Skintology Laser Hair Removal Spa

I love Skintology! Two thumbs up! I live in Maryland and come at least once every six months to this amazing place to unite body and soul and pamper myself ? I do laser skin treatment, massage, hair cut, facial, manicure and pedicure during my visit- after my friend?s referral two years ago. I would love to try the eyelash extension. The artistic design creates a unique atmosphere of tranquility in the spa. Along with the professionalism of the staff all this works as narcotics. You just want to come again and again. The result of their work is truly amazing. My skin returned its translucency, freckles are almost gone. A magnificent place. I wish we had our own Skintology spa in Maryland.

I was very surprised to read such a negative review on Skintology and its great staff and therefore have some comments to share. Beauty is something that nature gives you or forgets to give you creating some imperfections and anxieties. Fortunately, people found their ways how to trick the nature. BUT. All these procedures are very invasive and risky. Even for top celebrities. Have you ever seen woman?s face destined to-be-beautiful immediately or a few days after the plastic surgery? It takes weeks and months to heal before Cinderella turns into Princess. Do they all threaten and sue their doctors for not seeing miracle the next day they wake up in horrible pain with swollen unrecognizable faces for many days?
They do cry and regret? And, obviously, they take an annual leave for a week or two? It is hard to understand why would people undergo laser treatment right before their wedding? You burn your skin to shed off in order to reveal a new rejuvenated baby skin underneath. There is no miracle here. The skin will be red, brown and burned for a while before you become beautiful and social again. This is a price for The Beauty. Of course, some people from the law firm may decide to take advantage to outsmart The Nature and caregivers simultaneously and get $500 back. It is a matter of taste, as always

I wanted to get eyelash extensions for my wedding in September so I thought of Skintology immediately. I have gotten facials, massages, waxing, etc here and knew that this is the place to go to be pampered. Yulia was the technician who took care of me for almost 3 hours! I thought it would be difficult to sit still through the 3 hour process but instead it was relaxing. Yulia explained everything that she was doing and when it was all over & I looked in the mirror, I was amazed! My wedding pictures look amazing and I felt wonderful on my wedding day. I highly recommend using Yulia and Skintology for eyelash extensions and for any/all of your beauty needs!

The people there really treat you right. The whole spa is really quiet, so you definitely feel relaxed. If you want to relax after a long day + look good visit Skintology. Beautiful decorations, relaxing tretments, professional staff. What else can you ask for?

I have been to countless Spas in the tri-state area, experimenting with different styles of facials for my difficult and stubborn unhealthy skin. Not only did Skintology create a noticeable difference after my first visit, it was clear (pun intended) that once I walked through the door I was going to return. I was suddenly sedated by the atmosphere of the Spa and forgot that I was in the city at all. As for the facial, the textures and smells that saturated my skin.. I felt like an Egyptian God! I strongly encourage anyone and everyone to go to Skintology and experience what I had, you will not be sorry. I also just recently decided to try something new and got Eyelash Extensions for the first time. It takes about three hours but the result is the definition of perfection. I no longer have to put on any makeup because my eyes look ten times bigger than I imagined. Skintology does wonders! I have had multiple technicians at Skintology and I honestly cannot decide who is better than the rest because they are all so skilled and talented! Keep up the good work!

I am very surprised at the bad reviews about this Spa.I usually get a facial with microdermabrasion,laser hair removal ans sometimes mani/pedi.I live in LA and come to New York to get my skin cleaned up and for laser treatments and it is worth it! Services are great, all people who work there are nice.The front desk girl Shanty is sweetheart. Even though i come once a month she remember my name and my life stories:).SKINTOLOGY spa-is my new best friend!!!!!

I got a photo facial at Skintology a few months ago and am still furious over their service and treatment of me afterwards. I went in with a clear complexion for a photo facial in preparation for my wedding-just a freshener. I came out with a purple cheek that eventually turned into black burn blisters and flaked off (ONLY after my dermatologist told me it was a bad burn and gave my very strong-and expensive-prescription strength cream).

