I recently ordered a cappuccino from the chelsea market location. Four bucks, fine. They won't make it dry, fine. They won't put a splenda in before the milk, fine. I respect rigor, and I couldn't wait for the coffee that justified such specificity.

Except the guy working the register forgot to tell the barista to make my drink. And then the cappuccino was...fair. Ironic that Intelligentsia roasts their coffee. Intelligentsia in LA is a fantastic coffee shop. Here in New York we have Joe (the art of Coffee), Cafe Grumpy, Via Quadronno...so many good coffee shops with superior quality AND service.

I felt like I'd been had - the typical 'tourist' who mistakes rudeness for quality. I guess I can chalk up your cappuccino to the cost of doing research.

Good yummy espresso. I used to be a barrista and thought it as good in there. Nice thick crema ontop of the americano. $2.50- can't argue with that. The lady that served us was really friendly. \r

Shame there were just wooden stools

This place really makes great espresso. They're very serious about it, maybe even too serious. Macchiatos, cappuccinos, lattes - whatever you want, all top notch.

There are tables inside and outside; it's a nice environment to casually sip on your caffeinated beverage while you're reading the paper.

dropped by with my honey after some savory gruppo pizza couple of days ago...we were in a bit of a rush so she ordered the macchiato, I the espresso. Asked for it to go and was given an unwarranted nasty lecture by the ill mannered

Pros: Hot customers

Cons: Attitudinal unsightly coffee jerkers
