This restaurant makes the best Indian food in New York! I used to order from this restaurant at least twice a week for about 2 months straight; I was addicted :) Their food is always fresh. When they deliver, they package everything so neat and sturdy. They wrap the plates with utensils all together with a plastic wrap so it doesn't fall out. There is also 3 different types of sauces they give in your delivery with your meal. I like that they aren't cheap. It's always the same great service. I became such a fan, so I finally decided to write a review! I recommend the Chicken tikka masala and their onion nans.

Cons: A little on the expensive side

Yuva is located on a street lined with Indian restaurants. I have been there a couple of times. They have a lot of variety in their menu, and I love their dry bhindi/okra entree. I have never come across a single Indian restaurant in the city that makes this style of okra. Its crispy, tasty, spicey, and reminds me of my mom's cooking. It is dry, though, and hard to eat with either rice or bread. Its best eaten by itself. On the flip side, the okra is fried so not very healthy. Their paneer dishes and bread is also awesome. The food is delicious but a tad pricey. Its my new favorite in the city!

I am very happy with the restaurant's staff and the food they serve. The staff are friendly and good service. The food is simply awesome. The price of the food is good with that kind of delicious dishes and excellent service. I would recommend this restaurant to all my friends and new people in town. I would definitely bring my friends here again and again.

We went to Yuva on Valentines Day, it was really good, I've never had such innovative Indian food before. Try the Baigan Bhartha for example mind blowing presentation. Service was pampering they really took good care of us. The place was completely packed that night which added to the energy of the place, I give it 5 STARS.

I read all these nice reviews about Yuva. so i decided to give it a shot. I usually dine at Dawat which is only a few doors done. anyway we arrived at Yuva as a party of 4. It took them 10 mins to seat us and the place was not that bussy at all. anyway when we were seated it was in a tight corner. The place looks nice but looks can be deceiving.

The service is very slow. took them forever to bring our drinks, appz, main course.and check
the food is way to hyped. HORRIBLE....COLD...AND DEFF NOT WORTH THE PRICE.
Manager was verry rude and was rushing us out.
YUVA is deff out of the picture for me.

We are from London and were visiting here, we had heard about this restaurant in London, so we had planned to give it a try, and I am so glad, we did. This place serves authentic Indian food with a perfect balance of spices, the meats are fresh and delicately cooked to perfection. My personal favorites, you have to try are chapli kabobs, biriyani, chicken molee & family naan. We will always stop by Yuva for our Indian craving on our trips henceforth.

Not your usual Indian cuisine, the food here is as good if not better than the best neighborhood Indian restaurants, with a more varied menu than most thanks to its extensive selection of dishes from the hinterlands. Nicely designed setting borders on the romantic, and the service is impeccable. If you're in the mood to explore great Indian cuisine in a refined setting, this is the place for you.

My girlfriend and I love coming here. Polite staff, delicious food, good ambience and if they keep this combo up, we'll keep coming back again and again. I love their curries, their dipping sauces, and the dish preparations. Any lassi one can choose tastes great to me as well. I'm not much of a dessert fan after dinner, but the complimentary pudding they present after the meal tastes good, too. All in all, it's just comforting to go to a restaurant and know you're going to have a great meal, and that's more than enough.

We have ordered and eaten at all of the Indian places on this street, and decided to try the last one, Yuva. Well it was not good. It took an hour and a half for our food to arrive. When we called to find out where the food was, the woman hung up on my wife. Once we got the food, it was cold, the bread was soggy, and totally not worth it. There are plenty of Indian places on this street to order from or eat at. With such options, stay away from Yuva.

Last friday we had this amazzing special watermelon martini here at yuva, had to share with all you viewers here, it was just fantastic, I downed four of them. The dinner followed delicious food from the frontiers of India, we loved every bite of it.
This place provides a perfect ambiance, welcoming service and deliciously fresh Indian food, we love hanging out here with friends or even with dates. sometimes a few dishes take a longer then usual, but then you know for sure that everything you eat is gonna be freshly made from the scratch, which is why we find it totally worth the wait. We go here very often and if we cant, we just order in.