During the session, one part of my face got very hot and I told the technician to stop. It seemed as if that part had been lasered with a more intense pulse of light and did not stop burning for hours. She put some ice on it and sent me home, telling me to get some burn cream at the pharmacy.

When I went to talk to the manager the next day, she was dismissive and had me schedule a face massage or something useless. I could not go to work, I could not go out in public and missed some significant events because of this humiliating burn. I had to send a threatening letter from the law firm I work at in order for them to refund my $500.

When I went to my dermatologist he was amazed because he had another patient come in with a very similar burn to mine on her legs from laser hair removal. He said she was distraught and crying. He asked where I had mine done and, when I told him Skintology, he said that is where the other patient had also gone. When I reported this to Skintology in the hopes of alerting them not to continue using that laser and/or that technician on other patients, I was flatly ignored.

I went for a facial last night and I had such a wonderful experience! I've been to many spas and worked in the industry for years. I was so pleased with my entire experience at Skintology. My technician, Olga, was fantastic! She was so relaxing and i left with my skin glowing. She didn't even try to upsell me- which to me, can sometimes make a relaxing experience awkward. She was honest with me and gave me great advice for my skin. I was the last appointment and no one rushed me out- my appointment actually ran 5 minutes over! The staff was also so pleasant and nice. I really enjoyed my facial and can't wait to go back!

As far as I remember I always hated the two light scars on my dark skinned leg. I thought everybody is staring at them. I tried few things over the years but nothing made a bit of difference until a few weeks ago when I read something about the scar camouflage. After some research and a few consultations I decided on Skintology. Yvegeny was very patient and deliberate at consultation, and simply amazing at covering my scars. Believe it or not she made them disappear. Just like magic...

I had lash extensions applied last week, and I must warn you that they are definitely not worth it! First, they are not much different from the individual lashes you can buy at CVS for $5, and at a price of $400 you will kick yourself after (I have already done so). The process itself takes at least 3 hours, and I had hoped that once I got up from the table I would be wowed with the results. Not so ... In fact I was extremely disappointed with the finished look. It doesn't look terrible, but I could have applied the lashes from the drugstore myself with not much of a different outcome. The service at Skintology is excellent ... the technicians are very sweet and professional, and I haven't tried any other services there, but as far as the eyelash extensions go, do not waste your time or your money! As I originally thought, this is a fad that will disappear as quickly as it came ... I would not recommend this even if you have the money and time to spare

I called to find out how much a laser treatment is and learn a little about it, once i called and asked, the woman on the phone didn't even know what she was talking about. she told me the price is depended on what color skin you have and how much hair you have, THE PRICE SHOULDN'T CHANGE FOR WHAT COLOR SKIN YOU HAVE. and after i was about to ask another question, she just hung up the phone while i was talking. After all day of running all around New York, I was very tired and me and my husband decided to relax in a nice place . My husband and I went to Skintology Spa on the recommendation of my mom and it was absolute perfection!!!

I had very clogged ears and My friend recommended to visit Skintology.When i called the receptionist was very nice and never rushed me.I asked a couple questions and got from her different options.I made an appointment for EAR CANDLING.Upon my arrival the receptionist ShAntiel knew my name.While i was waiting,i looked around and was very impressed by decorations (fresh flowers,nice chairs,clean floors,food for client).My technician Diane took me to the big and nice room.Before she start, Diane explained the procedure,asked me a couple question.In a beggining i was a little nervous,because a thought this procedure is painfull,but is wasn't. She put a candle on my ear and did a massage .It felt very relaxing. Music was also very calm. I almost fall asleep. After the procedure she cut a candle and i saw my wax. This treatment helped me a lot.Now i can hear better,i don't feel any clogges and problems with my ear. :)

I want to share my experience with people who searching for good services. I find a best place for myself and my mom. I think everyone before visiting a place they do researches,read reviews, That's why i'm writing this review by highly recommending this spa for laser tretments. I went for free consultation and got a whole information about laser tretment. My technician was very knowledgeble and explained everything. It was very convinient location,clean and very beautiful rooms, polite and nice front desk girls. They use medical grade machines,they even have a doctors there.I bought a package of half arm(buy 6 get one free),and second package of fulla leg for 50% off. So far i seen very good results. VIsit Skintology,very professinal staff,best results, and comfortable location.

