mine arrived in a leaky teapot, and it was a chore pouring it. I opted to not drink it and instead let it sit prettily on my table.

When the hookah arrived, the first thing I noted was the pineapple on top. When I looked around I saw that everyone else had melon or some other type of fresh fruit-halves on top of their hookahs as well. I thought that was kinda cool. Our mouthpieces didnt fit over the hose, and they were pretty opposed to us smoking ""unprotected"", so they took one of ours and held it over a flame and stuck it on until the melted plastic couldnt come off. I couldn't tell whether our hookah was really filled with wine or not since they used an opaque vase, and I couldnt really taste a difference either. We couldn't really make any heavy smoke clouds or exhale O's since we were right below the fan, but I did get a good buzz after awhile. I'm not sure if it might have been caused by either the supposed wine or the nicotine content of the shisha. I'm used to smoking either herbal or low-nic shisha so that was a bit of a different experience for me.

When it came time for the bill, I showed our waiter my coupon but he had no idea what it was. He showed it to the owner, who personally came over to us to thank us for coming and that he hoped to see us again soon. I had gotten the coupon from this website for 10% off our bill, but the owner went a step further and slashed a $45 bill to $30, which is a HUGE DISCOUNT. I think he realized that if I gotten it from here, I must have read all those not-so-great reviews and he was probably trying make a positive impact. He was pretty nice when I asked him about having a party at his place, and although I admit I was skeptical when I first walked in, I didn't have a bad experience there at all. I still want to check out other hookah places around the city before I book a party but I wouldn't rule out the coming back here with friends.

It's a nice place to be in, but as usual, the hookah is expensive. They have a nice selection of wines as well.

I visited this small spot this past weekend for some fun. When we initially got there, we had to wait but for only like 5 mins. The guy who looked like a bouncer was very nice (you wouldn't of guessed when you first saw him). The party on the first very table right near the entrance left so they sat us down right in front of the door (which I wasn't that happy) but never been here so I wasn't going to be fussy. We had two more friends joining us so the seats were left unoccupied. We got our drinks right away and our hooka (watermelon). Everything was great until this one grease ball worker (big time loser) told us if our friends don't show, they are going to give the seats up to somebody us. Totally understandable as the crowd kept getting bigger and bigger. I couldn't believe the amount of traffic coming in and out of this place! It was a bit annoying since we had the first table, the people kept leaving the door open so my wife and I were freezing a good part of the night. Going back to this grease ball, I told him to give my friends another 5 mins. So after, 15 or 20 mins, they showed up and sat with us. Everything was cool again until grease ball was going to kick us out unless we ordered two more hookahs. We were given our bill but we weren't done. They told us it was a misunderstanding so I ordered another hookah anyways (told us after 1/2 hour, hookah was no good and had to get a new one). I thought that was false because at the hookah bar me and my wife usually go to, we had the same hookah the whole night and here we are for an hour and a half and they tellin us to buy another hookah?? Seems like a scam. So going back to this grease ball, he was going to kick out another party. I don't know what the hell was wrong with this guy! If I was to go back, which most likely I won't is because of this ""grease ball""!! Can't find a better word to describe him. Overall, good experience, but it only takes one person to ruin it.

I love Cozy. The service is always excellent, everyone is always friendly and no matter what day you go be prepared to have a good time. I've met many great new people here who are now friends of mine. \r
\r
They only accept cash but don't worry because they have an ATM machine. \r
\r
The music is always diverse and it's loads of fun to get up and shake your thing with the belly dancer.

We went to this bar on Saturday and i sat in the back yard and the service was amazing. First of all we walked in this place and the bouncer at the door which was a nice guy got me a seat ASAP. Eventhough me and my friends were outdoor the waiter (bawer) in the back yard was adorable and made us feel welcome. He made funny comments and treated us with respect. The service was great and we had the Knock Me Out hookah and it was amazing. the shakes in this place were also great. When you go to this place ask for Bawer and he would take care of you. Best Place i have been to in a long time

We went there last Saturday for the first time and were quite impressed with the service. My friends and I prefer crowded places to hangout, so it was definitely a good choice. For those of you who don't like crowded places they have a beautiful heated backyard for chilly evenings. The staff was very friendly. The DJ even played our favorite songs from our ipod. If you're there ask for TITO, he's the nicest. We were invited to come back on a weekday for a free hookah. Weekdays there are considered to be Monday through Thursday.

this saturday was the first time i went to this place and i was amazed. The people were friendly and the music was Ok. I enjoyed the music but there was a little bit to much Arabic music. Once you asked the DJ for some R&B he would say yes but never put it. besides the DJ everything else was pretty interestingand new. There was alot of hot girls for those single guys and alot of guys for those single girl. i guarantee that if you come here you would meet that special someone. great place