We were pleased last night, when we went to this place highly recommended by all my friends and co workers. I have to say that they serve authentic Indian food here. We probably ate the yummiest Indian food after so many years here in this country, we asked our server and we were told that the chef they have with them is a very renowned chef from Delhi (india), we weren't surprised. We even met the owner's wife who I recognised right away as she is a celebrity in India, they were all really nice & warm. We had one of the best meals in America here. I highly recommend it.

I cannot say enough about this place. Everything from the food, service and ambiance is truly outstanding. If you like spicy let your server know they customize each dish according to ones tolerance. I'm a spice fiend and ordered their red snapper which was PERFECT. My friends ordered the kebabs consisting of tandoori grilled lamb chops, baby leg of lamb (raan), chicken, shrimp and fish which they were raving about. Service was incredible they took care of all our needs in a warm and personalized manner. In terms of ambiance the music is really cool, consisting Indian fusion and the decor is rustic modern very trendy. I love this place, check it out!

I went to Yuva after hearing good things from a friends. it turned out to be one of the worst experiences i have had at an indian restaurant. When we arrived the place was not close to being full and it still took them a good 10 minutes to set up a table for 10. After we were seated it took our waiter 10 minutes to ask us for drinks. He came back and mixed up my frineds drink ( not a good sign). Our apps took for ever to arrive and when they did they were cold. At this point i was wondering if its even worth ordering a maincourse. We ordered the food and it was just not good. Dal Makhani was very ehhh and the goat tasted like it was 10 days old. over all a very bad experience i would reccomened the other indian places on 58th

We made a reservation for my birthday dinner, last weekend at yuva, we wanted the Chef's Table for our family of ten. We were there dot on time, we were recieved with a lot of grace and seated on the Special Chef's table in style, they had specially decorated that table for our private party.
We were so pleased, because usually restaurants (esply Indian) do not pay so much attention to such fine details. We had a special menu designed by the Head Chef exclusively for us. The bartender made really unique cocktails just for us and candle lights, the fresh roses and everything felt just right. I hav'nt felt like this on my birthday in years !
We had awesome starters a few from the menu and a few new ones (from head chef's clay oven) just for us, then main course followed after the appetizers and drinks, we had a mouth watering meal here (the best biryani, stuffed lamb pasanda, poori chholey, veg handi, dal makhani, kadhi, and wat not), which was followed by a surprise Cake with a sparkling candle and beautiful medley of Indian desserts (that were sweet, but not tooo sweet), and with the cake, we had the entire staff singing and clapping together including the Head Chef to wish me happy bday. I was so touched by their warmth and hospitality, that I have to recommend yuva to everyone, you have to go & experience, how we treat our guests at home in India. We all left so happy and I was the happiest !! Yuva is Highly recommended to all.

I have never ever written a review of a restaurant in my life, but, I have to share this experience with others right here. I went to this Indian restaurant last night for the first time, and I am often quite critical and also very particular about food, quality, hygiene, service and most importantly taste. Most surprisingly, and refreshingly (for an indian restaurant), they are doing it all quite well. We ordered the leg of lamb, lamb biryani, kakori kabab, shrimp angarey, it was just yum, the meat was so flavourful, juicy and tender, that two of us finished the food that was actually good for four people..lol... food was too delicious. The staff looked very clean and polished. I must also mention their cocktail & the pinot noir, I had was beautifully matched with our food, thanks to the recommendation of our server. I Highly recommended.

I went to Yuva for dinner and it was a great experience. The food was absolutely delicious. The service was very attentive. Each time the waiters brought anything over to my table, they would take the time to explain it to us. If we had any questions, they were happy to answer them. They even offered some suggestions to us on what to order. During dinner, the head chef had the waiter bring us over some complimentary bread which was very sweet and delicious. Our table was in the back in front of the oven where the chef was making the bread so we go to watch them make the bread. I will defintely be going back to Yuca again.

I've eaten at various Indian restaurants in NYC and I have to say, Yuva is the hands-down winner. I have no idea what benchmark is used to judge restaurants, but I get the feeling most of the "best of citysearch" restaurants are surviving on pure reputation. I've been over for the buffet lunch as well as the ala carte dinner and I must say I was blown away on both occasions. The chicken tikka masala was the best I've ever had. Having said that, this is not the kind of place that survives on the "curry sauce" food variety. They have the Andra pepper chicken which is delicious, and is not something that is available at any generic Indian place. The wait staff are incredible, their wine selection is very good, and the ambience and music is also generally very pleasing. My fiancee and I have eaten here at least once a month since we discovered this upper east side gem. I can't find anything to complain about even if I decided to be extremely nitpicky.