I am writing this for everybody who is planning to go to skintology after reading their 73 reviews. Please don't even try to go there. I am saying this because I made an appointment for eye brow tatoo removal, went there and have the most horrible experience. Receptionist made me feel so uncomfortable and she was staring at me like I came from planet mars. On the top of that the lady who explained me about tatoo removal don't even bother to come close to me and look at my face. How can you decide by looking at somebody at the end corner of the room that she need six or seven laser treatment. She gave me two mins and explained me whole procedure and then look at me like saying now get lost you want it or not dont waste my time. I want to ask her more question but I change my mind by the look on her face. You will not believe that I will never go there and not even recommend anybody because you want to feel comfortable, especially when you are going for laser treatments. You want them to answer all your question, look at your problems and probably suggest you something else. But there it was not like that.

I have never taken the time to write a review about anything in my life before. However, my facial was so bad, I feel compelled to write a review here. The skin technician never once told me what she was slathering on my face, what she was doing, etc. I felt uncomfortable asking because she was definately not very personable. I went here because it was cheaper compared to other places I was looking at, but when it comes to skin I would recommend spending a little more and going to a more legitimate place with a better reputation. I honestly dont know how this spa made it as one of the top on citysearch. maybe the only things the spa is decent at is eyebrows and laser removal- because the facial was definately awful. I was actually hoping it would end quickly so I could leave. Would never consider going back.

I have been using their service for hair removal on the face and have seen no results in the past one year. If anything, the hair growth has increased because of the continuous shaving. Maybe its because I'm Indian and their treatment is not for my skin type. And the service in this center is pathetic!

I decided to visit Skintology after reading all the good reviews. And i am really glad i did it . I live on 22st and 6 av and i always walked by this spa.I tried a lot of spas in NYC-some of them ok,some good,some so-so,some just awful, but Skintology one of the best.!!!! It's very big SPA : 2 floors,they have a sauna, shower room,locker room.I have had almost everything in Skintology. It was the most unbelievable experience ever! Couple months ago i went to get a facial. The facial was super relaxing and left skin feeling fresher and awesome. Usually i get my facial with Rachieel(she is the BEST)...,but on Friday she was off.And i had my facial with Christine.She is amazing!!! She knows a lot about skin. After facial my skin looked 100 times better after just 1 facial. It was no sales pressure- just GREAT services!!!! You start to relax,as you walk through the door!!!!! i recom. to visit this SPA....!!!!

I went to skintology to remove hair on my legs. Spa is beautifully decorated and very clean. I had 3 sessions and all my hair is gone. Technicians were all very good - professional, courteous, and knowledgeable. I remember their names: Eve, Laura, and Olga. I recommend all of them. My favorite was Laura. I have also tried microdermabrasion twice already with Laura and Rachel - both are very very good. I have also had numerous facials done there. I am a regular customer now and recommend this place to all my friends. Everyone in the spa starting with receptionist and ending with the owner are very nice. I go to Skintology to relax and look good. And I always do look good after their treatments.