We dined at yuva for the seventh, if not eighth time in last five months, and I have to say that, we just love the food here, we always feel so welcomed at this place, the food is fantastic and authentic which is what has possesd me to write this review. I really have nothing to complain, they are good, the service is superfriendly, they take personal care of us each time.
My favourite dish here is the kachori, afghani kabab and the lamb chops. I love their breads & goat biryani too. They play awesome music, they have the classy touch in their presentation too, I think, they are one of the best in USA for indian food & hospitality.

I wish the rating mechanism allowed to rate this place not in numbers alone, as 10 out of possible 10 won't do any justice to the food and hospitality of this place. Last night was the third time I went to Yuva with a friend, which was to prove her wrong that there are no good authentic North Indian eating places in NY. And as on previous occasions, I made my point.
We were seated promptly and one of the head servers "Harpreet" is very friendly and knowledgable staff member and is more than happy to recommend dishes as per your taste buds.
The wine was good, and the appetizers "Kakori Kabaab" which is one delicacy which I tried in india before coming here, was out of this world.
The Tandoori Sampler gives you an idea of the genius of head chef and what symphony he creates with indian spices, chicken, lamb and Lobster. My personal fav. is Hariyaali Chicken which just melts in your mouth with each bite. Also, the mutton tikka is something which can be cut using the table knife rather than the steak knife.
The main course won't be complete without ordering Biryani, I tried both Mutton and Chicken Biryani, which come sealed with dough in Clay container and that just gives full marks for presentation. that coupled with Yogurt Raita is the closest you can get to heaven and come back alive!!
Try butter chicken or as some call it "Murgh Tikka Masala", Dal Makhni and Naan. They complete your meal.
On an ending note, I personally would recommend this place to everyone who has a notion that indian food is overly spicy, indian resturants smell of curry and there is Zero presentation skills in Indian restaurants, and prove them dead wrong.

Pros: Hospitable staff, personal attention of Head chef, mouth watering appetizers.

Cons: On an expensive side, but who said good food needs to be cheap...

Last night was our second time dining at yuva & we had an awesome experience again, right from the time we entered, starting from their extensive wine list to wonderful food with perfect flavours & beautiful presentation, to their hospitality & has one of the coolest ambiance in an indian restaurant, this place is easily the best inidan food I've had in the city, my american friends loved it too, its a complete package.
This place has my favourite desi kababs and biryanis, i also love thier chicken kali mirch, as i am a big spice lover, almost everything about this place impressed me all over again. Love it.

Wow Yuva on 58th st is so hyped up.. I read all these reviews and decided to go try it out even though i go to my set indian res. I thought maybe a change will be nice but it wasnt. When we arrrived it took them so long to put the table together. Next the waiter was very rude not in a happy mood. He took our drink order and appitizer order, The drinks came about 20 mins later and the apps about 15 mins after that.( it wasnt even busy). The kababs were very very dry, supposidly this place has awsome kababs. Main course same thing cold food, and waiter was really getting on my nerve. I still cant belive i left him a good tip after how rude he was. The owner was there i guess just sitting around minding his own business. I dont write reviews but after all these great reviews i can truly say there are much better in NYC

This place has alot of work to do in order to truly earn its "so called" reputation. Waiters forget drinks completely, food portions are tiny, two people have trouble sharing one entree. That is a problem since we paid about 20 $$$ for one dish, and had to order 5 dishes to get a decent taste. This place has good potential, but needs a significant amount of work before we can justify spending that much money on indian food you can get everywhere else.

as a new yorker away from home i miss the food back in india/pakistan. I went to yuva with couple of my friends. The place was small but i had heard alot about it so decided to pay them a visit. The owner was there himslef to take care of us and chated with us quite some times. It certainly got busy and they should definately think about outdoor seating or somethin since it is pretty small. Outdoor seating would definately increases their business. The hospatality of this restaurant would definately get a A but the food and the quality doesnot hold up to it.

THIS IS MY FIRST TIME EVER TO ACTUALLY SIT AND WRITE A REVIEW ON A SITE, BUT I AM REALLY INSPIRED TO SPREAD A GOOD WORD ABOUT EM, TOTALLY IN LOVE WITH THE FOOD I ATE TONIGHT AT YUVA, ALTHOUGH I AM NON INDIAN, I LOVE INDIAN FOOD AND NEED IT AT LEAST ONCE A WEEK. I HAVE TRIED ALMOST ALL THE INDIAN RESTAURANTS IN THE CITY AND YUVA HONESTLY HAS "THE BEST FOOD", EVEN THE WAY IT IS PRESENTED, ITS JUST BEAUTIFUL, THE STAFF IS VERY ELEGANT AND WARM. ITS SUCH A HIP INDIAN RESTAURANT, BUT WITH REALLY HOT FOOD, ITS A COMBINATION RARE TO GET. I ALSO LOVED THEIR COCKTAIL - VINDALOO MARGARITA, VERY UNIQUE AND PERFECT.
THIS RESTAURANT IS VERY ROMANTICALLY DECORATED, TONIGHT I DINED ALONE, AS MY WIFE IS OUT OF TOWN, BUT I CALLED MY WIFE WHEN I WAS FINISHING MY DINNER AND TOLD HER THAT I HAD THE BEST INDIAN MEAL EVER, THE FLAVOURS WERE PERFECT, MEATS WERE FRESH AND MARINATED SO WELL, I CANT WAIT FOR HER TO EXPERIENCE IT ALL.
I TOLD THEIR MANAGER HE IS GONNA SEE ME & MY WIFE AT LEAST ONCE A WEEK. THE PORTIONS ARE LARGE, I DID OVEREAT, BUT, I COULDNT FINISH EVERYTHING, SO I GOT THE DOGGIE BAG FOR TOMORROW'S LUNCH, YOU SEE WIFE IS NOT RETURNING TILL FRIDAY SO :(. NEEDLESS TO SAY, YUVA IS AN AWESOME EXPERIENCE. I THINK EVERYONE WHO LIKES INDIAN FOOD SHOULG GET.

I hail from Delhi, India, but I have been living in the city for more than 5 years, and have tried a lot of indian restaurants here in midtown (if not all), still searching for that perfect combination of right indian spices with warm service and style, before we discovered this new one on 58th street, Its been about seven months now, since we first went to yuva for dinner,
after which, we never went back to any old indian restaurants again.
Simply because this place serves original desi home food, with personal touch, yuva looks classy, clean, and the food is authentic but presented with style, its a perfect place for lunch or dinner, private parties, corporate dinners, cocktails, (ive seen it all happen there, since i work in the neighbourhood) they even have an awesomely huge lunch buffet which is quite a steal for the price ($14).
You have gotta try their lamb chops, khasta kachauri and yes their fabulous ajwaini lachha paratha, they have some really awesome curries including butter chicken, chicken kali mirch, which is spicy, not just hot, but pumped with flavours not oil, one must try they their puri & pindi choley with tamarind sauce, just out of this world !!The owners are so humble, the chef personally comes out to say hello, he knows us now.
In seven months I can say that we have probably tried almost everything from their menu, every thing has only confirmed our liking for this place, they definately have the right combination of staff working inside the kitchen and perfect tuning on the floor.
Till the time we get what we have been getting consistently, we are not going anywhere.
Anytime anybody asks us for a real indian meal, we highly recommend Yuva.

The servers were friendly and helped us order The WRONG. The food was just simply OK. My mom tried ordering 2 different dishes but it couldnt please taste buds.

Ironic, Coincidental, or just plain whistle blowing by the management. Dined here on Frinday night, im gusing the same as the reviewer below. We didnt have any reservations and were accepted with open arms as the place was empty quarter to 9. In our 1 hr dine, we enjoyed ourselves as i was accompanied by my friends. The service however was alright. The staff was friendly. However the food wasnt the best Indian food iv had. There are far better choices on the same street.