I have been to many laser centers in NY,California even in Evrope. I wanted to get rid of hair in my bikini erea.I got treatments in California. And i was very upset,because i didn't see any difference after 8 sessions. I believe a lot of women want to get rid of hair,especially in bikini erea. i tried Skintology.i called there,girl in a phone was very nice with me.She gave me a lot of information about laser treatment. Right away made an appointment. I went there,place was very clean,beautiful decorations and quiet(not like in Chinese place). The staff was very professional. i can say that in Skintology works only professional people. I felt like i'm a V.I.P guest. Smiley Technicians was in a pretty white dresses.My technician spent around 20-25 minute with me.She told me that they using a new machine that i had not seen anywhere else.This is first time after all my researches I can really say that SKINTOLOGY one of the best Spa that i ever tried.And you know, i even was allowed to go into the sun and still get amazing results. You have to visit this place. You will be happy.It's very lovely place. They are always busy and i know why...:)))

While searching for a place for laser treatments I selected half a dozen of medical spas and scheduled consultations in each one of them. Some where more competent than others, but nobody spent as much time and thoroughly answered all my questions as laser specialist at Skintology. But price was another consideration. Here Skintology wasn't the cheapest, but not the most expensive as well. Rather in the middle. Individual treatments a bit more while the packages significantly less than others. I purchased 2 Laser Hair Removal packages, taking advantage of multi-package discount. So far, after 3 treatments the results are even better than promised at the consultation. I guess they are following up on the "under-promise and over-deliver" concept laser specialists mentioned few times at the consultation.

Gina does absolutely amazing work. I researched the internet and decide to go with Skintology. I didn't want to go to any fly by night and get a botched up job. ( I lost my eyebrows to the shaved eyebrow rebellion of the "70"s) I didn't want anything that looked fake or weird. Gina advices on what color is best for you. I am so happy with the results. She makes hair like micro-pigmentation that fools everyone. My eyebrows look natural and I have no more fear of erasing them in the pool or beach or by accident. The price is so worth it. If you have any fears of pain. Fugetaboutit!! No pain. Gina is very sensitive to your needs and is a gem..
I also took my Aunt and she had her upper and lower eyelids permanent make-up. She is a chicken to pain (like who isn't?) and is so overpoyed with Gina as well.

Skintology SPA is aewsome!!! Getting on appointment was very easy and breeze,even on Sunday. You could even book your appointment online (LIFEBOOKER). I did a lot of looking around.Skintology,was the only place that fully explained all the pro's and cons of the treatment . You can also get a free consultation with laser technician. After only one treatment the worst of the in-grown hairs were gone. Skintology -very relaxing,professional,wonderful place. i can't wait to go back and take advantage of other services they offer!!!

I am very, very fair-skinned, and I'm new to the City, so I wanted to find someone to do eyebrow/eyelash tinting. They advertise on the website that their price is a combo for both together at $55, but in the end they charged me $70! She said it's because they used 2 different dyes, but who on earth would dye their eyebrows BLACK like they would for their eyelashes? Most people get that service because they're blonde, so it makes not sense to me. I've been to many places that do tinting, and they've never charged like that.

When I mentioned that to the receptionist, she rolled her eyes at me and ignored it. I will certainly not go back.

I was very excited to go to Skintology because of the reviews. I wanted photo laser therapy for skin rejuvenation. On the phone they told me I would get a consult with the owner to see what would be the best treatment for my skin. First, I waited 40 minutes at the reception, no apologies. The owner left the spa after I had waited for 30 minutes. Then one of her employees took me to a room and she almost started a laser treatment for hair removal .... Just before she started she asked: "hair removal right?" No! Don't need that! I want my skin to glow again, I want my fine lines to be gone. So, we went to another room for the photo laser therapy. During the 20 minute treatment I finally got some attention of the owner: she came in two times and yelled something at her employee and left again. After we were done, I paid $550 and it felt like the biggest rip-off I have had in 4 years Manhattan. Not even a tinkling skin after the treatment ... nothing, no result, no consult. So no consult AND a treatment by an unexperienced person for $550. Please do more research than I did and find yourself a really professional spa! There are many of those in the city.

Staff is friendly and professionally trained. Spa is very clean, decor is amazing. I had my facial done with Rachel. Excellent! Excellent! Excellent! Her hands are gentle and very soft, one of the best facials so far. Also Rachel answered all my questions about skin care and helped me to choose facial products suitable for my skin. I also had eyebrows done by Gina, who is a real ARTIST and did a great job! I left Skintology spa feeling really good and will definitly come back for more services.

I just had a procedure at this spa designed to reduce cellulite. Frst of all, it was completely comfortable and relaxing throughout. The terapist, Fanya, was very personable, thoroghly professional yet gentle in the way she performed the treatment. After the tretment I felt like a new me and now I cannot wait to go back for my next visit. Just one more thing - the entire atmosphere at this spa is so pleasant and comfortable that I wish I had more time to try other treatmets they offer. Maybe next time.

I try not to make rush decisions in general and particularly as painful as laser hair removal could be. I looked thru a few dozen spas providing the service and selected Skintology a boutique medical spa in Chelsea. And so far extremely happy with my choice. After the very first session I saw results. Even better after the second session. And more importantly, while being very thorough they made it pretty painless. I guess it was a combination of skills, patience and topical anesthetics . And lastly, I was very pleased that everybody at the spa was pleasant, helpful and extremely knowledgeable. It seems I've made the right choice!

After reading all the great reviews I decided to visit this place for hair removal which i have been wanting to do for sometime now. lets get the not so good out of the way first. The technician didn't speak much english at all which i have no problem with other then the fact you can't make me feel comfortable and knowledgeable in the area in which you are working since the communication has a barrier. i couldn't ask questions. . . or when i did i couldn't understand her, not even her name (which is maybe a good thing in this instance). She seemed hesitant with her body language, and a different woman came in at the beginning and the two of them proceeded to try to sell me an extra product (cost even more!)! which was very annoying especially because i KNEW i didn't need it, and then when checking out she tried to sell me a large package of more visits which was over a grand. . .she almost charged me for it without even ASKING ME FIRST! that was totally not ok. Now, as far as the procedure itself, it was fast and effective. It was a clean place.

The bottom line is....they seem to have good equipment but the customer service has to be worked on. We all choose our battles. Haven't decided if I will go back. It is important for me to be comfortable

Absolutely, I found skintology last year around my birthday which usually falls with the amazing Valentines specials, I went for a facial with Tatjana, loved it, I felt I could trust my face to her anytime, she didn't try to push anything neither a facial every week like I once heard else where (yeah! that was crazy) she recommended once every change of season for my skin would be great and I thought so too!!! so this year for my B-day my boyfriend got me the Chocolate body scrub, It was the best, how can I possibly describe being all covered up in organic chocolate, wrapped up in a thermal blanky,and then rubbed with those big soft puffy gloves??? Well you get the idea!!! My boyfriend had a very happy Valentine's date this year. To conclude this mini review, Amazing facials, incredible Body Scrubs, not too happy about overly price and nothing special manicure and pedicure, a little something else they should have shower caps and remove trash bins more often, buy after an amazing treatment who could really mind little details like that!
Finding a perfect spa is a little hard after many trials in NYC I found Skintology, I'm not going anywhere else. It is worth trying while specials are going on, that way you can get many great treatment for ridiculously inexpensive prices.

I have been going to Skintology for brazilian waxing with Rimma for a couple of years, now. Waxing is quick -- on average I'm out of that room in 10 mins or less -- and practically painless (ask for the wax for sensitive skin). Rimma is pleasant and makes you feel comfortable, plus she is very meticulous and truly cares that her work is done well.