Unfortunately or fotunately I follow web blindly, & after reading such great reviews & praises on the web, we decided to go to Yuva. The place had such a long line waiting to dine there, i guess because it was a friday night, thank god , we had made a reservation.
I have to give this to them, this place has got the best indian food ive ever had & the presentation is beautiful and their hospitality is worth raving.
I love indian food and I hav'nt left any rock unturned in the city, honestly, for some reason, we felt at home, although this was our first time there. I would simply put this place as "AWESOME". Yuva has really taken Indian food to new heights. Yuva which means "youth" definetely lives upto its name. Th staff is not the typical bowtie, pretentous tuxedo type, the service is friendly, young and vibrant with class. Check it out.

We were recommended by so many indian & american friends and we have been planning to dine here for the longest time, last night we finally made it to yuva, me & my girlfriend completely loved this place. Awesome food, attentive service, hip music, and grace make yuva, what it is, we loved it in every sense, in fact it went way beyond our expectations. The place was packed, we didnt even have reservations, we waited for a couple of minutes while we were seated at the bar and we had some cool cocktails (their cocktails are very good by the way), comfortably on our table, we had delicious dinner with real indian home flavours, we were treated like royalty. Highly recommended to all.

I read so much about Yuva, many people reccomended it to me. It was a diasaster. We went there for Dinner. It took them like 10 minutes to seat us. The Service was really bad as our waiter was just standing there talking to another one. Well when he decided to come and take our order he tried to rush us. The Place itself was very nice and decorated beautifuly but the food and service will deff need an improvement.

I went to Yuva with a large group, so big we had to be separated. But everyone there was so polite and accomodating. They were attentive to each table and weren't rude to us about the level of noise or the fact that our party was straggling in and more place settings necessary.
The buffet was a mix of vegetarian and meat dishes, and included naan and dessert. The food was tasty, spicy, flavorful, not overcooked sitting on the hot trays.
I had a great time and the food was so good, I wished I had gone back to the buffet more than just twice.

This is the first time I am writing a review, I really felt like sharing this with others. Yuva has the most delicious food Ive eaten in the city, I am a lamb lover & we had raan, which was so tender & full of flavours, we even had their lamb chops which are extremely flavourful, juicy & fresh, since we were a big group we had the butter family naan, which is super huge flat bread by the way, so if you are a big group I would recommend the family naan.
Instead of rice, we had their lamb biryani which came in a clayjar covered & baked in tandoor. quite unusual huh? but extremely delicious, when our server cut the cover & opened the jar, we could smell cardamom, bayleaves, saffron & god knows how many different fresh flavours coming out with the steam of basmati rice...it was simply the best biryani, I ever had in USA. The food is really their speciality, the service was warm, friendly & helpful. The decor is so tastefully done, even their bathrooms are done very beautifully (yes, I do observe too much at times lol, but i need cleanliness). I still have to try quite a few things from their wonderful menu. Since I also like sea food, next time I am going to try thier whole red snapper, tandoori shrimp, fish malabar & if we still have room, a shrimp biryani for sure.

Straight and to the point. Everything we ordered was overcooked and incredibly dry. Ever try gnawing on dried okra with an even drier breaded coating. Everything that is except the Gola Crabs, which tasted like the just came from your grocer's freezer section out of a blue VandeKammps box. No kidding, I thought it was Friday night fish sticks again.

The upside - the wine list was fantastic. A walk through the world with many non traditional names and varietals.

Tonight was my third time dining at yuva, I came to NYC about two months ago, and I was recommended yuva by my indian co-workers, who were raving about this indian restaurant with real indian food & no fusion so on & so forth.
As a new comer to the city, I did try a few other restaurants in the vicinity & realised that it was hard to find authentic indian home food, but I was pleasantly surprised when i first ate at yuva. I am a vegetarian & believe me i had the most delicious desi meal at yuva, we had awesome tandoori mushrooms & khasta kachauri for apps, in the main course we ordered the black lentils with ajwain lachha paratha, malai kofta which were so amazing & poori with pindi choley, with a combination of masala red onions with lime juice & tamarind chutney, I have to admit that, although I am from delhi, i have never enjoyed poori choley like these in my entire life. Its high quality food with great value & so deliciously yummy. We had their jasmine parfait with guava pine nut chikki, which was just out of this world, apparently they have a chef just for their desserts, & i love exclusivity.
The place was packed, the music had zest, the service warm, the food great, what else could I ask for on a saturday night. It Left us so satisfied in every sense, flavours, variety, freshness & did not make a whole in my pocket ;) keep up the good work.