First let me start off by just saying how amazing the decor of this place is. It just left me pleasantly surprised. It seems in a sort of way out of place being how the city is so noisy and full of comotion, but nce u enter those doors all of that is a fleeting memory and you are greeted by the sweet fragrance of the air along with the reason of my review. This radiant, full of smiles, insightful little gem named Chanty (hope that is how you spell her name). At first I was a bit hesitant to appraoch her being that she seemed so busy with the phones and customers trying to pay and others coming in, but she quickly finished all that. And with a smile from ear-to ear asked me if she could be of any assistance to me. I have been to quite a few spas but honestly Chanty has to be one of the friendliest and knowledgable front desk staff I have come in contact with in quite some time. There was no question that I asked her in which she did not have an answer for me. She was concise and straight to the point. Of course you are probably wondering why I am only writing a review on front desk like who cares....is what most fo you are thinking. But being that I did not get to have any setvices done I am writing on my expierence thus far and if the staff is anything like her I will become a loyal customer. She was also not just all about pushing services on me, which I just absolutely despise. She struck up a conversation with me and genuinely seemed to be interested in what I had to say. I also heard on my way out that she has quite some memory. I look forward to testing how true this is on my next visit. Hats off to Skintology in screening their employees thus far so well.

I got wax with Elena once and also i'm always getting my lashes done with Diana.my first visit was couple months ago.She did an amazing job! My lashes looks unbelieveable beautiful,full and natural! I never use mascara on it. every 3-4 week i'm coming for touch up.I highly recommend Skintology.

my experience wasn't what i expected. i had a $60 pedicure and a $25 manicure and although my manicurist was nice, i felt rushed. the pedicure i received is the same type of pedicure i can get from any other spa for $30. the nail polish took hours to really dry and by the time it actually did it had so many little dents in them that it looked like my little sister painted my nails. either the nail polish was old, or bad. overall, it wasn't worth the price i paid for the spa experience. you're better off going to a major chain salon that charges $30 for a pedicure which includes a quick foot massage and don't have to worry about making your appointment and/or being rushed because another customer with an appt. an hour after yours is early.

It is spa week and I chose this place due to their great reviews... to my surprise, the reviews were true! I had a great experience with their facial and the facialist laura was so very friendly. I plan to go more often from now on! Maybe because I went during early afternoon on a weekday, it was not busy which I LOVED! I won't be surprised if this place is booked during the weekends. Two thumbs up!!

One of the best acne facial i've had so far. My face felt clean and Tatyana did an amazing job making sure all my white heads were eliminated. It didn't hurt at all. She's a pro and i recommend her .

I have had manicure,wax,permanent make-up,eyelash extention.I went there to have my nails done.So,the manicure was so nice.Spa was very clean and music was so relaxing.Wax was painless.The staff was so helpful.Gina was my assistant for permanent make-up!!! the result was amazing!also she recommended for me to have my lashes done.Actually,i have very nice lashes,but i was so interested of that.Month ago i went there and Gina was my assistant for eyelash extenyion.It's take 3 hours,but result was Unbelieveable!!! After my assistant was Rachiel,now it's Diana.Now my lashes look so natural and gorgeous!!!!I'm very happy that i had my lashes done in "SKINTOLOGY". In a future i want to try facial or laser.I recommend anyone to visit "SKINTOLOGY".

2months ago i got married,before that my friend recommmended to visit Skintology,so i tryed this SPA! All employers was very nice with me!! i had facial,massage,ear candling,manicure,pedicure,in the end i decided get my lashes done!!! The person who did my lashes was very nice,music was very soft,room was very clean,i almost fall asleep,she explained to me everything,how i have to care of my lashes.Result was excellent!!! i'm very happy that i find this SPA!!!

I have been a Skintology client since the spa opened a few years ago. I have had facials, massages, waxing and manicure/pedicure services and they have all exceeded my expectations. I go on a weekly basis to get my nails done with Elena. The pedicure is very relaxing and clean, not like other places where they rush you out of there and skimp on the details. Elena is very thorough and she makes you feel completely comfortable. She uses many special techniques to remove calises and dry skin without using a razor. I highly recommend Skintology for mani/pedis and all of the other services too!!

Pros: nice staff, beautiful space, quality services

Cons: not open on sundays
